    - by alpho07
    How do i find dynamic average for not the 20 input boxes with ".num" class but even just five out of 20. I have done it as below but it won't work $.fn.sumValues = function() { var sum = 0; this.each(function() { if ( $(this).is(':input') ) { var val = $(this).val(); } else { var val = $(this).text(); } sum += parseFloat( ('0' + val).replace(/[^0-9-\.]/g, ''), 10 ); }); return sum.toFixed(2); }; $(document).ready(function() { $('input.price').bind('keyup', function() { $('span.total').html( $('input.price').sumValues()/$('.num').length ); }); });

  • Firefox DOMParser problem

    - by Michael
    For some reason DOMParser is adding some additional #text elements for each newline \n for this url http://rt.com/Root.rss ...as well as many other RSS I've tried. I checked cnn/bbc feeds, they don't have newlines and dom parser handling them nicely. So I have to add the following before parsing it var xmlText = htmlText.replace(/\n[ ]*/g, ""); var xmlDoc = parser.parseFromString(xmlText, "text/xml"); Server is returning text/xml. var channel = xmlDoc.documentElement.childNodes[0]; this returning \n without my code above and channel with correction.

  • jQuery - making sure content is loaded before it's faded in?

    - by Kenny Bones
    Hi, Nick Craver really helped me out alot with this code in this thread http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2743443/jquery-can-someone-help-stitching-jquery-code-with-ajaxcomplete/2743791#2743791 And it is working. But I notice that there's a small delay after I've clicked a link and before the content is actually loaded. It's not very intense content that's loaded either so I think it's got something to do with the order which things happen in the script. The original code looks like this: $('.dynload').live('click', function(){ var toLoad = $(this).attr('href')+' #content'; $('#content').fadeOut('fast',loadContent); $('#ajaxloader').fadeIn('normal'); function loadContent() { $('#content').load(toLoad,'',showNewContent()) } function showNewContent() { $('#content').fadeIn('fast',hideLoader()); //Cufon.replace('h1, h2, h3, h4, .menuwrapper', { fontFamily: 'advent'}); } function hideLoader() { $('#ajaxloader').fadeOut('normal'); } return false; }); The new code looks like this: $(function() { $('.dynload').live('click', function(){ $('#ajaxloader').fadeIn('fast'); $('#ajaxloaderfridge').fadeIn('fast'); var href = this.href + ' #content'; $('#content').fadeOut('fast',function() { $(this).load(href,'', function(data) { createMenus(); $('#ajaxloader').fadeOut('fast'); $('#ajaxloaderfridge').fadeOut('fast'); $('#content').fadeIn('fast'); Cufon.replace('h1, h2, h3, h4, .menuwrapper', { fontFamily: 'advent'}); }); }); return false; }); }); $(createMenus); function createMenus() { $('#kontrollpanel .slidepanels').kwicks({ min : 42, spacing : 3, isVertical : true, sticky : true, event : 'click' }); } In the original code, #content is faded out, then the function "loadContent" is started. Which is basically what is happening in the new script as well isn't it? And when I was using the old code, the content just faded out and faded in really fast and smooth and with no small pause delay before the content arrived.

  • How to calculate a latlng on google map ceartain distance away from another?

    - by Rene Saarsoo
    To draw a circle on map I have a center GLatLng (A) and a radius (r) in meters. Here's a diagram: ----------- --/ \-- -/ \- / \ / \ / r \ | *-------------* \ A / B \ / \ / -\ /- --\ /-- ----------- How to calculate the GLatLng at position B? Assuming that r is parallel to the equator. Getting the radius when A and B is given is trivial using the GLatLng.distanceFrom() method - but doing it the other way around not so. Seems that I need to do some heavier math.

  • Letting user carry on after three attempts

    - by sMilbz
    In my spelling game there is a grid that is populated with words. The words are hidden and the aim of the game is to spell the word that is highlighted with the aid of a sound and a picture. To highlight a word you press the "next" button. At the moment if you spell the word correctly it says "well done" and you can advance to the next word, but if you spell it incorrectly you have to keep attempting the word until it is complete. As the game is designed for children I do not think this is the best approach, so I would like to make it so you can advance after 3 incorrect attempts. I have played around with the script so much trying to put counters on incorrect attempts and then making the button active but cannot seem to get it to work. Can someone please help me? Here is the script for the button var noExist = $('td[data-word=' + listOfWords[rndWord].name + ']').hasClass('wordglow2'); if (noExist) { $('.minibutton').click(); } else { $('.minibutton').click('disable'); $("#mysoundclip").attr('src', listOfWords[rndWord].audio); audio.play(); $("#mypic").attr('src', listOfWords[rndWord].pic); pic.show(); } }); "wordglow2" is the style applied if the word is spelt correctly. Here is a fiddle to help understand... http://jsfiddle.net/smilburn/ZAfVZ/4/

  • Jquery push data to the good row.

    - by marharépa
    Hi! This is my big problem. This script put the information to a table. function handleAccountFeed(result) { var entries = result.feed.getEntries(); var outputTable = ['<table><tr>', '<th>Account Name</th>', '<th>Profile Name</th>', '<th>Profile ID</th>', '<th>Table Id</th></tr>']; for (var i = 0, entry; entry = entries[i]; ++i) { var row = [ entry.getPropertyValue('ga:AccountName'), entry.getTitle().getText(), entry.getPropertyValue('ga:ProfileId'), entry.getTableId().getValue() ].join('</td><td>'); outputTable.push('<tr><td>', row, '</td></tr>'); } outputTable.push('</table>'); document.getElementById('outputDiv').innerHTML = outputTable.join(''); } I've got an own SMARTY template, which makes a table: <table id="stuffs"> <tbody> {section name=i loop=$ownsites} <tr><td>{$ownsites[i].id}</td><td>{$ownsites[i].domain}</td><td>PLACE</td></tr> {/section} <tbody> </table> I'd like to put the TableId (getTableId().getValue()) to that row's PLACE where {$ownsites[i].domain} is equal to the jquery row's Title (getTitle().getText()) How can i do this within this jQuery script?

  • Using TweenMax to fade in div with background pattern and z-index not working

    - by shibbydoo
    I'm trying to do this really simple fade using TweenMax for this div I have. Here's the css for the div .aboutBg { background:url(../images/pattern.jpg); top:0; right:0; left:0; bottom:0, position:fixed; border:10px solid red; z-index:10; } TweenMax.to('.aboutPage', 0.5, {autoAlpha:1}); What's happening is the border would fade in nicely but the patterned bg is not, it just pops up at the end of the tween. If I remove the z-index everything works, but I have to have set the z-index so it's on top of my other content. Also I'm not tweening the z-index, it's set before the tween, so I'm not sure why it's not fading correctly. Anyone has any idea? Thanks.

  • How to I preload images where it actually forces the images to load before continuing (html/javascri

    - by Mr. Flibble
    I want to preload images but ensure they are loaded before continuing. How can I do this? The following does not work as it sends off the load request only, but doesn't wait till the image is loaded. So it is possible that the image isn't loaded when requested soon after. jQuery.preloadImages = function () { for (var i = 0; i < arguments.length; i++) { jQuery("<img>").attr("src", arguments[i]); } } $.preloadImages("img1.jpg","img2.jpg");

  • How to access a method of a closure's parent object?

    - by Bytecode Ninja
    I have defined a class named MyClass and I have defined two methods myMethod1 and myMethod2 for it: function MyClass() {} MyClass.prototype.myMethod1 = function() {...}; MyClass.prototype.myMethod2 = function() {...}; Inside myMethod1, I use jQuery and there's a callback closure defined there: MyClass.prototype.myMethod2 = function() { $.jQuery({success: function(data) { this.myMethod2(); }, ...}); } Now the problem is that this no longer is referring to MyClass. The question is how can I refer to it? At the moment I have assigned it to a variable named thisObj and access it this way: MyClass.prototype.myMethod2 = function() { var thisObj = this; $.jQuery({success: function(data) { thisObj.myMethod2(); }, ...}); } Is there a better way to access MyClass.this from the closure nested in myMethod2? Thanks in advance.

  • Concatenate an each loop inside another

    - by Lothar
    I want to to concatenate the results of a jquery each loop inside of another but am not getting the results I expect. $.each(data, function () { counter++; var i = 0; var singlebar; var that = this; tableRow = '<tr>' + '<td>' + this.foo + '</td>' + $.each(this.bar, function(){ singlebar = '<td>' + that.bar[i].baz + '</td>'; tableRow + singlebar; }); '</tr>'; return tableRow; }); The portion inside the nested each does not get added to the string that is returned. I can console.log(singlebar) and get the expected results in the console but I cannot concatenate those results inside the primary each loop. I have also tried: $.each(this.bar, function(){ tableRow += '<td>' + that.bar[i].baz + '</td>'; }); Which also does not add the desired content. How do I iterate over this nested data and add it in the midst of the table that the primary each statement is building?
