• How can I use GLUT with CUDA on MACOSX?

  Hi, I'm having problems compiling a CUDA program that uses GLUT on MacOsX. Here is the command line I use to compile the source: nvcc main.c -o main -Xlinker "-L/System/Library/Frameworks/OpenGL.framework/Libraries -lGL -lGLU" "-L/System/Library/Frameworks/GLUT.framework" And here is the errors I get: Undefined symbols: "_glutInitWindowSize", referenced from: _main in tmpxft_00001612_00000000-1_main.o "_glutInitWindowPosition", referenced from: _main in tmpxft_00001612_00000000-1_main.o "_glutDisplayFunc", referenced from: _main in tmpxft_00001612_00000000-1_main.o "_glutInitDisplayMode", referenced from: _main in tmpxft_00001612_00000000-1_main.o "_glutCreateWindow", referenced from: _main in tmpxft_00001612_00000000-1_main.o "_glutMainLoop", referenced from: _main in tmpxft_00001612_00000000-1_main.o "_glutInit", referenced from: _main in tmpxft_00001612_00000000-1_main.o ld: symbol(s) not found collect2: ld returned 1 exit status I am aware that I haven't specified any lib for GLUT but I just can't find it! • Unable to connect to a local MYSQL server on wireles LAN.

  Ok, Here is the technical description. My laptop's config: Ip Adress:192.168.2.5 Mysqlserver 5.0 on port : 3306 Operating system: Ubuntu jaunty (9.04) 3306 is open for both incoming and outgoing. My friend's laptop config: Ip Adress:192.168.2.4 Mysqlserver 5.0 on port : 3306 Operating system: Windows XP pro 3306 is open for both incoming and outgoing. Both are on a wireless LAN connected through a belkin router (192.168.2.1) Both the MYSQL servers have been given the sufficient GRANT privileges. I am also able to connect from 192.168.2.4 to 192.168.2.5's MYSQL instance but the vice versa is not happening. I am getting an (100061) error. Tried Telnetting on 3306; again happening from 192.168.2.4 to 192.168.2.5 but not the vice versa. Am I doing something wrong? Kindly suggest.

• Webservice won't accept JSON requests

  Hi, The main issue is that I cannot run a webservice that accepts requests in JSON format. I keep getting a 500 Server error stating that the "request format is invalid." My ASP.NET AJAX extensions are installed. My server is running Plesk Control Panel 8.6 which is undoubtedly causing these problems. The default handler for this specified extension is shown in the web.config like so: For my applications webservice to handle JSON it needs to have this reference: <add name="ScriptHandlerFactory" verb="*" path="*.asmx" preCondition="integratedMode" type="System.Web.Script.Services.ScriptHandlerFactory, System.Web.Extensions, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35"/> Plesk is not allowing the request to be handled properly. I need to know the correct http directive(s) to put into the web.config to properly handle JSON webservices. I tried posting to the Plesk forum two days ago but no response yet. Any insight would be great =)

• Is it possible to run a MIDP application under Android

  The Google Market offers an application purporting to run J2ME MIDP applications on the Nexus One. I have tried this application but it only appears to run MIDP applications that are downloaded from particular web sites; it does not seem capable of picking up a MIDP application that is stored on the SD card in the phone. I have suggested to the developers that they might like to add such functionality, but they have not been particularly responsive to my messages. So I would like to build my own MIDP runner for Android and would like to see if I can find a pointer as to where to start, or even whether this is possible. The MIDP application in question was supplied on CD along with a security camera system and permits remote viewing and remote control over the security system. Clearly it wasn't built with the Android platform in mind. However, if it is possible somehow to run MIDP applications on Android (perhaps by creating some kind of sandbox environment for example) then I'd be quite keen to develop it.

• Interaction between Java and Android

  I am currently trying to research how to use Android with an existing java based system. Basically, I need to communicate to/from an Android application. The system currently passes object data from computer to computer using ActiveMQ as the JMS provider. On one of the computers is a display which shows object data to the user. What we want to do now is use a phone (running Android) as another option to show this object data to a user with wifi/network access. Ideally we would like to have a native application on the Android that would listen to the ActiveMQ topic and publish to another Topic and read/write/display the object data, but from some research I have done, I am not sure if this is possible. What are some other ways to approach this problem? The android Phone needs to be able to send/receive data. I have been using the AndroidEmulator for testing.

  I have a problem where I can't write files with accents in the file name on Solaris.   The code below works great. If the Get and Use methods are in different assemblies, the code fails with a RuntimeBinderException. This is because the .Net runtime system only guarantees commonality of anonymous types (<string, int> in this case) within assemblies. Is there any way to fool the runtime system to overcome this?   Hello all, I need my linq to sql datacontext to be available across my business/data layer for all my repository objects to access. However since this is a web app, I want to create and destroy it per request. I'm wondering if having a singleton class that can lazily create and attach the datacontext to current HttpContext would work. My question is: would the datacontext get disposed automatically when the request ends? Below is the code for what I'm thinking.   I am using a WebBrowser-Control to fill in a webform and then click at a button, this currently results in a standard Download File Dialog (you get these if you download a file using internet explorer), but instead, I have to catch this file and save it automatically with a by me defined name to a specific folder. I am trying to code a little application in vb.net which download the Export-file from my wordpress-blog, and I want to do this completely without user-interaction. Currently everything works, except the downloading of the file. I tried to catch it with the event System.Windows.Controls.WebBrowser.Navigating(ByVal Object, ByVal System.Windows.Navigation.NavigatingCancelEventArgs) but I don't see where to download the file from :( I hope you guys can help me.

  uploading multiple files from client to server with asp.net I have been looking at the asp.net upload control but that is for one file (unless someone knows a better way to do it). http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.web.ui.webcontrols.fileupload.aspx For what I want to do I don't even really need a browse. I know the files off of the client are at a certain location. Is it possible to create a collection of *HttpPostedFile*s and upload those? http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.web.httppostedfile.aspx I don't think it is possible but would be glad to be proven wrong. Is there a different asp.net method or control that will easily allow uploading multiple files from client to server?

  I'm newish to the python ecosystem, and have a question about module editing. I use a bunch of third-party modules, distributed on PyPi. Coming from a C and Java background, I love the ease of easy_install <whatever>. This is a new, wonderful world, but the model breaks down when I want to edit the newly installed module for two reasons: The egg files may be stored in a folder or archive somewhere crazy on the file system. Using an egg seems to preclude using the version control system of the originating project, just as using a debian package precludes development from an originating VCS repository. What is the best practice for installing modules from an arbitrary VCS repository? I want to be able to continue to import foomodule in other scripts.

  I'm using Simple Framework for my recent project, and there is a problem with the date headers generated by the system. I can get my local time from Date class correctly, but setDate method of Simple's Response class sets date in milliseconds and when i do that by calling System.currentTimeInMillis, dates in response headers are incorrect. is there any way to solve this problem with Simple Framework? If not, what can i do except calling set method with a date string? Thanks in advance... EDIT: Date in the headers are in wrong timezone. And i also tried Calendar.getInstance().getTimeInMilis() method.

  I'm working on a C# windows program with Visual Studio 2008. Usually, I work from school, directly on my usb drive. But when I copy the folder on my hard drive at home, an sql exception is unhandled whenever I try to write to the database. it is unhandled at the conn.Open(); line. here's the exception unhandled Database 'L:\system\project\the_project\the_project\bin\Debug\PatientMonitoringDatabase.mdf' already exists. Choose a different database name. • Why does mysqldump need to be fully pathed when called from a controller or model?

  When I call mysqldump from a controller or model I need to fully path the binary, when I call it from Rake I don't need to. If I do not fully path I get a zero byte file... I can confirm both processes are run using the same user. # Works in a controller, model and Rake task system "/usr/local/mysql/bin/mysqldump -u root #{w.database_name} > #{target_file}" # Only works in a Rake task system "mysqldump -u root #{w.database_name} > #{target_file}" If I call the Rake task from the action it also fails (zero byte file). OS: Mac Ruby 1.8.6 EDIT: I use Etc.getpwuid(Process.uid).name to get the User of the current process

  When looking at the Contact Groups on Google Contacts or in the People application of my HTC Legend phone, I get the groups names ok eg: Friends, Family, VIP, Favorite etc... • Does <httpRedirect> in web.config work in a mono setup? Or is it IIS7 specific?

  We had some content restructure recently and I'd like to put in some redirect rules into web.config so bookmarks to the old pages can get routed to their new locations/pages. I tried using this approach: <location path="~/product/productA.aspx"> <system.webServer> <httpRedirect enabled="true" destination="~/product/category/productA.aspx" exactDestination="false" childOnly="true" httpResponseStatus="Permanent" /> </system.webServer> </location> But all I'm getting when I go to "http://www.oursite.com/product/productA.aspx" is our http 404 page. Am I doing something wrong, or is the httpRedirect tag in web.config not supported in mono? worked, but not ideal for what we want to achieve. Thank you :)
