    Hi, I'm writing an app to check for the bus timetable's. Therefor I need to post some data to a html page, submit it, and parse the resulting page with htmlparser. I also find it confusing, for example, that when I enter the data by hand, the url says, for example, "....HTO=Kaiserplatz&...", but in Firebug, the same Kaiserplatz is connected to a different field, in this case: \<\td class="Start3" Kaiserplatz <\/td (I inserted \ to make it visible) The last line in my code prints the html page, but without having send a request.. it's printed as if there was no input at all... My app is almost done, I hope someone can help me out to finish it! thanks in advance

    I have a web based CRM system that stores all the client data from all the clients into one database (MS Sql Server). We need to build a system that maintains a local copy of the data for each client. So basically the client database will have all tables and columns except for the ClientId that is in ever server table. I am aware that I will need to add fields to the server to support synchronization. Are there any good solutions or components already out there to help me accomplish this? We are using MS Sql Server and .NET C#

  • Unable to send email on production server with ASP.NET MVC

    I have a simple ASP.NET MVC application with a contact page. In my development machine (local) I can send successfully emails (I specify host and credentials), but on the production server this doesn't work and I get this error: System.Net.Mail.SmtpFailedRecipientException: Mailbox unavailable. The server response was: Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable or not local at System.Net.Mail.SmtpTransport.SendMail... The server is in my LAN (the mail server too). I tried with multiple accounts but I have errors every time. Credentials for the account are provided at runtime with smtp.Credentials = new NetworkCredential("username", "password"); Any idea?     I am about to implement a very basic licensing feature for my application. A serial number may be granted per-machine (or per-operating-system) or per-user (as for CAL in Windows Server: if my application is used by several users on one machine or if it is used by one user on several machines). For per-operating-system licensing, I use SerialNumber of Win32_OperatingSystem. For per-user licensing, I use: WindowsIdentity currentIdentity = WindowsIdentity.GetCurrent(); if (currentIdentity != null) { SecurityIdentifier userSid = currentIdentity.User.AccountDomainSid; Console.WriteLine(userSid); } A hash of an obtained OS serial number or SID is then stored in the database, associated with application serial; each time the program starts, it queries the server, sending hash of OS SN/SID and application serial. Is it a right thing to do it or is it completely wrong? Will it work on every Windows machine? (For example, using motherboard serial is wrong)

    Hi all, I've created a CLR stored procedure that I'm running on SQL 2k5 and I'm wondering if there's any way to get line numbers for exceptions thrown by the .NET code. When an Exception is thrown, I get something along the lines of Msg 6522, Level 16, State 1, Procedure myProcedure, Line 0 A .NET Framework error occurred during execution of user-defined routine or aggregate "myProcedure": System.Exception: testing exception System.Exception: at DummyDLL.myProcedure (String dummyInput) . Is there some way I can load the assembly to give me specific line numbers rather than just the function in which the error was thrown? The assembly itself was compiled with a .pdb, but SQL 2k5 doesn't appear to be reading it in when I load the assembly initially. Thanks!

    Hi All I have a C# console application written using Visual Studio 2008. My system culture is en-GB. I have a Linq query that looks like this: var myDate = "19-May-2010"; var cus = from x in _dataContext.testTable where x.CreateDate == Convert.ToDateTime(myDate) select x; The resulting SQL query generates and error because it returns the dates as "19/05/2010" which it interprets as an incorrect date. For some reason even though my system culture is set to en-GB it looks like it's trying to intrepret it as a en-US date. Any ideas how I get around this? Thanks. Alan T

  • The remote server returned an error: (400) Bad Request - uploading less 2MB file size?

    The file succeed to upload when it is 2KB or lower in size. The main reason why I use streaming is to be able to upload file up to at least 1 GB. But when I try to upload file with less 1MB size, I get bad request. It is my first time to deal with downloading and uploading process, so I can't easily find the cause of error.   • Is it possible to read to a Paradox 7.x .db file in a .Net app?

    I'm trying to read a Paradox 7.x .db file in a .Net 3.5 app and I'm not being successful on that. First of all, when I'm registering the odbc, as a user or system dsn, the Microsoft Paradox ODBC Driver only display versions up to 5.x, so it looks like that it does not support Paradox version 7.x. At connectionsstrings.com I've found the connection string that is supposed to work with Paradox 7.x: Provider=MSDASQL;Persist Security Info=False;Mode=Read; Extended Properties='DSN=Paradox;DBQ=C:\mydbfolder; DefaultDir=C:\mydbfolder;DriverId=538;FIL=Paradox 7.X;MaxBufferSize=2048; PageTimeout=600;';Initial Catalog=C:\mydbfolder But when I try to test the connection using a Data Adapter I get the following exception: "ERROR [IM002] [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified" I have specified the ODBC as a user DSN and as a System DSN as well but kept receiving the same error. I'm designing an interface in .NET that would be consumed from COM applications (mainly VB6, but Visual C++ 6 is also a possibility) and I would like to use Collection types as argument and return types for the methods in the interface. Questions: What happens to the VB6 built-in collection types (arrays, collections, dictionaries) when they go through interop? My current guess is that: arrays - System.Array collections - Microsoft.VisualBasic.Collection dictionaries - System.Collections.Hashtable Is that correct? Which interfaces should I use as return types? IEnumerable, ICollection, IList, IDictionary? Would I be able to do a For Each in VB6 to iterate over these interfaces? Should I use the generic or non-generic variants of the interfaces?

    I'm trying to use the EWS API to access an Exchange server from a console program i'm writing. I've specified the type of exchange server i'm connecting to but when I try to execute the code i have, it gives me Error 1 The type 'System.TimeZoneInfo' is defined in an assembly that is not referenced. You must add a reference to assembly 'System.Core, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089'. C:\Documents and Settings\jsorensen\My Documents\Visual Studio 2005\Projects\ConsoleApplication2\ConsoleApplication2\Program.cs 26 13 ConsoleApplication2 Does Microsoft Visual Studio Academic Edition not support TimeZoneInfo or is the version of .Net that XP can have not up-to date enough to work with the EWS API? My page is stored as an embedded resource - but the Frame.Navigate takes a URI.   • Visual studio asp.net code behind file not showing errors

    Hi, I am developing a web application in which I am suddenly facing an issue. I have a webpage which contains many controls, one of the control is JQuery color picker. Now, I am upgrading my system with telerik controls. As part of this process, I replaced textbox(txtcolor) with radcolorpicker with a different id(colorPicker). Suddenly, my code behind file is not throwing any errors like 'unable to find txtColor'. It is running successfully without build errors. But, when I open the page, system is throwing runtime exception(txtColor not found) which is correct. I tried to change other controls with asp.net controls, still the problem persists. So, I dont think it is anything to do with telerik. Could you please let me know how can fix this issue?? Thanks, Mahesh

I'd like to add a timeout parameter to the method so that if the command being called doesn't finish in a reasonable amount of time the method will return with an error code.
