  • T-SQL - Is there a (free) way to compare data in two tables?

    Okay so i have table a and table b. (SQL Server 2008) Both tables have the exact same schema. For the purposes of this question, consider table a = my local dev table, table b = the live table. I need to create a SQL script (containing UPDATE/DELETE/INSERT statements) that will update table b to be the same as table a. This script will then be deployed to the live database. Any free tools out there that can do this, or better yet a way i can do it myself? I'm thinking i probably need to do some type of a join on all the fields in the tables, then generate dynamic sql based on that. Anyone have any ideas?

  • Are there drawbacks to altering MySQL table data types?

    Hi, I'm wondering that how much worried I should be about data types. I can easily jump from TINYINT to SMALLINT and from SMALLINT to INT, but are there any drawbacks to this? Obviously situations like from text to int will have consequences, but I'm talking about situations like INT-BIGINT, TINYTEXT-TEXT, etc.

    Hi, we are building a PHP script that we need at work to create reports in PDFs the reports will be created by using templates from postgrSQL. so far I found that it can be done with the use of php and odt (openoffice) files [http://www.odtphp.com/] (do you have any other suggestions?) now how I can convert the results to PDF so teachers will get the final reports as PDF any tips? the server has no GUI and I want to make it as simple as possible we tried using PHP to PDF directly with FPDF [http://www.fpdf.org/] but it is really a CPU killer! cheers

  • Unable to debug St9bad_alloc error. Tried reducing the size of the data structure, error still persists

    I get a St9bad_alloc error which I'm unable to debug. I tried reducing the size of the data structure to eliminate the possibility that I might be running out of memory but that doesn't seem to be the case. These are the relevant files:- gdb backtrace: http://pastebin.com/5hFhHXnL TraceCache.cc: http://pastebin.com/j8vK812j I can't understand how, in the backtrace it jumps from TraceCache.cc:55 to TraceCache.cc:34 whereas in my code I can't see any such path. Is there a way to do it atomically? I would like to prevent an insertion of an Element in a transaction while the corresponding Type is being disabled by an other transaction.

An array of base1 type exists and includes many objects created out of classes that are derived from base1. I would like to have a simple share button on the final activity so they can share the results (or even a simple text field) with apps that accept it (email, mms, twitter, etc..).
