And how do I convert it to a datetime.datetime instance in python?
It's the output from the New York State Senate's API: http://open.nysenate.gov/legislation/.
I have the following code:
ifstream initFile;
initFile.open("D:\\InitTLM.csv");
if(initFile.is_open())
{
// Process file
}
The file is not opening. The file does exist on the D: drive. Is there a way to find out exactly why this file cannot be found? Like an "errno"?
Hello
While trying to understand how a web server worked, I came accross this:
//myfile.js
function donothing(){};
//myfile.html
javascript:donothing(open('http://www.acme.com/whatever.jpg','','left=100, right=0, top=100, scrollbars=no, status=no, titlebar=no, resizable=no, toolbar=no, menubar=no, width=255, height=255'))
I'm no JavaScript expert, so I don't get how an empty function can be made to work. Does someone know?
Thank you.
I'm learning Perl, and in a lot of the examples I see errors are handled like this
open FILE, "file.txt" or die $!;
Is die in the middle of a script really the best way to deal with an error?
Java is not my main programming language so I might be asking the obvious.
But is there a simple file-handling library in Java, like in python?
For example I just want to say:
File f = Open('file.txt', 'w')
for(String line:f){
//do something with the line from file
}
Thanks!
I'm looking for a much more idiomatic way to do the following little ruby script.
File.open("channels.xml").each do |line|
if line.match('(mms:\/\/{1}[a-zA-Z\.\d\/\w-]+)')
puts line.match('(mms:\/\/{1}[a-zA-Z\.\d\/\w-]+)')
end
end
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Has anybody done any benchmarking/evaluation of the popular open-source embedded SQL DBs for performance, particularly write performance? I've some 1:1 comparisons for sqlite, Firebird Embedded, Derby and HSQLDB (others I am missing?) but no across the board comparisons... Also, I'd be interested in the overall developer experience for any of these (for a Java app).
How do I parameterize a query containing an IN clause with a variable number of arguments, like this one?
select * from Tags
where Name in ('ruby','rails','scruffy','rubyonrails')
order by Count desc
In this query, the number of arguments could be anywhere from 1 to 5.
I would prefer not to use a dedicated stored procedure for this (or XML), but if there is some fancy SQL Server 2008 specific way of doing it elegantly, I am open to that.
When I read source from open source projects I often find a comment line with "$Id" at the header of the file, f. ex.:
// $Id: addappwindowa.c 30792 2009-03-07 22:40:04Z neil $
Is there an "offical" syntax for this lines? (What does "30792" means? )
Are there editors that auto-generate these "$Id"s?
Are there any tools that use this information?
I have a folder full of files and i want to search some string inside them. The issue is that some files may be zip,exe,ogg,etc.
Can i check somehow what kind of file is it so i only open and search through txt, php, etc files.
I can't rely on the file extension.
I created a jquery toggle, but when I click the link to open a div it will jump to the top of the page. how can I fix this?
I know I could replace the link with something else but I need to make it clear to the users that it's a link and that they can click on it.
So far, I've been successful with generating output to individual files by opening a file for output as part of outer loop and closing it after all output is written. I had used a counting variable ($x) and appended .txt onto it to create a filename, and had written it to the same directory as my perl script. I want to step the code up a bit, prompt for a file name from the user, open that file once and only once, and write my output one "printed letter" per page. Is this possible in plain text? From what I understand, chr(12) is an ascii line feed character and will get me close to what I want, but is there a better way? Thanks in advance, guys. :)
sub PersonalizeLetters{
print "\n\n Beginning finalization of letters...";
print "\n\n I need a filename to save these letters to.";
print "\n Filename > ";
$OutFileName = <stdin>;
chomp ($OutFileName);
open(OutFile, ">$OutFileName");
for ($x=0; $x<$NumRecords; $x++){
$xIndex = (6 * $x);
$clTitle = @ClientAoA[$xIndex];
$clName = @ClientAoA[$xIndex+1];
#I use this 6x multiplier because my records have 6 elements.
#For this routine I'm only interested in name and title.
#Reset OutLetter array
#Midletter has other merged fields that aren't specific to who's receiving the letter.
@OutLetter = @MiddleLetter;
for ($y=0; $y<=$ifLength; $y++){
#Step through line by line and insert the name.
$WorkLine = @OutLetter[$y];
$WorkLine =~ s/\[ClientTitle\]/$clTitle/;
$WorkLine =~ s/\[ClientName\]/$clName/;
@OutLetter[$y] = $WorkLine;
}
print OutFile "@OutLetter";
#Will chr(12) work here, or is there something better?
print OutFile chr(12);
$StatusX = $x+1;
print "Writing output $StatusX of $NumRecords... \n\n";
}
close(OutFile);
}
I need a cache some objects with fairly heavy creation times, and I need exactly-once creation semantics. It should be possible to create objects for different CacheKeys concurrently. I think I need something that (under the hood) does something like this:
ConcurrentHashMap<CacheKey, Future<HeavyObject>>
Are there any existing open-source implementations of this that I can re-use ?
In the Android open-source qemu code I ran across this line of code:
machine->max_cpus = machine->max_cpus ?: 1; /* Default to UP */
It this just a confusing way of saying:
if (machine->max_cpus) {
; //do nothing
} else {
machine->max_cpus = 1;
}
If so, wouldn't it be clearer as:
if (machine->max_cpus == 0) machine->max_cpus = 1;
Interestingly, this compiles and works fine with gcc, but doesn't compile on http://www.comeaucomputing.com/tryitout/ .
I am trying to calculate the innerwidth of jquery dialog (ui-1.8)
For somereason it is always returning 0. One reason perhaps is that the dialog is still hidden and not open??
Was using
$('#dialogId').innerwidth()
Any help?
How come this pop-up gets a size other than what I have specified, when testing it in IE6 and FireFox 3.6? Firefox displays it correctly but IE6 is smaller for some reason. (620x530 instead) How can I fix it?
<A id="myID" onclick="window.open('/sitecollectiondocuments/myPage.htm', 'welcome','width=630,height=590')" href="javascript:void(0)"></A>
here's my code:

My question is this: in many free iPhone apps adds which are basically imageViews are buttons. When pressed, they bring you to the iphone App store to buy whichever app was advertised. Can this be tweaked to open a hyperlink in the iphone's safari browser? and if so, how?
Hi guys

Below works on Python 2.6 but on Python 3.x it doesn't:
old_file_write = file.write
class file():
def write(self, d):
if isinstance(d, types.bytes):
self.buffer.write(d)
else:
old_file_write(d)
# ... do something like f = open("x") f.write("...")
The problems is that with Python 3.x the first like will generate an error:
NameError: name 'file' is not defined
How can I make this work on Python 3.x?
PS. In fact I'm looking for a solution that will work on both versions.
Is it possible to load a short video file and - once loaded - select a specific frame and display that frame in a view? If there is no native support for this, how about an open source alternative?
Thanks in advance.

Is there any existing Python library that can validate data in Excel format? Or what kind of keyword should I use to search such an open source project? Thanks.
I would like to display all the subjects of email received on a website. Is there an open source "pop to php" script? Or a service I can use directly?
Any help is appreciated! thanks!
