• Having trouble deselecting all jquery tabs

  I set up some jQuery tabs to start off with no tabs selected like this: $('#tabs').tabs( { selected: -1 } ); Then I also have a separate link that when pressed needs to deselect all the tabs. $("#deselectButton").click(function(){ $('#tabs').tabs( 'select' , -1 ) }); or $("#deselectButton").click(function(){ $('#tabs').tabs( 'selected' , -1 ) }); The deselectButton click does deselect the tabs content, however the tabs title remains active with the class 'ui-tabs-selected ui-state-active'. What is the correct way to deselect all the tabs?

• adding visual effects to RJS before action rendered

  I just started using RJS which is awesome however I am used to putting visual effects in the link_to_remote and such and I'm not sure how to trigger actions before and after remotes are triggered. • Problem linking SDL_Image against libpng

  I'm trying to compile SDL_Image 1.2.10 with MinGW + MSys (gcc 4.5.0) on Windows, I have compiled all the requires libs (zlib 1.2.5, libpng 1.4.2, libjpeg 8a, libtiff 3.9.2). SDL_Image compiles fine, but fails to link to libpng, throwing .libs/IMG_png.o:IMG_png.c:(.text+0x16): undefined reference errors on various png structs. If I run ./configure --prefix=/mingw --disable-png for SDL_Image, it compiles and links against the other libs just fine. I have tried older versions of libpng (1.2.43), but they also caused SDL_Image to throw the same errors.

• Addressing "Access Denied" Exception with WMI Calls

  I'm getting an exception with a message of "Access Denied" when executing against a WMI request. Some WMI requests appear to require higher security privileges than others. Ultimately my goal is to monitor process launches within the system and log. Regardless if there is a better approach, its now become a vendetta in getting this WMI approach to work. I've attempted the code at Security Tools - WMI Programming Using C#.Net and still receive the exception. If you copy the code found in the blog entry you can reproduce my issue. Another post on a similar topic can be found at link text but again, try the code and you'll the see the same security exception. How do I permit my code to execute these WMI requests? I'm running on Windows 7 Pro and VS 2010 in a new C# command line project.

• System.UnauthorizedAccessException from Serial Port in VB.NET

  I am using VB.NET 2008 Express Edition to access Serial Port which is a USB to Serial port. Since this is removable, the app user can disconnect it at any time in app. I am getting an unhandled exception when I remove the USB Serial Port. After research, it seems like a known problem in .NET (even in 3.5) I am looking for some solution to get this done. • Wordpress order/sort problem

  Hi, The Problem: I would like to sort my posts based on custom fields, when the user clicks on a link. I don't know if there is a parameter that can be passed via url to reorder posts. Comparison: I would like it to work similar to how you can sort songs in iTunes. The user simply clicks the "Artist" button and the songs are reorder alphabetically by artist's name. Example: The custom field could be the location where I was when I wrote the post. "Location = home" or "Location = office" etc. When the user click a links the page is reload with the posts reordered. Posts from home before ones from the office. Thanks for the help.

  (using Python-Sphinx Documentation tool) I have a .txt log file I'd like to build into _build/html unaltered. What do I need to alter in conf.py, index.rst, etc. Here is the layout: src/ index.rst some_doc.rst somefile.txt How do I get somefile.txt into the html build? I tried adding a line like this to index.rst: Contents: .. toctree:: :maxdepth: 2 some_doc "somefile.txt" hoping it would work by magic, but no magic here! Assuming this is even possible, what would I put in some_doc.rst to refer/link to that file? Note Yes, I'm aware I could put it in /static and just be done with it, but that seems like a total hack, and ugly.

  I have a simple PHP script that will either serve up a streaming ASF file or not, depending on whether you're logged in and have access to the file. It basically does this: <?php header('Content-Type: video/x-ms-asf'); header('Content-Disposition: inline; filename="file.asf"'); readfile('file.asf'); ?> This already works fine in Firefox; when you navigate to this file it starts the video streaming right away. But Internet Explorer is a different story. When I go to this link in IE, it consistently tries to download the file as if it were an attachment rather than streaming it in the browser. What I am missing that IE's getting hung up on?

  i am designing a site with a comment system and i would like a twitter like reply system. The if the user puts @a_registered_username i would like it to become a link to the user's profile. i think preg_replace is the function needed for this. $ALL_USERS_ROW *['USERNAME'] is the database query array for all the users and ['USERNAME'] is the username row. $content is the comment containing the @username i think this should not be very hard to solve for someone who is good at php. Does anybody have any idea how to do it?

Update A Team can have any number of Coaches and Rowers, a Rower can be in many Teams (Team A, B, C etc) and a Team can have many Coaches.

• Jquery live not working in IE

  Hi, I have some code that works fine in FF but not in IE. I have read other posts saying that the Jquery live method does not support change events but I am using a click event. Here is my code, it is inside $(document).ready(function(): $("a").live("click", function(e) { alert("link clicked"); //do stuff }); If FF the alert is fired but not in IE. When I use $("a").click it works fine, the problem is that I need to the function to be applied to links that do not exist when the page is first loaded (they will be created via ajax calls at a later stage). Do I have any options here. We are using jquery-1.4.1.min.js. Thanks in advance

  I'm serving ads using OpenX within Rails. To correctly use the OpenX full page invocation you need to set Oa_zones[] array, otherwise all available ads are requested (but will never be used). These are the necessary pieces: Build an array of zones. Ideally zones could be added in any partial, so working with this array needs to be accessible throughout the view. Output full page invocation link ie. delivery/spcjs.php?id=1&block=1 Output zones The problem is, the full page invocation script can't be loaded until the zone array is built (and instantiated in JavaScript). At the same time, the zone array can't be built until the entire view has been rendered.

• jQuery stopPropagation bubble down

  I have a div with a link inside of it: <div id="myDiv"> <a href="http://www.lol.com">Lol</a> </div> Clicking the <div /> should go somewhere, but clicking the child <a /> should go to www.lol.com. I've seen from previous questions and the jQuery website that .stopPropagation prevents bubbling upwards, but how do I prevent a bubble downwards (isn't that what's necessary here?).

• Filter user input (paragraph) for links + smileys

  Hello, I am looking at some sort of existing filter which can sanitize the user input to avoid XSS. Probably I can use htmlspecialchars for that. But at the same time I want to be able to parse all links (should match a.com, www.a.com and http://www.a.com and if it is http://www.aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.com then it should display it as aaa..a.com), e-mails and smileys. I am wondering what is the best way to go about it. I am currently using a php function with some regex, but many times the regex simply fails (because of link recognition is incorrect etc.). I want something very similar to the parser used during Google Chat (even a.com works). Thank you for your time.

  Different SOA Domain Configurations In this blog entry I would like to introduce three different configurations for a SOA environment.  I have omitted load balancers and OTD/OHS as they introduce a whole new round of discussion.  For each possible deployment architecture I have identified some of the advantages. Super Domain This is a single EDG style domain for everything needed for SOA/OSB.   It extends the standard EDG slightly but otherwise assumes a single “super” domain. This is basically the SOA EDG.  I have broken out JMS servers and Coherence servers to improve scalability and reduce dependencies. Key Points Separate JMS allows those servers to be kept up separately from rest of SOA Domain, allowing JMS clients to post messages even if rest of domain is unavailable. JMS servers are only used to host application specific JMS destinations, SOA/OSB JMS destinations remain in relevant SOA/OSB managed servers. Separate Coherence servers allow OSB cache to be offloaded from OSB servers. Use of Coherence by other components as a shared infrastructure data grid service. Coherence cluster may be managed by WLS but more likely run as a standalone Coherence cluster. Benefits Single Administration Point (1 Admin Server) Closely follows EDG with addition of application specific JMS servers and standalone Coherence servers for OSB caching and application specific caches. Coherence grid can be scaled independent of OSB/SOA. JMS queues provide for inter-application communication. Drawbacks Patching is an all or nothing affair. Startup time for SOA may be slow if large number of composites deployed. Multiple Domains This extends the EDG into multiple domains, allowing separate management and update of these domains.  I see this type of configuration quite often with customers, although some don't have OWSM, others don't have separate Coherence etc. SOA & BAM are kept in the same domain as little benefit is obtained by separating them. Key Points Separate JMS allows those servers to be kept up separately from rest of SOA Domain, allowing JMS clients to post messages even if other domains are unavailable. JMS servers are only used to host application specific JMS destinations, SOA/OSB JMS destinations remain in relevant SOA/OSB managed servers. Separate Coherence servers allow OSB cache to be offloaded from OSB servers. Use of Coherence by other components as a shared infrastructure data grid service. Coherence cluster may be managed by WLS but more likely run as a standalone Coherence cluster. Additional homes needed to enjoy benefits of separate patching. Cross domain trust needs setting up to simplify cross domain interactions. Startup time for SOA may be slow if large number of composites deployed. Shared Service Environment This model extends the previous multiple domain arrangement to provide a true shared service environment.This extends the previous model by allowing multiple additional SOA domains and/or other domains to take advantage of the shared services.  Only one non-shared domain is shown, but there could be multiple, allowing groups of applications to share patching independent of other application groups. Key Points Separate JMS allows those servers to be kept up separately from rest of SOA Domain, allowing JMS clients to post messages even if other domains are unavailable. JMS servers are only used to host application specific JMS destinations, SOA/OSB JMS destinations remain in relevant SOA/OSB managed servers. Separate Coherence servers allow OSB cache to be offloaded from OSB servers. Use of Coherence by other components as a shared infrastructure data grid service Coherence cluster may be managed by WLS but more likely run as a standalone Coherence cluster. Supports large numbers of deployed composites in multiple domains. Single URL for Human Workflow end users. Single URL for BAM end users. Drawbacks Multiple domains to manage and configure. Cross domain trust needs setting up to simplify cross domain interactions. Human Workflow needs to be specially configured to point to shared services domain. Summary The alternatives in this blog allow for patching to have different impacts, depending on the model chosen.  Each organization must decide the tradeoffs for itself.  One extreme is to go for the shared services model and have one domain per SOA application.  This requires a lot of administration of the multiple domains.  The other extreme is to have a single super domain.  This makes the entire enterprise susceptible to an outage at the same time due to patching or other domain level changes.  Hopefully this blog will help your organization choose the right model for you.

• How to delete data in DB efficiently using LinQ to NHibernate (one-shot-delete)

  Hello, producing software for customers, mostly using MS SQL but some Oracle, a decision was made to plunge into Nhibernate (and C#). The task is to delete efficiently e.g. 10 000 rows from 100 000 and still stay sticked to ORM. I've tried named queries - link already, IQuery sql = s.GetNamedQuery("native-delete-car").SetString(0, "Kirsten"); sql.ExecuteUpdate(); but the best I have ever found seems to be: using (ITransaction tx = _session.BeginTransaction()) { try { string cmd = "delete from Customer where Id < GetSomeId()"; var count = _session.CreateSQLQuery(cmd).ExecuteUpdate(); ... Since it may not get into dB to get all complete rows before deleting them. My questions are: If there is a better way for this kind of delete. If there is a possibility to get the Where condition for Delete like this: Having a select statement (using LinQ to NHibernate) = which will generate appropriate SQL for DB = we get that Where condition and use it for Delete.
