  • SWT: problems with clicking button after using setEnabled() on Linux

    - by Laimoncijus
    Hi, I have a strange case with SWT and Button after using setEnabled() - seems if I disable and enable button at least once - I cannot properly click with mouse on it anymore... Already minify code to very basic: import org.eclipse.swt.SWT; import org.eclipse.swt.events.SelectionEvent; import org.eclipse.swt.events.SelectionListener; import org.eclipse.swt.layout.GridLayout; import org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Button; import org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Display; import org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Shell; public class TestButton { public TestButton() { Display display = new Display(); Shell shell = new Shell(display); GridLayout mainLayout = new GridLayout(); shell.setLayout(mainLayout); shell.setSize(100, 100); Button testButton = new Button(shell, SWT.PUSH); testButton.addSelectionListener(new TestClickListener()); testButton.setText("Click me!"); //testButton.setEnabled(false); //testButton.setEnabled(true); shell.open(); while (!shell.isDisposed()) { if (!display.readAndDispatch()) display.sleep(); } display.dispose(); } class TestClickListener implements SelectionListener { @Override public void widgetDefaultSelected(SelectionEvent e) { } @Override public void widgetSelected(SelectionEvent e) { System.out.println("Click!"); } } public static void main(String[] args) { new TestButton(); } } When I keep these 2 lines commented out - I can properly click on a button and always get "Click!" logged, but if I uncomment them - then I can't click on button properly with mouse anymore - button visually seems to be clicked, but nothing is logged... Am I doing something wrong here? Or maybe it's some kind of bug on Linux platform? Because on Mac running the same code I never experienced such problems... Thanks for any hint! P.S. Running code on Ubuntu 9.10, Gnome + Compiz, Sun Java 1.6.0.16

  • Serial port : Read data problem, not reading complete data

    - by Anuj Mehta
    Hi I have an application where I am sending data via serial port from PC1 (Java App) and reading that data in PC2 (C++ App). The problem that I am facing is that my PC2 (C++ App) is not able to read complete data sent by PC1 i.e. from my PC1 I am sending 190 bytes but PC2 is able to read close to 140 bytes though I am trying to read in a loop. Below is code snippet of my C++ App Open the connection to serial port serialfd = open( serialPortName.c_str(), O_RDWR | O_NOCTTY | O_NDELAY); if (serialfd == -1) { /* * Could not open the port. */ TRACE << "Unable to open port: " << serialPortName << endl; } else { TRACE << "Connected to serial port: " << serialPortName << endl; fcntl(serialfd, F_SETFL, 0); } Configure the Serial Port parameters struct termios options; /* * Get the current options for the port... */ tcgetattr(serialfd, &options); /* * Set the baud rates to 9600... */ cfsetispeed(&options, B38400); cfsetospeed(&options, B38400); /* * 8N1 * Data bits - 8 * Parity - None * Stop bits - 1 */ options.c_cflag &= ~PARENB; options.c_cflag &= ~CSTOPB; options.c_cflag &= ~CSIZE; options.c_cflag |= CS8; /* * Enable hardware flow control */ options.c_cflag |= CRTSCTS; /* * Enable the receiver and set local mode... */ options.c_cflag |= (CLOCAL | CREAD); // Flush the earlier data tcflush(serialfd, TCIFLUSH); /* * Set the new options for the port... */ tcsetattr(serialfd, TCSANOW, &options); Now I am reading data const int MAXDATASIZE = 512; std::vector<char> m_vRequestBuf; char buffer[MAXDATASIZE]; int totalBytes = 0; fcntl(serialfd, F_SETFL, FNDELAY); while(1) { bytesRead = read(serialfd, &buffer, MAXDATASIZE); if(bytesRead == -1) { //Sleep for some time and read again usleep(900000); } else { totalBytes += bytesRead; //Add data read to vector for(int i =0; i < bytesRead; i++) { m_vRequestBuf.push_back(buffer[i]); } int newBytesRead = 0; //Now keep trying to read more data while(newBytesRead != -1) { //clear contents of buffer memset((void*)&buffer, 0, sizeof(char) * MAXDATASIZE); newBytesRead = read(serialfd, &buffer, MAXDATASIZE); totalBytes += newBytesRead; for(int j = 0; j < newBytesRead; j++) { m_vRequestBuf.push_back(buffer[j]); } }//inner while break; } //while

  • How to define GPS module in Android?

    - by Osama Gamal
    I'm porting android to Devkit8000 which is a BeagleBoard clone. I have a GPS module connected on /dev/ttyS0. I could successfully get NMEA output when writing "cat /dev/ttyS0" in the terminal emulator. I want to know how to let android know that there is a GPS module on /dev/ttyS0 and it is outputting NMEA standard? To be able to use the android.location class with it! Is there something to edit in the android's source? adding driver for example, writing a code with android-ndk or what?

  • Total stack sizes of threads in one process

    - by David
    I use pthreads_attr_getthreadsizes() to get default stack size of one thread, 8MB on my machine. But when I create 8 threads and allocate a very large stack size to them, say hundreds of MB, the program crash. So, I guess, shall ("Number of threads" x "stack size of per thread") shall less than a value(virtual memory size)?

  • How to define an alias in fish shell?

    - by armandino
    I would like to define some aliases in fish. Apparently it should be possible to define them in ~/.config/fish/functions but they don't get auto loaded when I restart the shell. Any ideas? p.s. if anyone is using or has used fish in the past I'd be interested to hear your comments as to whether it offers anything that bash does not.

  • Using pthread to perform matrix multiplication

    - by shadyabhi
    I have both matrices containing only ones and each array has 500 rows and columns. So, the resulting matrix should be a matrix of all elements having value 500. But, I am getting res_mat[0][0]=5000. Even other elements are also 5000. Why? #include<stdio.h> #include<pthread.h> #include<unistd.h> #include<stdlib.h> #define ROWS 500 #define COLUMNS 500 #define N_THREADS 10 int mat1[ROWS][COLUMNS],mat2[ROWS][COLUMNS],res_mat[ROWS][COLUMNS]; void *mult_thread(void *t) { /*This function calculates 50 ROWS of the matrix*/ int starting_row; starting_row = *((int *)t); starting_row = 50 * starting_row; int i,j,k; for (i = starting_row;i<starting_row+50;i++) for (j=0;j<COLUMNS;j++) for (k=0;k<ROWS;k++) res_mat[i][j] += (mat1[i][k] * mat2[k][j]); return; } void fill_matrix(int mat[ROWS][COLUMNS]) { int i,j; for(i=0;i<ROWS;i++) for(j=0;j<COLUMNS;j++) mat[i][j] = 1; } int main() { int n_threads = 10; //10 threads created bcos we have 500 rows and one thread calculates 50 rows int j=0; pthread_t p[n_threads]; fill_matrix(mat1); fill_matrix(mat2); for (j=0;j<10;j++) pthread_create(&p[j],NULL,mult_thread,&j); for (j=0;j<10;j++) pthread_join(p[j],NULL); printf("%d\n",res_mat[0][0]); return 0; }

  • Is it possible to drag windows between workspaces when using Compiz?

    - by Mike Stone
    When I used Metacity, I could drag windows between workspaces using the small icon view of my workspaces. I recently started using Compiz for all the cool desktop effects, however this drag and drop feature isn't working. I use the cube effect for switching workspaces, but I noticed the wall effect doesn't allow it either. Is this just a missing feature from Compiz or is there a setting somewhere that I can enable it? I know that I can enable dragging windows across edges to the next workspace, and the expose feature to drag windows between workspaces. However, the drag and drop on the icon view is really powerful, and I would love to have it back along with all the great Compiz special effects.

  • Archlinux auto-start after I shutdown my computer

    - by madper

When I use Archlinux, after halt my computer, it will start up after a while without press power. And there is an other thing. My computer's clock will be wrong. Many times I change it in bios, but it wrong again. If I turn off the computer from Win 7, it will never start up untill pressing power bottom. And the clock will be right. I also used ubuntu\debian\mageia, and both of them are fine with my notebook. Is there some configure is wrong with my ArchLinux?

  • Bash script, read values from stdin pipe

    - by gmatt
    I'm trying to get bash to process data from stdin that gets piped it, but no luck, what I mean is none of the following work: echo "hello world" | test=($(< /dev/stdin)); echo test=$test test= echo "hello world" | read test; echo test=$test test= echo "hello world" | test=`cat`; echo test=$test test= where I want the output to be test=hello world. Note I've tried putting "" quotes around "$test" that doesn't work either.

  • Update RHEL 5.1 to 5.4

    - by Rayne
    Hi all, I have a server currently running RHEL 5.1, and I would like to upgrade it to RHEL 5.4. The server is not connected to the Internet, so I don't think I can use "yum update". How would I be able to upgrade my server, and is it just a small-scale upgrade, like Windows patches, leaving everything on the server intact, or would it delete everything that was on the server? Thank you. Regards, Rayne

  • Debian Package Control file Question.

    - by AJ
    Hello, I need to create a debian package for a java application. In my package there a .jar file which is executable , a script which will run this jar file and a .so file for fmod. I read the tutorial provided at http://tldp.org/HOWTO/html_single/Debian-Binary-Package-Building-HOWTO/ My question is in control file there is a Depends field which basically mentions the packages that need to installed in order to install my application. How do i find which packages are required for my application. I followed the instructions provided in the link for one of the .so and did ~/Desktop/PennTotalRecall/native/fmod/lib/linux64$ dpkg -S libfmodex64-4.28.09.so dpkg: libfmodex64-4.28.09.so not found. It gives above result. Also my application requires java 1.5 to be installed in order for it to run. How do I specify in my debian package. Thanks, AJ

  • Interacting with system commands using a web dev language

    - by Jamie
    Hi all, First of all, sorry for the vague title. Let me explain. At work we're currently using SunGrid I've been assigned a project to create a web interface wrapper for interacting with the engine. i.e. displaying users jobs, submitting jobs via a nice GUI etc. (most of the sgrid commands output xml which is nice) My question for you chaps is the following: What web dev language would you use to interact with the system? i.e. use the language to do a system call and evaluate the response. I'm not after an argument on which language is best, I just would like to know which language is specifically good for interacting with the system and is also good for web dev.

  • CPU Affinity Masks (Putting Threads on different CPUs)

    - by hahuang65
    I have 4 threads, and I am trying to set thread 1 to run on CPU 1, thread 2 on CPU 2, etc. However, when I run my code below, the affinity masks are returning the correct values, but when I do a sched_getcpu() on the threads, they all return that they are running on CPU 4. Anybody know what my problem here is? Thanks in advance! #define _GNU_SOURCE #include <stdio.h> #include <pthread.h> #include <stdlib.h> #include <sched.h> #include <errno.h> void *pthread_Message(char *message) { printf("%s is running on CPU %d\n", message, sched_getcpu()); } int main() { pthread_t thread1, thread2, thread3, thread4; pthread_t threadArray[4]; cpu_set_t cpu1, cpu2, cpu3, cpu4; char *thread1Msg = "Thread 1"; char *thread2Msg = "Thread 2"; char *thread3Msg = "Thread 3"; char *thread4Msg = "Thread 4"; int thread1Create, thread2Create, thread3Create, thread4Create, i, temp; CPU_ZERO(&cpu1); CPU_SET(1, &cpu1); temp = pthread_setaffinity_np(thread1, sizeof(cpu_set_t), &cpu1); printf("Set returned by pthread_getaffinity_np() contained:\n"); for (i = 0; i < CPU_SETSIZE; i++) if (CPU_ISSET(i, &cpu1)) printf("CPU1: CPU %d\n", i); CPU_ZERO(&cpu2); CPU_SET(2, &cpu2); temp = pthread_setaffinity_np(thread2, sizeof(cpu_set_t), &cpu2); for (i = 0; i < CPU_SETSIZE; i++) if (CPU_ISSET(i, &cpu2)) printf("CPU2: CPU %d\n", i); CPU_ZERO(&cpu3); CPU_SET(3, &cpu3); temp = pthread_setaffinity_np(thread3, sizeof(cpu_set_t), &cpu3); for (i = 0; i < CPU_SETSIZE; i++) if (CPU_ISSET(i, &cpu3)) printf("CPU3: CPU %d\n", i); CPU_ZERO(&cpu4); CPU_SET(4, &cpu4); temp = pthread_setaffinity_np(thread4, sizeof(cpu_set_t), &cpu4); for (i = 0; i < CPU_SETSIZE; i++) if (CPU_ISSET(i, &cpu4)) printf("CPU4: CPU %d\n", i); thread1Create = pthread_create(&thread1, NULL, (void *)pthread_Message, thread1Msg); thread2Create = pthread_create(&thread2, NULL, (void *)pthread_Message, thread2Msg); thread3Create = pthread_create(&thread3, NULL, (void *)pthread_Message, thread3Msg); thread4Create = pthread_create(&thread4, NULL, (void *)pthread_Message, thread4Msg); pthread_join(thread1, NULL); pthread_join(thread2, NULL); pthread_join(thread3, NULL); pthread_join(thread4, NULL); return 0; }

  • get a list of function names in a shell script

    - by n-alexander
    I have a Bourne Shell script that has several functions in it, and allows to be called in the following way: my.sh <func_name> <param1> <param2> Inside func_name() will be called with param1 and param2. I want to create a "help" function that would just list all available functions, even without parameters. The question: how do I get a list of all function names in a script from inside the script? I'd like to avoid having to parse it and look for function patterns. Too easy to get wrong. Thanks, Alex

  • How does fork() return for son process

    - by EpsilonVector
    I know htat fork() returns differently for the son and father processes, but I'm unable to find information on how this happens. How does the son process receives the return value 0 from fork? And what is the difference in regards to the call stack? As I understand it, for the father it goes something like this: father process--invokes fork--system_call--calls fork--fork executes--returns to--system_call--returns to--father process. What happens in the son side?

  • How can I link glibc statically with qt

    - by yan bellavance
    I have built a static version of qt and download a static version of glibc. Now I would like to link glibc statically to my qt application. I know about going into the .pro and adding the line LIBS += -L path/to/static_lib but I am wondering if these that is enough? Will it still link glibc statically even though the OS I am building on has the dynamic libraries also? The reason I am doing this is to deploy the application in a standalone manner. (After installing and updating Red Hat 5.3 glibc_2.9 was not found on the target computer)

  • Creating a "less"-like console pager interface for pysqlite3 database

    - by Eric
    I would like to add some interactive capability to a python CLI application I've writen that stores data in a SQLite3 database. Currently, my app reads-in a certain type of file, parses and analyzes, puts the analysis data into the db, and spits the formatted records to stdout (which I generally pipe to a file). There are on-the-order-of a million records in this file. Ideally, I would like to eliminate that text file situation altogether and just loop after that "parse and analyze" part, displaying a screen's worth of records, and allowing the user to page through them and enter some commands that will edit the records. The backend part I know how to do. Can anyone suggest a good starting point for creating that pager frontend either directly in the console (like the pager "less"), through ncurses, or some other system?

  • Possible memory leak problem

    - by MaiTiano
    I write two pieces of c programs like following, during memcheck process using Valgrind, a lot of mem leak information is given. int GetMemory(int framewidth, int frameheight, int SR/*, int blocksize*//*,int ALL_REF_NUM*/) { //int i,j; int memory_size = 0; //int refnum = ALL_REF_NUM; int input_search_range = SR; memory_size += get_mem2D(&curFrameY, frameheight, framewidth); memory_size += get_mem2D(&curFrameU, frameheight>>1, framewidth>>1); memory_size += get_mem2D(&curFrameV, frameheight>>1, framewidth>>1); memory_size += get_mem3D(&prevFrameY, refnum, frameheight, framewidth);// to allocate reference frame buffer accoding to the reference frame number memory_size += get_mem3D(&prevFrameU, refnum, frameheight>>1, framewidth>>1); memory_size += get_mem3D(&prevFrameV, refnum, frameheight>>1, framewidth>>1); memory_size += get_mem2D(&mpFrameY, frameheight, framewidth); memory_size += get_mem2D(&mpFrameU, frameheight>>1, framewidth>>1); memory_size += get_mem2D(&mpFrameV, frameheight>>1, framewidth>>1); memory_size += get_mem2D(&searchwindow, input_search_range*2 + blocksize, input_search_range*2 + blocksize);// to allocate search window according to the searchrange /*memory_size +=*/ get_mem1D(/*&SAD_cost, height, width*/); // memory_size += get_mem2D(&searchwindow, 80, 80);// if searchrange is 32, then only 32+1+32+15 pixels is needed in each row and col, therefore the range of // search window is enough to be set to 80 ! memory_size += get_mem2Dint(&all_mv, height/blocksize, width/blocksize); return 0; } void FreeMemory(int refno) { free_mem2D(curFrameY); free_mem2D(curFrameU); free_mem2D(curFrameV); free_mem3D(prevFrameY,refno); free_mem3D(prevFrameU,refno); free_mem3D(prevFrameV,refno); free_mem2D(mpFrameY); free_mem2D(mpFrameU); free_mem2D(mpFrameV); free_mem2D(searchwindow); free_mem1D(); free_mem2Dint(all_mv); } void free_mem1D() { free(SAD_cost); } Now I hope to make sure where are the possible problems in my program? Here I may post some valgrind information to let you know about the actual error information. ==29105== by 0x804A906: main (me_search.c:1480) ==29105== ==29105== ==29105== HEAP SUMMARY: ==29105== in use at exit: 124,088 bytes in 18 blocks ==29105== total heap usage: 37 allocs, 21 frees, 749,276 bytes allocated ==29105== ==29105== 272 bytes in 1 blocks are still reachable in loss record 1 of 18 ==29105== at 0x402425F: calloc (vg_replace_malloc.c:467) ==29105== by 0x804A296: get_mem2D (me_search.c:1315) ==29105== by 0x804885E: GetMemory (me_search.c:117) ==29105== by 0x804A757: main (me_search.c:1456) ==29105== ==29105== 352 bytes in 1 blocks are still reachable in loss record 2 of 18 ==29105== at 0x4024F20: malloc (vg_replace_malloc.c:236) ==29105== by 0x409537E: __fopen_internal (iofopen.c:76) ==29105== by 0x409544B: fopen@@GLIBC_2.1 (iofopen.c:107) ==29105== by 0x804A660: main (me_search.c:1439) ==29105== ==29105== 584 bytes in 1 blocks are still reachable in loss record 3 of 18 ==29105== at 0x402425F: calloc (vg_replace_malloc.c:467) ==29105== by 0x804A296: get_mem2D (me_search.c:1315) ==29105== by 0x8048724: GetMemory (me_search.c:106) ==29105== by 0x804A757: main (me_search.c:1456) ==29105== ==29105== 584 bytes in 1 blocks are still reachable in loss record 4 of 18 ==29105== at 0x402425F: calloc (vg_replace_malloc.c:467) ==29105== by 0x804A296: get_mem2D (me_search.c:1315) ==29105== by 0x8048747: GetMemory (me_search.c:107) ==29105== by 0x804A757: main (me_search.c:1456) ==29105== ==29105== 584 bytes in 1 blocks are still reachable in loss record 5 of 18 ==29105== at 0x402425F: calloc (vg_replace_malloc.c:467) ==29105== by 0x804A296: get_mem2D (me_search.c:1315) ==29105== by 0x8048809: GetMemory (me_search.c:114) ==29105== by 0x804A757: main (me_search.c:1456) ==29105== ==29105== 584 bytes in 1 blocks are still reachable in loss record 6 of 18 ==29105== at 0x402425F: calloc (vg_replace_malloc.c:467) ==29105== by 0x804A296: get_mem2D (me_search.c:1315) ==29105== by 0x804882C: GetMemory (me_search.c:115) ==29105== by 0x804A757: main (me_search.c:1456) ==29105== ==29105== 584 bytes in 1 blocks are definitely lost in loss record 7 of 18 ==29105== at 0x402425F: calloc (vg_replace_malloc.c:467) ==29105== by 0x804A296: get_mem2D (me_search.c:1315) ==29105== by 0x804A4F8: get_mem3D (me_search.c:1393) ==29105== by 0x804879B: GetMemory (me_search.c:110) ==29105== by 0x804A757: main (me_search.c:1456) ==29105== ==29105== 584 bytes in 1 blocks are definitely lost in loss record 8 of 18 ==29105== at 0x402425F: calloc (vg_replace_malloc.c:467) ==29105== by 0x804A296: get_mem2D (me_search.c:1315) ==29105== by 0x804A4F8: get_mem3D (me_search.c:1393) ==29105== by 0x80487C9: GetMemory (me_search.c:111) ==29105== by 0x804A757: main (me_search.c:1456) ==29105== ==29105== 1,168 bytes in 1 blocks are still reachable in loss record 9 of 18 ==29105== at 0x402425F: calloc (vg_replace_malloc.c:467) ==29105== by 0x804A296: get_mem2D (me_search.c:1315) ==29105== by 0x8048701: GetMemory (me_search.c:105) ==29105== by 0x804A757: main (me_search.c:1456) ==29105== ==29105== 1,168 bytes in 1 blocks are still reachable in loss record 10 of 18 ==29105== at 0x402425F: calloc (vg_replace_malloc.c:467) ==29105== by 0x804A296: get_mem2D (me_search.c:1315) ==29105== by 0x80487E6: GetMemory (me_search.c:113) ==29105== by 0x804A757: main (me_search.c:1456) ==29105== ==29105== 1,168 bytes in 1 blocks are definitely lost in loss record 11 of 18 ==29105== at 0x402425F: calloc (vg_replace_malloc.c:467) ==29105== by 0x804A296: get_mem2D (me_search.c:1315) ==29105== by 0x804A4F8: get_mem3D (me_search.c:1393) ==29105== by 0x804876D: GetMemory (me_search.c:109) ==29105== by 0x804A757: main (me_search.c:1456) ==29105== ==29105== 6,336 bytes in 1 blocks are definitely lost in loss record 12 of 18 ==29105== at 0x4024F20: malloc (vg_replace_malloc.c:236) ==29105== by 0x804A25C: get_mem1D (me_search.c:1295) ==29105== by 0x8048866: GetMemory (me_search.c:119) ==29105== by 0x804A757: main (me_search.c:1456)

  • Alternatives to ImageMagick for PDF downsizing

    - by Craig Coston
    Having an issue with some PDF files not displaying properly in our iPad app. I have come to the conclusion that we are needing to standardize by "converting" PDF to PDF. I have successfully processed this using ImageMagick to convert the PDF to PNG (resized), and then pushing the PNG(s) back into a PDF. However, something within ImageMagick is making photos within PDFs display wrong. Same issue just converting a JPG or other graphic to PDF in ImageMagick. I solved that by taking the output of the converted ImageMagick file and converting it again using GD to PNG, then pushing it through our PDF converter. So my question is this: What other PHP workflows would work with this, other than using ImageMagick for the conversion back to PDF? We are not opposed to a paid solution, we just need something that works. Our server runs centOS.
