I am trying to retrieve an inbox of basically emails that have not been read however, i am just getting a bunch of gibberish and its reading an email. can you help me modify my code to just read the most recent messages.     I apologize if that title is confusing. This question may be a result of lack of coffee and/or sleep, but my mind is not working correctly right now. Anyways, I have an inheritance tree like such (I know the architecture isn't ideal): BaseClass GeneralForm : Inherits BaseClass SpecificForm : Inherits GeneralForm And an object like so: MyItem MySpecificItem : Inherits MyItem I have Items As List (Of MyItem) as a property in BaseClass. I would like for SpecificForm to somehow override Items to return type List (Of MySpecificItem).     Hi all, I have a link in a Gridview that I want opened in Windows Explorer (or explorer.exe). <asp:GridView ID="GridView1"runat="server" > <Columns> <asp:TemplateField> <ItemTemplate> <asp:LinkButton ID="DeploymentLocation" runat="server" CommandName="OpenLink" Text='<%# Eval("DeploymentLocation") %>' CommandArgument='<%# Eval("DeploymentLocation") %>' /> </ItemTemplate> </asp:TemplateField> </Columns> and in codebehind I have this: protected void GridView1_RowCommand(object sender, GridViewCommandEventArgs e) { Process.Start("explorer.exe", "/n," + e.CommandArgument.ToString()); } Obviously this doesn't work as Process.Start only works if I have full permissions, etc, etc. I heard that I can use Javascript to do this, but haven't succeeded so far.   • Updating div after full page refresh following AJAX request

    Hi, I have an AJAX controller action which returns JSON. The returned JSON is handled via jQuery and contains a message displayed in an update div. The JSON also contains a flag which indicates a change in state. If this is true the entire page needs to be reloaded from a different url. This is currently performed in the jQuery using window.location.replace(url). In the situation where a full page refresh occurs, I still want to display the message from the JSON in the update div, but after the page has fully reloaded. How can I ensure the div is updated with the message after the window.location.replace call and the page has been completely reloaded? Thanks. (I realise AJAX is not intended for full page refreshes but I can't think of a simple way of avoiding it in this scenario. Normal behaviour here is updating the div with a status message.)

However, any call on a dynamic variable will be translated into a delegate once and from then on, the delegate will be called. In VB, when using Object, no caching is applied and each call on a non-typed method involves a whole lot of under-the-hood reflection, sometimes totaling a whopping 400-fold performance penalty. Have the dynamic type delegate-optimization and caching also been added to the VB untyped method calls, or is VB's untyped Object still so slow?

    I want to use an Enum value for the types of VaryByCustom parameters I will support, is it possible to do this? I tried setting it in the page itself <%@ OutputCache Duration="600" VaryByParam="none" VaryByCustom='<%=VaryByCustomType.IsAuthenticated.ToString(); %>' %> But this returned the entire literal string "<%=VaryByCustomType.IsAuthenticated.ToString(); %>" inside my global.asax is there any way to do this either on the page itself or from the codebehind? Or is this just something I have to accept is purely magic strings and nothing I can do to add type safety to it?

    I have the following mapping for my table in MySql: <class name="Tag, namespace" table="tags" > <id name="id" type="Int32" unsaved-value="0"> <generator class="native"></generator> </id> <property name="name" type="String" not-null="true"></property> <component name="record_dates" class="DateMetaData, namespace" > <property name="created_at" type="DateTime" not-null="true"></property> <property name="updated_at" type="DateTime" not-null="true"></property> </component> </class> As you see the record_dates property is defined as a component field of type DateMetaDate. Both created_at and updated_at fields in 'tags' table are updated via triggers. Thus I can insert a new record like such: var newTag = new Tag() { name = "some string here" } Int32 id = (Int32)Session.Save(tag); Session.Flush(); ITag t = Session.Get<Tag>(id); ViewData["xxx"] = t.name; // -----> not null ViewData["xxx"] = t.record_dates.created_at; // -----> is null However when querying the same record back immediately after it was inserted the record_dates field ends up null even though in the table those fields have got values. Can any one please point out why the Session.Get ignores getting everything back from the table? is it because it caches the newly created record for which the records_dates is null? If so how can it be told to ignore the cached version?
