  I would like to call a member through lambda::bind. Unfortunately I have got to members with the same name but different return type. • Need Help on a custom HTML Helper

  I'm trying to create a custom HTML Helper to help simplify my masterpages menu, however it is not rendering on the HTML when I use it.. I'm thinking I will need to create a partial view, any ideas? One of the exercises is the following, however I do not really understand what it is asking to.... any smart java gurus out there that could explain this in more detail and simple words? Thanks Suppose that you have a binary file that contains numbers whos type is either int or double. You dont know the order of the numbers in the file, but their order is recorded in a string at the begining of the file. The string is composed of the letters i for int, and d for double, in the order of the types of the subsequent numbers. The string is written using the method writeUTF. For example the string "iddiiddd" indicated that the file contains eight values, as follows: one integer, followed by two doubles, followed by two integers, followed by three doubles. Read this binary file and create a new text file of the values written one to a line.

• Rails: unable to set any attribute of child model

  I'm having a problem instantiating a ListItem object with specified attributes. For some reason all attributes are set to nil even if I specify values. However, if I specify attributes for a List, they retain their values.   Hi I want to write a mysql statement which will return a list of results from one table along with a comma separated list of field from another table. I think an example might better explain it Table 1 ======================== id First_Name Surname ---------------------- 1 Joe Bloggs 2 Mike Smith 3 Jane Doe Table 2 ======================== id Person_Id Job_id --------------------- 1 1 1 2 1 2 3 2 2 4 3 3 5 3 4 I want to return a list of people with a comma separated list of job_ids. So my result set would be id First_Name Surname job_id ------------------------------ 1 Joe Bloggs 1,2 2 Mike Smith 2 3 Jane Doe 3,4 I guess the sql would be something like select id, First_Name, Surname, (SELECT job_id FROM Table 2) as job_id from Table 1 but obviously this does not work so need to change the '(SELECT job_id FROM Table 2) as job_id' part. • AsyncPostBackTrigger disables buttons...

  I've a simple UpdatePanel and a button outside of it. I've introduced the button as an AsyncPostBackTrigger in the UpdatePanel. UpdatePanel itself works fine but the button does not. Whenever the button is clicked, its click handler does not run just like the button is not clicked at all! Why the button is not working and how can it be fixed?   Hi, I'd like to write a method that can accept a type param (or whatever the method can figure out the type from) and return a value of this type so I don't have to cast the return type. Here is a method: public Object doIt(Object param){ if(param instanceof String){ return "string"; }else if(param instanceof Integer){ return 1; }else{ return null; } } When I call this method, and pass in it a String, even if I know the return type will be a String I have to cast the return Object. This is similar to the int param. How shall I write this method to accept a type param, and return this type?

• How best to embed multiple Flash Player instances using swfobject via a usercontrol?

  I have a ListView on a Page within a MasterPage and some very ugly ugly autogenerated IDs. Such as..."ctl00_workbenchPlaceHolder_ListView1_ctrl1_LibItem2One" Using swfobject.embedSWF(...) requires me to hand over the id of a div on my page that can be replaced with object/embed markup depending on the browser context. My aim is to show the user a collection of video's they have uploaded to their website so they can review them and change some related data if desired. Hence the ListView which is populated via a SQLDataSource which currently provides a number of URLs pointing to .flv files. But it ain't gonna work if I put a <div id="replaceme"></div>' in my user control because I may then have more than one id="replaceme" and poor swfobject won't like it. So my evil solution is to put an <asp:Literal> in my usercontrol and build the script, function name and div tag id as a string. • Translate ImageButton from C# to XAML

  I worked out the C# code to create an ImageButton (below) that has three images (one base-image and two overlays) and three text boxes as the face of the button. I am inheriting from the Button class, which unfortunately includes several components that I didn't realize would surface until after coding and need to remove, namely the bright-blue surrounding border on IsMouseOver, and any visible borders between the buttons, as the buttons will end up in a wrapPanel and the borders need to be seamless. Now that the format has been worked out in C#, I expect that I need to translate to XAML so that I can create a ControlTemplate to get the functionality necessary, however I am not certain as to the process of translating from C# to XAML.   I am setting up a Lotus Notes account to accept emails from a client, and automatically save each email as a plain text file to be processed by another application. So, I'm trying to create my very first Agent in Lotus to automatically export the emails to text. Is there a standard, best practices way to do this? I've created a LotusScript Agent that pretty much works. However, there is a bug - once the Body of the memo exceeds 32K characters, it starts inserting extra CR/LF pairs.   I'm wondering how to convert a List of one type to an array of another type in Java using Dozer. The two types have all the same property names/types. The mapper.map function works fine if I create two wrapper classes, one containing a List and the other a b[].   I'm using the tokenizing autocomplete plugin for jquery ( http://loopj.com/2009/04/25/jquery-plugin-tokenizing-autocomplete-text-entry ). I mostly use Ruby, and I'm really unfamiliar with javascript, though. My basic setup looks like this, and works fine for a new, blank form: $(document).ready(function () { $("#tag_ids_field").tokenInput("/tags", { queryParam: "search" }); }); The problem comes when I try to prepopulate it, like for an edit page. I'm trying to do something like this (where the "#tag_ids_field" text box contains the JSON when the page is loaded - that way is just cleaner on the application side of things). $(document).ready(function () { var tags = $("#tag_ids_field").html(); $("#tag_ids_field").tokenInput("/tags", { queryParam: "search", prePopulate: tags }); }); However, when the page loads I see that it's just filled with hundreds of entries that read 'undefined'. (For whatever reason, I can't get the above line to display correctly, but there is no space between the `< and img) Can anyone point out what is wrong with it? Aside from the pattern matching, I assure you the line is verbatim from the webpage. Another question I had is the ability to match across line breaks. Is there any possible way to do this? The reason why I ask is because on that same page, a few of the things I need to match are broken up on separate lines, and since the actual pattern I'm wanting to match shows up in other places on the page, I need to be able to match across line breaks to get the exact pattern. I appreciate any help in this matter!

• Access external xml using xslt document function return 401

  On MOSS2007, I have a webpart that display the content of a xml feed. I use a xslt with parameters for transforamtions. There is a situation when I receive a 401 Authorisation exception. I realize that this happen when a document() function from my xslt try to open an external xml. If I try to open this xml in browser all work ok. I provided my admin credentials to the web part and to the XmlSecureResolver. Same problem. The webpart is on server1 and the xml feed and external xml required by xslt is on server2. • Scala 2.8 TreeMap and custom Ordering

  I'm switching from scala 2.7 and ordered to scala 2.8 and using ordering. It looks quite straight forward but I was wondering could I make it a little less verbose. For example: scala> case class A(i: Int) defined class A scala> object A extends Ordering[A] { def compare(o1: A, o2: A) = o1.i - o2.i} defined module A If I then try to create a TreeMap I get an error scala> new collection.immutable.TreeMap[A, String]() <console>:10: error: could not find implicit value for parameter ordering: Ordering[A] new collection.immutable.TreeMap[A, String]() ^ However if I explicitly specify the object A as the ordering it works fine. scala> new collection.immutable.TreeMap[A, String]()(A) res34: scala.collection.immutable.TreeMap[A,String] = Map() Do I always have to explicitly specify the ordering or is there a shorter format?
