  • Problem reading from two separate InputStreams

    - by Emil H
I'm building a Yammer client for Android in Scala and have encountered the following issue. When two AsyncTasks try to parse an XML response (not the same, each task has it's own InputStream) from the Yammer API the underlying stream throws a IOException with the message "null SSL pointer", as seen below: Uncaught handler: thread AsyncTask #1 exiting due to uncaught exception java.lang.RuntimeException: An error occured while executing doInBackground() at android.os.AsyncTask$3.done(AsyncTask.java:200) at java.util.concurrent.FutureTask$Sync.innerSetException(FutureTask.java:234) at java.util.concurrent.FutureTask$Sync.innerRun(FutureTask.java:258) at java.util.concurrent.FutureTask.run(FutureTask.java:122) at java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.runTask(ThreadPoolExecutor.java:648) at java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.run(ThreadPoolExecutor.java:673) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:1060) Caused by: java.io.IOException: null SSL pointer at org.apache.harmony.xnet.provider.jsse.OpenSSLSocketImpl.nativeread(Native Method) at org.apache.harmony.xnet.provider.jsse.OpenSSLSocketImpl.access$300(OpenSSLSocketImpl.java:55) at org.apache.harmony.xnet.provider.jsse.OpenSSLSocketImpl$SSLInputStream.read(OpenSSLSocketImpl.java:524) at org.apache.http.impl.io.AbstractSessionInputBuffer.fillBuffer(AbstractSessionInputBuffer.java:103) at org.apache.http.impl.io.AbstractSessionInputBuffer.read(AbstractSessionInputBuffer.java:134) at org.apache.http.impl.io.ContentLengthInputStream.read(ContentLengthInputStream.java:174) at org.apache.http.impl.io.ContentLengthInputStream.read(ContentLengthInputStream.java:188) at org.apache.http.conn.EofSensorInputStream.read(EofSensorInputStream.java:178) at org.apache.harmony.xml.ExpatParser.parseFragment(ExpatParser.java:504) at org.apache.harmony.xml.ExpatParser.parseDocument(ExpatParser.java:467) at org.apache.harmony.xml.ExpatReader.parse(ExpatReader.java:329) at org.apache.harmony.xml.ExpatReader.parse(ExpatReader.java:286) at javax.xml.parsers.SAXParser.parse(SAXParser.java:361) at org.mediocre.util.XMLParser$.loadXML(XMLParser.scala:28) at org.mediocre.util.XMLParser$.loadXML(XMLParser.scala:12) ..... Searching for the error didn't give much clarity. Does this have something to do with the response from the server? Or is it something else? Complete code can be found at: http://github.com/archevel/YammerTime I get no error if I wait until the first repsponse is finished and then let the other complete. The request is made with the DefaultHttpClient, but this is supposedly thread safe. What am I missing? If anything needs to be clarified just ask :) Cheers, Emil H

  • Is there a way to update a ViewModel in MVC2?

    - by Juvaly
This code works: [HttpPost] public ActionResult Edit(int id, FormCollection fc) { Movie movie = ( from m in _ctx.Movie.Include("MovieActors") where m.MovieID == id select m ).First(); MovieActorViewModel movieActor = new MovieActorViewModel(movie); if (TryUpdateModel(movieActor)) { _ctx.ApplyPropertyChanges(movieActor.Movie.EntityKey.EntitySetName, movieActor.Movie); _ctx.SaveChanges(); } return View(movieActor); } However, I am not sure how to test this, and in general would much rather have the method take a typed model like: [HttpPost] public ActionResult Edit(MovieActorViewModel movieActor) Is this possible? What changes to my MovieActorViewModel class do I need to make in order to enable this? That class looks like this: public class MovieActorViewModel { public Movie Movie { get; set; } public Actor Actor { get; set; } public PublisherDealViewModel(Movie movie) { this.Movie = movie; this.Actor = ( from a in this.Movie.Actors where a.ActorID == 1 select a ).First(); } } The view is typed (inherits ViewPage) simple: <% using (Html.BeginForm()) {%> Movie Title: <%= Html.TextBoxFor(model=>model.Movie.Title) %><br/> Actor Name: <%= Html.TextBoxFor(model=>model.Actor.Name) %> <% } %>

  • Adding a navigation bar to a web view in a tab bar app

    - by Henrik Erlandsson
I've built the tab bar application in IB, with three tabs. The third tab happily displays a UIWebview where you can browse. The only thing missing is a back button, as not all web pages supply such a link. I need a navigation bar hooked up properly to the correct classes. I'm still a bit unsure about exactly how the hierarchy should look in interface builder and how to hook it up properly. Currently, the third tab is hooked up to a referencing outlet called 'webnews' in the class 'thirdviewcontroller', and the UIWebView (under a normal IUView in the hierarchy, which in turn is under the third tab bar controller) is connected to the webnews outlet. How do I make the navbar control the webview, and do I add code to the thirdviewcontroller.m that lets the navbar on the view control the webview 'back' function? What do I hook up as the delegate for it? Currently I have an app delegate, but that's hooked up to the tab bar. I'm not really after specific code as much as a general 'how it works' clue :) (Unless I can just add the navbar dynamically to the functioning app... but I don't think addSubView on viewWillAppear {} in thirdviewcontroller.m will create the proper functionality?) If I were to guess at the simplest solution, I'd guess create a navbarcontroller.h/.m, slap a navbar on the view in IB, connect the third tab to navbarcontroller, connect the navbar to the webview (?) and move the webnews outlet to navbarcontroller.h, and connect the webview to it. But I don't quite have the nerve to try, better to ask advice first.

  • Setting custom behaviour via .config file - why doesn't this work?

    - by Andrew Shepherd
I am attempting to insert a custom behavior into my service client, following the example here. I appear to be following all of the steps, but I am getting a ConfigurationErrorsException. Is there anyone more experienced than me who can spot what I'm doing wrong? Here is the entire app.config file. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <configuration> <system.serviceModel> <behaviors> <endpointBehaviors> <behavior name="ClientLoggingEndpointBehaviour"> <myLoggerExtension /> </behavior> </endpointBehaviors> </behaviors> <extensions> <behaviorExtensions> <add name="myLoggerExtension" type="ChatClient.ClientLoggingEndpointBehaviourExtension, ChatClient, Version=0.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null"/> </behaviorExtensions> </extensions> <bindings> </bindings> <client> <endpoint behaviorConfiguration="ClientLoggingEndpointBehaviour" name="ChatRoomClientEndpoint" address="http://localhost:8016/ChatRoom" binding="wsDualHttpBinding" contract="ChatRoomLib.IChatRoom" /> </client> </system.serviceModel> </configuration> Here is the exception message: An error occurred creating the configuration section handler for system.serviceModel/behaviors: Extension element 'myLoggerExtension' cannot be added to this element. Verify that the extension is registered in the extension collection at system.serviceModel/extensions/behaviorExtensions. Parameter name: element (C:\Documents and Settings\Andrew Shepherd\My Documents\Visual Studio 2008\Projects\WcfPractice\ChatClient\bin\Debug\ChatClient.vshost.exe.config line 5) I know that I've correctly written the reference to the ClientLoggingEndpointBehaviourExtensionobject, because through the debugger I can see it being instantiated.

  • Annoying Twisted Python problem

    - by Kalmi
I'm trying to answer the following question out of personal interest: What is the fastest way to send 100,000 HTTP requests in Python? And this is what I have came up so far, but I'm experiencing something very stange. When installSignalHandlers is True, it just hangs. I can see that the DelayedCall instances are in reactor._newTimedCalls, but processResponse never gets called. When installSignalHandlers is False, it throws an error and works. from twisted.internet import reactor from twisted.web.client import Agent from threading import Semaphore, Thread import time concurrent = 100 s = Semaphore(concurrent) reactor.suggestThreadPoolSize(concurrent) t=Thread( target=reactor.run, kwargs={'installSignalHandlers':True}) t.daemon=True t.start() agent = Agent(reactor) def processResponse(response, url): print response.code, url s.release() def processError(response, url): print "error", url s.release() def addTask(url): req = agent.request('HEAD', url) req.addCallback(processResponse, url) req.addErrback(processError, url) for url in open('urllist.txt'): addTask(url.strip()) s.acquire() while s._Semaphore__value!=concurrent: time.sleep(0.1) reactor.stop() And here is the error that it throws when installSignalHandlers is True: (Note: This is the expected behaviour! The question is why it doesn't work when installSignalHandlers is False.) • How to avoid timeouts in WCF?

    - by Jader Dias
I use netNamedPipeBinding, and my service methods return nothing (void), but they timeout: TimeoutException: "The open operation did not complete within the allotted timeout of 00:01:00. But the timeout still occurs. I expected that it solved my problem. Its the netMsmqBinding the only one that could avoid such timeout? I also tried to make all processing in a separate thread, so the service can disconnect earlier, with no success.

  • Using Enterprise Library DAAB in C# Console Project

    - by Kayes
How can I prepare the configuration settings (App.config, maybe?) I need to use Enterprise Library Data Access Application Block in a C# console project? • iPhone User Interface Design

    - by Blaenk
Hey guys, I've just had a nagging question for a while regarding iPhone app user interfaces. For example, consider WeightBot's User Interface. I am wondering, how are most of these user interfaces created? In general, of course. Is there a way to simply design controls (that is, the images) in a program like Photoshop, then use that 'skin' for controls in UIKit? I realize that there are some controls that are probably created by the programmer (custom controls), but I'm referring to the ready-made ones that come in UIKit. In other words, is the concept similar to 'splicing' web site designs? Where a designer draws out the design of the website in something like Photoshop, and then it is cut up into pieces which can be applied to form the actual website? I know this can be done for UIButtons, can this also be done for other controls, and is this how it is usually done? Or perhaps this is done with Core Animation? I've heard this from time to time, so does this mean that the User Interfaces are 'hard-coded'? Or is Core Animation only use for the 'effects', such as applying the glowing effect to the numbers in WeightBot? If there are any resources you can point me to I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

  • Playing online video on iphone web, the iphone seems to cache the reference movie

    - by Mad Oxyn
We are working on an online mobile video app, and are trying to play a reference movie on an iphone from the iphone browser. The problem is, the movie plays the first time, but when we try to play a different movie the second time, it doesnt. Quicktime gives a general error message sayin "Cannot Play Movie". More precisely this is what we are trying to do: Connect with an iPhone to a webserver that serves a reference movie (generated with quicktime pro). The ref movie automatically gets downloaded to the iphone by quicktime. Quicktime then chooses one of the 3 references in the reference movie, based on the connection speed, and tries to download the designated movie via a relative path. A servlet gets called and forwards the relative path to the right movie. This all works the first time. However the second time when we want download different movies, we get the quicktime error. Test case: Open reference movie 1 Movie plays in Quicktime Open reference movie 2 ERROR: Quicktime gives an error - Cannot Play Movie Shut down Iphone Turn Iphone on again Open reference movie 2 Iphone plays movie Open movie ERROR: Quicktime gives an error - Cannot Play Movie Did anyone encounter similar issues with quicktime and the use of reference movies and is there something we can do to work around that?

  • That assembly does not allow partially trusted callers although the zone is fully trusted.

    - by Frederik Gheysels
Since yesterday, I receive a security exception when I want to run a unit-test from within VS.NET 2008. The error goes like this: SecurityException: that assembly does not allow partially trusted callers ... The assembly that failed was : file:///S:/MyProject/MyAssembly.dll The S: drive is a mapped drive which points to a physical location on my disk. What I find very strange, is that this used to work for months previously. I mean, I did this all the time. In order to get this to work, I 've created a new security zone with the caspol utility in order to give this S: network share drive FullTrust. In other words, when I run caspol -m -lg I see this (I removed the other zones for the sake of brevity): 1.2. Zone - Intranet: LocalIntranet 1.2.1. All code: Same site Web 1.2.2. All code: Same directory FileIO - 'Read, PathDiscovery' 1.2.3. Url - file://R:/*: FullTrust 1.2.4. Url - file://S:/*: FullTrust 1.2.5. Url - file:///S:/*: FullTrust I've added the 1.2.5 zone just recently because the error that was given, mentionned file:///s:/.... Any ideas ? Could it be that this has something to do with the installation of VS.NET 2010 or the .NET Framework version 4.0 ?

  • dynamically create class in scala, should I use interpreter?

    - by Phil
Hi, I want to create a class at run-time in Scala. For now, just consider a simple case where I want to make the equivalent of a java bean with some attributes, I only know these attributes at run time. How can I create the scala class? I am willing to create from scala source file if there is a way to compile it and load it at run time, I may want to as I sometimes have some complex function I want to add to the class. How can I do it? I worry that the scala interpreter which I read about is sandboxing the interpreted code that it loads so that it won't be available to the general application hosting the interpreter? If this is the case, then I wouldn't be able to use the dynamically loaded scala class. Anyway, the question is, how can I dynamically create a scala class at run time and use it in my application, best case is to load it from a scala source file at run time, something like interpreterSource("file.scala") and its loaded into my current runtime, second best case is some creation by calling methods ie. createClass(...) to create it at runtime. Thanks, Phil

  • php: how to return an HTTP 500 code on any error, no matter what

    - by Jake
Hi guys. I'm writing an authentication script in PHP, to be called as an API, that needs to return 200 only in the case that it approves the request, and 403 (Forbidden) or 500 otherwise. The problem I'm running into is that php returns 200 in the case of error conditions, outputting the error as html instead. How can I make absolutely sure that php will return an HTTP 500 code unless I explicitly return the HTTP 200 or HTTP 403 myself? In other words, I want to turn any and all warning or error conditions into 500s, no exceptions, so that the default case is rejecting the authentication request, and the exception is approving it with a 200 code. I've fiddled with set_error_handler() and error_reporting(), but so far no luck. For example, if the code outputs something before I send the HTTP response code, PHP naturally reports that you can't modify header information after outputting anything. However, this is reported by PHP as a 200 response code with html explaining the problem. I need even this kind of thing to be turned into a 500 code. Is this possible in PHP? Or do I need to do this at a higher level like using mod_rewrite somehow? If that's the case, any idea how I'd set that up? Thanks for any help. Jake

  • Post on a logged in users facebook wall

    - by Matt Nathanson
Hey all, I've created a widget that will essentially unlock a music track, providing you post to either your twitter account, or facebook wall. I've signed up through facebook connect and I am able to successfully post onto my own wall... but the functionality I'm looking for is to be able to take ones username and password and automatically log in to facebook, and send my desired message. Like I said, it posts on my wall successfully, it's just not using the username and password from the field to log in to their respective facebooks and post. <?php $facename = $_POST['facename']; $facepass = $_POST['facepass']; define('FB_APIKEY', 'my_api_key'); define('FB_SECRET', 'my_secret_phrase_'); define('FB_SESSION', 'my_session_id'); require_once('facebook.php'); echo "post on wall"; try { $facebook = new Facebook(FB_APIKEY, FB_SECRET); $facebook->api_client->session_key = FB_SESSION; $fetch = array('friends' => array('pattern' => '.*', 'query' => "select uid2 from friend where uid1={$facename}")); echo $facebook->api_client->admin_setAppProperties(array('preload_fql' => json_encode($fetch))); $message = 'I downloaded Automatic Loveletter\'s new single \'To Die For\' here!'; if( $facebook->api_client->stream_publish($message)) echo "Added on FB Wall"; } catch(Exception $e) { echo $e . Source=".Net SqlClient Data Provider" ErrorCode=-2146232060 Class=16 LineNumber=7 Number=241 Procedure="spTEST_InsertXMLTEST_TEST" Server="" State=1 StackTrace: at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection.OnError(SqlException exception, Boolean breakConnection) at System.Data.SqlClient.TdsParser.ThrowExceptionAndWarning(TdsParserStateObject stateObj) at System.Data.SqlClient.TdsParser.Run(RunBehavior runBehavior, SqlCommand cmdHandler, SqlDataReader dataStream, BulkCopySimpleResultSet bulkCopyHandler, TdsParserStateObject stateObj) I am not sure why when I just take the datetime in the generated xml file and manually copy it into sql server 2005 it has no problem with it and converts it just fine. This is my SP CREATE PROCEDURE [dbo].[spTEST_InsertXMLTEST_TEST](@UpdatedProdData nText) AS DECLARE @hDoc int exec sp_xml_preparedocument @hDoc OUTPUT,@UpdatedProdData INSERT INTO UserTable(CreateDate) SELECT XMLProdTable.CreateDate FROM OPENXML(@hDoc, 'ArrayOfUserTable/UserTable', 2) WITH ( CreateDate datetime ) XMLProdTable EXEC sp_xml_removedocument @hDoc C# code using (TestDataContext db = new TestDataContext()) { UserTable[] testRecords = new UserTable[1]; for (int count = 0; count < 1; count++) { UserTable testRecord = new UserTable() { CreateDate = DateTime. Now }; testRecords[count] = testRecord; } StringBuilder sBuilder = new StringBuilder(); System.IO.StringWriter sWriter = new System.IO.StringWriter(sBuilder); XmlSerializer serializer = new XmlSerializer(typeof(UserTable[])); serializer.Serialize(sWriter, testRecords); db.spTEST_InsertXMLTEST_TEST(sBuilder.ToString()); } Rendered XML Doc <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16"?> <ArrayOfUserTable xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"> <UserTable> <CreateDate>2010-05-19T19:35:54.9339251-07:00</CreateDate> </UserTable> </ArrayOfUserTable>

  • using wget against protected site with NTLM

    - by Joey V.
Trying to mirror a local intranet site and have found previous questions using 'wget'. It works great with sites that are anonymous, but I have not been able to use it against a site that is expecting username\password (IIS with Integrated Windows Authentication). Here is what I pass in: wget -c --http-user='domain\user' --http-password=pwd http://local/site -dv Here is the debug output (note I replaced some with dummy values obviously): Setting --verbose (verbose) to 1 DEBUG output created by Wget 1.11.4 on Windows-MSVC. --2009-07-14 09:39:04-- http://local/site Host `local' has not issued a general basic challenge. • RSA Decrypting a string in C# which was encrypted with openssl in php 5.3.2

    - by panny
maybe someone can clear me up. I have been surfing on this a while now. I used openssl from console to create a root certificate for me (privatekey.pem, publickey.pem, mycert.pem, mycertprivatekey.pfx). See the end of this text on how. The problem is still to get a string encrypted on the PHP side to be decrypted on the C# side with RSACryptoServiceProvider. Any ideas? PHP side I used the publickey.pem to read it into php: $server_public_key = openssl_pkey_get_public(file_get_contents("C:\publickey.pem")); // rsa encrypt openssl_public_encrypt("123", $encrypted, $server_public_key); and the privatekey.pem to check if it works: openssl_private_decrypt($encrypted, $decrypted, openssl_get_privatekey(file_get_contents("C:\privatekey.pem"))); Coming to the conclusion, that encryption/decryption works fine on the php side with these openssl root certificate files. C# side In same manner I read the keys into a .net C# console program: X509Certificate2 myCert2 = new X509Certificate2(); RSACryptoServiceProvider rsa = new RSACryptoServiceProvider(); try { myCert2 = new X509Certificate2(@"C:\mycertprivatekey.pfx"); rsa = (RSACryptoServiceProvider)myCert2.PrivateKey; } catch (Exception e) { } string t = Convert.ToString(rsa.Decrypt(rsa.Encrypt(test, false), false)); coming to the point, that encryption/decryption works fine on the c# side with these openssl root certificate files. key generation on unix 1) openssl req -x509 -nodes -days 3650 -newkey rsa:1024 -keyout privatekey.pem -out mycert.pem 2) openssl rsa -in privatekey.pem -pubout -out publickey.pem 3) openssl pkcs12 -export -out mycertprivatekey.pfx -in mycert.pem -inkey privatekey.pem -name "my certificate"

  • Persist subclass as superclass using Hibernate

    - by franziga
I have a subclass and a superclass. However, only the fields of the superclass are needed to be persist. session.saveOrUpdate((Superclass) subclass); If I do the above, I will get the following exception. org.hibernate.MappingException: Unknown entity: test.Superclass at org.hibernate.impl.SessionFactoryImpl.getEntityPersister(SessionFactoryImpl.java:628) at org.hibernate.impl.SessionImpl.getEntityPersister(SessionImpl.java:1366) at org.hibernate.engine.ForeignKeys.isTransient(ForeignKeys.java:203) at org.hibernate.event.def.AbstractSaveEventListener.getEntityState(AbstractSaveEventListener.java:535) at org.hibernate.event.def.DefaultSaveOrUpdateEventListener.performSaveOrUpdate(DefaultSaveOrUpdateEventListener.java:103) at org.hibernate.event.def.DefaultSaveOrUpdateEventListener.onSaveOrUpdate(DefaultSaveOrUpdateEventListener.java:93) at org.hibernate.impl.SessionImpl.fireSaveOrUpdate(SessionImpl.java:535) at org.hibernate.impl.SessionImpl.saveOrUpdate(SessionImpl.java:527) at org.hibernate.impl.SessionImpl.saveOrUpdate(SessionImpl.java:523) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:39) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:25) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:597) at org.hibernate.context.ThreadLocalSessionContext$TransactionProtectionWrapper.invoke(ThreadLocalSessionContext.java:342) at $Proxy54.saveOrUpdate(Unknown Source) How can I persist a subclass as a superclass? I do not prefer creating a superclass instance and then passing the values from the subclass instance. Because, it is easy to forget updating the logic if extra fields are added to superclass in the future.

  • Settings variable values in a Moq Callback() call

    - by Adam Driscoll
I think I may be a bit confused on the syntax of the Moq Callback methods. When I try to do something like this: IFilter filter = new Filter(); List<IFoo> objects = new List<IFoo> { new Foo(), new Foo() }; IQueryable myFilteredFoos = null; mockObject.Setup(m => m.GetByFilter(It.IsAny<IFilter>())).Callback( (IFilter filter) => myFilteredFoos = filter.FilterCollection(objects)).Returns(myFilteredFoos.Cast<IFooBar>()); This throws a exception because myFilteredFoos is null during the Cast<IFooBar>() call. Is this not working as I expect? I would think FilterCollection would be called and then myFilteredFoos would be non-null and allow for the cast. FilterCollection is not capable of returning a null which draws me to the conclusion it is not being called. Also, when I declare myFilteredFoos like this: Queryable myFilteredFoos; The Return call complains that myFilteredFoos may be used before it is initialized.

  • Implementing Naïve Bayes algorithm in Java - Need some guidance

    - by techventure
hello stackflow people As a School assignment i'm required to implement Naïve Bayes algorithm which i am intending to do in Java. In trying to understand how its done, i've read the book "Data Mining - Practical Machine Learning Tools and Techniques" which has a section on this topic but am still unsure on some primary points that are blocking my progress. Since i'm seeking guidance not solution in here, i'll tell you guys what i thinking in my head, what i think is the correct approach and in return ask for correction/guidance which will very much be appreciated. please note that i am an absolute beginner on Naïve Bayes algorithm, Data mining and in general programming so you might see stupid comments/calculations below: The training data set i'm given has 4 attributes/features that are numeric and normalized(in range[0 1]) using Weka (no missing values)and one nominal class(yes/no) 1) The data coming from a csv file is numeric HENCE * Given the attributes are numeric i use PDF (probability density function) formula. + To calculate the PDF in java i first separate the attributes based on whether they're in class yes or class no and hold them into different array (array class yes and array class no) + Then calculate the mean(sum of the values in row / number of values in that row) and standard divination for each of the 4 attributes (columns) of each class + Now to find PDF of a given value(n) i do (n-mean)^2/(2*SD^2), + Then to find P( yes | E) and P( no | E) i multiply the PDF value of all 4 given attributes and compare which is larger, which indicates the class it belongs to In temrs of Java, i'm using ArrayList of ArrayList and Double to store the attribute values. lastly i'm unsure how to to get new data? Should i ask for input file (like csv) or command prompt and ask for 4 values? I'll stop here for now (do have more questions) but I'm worried this won't get any responses given how long its got. I will really appreciate for those that give their time reading my problems and comment.

  • Give WPF design mode default objects

    - by Janko R
In my application I have <Rectangle.Margin> <MultiBinding Converter="{StaticResource XYPosToThicknessConverter}"> <Binding Path="XPos"/> <Binding Path="YPos"/> </MultiBinding> </Rectangle.Margin> The Data Context is set during runtime. The application works, but the design window in VS does not show a preview but System.InvalidCastException. That’s why I added a default object in the XYPosToThicknessConverter which is ugly. class XYPosToThicknessConverter : IMultiValueConverter { public object Convert(object[] values, Type targetType, object parameter, System.Globalization.CultureInfo culture) { // stupid check to give the design window its default object. if (!(values[0] is IConvertible)) return new System.Windows.Thickness(3, 3, 0, 0); // useful code and exception throwing starts here // ... } } My Questions: What does VS/the process that builds the design window pass to XYPosToThicknessConverter and what is way to find it out by myself. How do I change my XAML code, so that the design window gets its default object and is this the best way to handle this problem? I’m using VS2010RC with Net4.0

  • Ascii Bytes Array To Int32 or Double

    - by Michael Covelli
I'm re-writing alibrary with a mandate to make it totally allocation free. The goal is to have 0 collections after the app's startup phase is done. Previously, there were a lot of calls like this: Int32 foo = Int32.Parse(ASCIIEncoding.ASCII.GetString(bytes, start, length)); Which I believe is allocating a string. I couldn't find a C# library function that would do the same thing automatically. I looked at the BitConverter class, but it looks like that is only if your Int32 is encoded with the actual bytes that represent it. Here, I have an array of bytes representing Ascii characters that represent an Int32. Here's what I did public static Int32 AsciiBytesToInt32(byte[] bytes, int start, int length) { Int32 Temp = 0; Int32 Result = 0; Int32 j = 1; for (int i = start + length - 1; i >= start; i--) { Temp = ((Int32)bytes[i]) - 48; if (Temp < 0 || Temp > 9) { throw new Exception("Bytes In AsciiBytesToInt32 Are Not An Int32"); } Result += Temp * j; j *= 10; } return Result; } Does anyone know of a C# library function that already does this in a more optimal way? Or an improvement to make the above run faster (its going to be called millions of times during the day probably). Thanks!

  • Java error: Bad version number in .class file error when trying to run Cassandra on OS X

    - by Sam Lee
I am trying to get Cassandra to work on OS X. When I run bin/cassandra, I get the following error: ~/apache-cassandra-incubating-0.4.1-src > bin/cassandra -f Listening for transport dt_socket at address: 8888 Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: Bad version number in .class file at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass1(Native Method) at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass(ClassLoader.java:675) at java.security.SecureClassLoader.defineClass(SecureClassLoader.java:124) at java.net.URLClassLoader.defineClass(URLClassLoader.java:260) at java.net.URLClassLoader.access$100(URLClassLoader.java:56) at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:195) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(URLClassLoader.java:188) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:316) at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Launcher.java:280) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:251) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClassInternal(ClassLoader.java:374) From what I could determine by searching, this error is related to incompatible versions of Java. However, as far as I can tell, I have the latest version of Java: ~/apache-cassandra-incubating-0.4.1-src > java -version java version "1.6.0_13" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_13-b03-211) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 11.3-b02-83, mixed mode) ~/apache-cassandra-incubating-0.4.1-src > javac -version javac 1.6.0_13 ~/Downloads/apache-cassandra-incubating-0.4.1-src > echo $JAVA_HOME /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.6/Home Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?
