  • Dealing with Struts2 float conversion type

    - by Daniel Calderon Mori
I have a question regarding float type conversion in Struts2. I have a form that contains a serie of normal input elements. A serie of textfields with an add button by the side of each one is included in the window. Clicking on one of this buttons has the effect of adding an input type "hidden" inside the form with the value of its correspondent textfield. That value will often be a float number that, this is very important, uses the point format (example: 1.34). The inputs created look like this: <input class="hidden_material" type="hidden" name="form[0].cantidad_formulacion" value='1.34'"> <input class="hidden_material" type="hidden" name="form[1].cantidad_formulacion" value='1.54'"> Anyway, the whole proccess is made correctly until the data is used by the server after the form submission. The numbers are present as if the point wouldn't have been placed in the number (using the example above, as 134). If a comma is used (as in 1,34), there wouldn't be a problem. But that will not be the case with the users of the system. How could I solve this problem?

  • Does anyone know what is the 32 character string before the product image filename in Magento ?

    - by Daniel Higgins
I ask this question, since I am trying to get the images I have just copied from Domain A to work in Domain B, (which is using the same database). http://DOMAIN_A/magento/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/b/0/b0041-1.jpg I think knowing what the 32 character string is, which help me find a good explanation why the images are not being found in the front or backend of Magento after reinstall on DOMAIN B. Thanks

  • INSERT INTO ... SELECT ... vs dumping/loading a file in MySQL

    - by Daniel Huckstep
What are the implications of using a INSERT INTO foo ... SELECT FROM bar JOIN baz ... style insert statement versus using the same SELECT statement to dump (bar, baz) to a file, and then insert into foo by loading the file? In my messing around, I haven't seen a huge difference. I would assume the former would use more memory, but the machine that this runs on has 8GB of RAM, and I never even see it go past half used. Are there any huge (or long term) performance implications that I'm not seeing? Advantages/disadvantages of either?

  • migrate a portion of a mysql table to SQLite

    - by daniel
I have a mysql table set up like so: user_id | document 44 [blob] 44 [blob] 44 [blob] 46 [blob] I'd like to export all of user_id 44's data to an SQLite3 file. Best way to go about this without writing a script that reads the data and dumps it into a SQLite file?

  • Concatenation yields error with underscore

    - by Daniel
I am trying to create a macro that brings in the name of the sheet and combine it with text. For example, for sheet one, I want it to say "ThisIs_Sheet1_Test" in I5 of Sheet1. There are several sheets but it should work for all of them. What is wrong with my code? I think the underscore might be ruining it all. Here's what I have: Dim SheetName As String Public Sub CommandButton1_Click() SheetName = ActiveSheet.Name Sheets("Sheet1").Range("I5", "I5") = ThisIs_" & SheetName.text & "_Test Sheets("Sheet2").Range("H5", "H5") = ThisIs_" & SheetName.text & "_Test Sheets("Sheet3").Range("G5", "G5") = ThisIs_" & SheetName.text & "_Test End Sub

  • How can I format numbers as money in JavaScript?

    - by Daniel Magliola
    I would like to format a price in JavaScript. Basically, I have a float variable, and I'd like to have a function that will receive that variable, and output: "$ 2,500.00" What's the best way to do this? EDIT: OK, since I haven't gotten any answers better than the code I implemented, plus my own answer has been voted down and I can't put my own answer as the right one... Here it is... var DecimalSeparator = Number("1.2").toLocaleString().substr(1,1); var AmountWithCommas = Amount.toLocaleString(); var arParts = String(AmountWithCommas).split(DecimalSeparator); var intPart = arParts[0]; var decPart = (arParts.length > 1 ? arParts[1] : ''); decPart = (decPart + '00').substr(0,2); return '£ ' + intPart + DecimalSeparator + decPart;

  • PHP: report table with date gaps

    - by Daniel
Hi. I have a table in DB which contains summaries for days. Some days may not have the values. I need to display table with results where each column is a day from user selected range. I've tried to play with timestamp (end_date - start_date / 86400 - how many days in report, then use DATEDIFF(row_date, 'user_entered_start_date') and create array from this indexes), but now I've got whole bunch of workarounds for summer time :( Any examples or ideas how to make this correct? P.S. I need to do this on PHP side, because DB is highly loaded.

  • Open Source .NET embedded web/http server

    - by Daniel Mošmondor
I am working on a project where I need to embed a web server into my C# application so the application could display it's status via HTTP. I suppose I'll want to configure it through the http also. I am looking for an open-source library written in C# and with a licensing scheme that will allow me to link it into my existing closed source code (LGPL). Any suggestions of specific products or where to look first? It would be great if that product could have some kind of scripting, at least templates. All html output would go from the application, only resources would be stored on the disk (images, icons, ...) EDIT: I would like it to run under .NET 2.0, however.

  • Double join with habtm in ActiveRecord

    - by Daniel Huckstep
I have a weird situation involving the need of a double inner join. I have tried the query I need, I just don't know how to make rails do it. The Data Account (has_many :sites) Site (habtm :users, belongs_to :account) User (habtm :sites) Ignore that they are habtm or whatever, I can make them habtm or has_many :through. I want to be able to do @user.accounts or @account.users Then of course I should be able to do @user.accounts < @some_other_account And then have @user.sites include all the sites from @some_other_account. I've fiddled with habtm and has_many :through but can't get it to do what I want. Basically I need to end up with a query like this (copied from phpmyadmin. Tested and works): SELECT accounts.* FROM accounts INNER JOIN sites ON sites.account_id = accounts.id INNER JOIN user_sites ON sites.id = user_sites.site_id WHERE user_sites.user_id = 2 Can I do this? Is it even a good idea to have this double join? I am assuming it would work better if users had the association with accounts to begin with, and then worry about getting @user.sites instead, but it works better for many other things if it is kept the way it is (users <- sites).

  • Google Analytics - Goal Funnel Steps

    - by Daniel
Is there a way to test the url you're entering in a step, to see if Google Analytics will recognize it? What I'd like to do is provide some web page or some web service with a URL, and get a pass or fail. It passes if Google Analytics recognizes a page hit to the url. Let me give some context. We've been having issues with our goal funnel steps in Google Analytics. The instructions on adding steps say not to use the domain. e.g. DO NOT use : http://www.mysite.com/step1.html INSTEAD use: /step1.html Our custom CRM uses friendly urls and as a result GA is having a hard time picking up on them. So we've experimented with changing around url we've placed in the step, however we've got to wait a day to see if the new url we've provided is going to work! Hence why we're looking for something quicker.

  • F# function calling syntax confusion

    - by Daniel
I have a piece of code: links |> Seq.map (fun x -> x.GetAttributeValue ("href", "no url")) Which I wanted to rewrite to: links |> Seq.map (fun x -> (x.GetAttributeValue "href" "no url")) But the F# compiler doesn't seem to like that. I was under the impression that these two function calls were interchangeable: f (a, b) (f a b) The error that I get is: The member or object constructor 'GetAttributeValue' taking 2 arguments are not accessible from this code location. All accessible versions of method 'GetAttributeValue' take 2 arguments. Which seems amusing, as it seems to indicate that it needs what I'm giving it. What am I missing here?

  • How is the implicit segment register of a near pointer determined?

    - by Daniel Trebbien
In section 4.3 of Intel 64® and IA-32 Architectures Software Developer's Manual. Volume 1: Basic Architecture, it says: A near pointer is a 32-bit offset ... within a segment. Near pointers are used for all memory references in a flat memory model or for references in a segmented model where the identity of the segment being accessed is implied. This leads me to wondering: how is the implied segment register determined? I know that (%eip) and displaced (%eip) (e.g. -4(%eip)) addresses use %cs by default, and that (%esp) and displaced (%esp) addresses use %ss, but what about (%eax), (%edx), (%edi), (%ebp) etc., and can the implicit segment register depend also on the instruction that the memory address operand appears in?

  • Error reading file with accented vowels

The following statement to fill a list from a file : action = [] with open (os.getcwd() + "/files/" + "actions.txt") as temp:          action = list (temp) gives me the following error: (result, consumed) = self._buffer_decode (data, self.errors, end) UnicodeDecodeError: 'utf-8' codec can not decode byte 0xf1 in position 67: invalid continuation byte if I add errors = 'ignore': action = [] with open (os.getcwd () + "/ files /" + "actions.txt", errors = 'ignore') as temp:          action = list (temp) Is read the file but not the ñ and vowels accented á-é-í-ó-ú being that python 3 works, as I have understood, default to 'utf-8' I'm looking for a solution for two or more days, and I'm getting more confused. • possible to change a script when it is running?

    - by Daniel
Suppose a script has 1000 lines, and the 10 line has a command takes a long time to run and when I find it is running line 10, I find I need to change line 100, is it possible to do that without stop the script first? We can also stop a process by using command pstop, but I don't know how to let the process to re-read the script and continue to run from where it paused.

  • Java generic function for performing calculations on integer, on double?

    - by Daniel
Is this possible? Surely if you passed in a double, any sort of function implementation code which casts an object to an Integer would not be able to work unless the cast 'Integer' was specifically used? I have a function like: public static void increment(Object o){ Integer one = (Integer)o; system.out.println(one++); } I cant see how this could be made generic for a double? I tried public static <E> void increment(E obj){ E one = (E)o; system.out.println(one++); } but it didn't like it?

  • thresholding to distinguish small features in noisy data

    - by Daniel
Hi, I'm wondering what type of threshold would work well for distinguishing features that are very small (small in the xy sense) in comparison with the full spread, if that makes sense. The graythresh() function in Matlab that uses the Otsu method doesn't work too well for my data. Otsu is a clustering method where I think the # of pixels should be similar in each class, which is not the case for me so when I employ it I get a threshold that is way too small and falls well within a lot of the background noise that remains even after filtering.
