• Httpd and LDAP Authentication not working for sub-pages

  I just recently installed a Nagios implementation, and I'm trying to get LDAP authentication working for httpd on Red Hat. However, when you go anywhere else, it prompts you for authentication, fails (asking for a re-prompt), and gives this error message: [Mon Oct 21 14:46:23 2013] [error] [client 172.28.9.30] access to /nagios/cgi-bin/statusmap.cgi failed, reason: verification of user id '<myuseraccount>' not configured, referer: http://<nagiosserver>/nagios/side.php I'm almost certain its a simple flag or option, but I just can't find it, and I don't have a lot of experience working with Apache. Any assistance or help would be greatly appreciated.

• sub application and virtual directory file permissions

  I have a website setup in IIS7, exampledomain.com. Under the application exampledomain.com lives a sub application cms. In a rather convoluted way, we have content in our cms system in this sub-app, under cms\content\{generatedfoldername}. So to access an image in this content, the full URL would be http://www.exampledomain.com/cms/cms/content/{generatedfoldername}/image.jpg, (yes, cms twice...) and this works just fine. Now, we have a virtual directory under the parent website, called stuff which points at the content of the cms. So I should be able to get to the image using the url http://www.exampledomain.com/stuff/{generatedfoldername}/image.jpg. Unfortunately this gives a server 500 error "There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed." Whilst you do have to log into the cms system to access any of the admin pages within, I don't think the image files are protected by login, or else the first example URL wouldn't work, right? Also it's a server 500 error, rather than a 403. I'm sure I must be missing something obvious here- will the virtual directory be using the permissions defined in the parent application, or the subapplication to which it is pointing? Or is there some other permissions I may have missed? Sorry, that was a bit long, thanks for reading all the way down here! (I also must point out that I'm pretty new to the server management stuff.) edit: also, we have <location path="." inheritInChildApplications="false"> specified in the webconfig of the parent app, so it's hopefully not the issue described in this config file hierarchy article.

• Easier way to populate form data and validation data in Code Igniter?

  I'm new to code igniter. I'm following the form validation tutorial found at: http://www.codeignitor.com/user_guide/libraries/validation.html I find I am typing too much in the view to get the form to re-populate. For example, here's what one of my INPUT fields look like: <input type="text" name="email" value="<?=$this->validation->email ? $this->validation->email : $array_db_values['email'] ?>" /> Basically, when the form first loads, it should show a value from the database. If the user alters the value and it fails validation, then the form should post the erroneously submitted value. Does code igniter have a "cleaner" way of rendering this kind of output? Otherwise, I'm going to do something like this in my controller: $array_db_values = getdbresults(); if($_POST['submit']) foreach($_POST as $key=>$val) $array_db_values[$key] = $val; That way, if postback data exists, it will always override database values. Then input fields in my view can simply be: <input type="text" name="email" value="<?=$array_db_values['email'] ?>" /> Is there a better/native CI way to handle this scenario?

• How to number nested ordered lists.

  Is there any way through CSS to style nested ordered lists to display sub numbers? The idea is similar to using heading levels. However what I'd really like to see is the following. Note each of these subsections has text not just a title. This isn't a real example just some organisational stuff. Now I know I can use <h1>-<h6> but nested lists would be much clearer and allow for different indentation styling. Also it would be symentically correct. • IE9 Loses Some CSS After Particular Form Submit [migrated]

  The site I am editing has a search form. For the record, there are several other forms on the site, contact and the like. This is the only one with an issue. Upon submission of the form, SOME of the styling is lost in IE9 (possibly other versions of IE, haven't tested that yet). Primarily, the margins and colors set in html and body appear to have been lost. Menus, banner, text, etc all appear to retain styles. All styles are on one sheet, that are used here...   I've trying to use Zend_Translate from Zend Framework I am using "POEdit" to generate "gettext" translation files. My files are under /www/mysite.com/webapps/includes/locale (this path is in my include path). I have: pictures.en.mo pictures.en.po (I plan on having pictures.es.mo soon) It all works fine if I manually do addTranslation() for each file. However I want to use the automatic file scanning method. • Large PHP enable web form - around 75 field - how best to send email with all fields?

  Have created simple Ajax enabled contact forms before that have around 12 fields - worked fine.... Now working on a PHP enabled web page for job applications that has around 100 fields. The ajax technique I was using was to send request via querystrings (&val1=test;&val2=test2 and etc ...) That is not going to scale very well with larger form with 100+ fields. • How do I submit really big amounts of data to a form?

  I have an HTML from that's posting a really big amount of data which is eventually being saved into an SQL Server 2005, the form is as follows: <form name="frmForm" method="post" action="saveData.aspx"> the target page takes the content of a control within the form and saves it to the database through a normal SQL insert statement. However only a portion of the data is being saved. The field in the database is an ntext. Should I use a different field? Or is something happening while I'm transferring from one page to another? Or even still there's something happening when I'm sending the really big SQL statement through c# in saveData.aspx?

Containers are objects that are stored in specific locations each location and container are specified by ID values. • How to structure a XML-based order form using ASP.NET

  First question here; please help me if I'm doing something wrong. I'm a graphic designer who's trying to teach himself ASP.NET/C#. My server-side background is PHP/WordPress and some ASP Classic, and when I do code I've hand-coded just about everything since I started learning HTML. So, as I've started to learn .NET, my code has been very manual and procedural. I'm now trying to create a really basic order form that pulls from an XML file to populate the form; there's an image, a title, a price, and selectable quantities. If I was making this form as a static HTML file, I'd have each field named manually and so on postback I could query each field to get the values. But I'm trying to do this dynamically so that I can add/remove items from the form and not have to change the code. In terms of displaying the XML, I rolled my own by loading XmlDocument and using XmlNodeList and a bunch of foreach loops to get things displayed. Then, I learned about <asp:XmlDataSource> and <asp:Repeater>, which made displaying the XML simpler by a large margin. However, I've had a really hard time getting the data that's been submitted on postback (it was implied on SO that there are better ways to get data than nested RepeaterItems). So, what I've learned so far is that you can do things a bunch of different ways in .NET. that's why I thought it'd be good to ask for answers regarding the best way to use ASP.NET to display a XML document and dynamically capture the data that's submitted. Any help is appreciated! I'm using Notepad++ to code .NET 2.0.

  Did it again today: For logging purposes I needed to capture the full Request.Form data as a string and while it’s pretty easy to retrieve the buffer it always takes me a few minutes to remember how to do it. So I finally wrote a small helper function to accomplish this since this comes up rather frequently especially in debugging scenarios or in the immediate window. Here’s the quick function to get the form buffer as string: /// <summary> /// Returns the content of the POST buffer as string /// </summary> /// <returns></returns> public static string FormBufferToString() { HttpRequest Request = HttpContext.Current.Request; if (Request.TotalBytes > 0) return Encoding.Default.GetString(Request.BinaryRead(Request.TotalBytes)); return string.Empty; } Clearly a simple task, but handy to have in your library for reuse. You probably don’t want to call this if you have a massive inbound form buffer, or if the data you’re retrieving is binary. It’s probably a good idea to check the inbound content type before calling this function with something like this: var formBuffer = string.Empty; if (Request.ContentType.StartsWith("text/") || Request.ContentType == "application/x-www-form-urlencoded") ) { formBuffer = FormBufferToString(); } to ensure you’re working only on content types you can actually view as text. • Converting Mercurial Repository To Sub Version (SVN)

Initially we were using subversion (SVN) for version control... then we moved to mercurial and used a tool to convert our previous commits to a mercurial form. And now we want to move back to sub version however we can't seem to find anything that will allow us to keep out history from the mercurial commits and keep them in subversion form.   I have a problem with a bound user control writing back to it's datasource on a NetCF forms application. The application is too complex to post code, so I made a toy version to show you. I create a form, usercontrol with a combobox, a class (testBind) and another class (TestLookup). I bind a property of the usercontrol ("value") to a property ("selectedValue") on the testBind class. The testBind class implements INotifyPropertyChanged. I create a few fascade methods on the user control to bind the contained combobox to a BindingList(of TestLookup). I create a button to show the value of the testBind bound property (in a MessageBox). The messagebox returns "-1" every time regardless of the combobox entry selected. • HttpWebRequest: How to find a postal code at Canada Post through a WebRequest with x-www-form-enclos

  I'm currently writing some tests so that I may improve my skills with the Internet interaction through Windows Forms. One of those tests is to find a postal code which should be returned by Canada Post website. My default URL setting is set to: http://www.canadapost.ca/cpotools/apps/fpc/personal/findByCity?execution=e4s1 The required form fields are: streetNumber, streetName, city, province The contentType is "application/x-www-form-enclosed" EDIT: Please consider the value "application/x-www-form-encoded" instead of point 3 value as the contentType. (Thanks EricLaw-MSFT!) The result I get is not the result expected. I get the HTML source code of the page where I could manually enter the information to find the postal code, but not the HTML source code with the found postal code. Any idea of what I'm doing wrong? Shall I consider going the XML way? Is it first of all possible to search on Canada Post anonymously? • Django sub-applications & module structure

  I am developing a Django application, which is a large system that requires multiple sub-applications to keep things neat. Therefore, I have a top level directory that is a Django app (as it has an empty models.py file), and multiple subdirectories, which are also applications in themselves. The reason I have laid my application out in this way is because the sub-applications are separated, but they would never be used on their own, outside the parent application. It therefore makes no sense to distribute them separately. When installing my application, the settings file has to include something like this: INSTALLED_APPS = ( ... 'myapp', 'myapp.subapp1', 'myapp.subapp2', ... ) ...which is obviously suboptimal. This also has the slightly nasty result of requiring that all the sub-applications are referred to by their "inner" name (i.e. subapp1, subapp2 etc.). For example, if I want to reset the database tables for subapp1, I have to type: python manage.py reset subapp1 This is annoying, especially because I have a sub-app called core - which is likely to conflict with another application's name when my application is installed in a user's project. Am I doing this completely wrongly, or is there away to force these "inner" apps to be referred to by their full name?

• Square Brackets in Python Regular Expressions (re.sub)

  I'm migrating wiki pages from the FlexWiki engine to the FOSwiki engine using Python regular expressions to handle the differences between the two engines' markup languages. The FlexWiki markup and the FOSwiki markup, for reference. Most of the conversion works very well, except when I try to convert the renamed links. Both wikis support renamed links in their markup. For example, Flexwiki uses: "Link To Wikipedia":[http://www.wikipedia.org/] FOSwiki uses: [[http://www.wikipedia.org/][Link To Wikipedia]] both of which produce something that looks like I'm using the regular expression renameLink = re.compile ("\"(?P<linkName>[^\"]+)\":\[(?P<linkTarget>[^\[\]]+)\]") to parse out the link elements from the FlexWiki markup, which after running through something like "Link Name":[LinkTarget] is reliably producing groups <linkName> = Link Name <linkTarget = LinkTarget My issue occurs when I try to use re.sub to insert the parsed content into the FOSwiki markup. My experience with regular expressions isn't anything to write home about, but I'm under the impression that, given the groups <linkName> = Link Name <linkTarget = LinkTarget a line like line = renameLink.sub ( "[[\g<linkTarget>][\g<linkName>]]" , line ) should produce [[LinkTarget][Link Name]] However, in the output to the text files I'm getting [[LinkTarget [[Link Name]] which breaks the renamed links. After a little bit of fiddling I managed a workaround, where line = renameLink.sub ( "[[\g<linkTarget>][ [\g<linkName>]]" , line ) produces [[LinkTarget][ [[Link Name]] which, when displayed in FOSwiki looks like <[[Link Name> <--- Which WORKS, but isn't very pretty. I've also tried line = renameLink.sub ( "[[\g<linkTarget>]" + "[\g<linkName>]]" , line ) which is producing [[linkTarget [[linkName]] There are probably thousands of instances of these renamed links in the pages I'm trying to convert, so fixing it by hand isn't any good. For the record I've run the script under Python 2.5.4 and Python 2.7.3, and gotten the same results. Am I missing something really obvious with the syntax? Or is there an easy workaround?

  I have setup 1 Domain and 1 Sub domain in IIS 7 - Set the bindings/ports etc When I browse to the subdomain url I get the website of the main domain. I have not configured an A record for the subdomain. Is this the problem? Its the same if I browe the non www version it rewrites or redirects to the www version.
