  • firefox render order problem with div tag

    I have a div tag which I populate dynamically. The problem is that in Firefox when i do a test for size(height) I seem to need to run it twice in order to get the correct size. This is the code: alert("h = " + h + " height:" + document.getElementById("thumbDiv").clientHeight); Ignore 'h' for the time being, what I am curious to know is what is the correct way to get the div tags height in firefox. In ie I use offsetHeight which works for my purposes perfectly. The other thing is the render order in firefox. I populate the div and then query the height with .clientHeight and I get 102, which is I am assuming the empty height of the tag as I have set no height via style, if I press the button again I then get the height of the div with the enlcosed html page which I am pushing into the div. Its odd, and slightly annoying. I am trying to determine if there is enough room in the browser to display the div contents in their entireity, if not then I am disabling certain features otherwise I get into an infinite scroll problem...   • In Node.js, how can I load my modules once and then use them throughout the app?

    I want to create one global module file, and then have all my files require that global module file. Inside that file, I would load all the modules once and export a dictionary of loaded modules. How can I do that? I actually tried creating this file...and every time I require('global_modules'), all the modules kept reloading. It's O(n). I want the file to be something like this (but it doesn't work): //global_modules.js - only load these one time var modules = { account_controller: '/account/controller.js', account_middleware: '/account/middleware.js', products_controller: '/products/controller.js', ... } exports.modules = modules;

  • returning JSON response to a ajax call prompts file download containing the response

    i am submitting a from using jQuery ajax, and server is returning json response. but instead of the script, parsing the json result, the browser is prompting me to download the json response. I have had this problem before, where i forgot to return false at the end of the event handler. But this time im clueless why this is happening. anyone has experienced this problem.. thanks

  • POST data disapearing on large file upload

    I'm having issues with a file uploading utility in my PHP application. When sending large files (9MB+) over the form, I get a very odd behaviour: the POST data I've included in the form dissapears, including the file information. I've already increased all PHP limits I could (time limit, max input time, post max size, memory limit and upload max filesize) and I still can't get the proper behaviour. I've tried replacing the regular HTTP forms with a Flash-based solution (SWFUpload, www.swfupload.org), still the same behaviour. I've tried multiple files of similar sizes and its definitely not a particular file issue. I've debugged the POST vars sent using Firebug, and the correct variables are still there in the header, together with the file. What could be going on here?

  • Window parent not working in IE 8

    I have a parent page and a child page. By using window.opener.parent property,I am able to read the parent page content and display it in the child page.(There is a PREVIEW button on parent page,on click of which the child page opens up as a popup and displays the content of parent page controls.) This functionality was working fine in IE7/Mozilla/IE6 but I am unable to locate why its not workin with IE8. Can anyone please help?

My array looks like this: //$_SESSION['data'] = Array ( [0] => 1 [1] => 0 [2] => Tom [8] => 1 [4] => 1 [5] => Array ( [7] => Array ( [0] => Andrew [1] => 1 [2] => 1 [4] => 0 [5] => avatar.jpg [6] => 1 ) ) [6] => Array ( [0] => 1 [1] => 2 ) ) So in my JS file i have this: var stats = <? echo $_SESSION['data'][5]); ?> ; //this is the array my_data = new Array(); for(var key in stats){ if(key in my_data){} else { //prevent double entry my_data[key] = new Array(); my_data[key][0] = stats[key][6]; my_data[key][1] = stats[key][5]; my_data[key][2] = stats[key][2]; my_data[key][3] = stats[key][0]; } } console.log(my_data); Now in console.log i get this : [undefined × 7, Array[4] 0: "1" 1: "avatar.jpg" 2: "1" 3: "Andrew" length: 4 __proto__: Array[0] ] I'm wondering why it is saying undefined x7?

    I'm trying to append more than one Google Map to a page. But it seems like I'm having some trouble.     Hi all, I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to access a hidden field (by client id) within a table row using jquery. $("#tblOne").find("tr").click(function() { var worker = $(this).find(":input").val(); }); I find that the above works for a row that has only one input, but i need some help figuring out a way to get the value by the inputs name. Here's the example of a table row.   • Applying a partial gaussian like blur to a background image

    I have and image which gets stretched to its full background, regardless of the monitor size. What i need to do is apply cross-browser blur above this image on only a portion of the left hand side. So it gives the appearance of a blur on the image. If i apply it to the image then when the screen resolution changes size so does the size of the blur. Any help would be great. Cheers

  • CakePHP: Ajax view problem (nothing in the view showing)

    I created a function in my controller called addToPlaylist($songName). I wanted to add these song names to an array and then a session variable using an Ajax call. The first time i did this i got an error saying i do not have a template file to display in the chosen div ("add_to_playlist.ctp was missing"). I created this file and everything seemed to be working correctly. Basically I went to bed woke up and it is broken (it is possible I changed something before I went to bed). The problem now is that it does not show anything when i click the ajax link. when i click on the ajax link it seems to call the function but nothing displays in the view (except debug info) even when i delete the view (add_to_playlist.ctp) i get no errors, I just see debug info now.

    Hey, Is it possible that the same name used can have many different values stored separately and to be shown in a list? e.g. function save() { var inputfield = document.getElementById('field').innerHTML; localStorage['justified'] = inputfield; } <input type="text" id="field" onclick="save();" /> Everytime someone enters something in the input field, and click on save, the localstorage will only save the value in the same name, however, does this conflict the way storage are saved, like being replaced with the latest input value? Also, is there anyway to prevent clearing the localstorage when clearing the cache? Thanks.

I want it it so that if you drag an element out of the container (when the mouse crosses the border of the containing div) the element you're dragging to change. How do I arrange this? $("#container img").draggable({ helper: 'clone', zIndex: 100 }); Once the image crosses the bounds of "#container" I should be able to change the image source.
