• Spring redirect: prefix issue

  Hello, I have an application which uses Spring 3. I have a view resolver which builds my views based on a String. So in my controllers I have methods like this one. @RequestMapping(...) public String method(){ //Some proccessing return "tiles:tileName" } I need to return a RedirectView to solve the duplicate submission due to updating the page in the browser, so I have thought to use Spring redirect: prefix. The problem is that it only redirects when I user a URL alter the prefix (not with a name a resolver can understand). I wanted to do something like this: @RequestMapping(...) public String method(){ //Some proccessing return "redirect:tiles:tileName" } Is there any way to use RedirectView with the String (the resolvable view name) I get from the every controller method? • Does "Debug" invalidate ASP.Net MVC OutputCache?

  I have images stored in a database and am serving them from an MVC controller as "FileResult". If I run the MVC application from Visual Studio 2008 in debug mode and set a break point inside the controller method the debugger intercepts the call on every page refresh regardless of my "OutputCache" settings. Does the VS debugger invalidate the OutputCache or is there something else going on here?   Im using c# .net windows form application. I have created a database which has many tables. In one of the tables I have entered data. In this table I have 4 columns named key, name,age,value. Here the name "key" of the first column is a key word. Now I am trying to get these column names into a combo box. I am unable to get the name "key". • Why do I get Detached Entity exception when upgrading Spring Boot 1.1.4 to 1.1.5

  On updating Spring Boot from 1.1.4 to 1.1.5 a simple web application started generating detached entity exceptions. Specifically, a post authentication inteceptor that bumped number of visits was causing the problem. A quick check of loaded dependencies showed that Spring Data has been updated from 1.6.1 to 1.6.2 and a further check of the change log shows a couple of issues relating to optimistic locking, version fields and JPA issues that have been fixed. Well I am using a version field and it starts out as Null following recommendation to not set in the specification. I have produced a very simple test scenario where I get detached entity exceptions if the version field starts as null or zero. If I create an entity with version 1 however then I do not get these exceptions. Is this expected behaviour or is there still something amiss? Below is the test scenario I have for this condition. In the scenario the service layer that has been annotated @Transactional. Each test case makes multiple calls to the service layer - the tests are working with detached entities as this is the scenario I am working with in the full blown application. The test case comprises four tests: Test 1 - versionNullCausesAnExceptionOnUpdate() In this test the version field in the detached object is Null. This is how I would usually create the object prior to passing to the service. This test fails with a Detached Entity exception. I would have expected this test to pass. If there is a flaw in the test then the rest of the scenario is probably moot. Test 2 - versionZeroCausesExceptionOnUpdate() In this test I have set the version to value Long(0L). This is an edge case test and included because I found reference to Zero values being used for version field in the Spring Data change log. This test fails with a Detached Entity exception. Of interest simply because the following two tests pass leaving this as an anomaly. Test 3 - versionOneDoesNotCausesExceptionOnUpdate() In this test the version field is set to value Long(1L). Not something I would usually do, but considering the notes in the Spring Data change log I decided to give it a go. This test passes. Would not usually set the version field, but this looks like a work-around until I figure out why the first test is failing. Test 4 - versionOneDoesNotCausesExceptionWithMultipleUpdates() Encouraged by the result of test 3 I pushed the scenario a step further and perform multiple updates on the entity that started life with a version of Long(1L). This test passes. Reinforcement that this may be a useable work-around. • Asp.net Google Charts SSL handler for GeoMap

  Hi All, I am trying to view Google charts in a site using SSL. Google Charts do not support SSL so if we use the standard charts, we get warning messages. My plan is to create a ASHX handler that is co9ntained in the secure site that will retrieve the content from Google and serve this to the page the user is viewing. Using VS 2008 SP1 and the included web server, my idea works perfectly for both Firefox and IE 8 & 9(Preview) and I am able to see my geomap displayed on my page as it should be. But my problem is when I publish to IIS7 the page using my handler to generate the geomap works in Firefox but not IE(every version). There are no errors anywhere or in any log files, but when i right click in IE in the area where the map should be displayed, I see the message in the context menu saying "movie not loaded" Below is the code from my handler and the aspx page. I have disabled compression in my web.config. Even in IE I am hitting all my break points and when I use the IE9 Developer tools, the web page is correctly generated with all the correct code, url's and references. If you have any better ways to accomplish this or how i can fix my problem, I will appreciate it. • XSD Schema for XML with multiple structures

  I am attempting to write an XML Schema to cover a number of XML conditions which I may encounter. I have the same root element (serviceRequest) with different child elements. I was trying to use the xs:extension element to define multiple versions, but it is complaining about unexpected element orderInclusionCriteria etc. Am I going about this the right way, or is there a better way to define this? The other way I thought about this was to have a single xs:choice with all the options inside it, but this seemed somewhat inelegant. These XSD files are for use within XMLBeans if that makes any difference.   Basically, what I want to do is join 4 tables together and return 1 row for each boat. Table Layouts [Boats] id, date, section, raft [Photos] id, boatid, pthurl, purl [River_Company] id, sort, company, company_short [River_Section] id, section Its very simple as far as structure, however, I've having the time of my life trying to get it to return only 1 row. No boat will ever be on the same day, the only thing that's messing this up is the photo table. If you know a better way for it to return the record table for all the boats boats and only 1 photo from the photo table, please, please post it!!

• WCF: How can I send data while gracefully closing a connection?

  I've got a WCF service that offers a Login method. A client is required to call this method (due to it being the only IsInitiating=true). This method should return a string that describes the success of the call in any case. If the login failed, the connection should be closed. The issue is with the timing of the close. I'd like to send the return value, then immediately close the connection. string Login (string name, string pass) { if (name != pass) { OperationContext.Current.Channel.Close (); return "fail"; } else { return "yay"; } } The MSDN states that calling Close on the channel causes an ICommunicationObject to gracefully transition from the Opened state to the Closed state. The Close method allows any unfinished work to be completed before returning. For example, finish sending any buffered messages). This did not work for me (or my understanding is wrong), as the close is executed immediately - WCF does not wait for the Login method to finish executing and return a string but closes the connection earlier. Therefore I assume that calling Close does not wait for the running method to finish. Now, how can I still return a value, then close?

• destroy cfwindow in javascript 'is not a function'

  Hi All, Having an issue here that I have tried everything I can think of but cant get it to work. I have a page with a link that creates a cfwindow like so function create_window(ID){ var config = new Object(); config.modal=true; config.center=true; config.height=775; config.width=700; config.resizable=false; config.closable=false; config.draggable=false; config.refreshonshow=true; ColdFusion.Window.create('newWindow','Window Title', '/source/url'+ID, config) The window is created and the URL has the ID parsed to it that is used for displaying the correct item in the window. This all works fine. The problem is when I try and close the window and open a new window with a different item being displayed, the URL is not changed. I realise that this is because the window is being hidden, and not destroyed, and therefore it is the same window being opened. So I have created an onHide event handler to destroy the window like so. function showItemDetails(){ var ID=document.getElementById("sList").value create_window(ID); ColdFusion.Window.onHide('newWindow', refreshList); } function refreshList(){ ColdFusion.bindHandlerCache['sList'].call(); ColdFusion.Window.destroy('newWindow',true); } Now when I close the window Firebug is returning the error "ColdFusion.Window.destroy is not a function" (In IE the error is "Object doesn't support this property or method"). I have made sure we are running the latest version of ColdFusion 8.01 on the server (as I know that .destroy wasnt added until 8.01) and have applied the latest hotfixes to the server as well. Any ideas?

  Hi, I have created a table on an Oracle 10g database with this structure : create table myTable ( id number(32,0) primary key, myData clob ) I can insert rows in the table without any problem, but when I try to read data from the table using OleDb connection, I get an exception. Data type is not supported. Does anyone know how I can read this data using the OleDb connection ? PS : The driver used in this case is the Microsoft one.

• jquery issue, disable on mouseenter queue

  When you mouseenter .li_group class it does a slide down effect on 1 single <li> tag, everything goes smoothly, but during the delay if you take your mouse off and on .li_group it "queues" the effect and slides the li down, delay, slides it down again etc etc... However, I sometimes want to set the values of the parent and target from a DB (I want to default them, based on a code entered by the user; the whole thing is wrapped in an update panel). So if the user keys in ABC, I look up ABC in the DB and default the Parent DropDown to ID 10 and Child DropDown to ID 101. However, this fails because the child has no items when the server side code runs (the web script method hasn't run, because the content of the parent dd wasn't changed on the client side) Does anybody know how to work around this?   It's a known bug/issue that a label in GTK will not dynamically resize when the parent changes. It's one of those really annoying small details, and I want to hack around it if possible. I followed the approach at 16 software, but as per the disclaimer you cannot then resize it smaller. So I attempted a trick mentioned in one of the comments (the set_size_request call in the signal callback), but this results in some sort of infinite loop (try it and see). Does anyone have any other ideas? (You can't block the signal just for the duration of the call, since as the print statements seem to indicate, the problem starts after the function is left.) The code is below. You can see what I mean if you run it and try to resize the window larger and then smaller. (If you want to see the original problem, comment out the line after "Connect to the size-allocate signal", run it, and resize the window bigger.) • Java Charset problem on linux

  Hi, problem: I have a string containing special characters which i convert to bytes and vice versa..the conversion works properly on windows but on linux the special character is not converted properly.the default charset on linux is UTF-8 as seen with Charset.defaultCharset.getdisplayName() however if i run on linux with option -Dfile.encoding=ISO-8859-1 it works properly.. how to make it work using the UTF-8 default charset and not setting the -D option in unix environment. edit: i use jdk1.6.13 edit:code snippet works with cs = "ISO-8859-1"; or cs="UTF-8"; on win but not in linux String x = "½"; System.out.println(x); byte[] ba = x.getBytes(Charset.forName(cs)); for (byte b : ba) { System.out.println(b); } String y = new String(ba, Charset.forName(cs)); System.out.println(y); ~regards daed
