• MSNP-Sharp Example fails to login, gives SocketException

  I've just downloaded the MSNP-Sharp library with the aim of creating my own messaging client, however I am struggling to get the example to sign in. The code all compiles and runs, but when I provide my login details and select "Login" I almost immediately get the following SocketException: "No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 64.4.9.254:1863" I've stepped through the code and it's the messenger.Connect() function that is causing this, somewhat obviously. When I run the example I only change the login and password details. I am running Windows 7 x86 with the latest version of Windows Live Messenger. I have tried disabling my antivirus, even going as far as to temporarily uninstall it in case that was the error. I have also tried disabling Windows Firewall, with no luck.

  Hi, I'm writing an App for Mac OSX 10.6 and later in C++. One part of theapp needs to simulate mouse movement and mouse clicks. I do this currently by posting CGEvent objects using CGEventPost(kCGHIDEventTap, event);. This works, for the msot part - I can simulate mouse movement and clicks just fine, but it seems to fail in some areas. For example: In Mozilla firefox & Safari, I can click on all the menus, but cannot click on a link within a website. When I try, the link is highlighted, but the browser never follows the link. However, I can right-click on a link, select "open link in new tab", and everything works as expected. I can click on the "Dashboard" icon to brink up the dashboard, but I cannot click on the "i" button on any of the dashboard widgets. This inconsistency is along application boundaries - Does anyone have any idea what the cause might be?

  I'm making a level editor for a game using windows forms. The form has several drop down menus, text boxes, etc, where the user can type information. I want to make commands like CTRL + V or CTRL + A available for working within the game world itself, not text manipulation. The game world is represented by a PictureBox contained in a Panel. This event handler isn't ever firing: private System.Windows.Forms.Panel canvas; // ... this.canvas = new System.Windows.Forms.Panel(); // ... this.canvas.PreviewKeyDown += new System.Windows.Forms.PreviewKeyDownEventHandler(this.canvas_PreviewKeyDown); What is the preferred way of doing this? Can a panel even receive keyboard input? I would like to allow the user to use copy/paste/select-all commands when working with the text input, but not when placing objects in the game world.

• Problem with Linq query and date format

  Hi All I have a C# console application written using Visual Studio 2008. My system culture is en-GB. I have a Linq query that looks like this: var myDate = "19-May-2010"; var cus = from x in _dataContext.testTable where x.CreateDate == Convert.ToDateTime(myDate) select x; The resulting SQL query generates and error because it returns the dates as "19/05/2010" which it interprets as an incorrect date. For some reason even though my system culture is set to en-GB it looks like it's trying to intrepret it as a en-US date. Any ideas how I get around this? Thanks. Alan T

  Has anybody some information about accessing Lotus Domino server to fetch entire mail contents by http(s) requests from php linux server? The article by Andrei Kouvchinnikov describes well how to fetch message list in notes mail folders; after obtaining session id during login one can for example select top 100 messages by calling: https://your.server.domain/mail_db/mailbox.nsf/($Inbox)?ReadViewEntries&Start=1&Count=100 And this works perfectly.   Hi, I'm still learning (baby steps). Messing about with a function and hoping to find a tidier way to deal with my datatables. For the more commonly used tables throughout the life of the program, I'll dump them to datatables and query those instead. What I'm hoping to do is query the datatables for say column x = "this", and convert the values of column "y" directly to a List to return to the caller: private List<string> LookupColumnY(string hex) { List<string> stringlist = new List<string>(); DataRow[] rows = tblDataTable.Select("Columnx = '" + hex + "'", "Columny ASC"); foreach (DataRow row in rows) { stringlist.Add(row["Columny"].ToString()); } return stringlist; } Anyone know a slightly simpler method?   Hello, I happen to have two columns having the same name as two SQL reserved words, Key and Value. When using the SELECT statement I can create a table alias and solve it that way. Now I'm trying to INSERT data and it seems like you can't create table alias in the INSERT statement. INSERT INTO attributeStrings ats (ats.ItemID,ats.Key,ats.Value) VALUES (3,'Categories','TechGUI') I get error at 'ats (ats.ItemID,ats.Key,ats.Value) VALUES (3,'Categories','TechGUI')' indicating that alias can't be created. Are there any ways to solve this without renaming the columns Key and Value?

• UISegmentedControl register taps on selected segment

  Hi, I have a segmented control where the user can select how to order a list. Works fine. However, I would like that when an already selected segment is tapped, the order gets inverted. I have all the code in place, but I don't know how to register the taps on those segments. It seems the only control event you can use is UIControlEventValueChanged, but that isn't working (since the selected segment isn't actually changing). Is there a solution for this? And if so, what is it? Thanks in advance!

  I am looking for a way to programatically open the "New Document" dialog in Word 2007. It is the same one you get when you select File-New . You can also open it using the FileNew macro or the "New..." menu command. However, I have been unable to find a way to do this programmatically. I have tried: Application.Run MacroName:="FileNew" and Dialogs(wdDialogFileNew).Show and CommandBars.FindControl(ID:=5746).Execute but both of these open the old dialog, not the new one that word 2007 uses.

  Hello all, Can anyone explain why this query returns an empty result. SELECT * FROM (`bookmarks`) JOIN `tags` ON `tags`.`bookmark_id` = `bookmarks`.`id` WHERE `tag` = 'clean' AND `tag` = 'simple' In my bookmarks table, I have a bookmark with an id of 70 and in my tags table i have two tags 'clean' and 'simple' both that have the column bookmark_id as 70. I would of thought a result would have been returned? How can I remedy this so that I have the bookmark returned when it has a tag of 'clean' and 'simple'?   I'm using mysql to create an hotel booking system, but i am struggling a little bit to calculate the final bill. I need a SELECT command to get data from several tables and make some calculations. Basically I just need to get the 'night cost' from a table called 'room_types'. Then, use DATEDIFF function to get the difference of days between the 'checkin' and 'checkout' columns in the table 'room_booking' and multiply the difference with the night cost and display the total. These are the tables I would be using: are room_booking, room_types, booking, and room.   Hello, I have a jquery ui autocomplete widget in a form and I'd like to preselect its value from a database. My autocomplete works in the following way: the id is a number, tha label and the value are the same and are a concatenation of id + " - " + description. When a value from the autocomplete is selected, a hidden field's value is set to the value of id. Then, the hidden field value is saved to the db when the form is submitted. When the user comes back on the page for editing, I need to reload the value from the db: I set the idden field value again and then I would like to precompile the value of the autocomplete widget with the concatenation of id + " - " + description taken form the db. I think I should trigger the event of selecting a row in the autocomplete, but I don't know how to do. Do you have any ideas? • Robustly killing Windows programs stuck reporting 'problems'

  I am looking for a means to kill a Windows exe program that, when being tested from a python script, crashes and presents a dialog to the user; as this program is invoked many times, and may crash repeatedly, this is not suitable. The problem dialog is the standard reporting of a Windows error: "Foo.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience" and offers a Debug, Send Error Report, and Don't Send buttons. I am able to kill other forms of dialog resulting from crashes (e.g. a Debug build's assert failure dialog is OK.) I have tried taskkill.exe, pskill, and the terminate() function on the Popen object from the subprocess module that was used to invoke the .exe Has anyone encountered this specific issue, and found a resolution? I expect automating user input to select the window, and press the "Don't Send" button is one possible solution, but I would like something far simpler if possible

  Hi, I am new to NHibernate and need some information regarding the internal working of the engine: I have a table called Student and the design is as follows: RollNo Name City Postcode and there are 5 more columns like this. I have School class and mappings associated with it. I am querying RollNo and Name using session as given below: IQuery query = session.CreateQuery("SELECT RollNo,Name FROM Student); Executing query.List resulting in error because the query is returning object[][]. Now, I changed the query as given below: IQuery query = session.CreateQuery("FROM Student); Executing query.List on this query yeilds the desired results. But, the results contain more data than I want. Could you please let me know the query to which I can get RollNo and Name from Student and castable as Student collection. Thanks, Mahesh

  Hi I am trying to use compiled query for one of my linq to sql queries. This query contains 5 to 6 joins. I was able to create the compiled query but the issue I am facing is my query needs to check if the key is within a collection of keys passed as input. But compiled queries do not allow passing of collection (since collection can have varying number of items hence not allowed). For instance input to the function is a collection of keys. Say: List<Guid> InputKeys List<SomeClass> output = null; var compiledQuery = CompiledQueries.Compile<DataContext, IQueryable<SomeClass>>( (context) => from a in context.GetTable<A>() where InputKeys.Contains(a.Key) select a); using(var dataContext = new DataContext()) { output = compiledQuery(dataContext).ToList(); } return output; Is there any work around or better way to do the above?

  I am trying to use an update trigger in sql 2000 so that when an update occurs, I insert a row into a history table, so I retain all history on a table: CREATE Trigger trUpdate_MyTable ON MyTable FOR UPDATE AS INSERT INTO [MyTableHistory] ( [AuditType] ,[MyTable_ID] ,[Inserted] ,[LastUpdated] ,[LastUpdatedBy] ,[Vendor_ID] ,[FromLocation] ,[FromUnit] ,[FromAddress] ,[FromCity] ,[FromProvince] ,[FromContactNumber] ,[Comment]) SELECT [AuditType] = 'U', D.* FROM deleted D JOIN inserted I ON I.[ID] = D.[ID] GO Of course, I get an error "Cannot use text, ntext, or image columns in the 'inserted' and 'deleted' tables." I tried joining to MyTable instead of deleted, but because the insert triger fires after the insert, it ends up inserting the new record into the history table, when I want the original record. How can I do this and still use text columns?

The problem is the selectedindexchange event will not fire if autopostback is set to false but if i set the autopostback to true. the pop up will go away without going to the selectedindexchange event. is it possible to have a control with autopostback set to true inside the modal pop up?

  Hi I wanted a function to find the greatest of a list of String values passed in. I want to invoke it as Select greatest('Abcd','Efgh','Zxy','EAD') from sql server. It should return Zxy. The number of parameters is variable.Incidentally it is very similar to oracle GREATEST function. So I wrote a very simple CLR function (Vs2008) and tried to deploy it.
