  I've made a simple guestbook mysql/php page. An entry is displayed if the approve column has a value of 1. For the adminstrator, I want to display either "message approved" or "not approved".   I cannot figure this out. I need a solution to call a random function for it's percent. Ex. there is 10% chances that the script calls subscriptions() and 3% chance that the system call the function "specialitems()".   In the Magento Admin section, I want to override the "Sales/Order/ShipmentController.php" controller file of the core Mage. I have tried rewriting the URL, using the "from" & "to" tags, but in vain. I don't know what is the actual & correct way of doing this, as I'm a newbie in Magento. Please anybody provide some good fundamental & correct answer, so that at least the concept gets clear. Also, if possible, please tell me, what is the actual purpose of the controller, for both the frontend & the back-end? Any help is greatly appreciated.

  I have been searching quite a bit for an answer, but maybe I'm just not using the correct terminology. I am creating an app that will access a database to return a list of other users that are within a certain distance of the users location. I've never worked with this type of data, and I don't really know what the values mean. I'd like to do all the calculations on the backend with either MySQL or PHP. Currently, I am storing the latitude and longitude as doubles within the database. I can access them and store them, but I have no idea how I might be able to sort them based on distance. Perhaps I should be using a different type or some technique that is common in this area. TIA.

  I am working on a project in which I have around 100000 addreses in major cities in India(it is a table in a database). I want to know if it is possible to obtain the distances to to nearest landmarks (Mall, Hospital, and Airport etc.). Ideally I want these distances to be mergeed to the parent table. • How to prevent negative number in Mysql

  Hello guys.. I have data which is starting from 0 in my database. My php will add 1 or -1 to the data depending on the user's input. My problem is that if data is 0 and a user try to subtract 1. The data become 4294967295 which is the maximum value of INT data type. Are there anyways to make the data stays in 0 even when the user asks for -1? • How do I print array values in a range when values are supplied?

  My php reads in xml and I want to ouput the values within a given range. I have no way of knowing the size of the array or the range. However, I do know where to start; I have a $key that holds my current location. I also know where to stop; I have the word "ENDEVENTS" between each set. I want to get the values from my current position ($key) to my end position ("ENDEVENTS"). for example i may have an array set like this: Array( [0]=1 [1]=apple [2]=straw [3]=bike [4]=ENDEVENTS [5]=15 [6]=hair [7]=shirt [8]=nose [9]=kiwi [10]=ENDEVENTS ) My code knows when I'm on 15 (in this example $key=5). I want to print 6 through 9. I tried using foreach but it's thats causing issues with what I'm trying to produce. Any ideas?

• Can I include a view in Kohana 3 that is not within `application/views`?

  I am building a staff area for a website, which is completely different to the main brochure style site. I have 2 Kohana systems setup. I realise they can both share the same system and modules folder. Now, with the second one, I want to make the main template view a view in a different folder. I tried this in my base controller $this->template = DOCROOT . '../~new2/application/views/template.php'; But Kohana is looking for it in its own views folder as evident by the error I received. I even put a var_dump(file_exists($this->template)); // true to be sure it was finding the correct file. Is there a way to add a template file that is not within the views folder, without hacking the core Kohana code (and if I'm lucky not extending and overloading the view class).

In order to do that I need some way of getting commands from php to the stdin for this backgrounded job. • How do I Parse the response I get back from CURL?

  I'm sending some data to an external URL using Curl. The server sends me back a response in a string like this: trnApproved=0&trnId=10000002&messageId=7&messageText=DECLINE I can assign this string to a variable like this: $txResult = curl_exec( $ch ); echo "Result:<BR>"; echo $txResult; But how do I use the data that is sent back? I need a way to get the value of each variable sent back so that I can use it in my PHP script. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

So basically what I need to accomplish is, create an array of x amount of numbers (created randomly) who's value add up to n: Lets say, I have to create 4 numbers that add up to 30. I just need the first random dataset. The 4 and 30 here are variables which will be set by the user. Essentially something like x = amount of numbers; n = sum of all x's combined; create x random numbers which all add up to n; $row = array(5, 7, 10, 8) // these add up to 30 Also, no duplicates are allowed. I need the values with an array. I have been messing around with it sometime, however, my knowledge is fairly limited. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Cheers

  Hello, world! I'm trying to build a little bit advanced users system using Joomla, but I stuck at one spot. I added new field on Joomla's jos_users table, but when I wanted to get that field out, like "echo" - it didn't worked at all. Any other data, even password field I can get without problems. Of course, I added new value in /var/www/<project>/libraries/joomla/user/user.php like this after line 40. /** * The users address name * @var string */ var $address = null; What might be the problem here? • Get single Wordpress gallery image with given title

  I am having users of a Wordpress blog upload a single image to different post's galleries with the name "banner". Basically, every post will have an image named "banner" uploaded to its gallery and this image needs to be displayed on the post's page outside of the article content. So, how can I get the URL to display an image in a post's single.php template? Can I iterate through the images of a given post's gallery and find the one with the correct title somehow? I've searched through the Wordpress codex docs and haven't found anything on a way to do this, just information on displaying galleries of photos. Note that I'm already using Wordpress's post thumbnail feature for something else. Thanks!

  Im doing a questionare (form) and i need to put a button submit that do two things : 1) Be a button type INPUT ( because I need to use this kind of button on my php code, I've if(@$_POST['Next']) for save the dates of the form in my DB). 2) That this button will have a link for go to the next screen of the questionare. I tried with a href="demo2.html" target="_blank"><input class="buttonNext" name="submit" type="submit" value="NEXT &#8592" ></a This code don't works but with IE browser on the page page appears a circle next to my button that are the link. So the button don't works, only save the data, but don't link to the next page. How can I solve it ?
