  • DMZ and LAN on the same Windows Storage Server 2008 R2

    We are moving from EMC Celerra NS20 to Windows Storage Server 2008 R2. I would like to use deduplication feature in WSS (Single Instance Storage) for hosting data for our external FTP server.The idea is to use NFS server on WSS as datastore for Linux FTP server located in DMZ and CIFS services for servers in LAN. Using Celerra fileserver I was able to create multiple instances of fileservers with multiple virtual interfaces and separate filesystems so all data and networks would be separated. Would it be possible to do something similiar on WSS?

    Welcome, I'm looking for information where opera store temporary cookies with time expire (0), what's mean - cookie should be deleted after restart browser. Do opera create temporary file for these cookies and delete after restart (if yes what file), or store them in memory (RAM). I'm tested file "cookies4.dat" by hex-editor and it don't have that "temp" 0 cookies stored inside. regards

    I currently have 2 volume's: [root@compute4 /]# lvscan ACTIVE '/dev/vps/vm108_img' [30.00 GB] inherit ACTIVE '/dev/vps/vm109_img' [90.00 GB] inherit Now, I use the LVM snapshot function to create backups. My quesion is, what size does the snapshot needs to be? Atleast the same as the volume in question or can it be a lot smaller and will only the changes be saved into it?

I can't open the table properties windows at the bottom of the screen when I double click on a table, and I can't right-click on the table and choose properties because the choice is not there... The Database tab is missing from the ribbon on top. What can cause this?     Hello, I have a VM with a .vhd file however, when I connet to the VM (by RDP) and make some changes (create a directory and add a small file with notepad) the .VHD file stays unchanged. The 'Date modified' of the .VHD stays at the starttime of the VM. 1/How can we force an update of het VM while the VM is running? 2/Where aree the temporary changes kept?     What's the Mac keyboard shortcut to rm a file? I know command + delete sends it to trash, but I want to permanently delete it, say with command + fn + delete. UPDATE: It doesn't look like there is one. So, I want to create a service with Automator and then assign a keyboard shortcut to it from System Preferences. I can get to Automator - Service - Service receives selected files or folders in Finder.app, but how do I write the script that then runs rm -rf #{file/folder name}?

    I need to create a large image (in filesize) using a small one as a source. Images on my website are being hotlinked and I'd like to get revenge. I want to replace the hotlinked images with one huge image (several megs in size) and serve that to them instead. I've found a good image, but it's less than 100kb, and I'm already using it to serve up to the hotlinkers. How can I convert this image to one that is several megs its current filesize?

I experimented with several variations on this, but every one of them runs into this error in the end: "Anonymous lock creation is not allowed."
