How to add libraries in Eclipse project in C in Linux?

Hi guys, I have just created my first JAR in Eclipse, just a simple program with a single class Database.class. It is not in a package. public class Database { public Database() { int dbInit = 1; } } I have added it as an external JAR to the build path libraries for another project in Eclipse, but for some reason I cannot get Database db = new Database(), the default constructor, to work - it's as if the contents of the JAR are not being recognised. Could anyone please offer any advice on this? Thanks very much, M

Eclipse C++ on WinXP - Type `::iterator' has not been declared

I'm new to C++/Eclipse. I'm trying to get it working to get a new perspective on a problem with a program I wrote in DevCPP. The program is simple and builds fine in DevCPP. In Eclipse, I get hundreds of errors like the one above. I assume the compiler can't see my include files. I've checked that the project settings - GCC C++ compiler - directories contains the location for my include files (D:\MinGW\include\c++\3.4.5). I've prowled around and tried to change 'Discovery Options' to 'GCC C++ Compiler' from 'GCC C Compiler' but it keeps changing back. I guess this is not the problem. Any help would be very welcome. I'm on a tight deadline with many interruptions and this is cracking me up.

Code Completion -- Aptana Eclipse Plugin

I have been doing javascript development for the last couple weeks and have tried JSDT and Aptana to assist in code completion. JSDT wasn't very good at all, but I did have more luck with Aptana (used as eclipse plug-in, not the standalone product). The problem I'm encountering is that when I create javascript classes I cannot get code completion to work. For example, if I use the following then code completion doesn't work: var foo = new function(value){ this.myMethod= function(){ } } I have also verified that the following won't work: function foo(value){ this.myMethod= function(){ } } I have found that using a JSON style does work: var foo = { myMethod: function(){ } } Does anyone know why Aptana works for the last style, but not the first? Using the JSON style won't work for me because I have to have seperate instances of the class in question. Also, I am not very successful in getting code completion to work across files. For example, if I have 3 files in the javascript directory then I usually cannot get Aptana to pick up the JSON style markup in the other two classes. This DID work at one point (for the first 2 classes I created), but since then whenever I add new classes they aren't picked up. Thank you very much for you assistance. Jeremy

I do not want to generate the packages directly in the src/main/java folder, because these packages are genereated and should not be mixed with manual created classes.

PHP Error handling in WordPress plugin

I am a newbie to both PHP and Wordpress (but do ok in C#), and am struggling to understand the error handling in a custom plugin I am attempting to write. The basics of the plugin is to query an exsiting MSSQL database (note its not the standard MYSQL db...) and return the rows back to the screen. This was working well, but the hosting provider has taken my database offline, which led me to the error handling problem (which I thought was ok). The following code is failing to connect to the database (as expected), but puts an error onto the screen and stops the page processing. It does not even output the 'or die' error text. Why does first call to java.io.File.createTempFile(String,String,File) take 5 seconds on Citrix?

While debugging slow startup of an Eclipse RCP app on a Citrix server, I came to find out that java.io.createTempFile(String,String,File) is taking 5 seconds. It does this only on the first execution and only for certain user accounts. Specifically, I am noticing it Citrix anonymous user accounts. I have not tried many other types of accounts, but this behavior is not exhibited with an administrator account. Also, it does not matter if the user has access to write to the given directory or not. If the user does not have access, the call will take 5 seconds to fail. If they do have access, the call with take 5 seconds to succeed. This is on a Windows 2003 Server. I've tried Sun's 1.6.0_16 and 1.6.0_19 JREs and see the same behavior. I googled a bit expecting this to be some sort of known issue, but didn't find anything. It seems like someone else would have had to have run into this before. The Eclipse Platform uses File.createTempFile() to test various directories to see if they are writeable during initialization and this issue adds 5 seconds to the startup time of our application. I imagine somebody has run into this before and might have some insight. Here is sample code I executed to see that it is indeed this call that is consuming the time. LTSP: flash plugin crashes after updates

I am running an alternate install 64 bit Ubuntu 12.04 with ltsp-server-standalone. I recently ran a few updates, including adding wine from the repos, adding Medibuntu, and adding google earth, all on the server, which runs as a user workstation. Before the updates, the flash plugin ran fine in thin clients. However, it now crashes. No problem with running the flash plugin on the server / workstation. I have since followed the LTSPManual pdf to copy over my sources list, add Medibuntu in the chroot, update and upgrade, and then update the image, but the flash plugin still crashes. I was trying to play minecraft in the browser, and I got asked to install a plugin called "IcedTea-Web Plugin (using IcedTea-Web 1.2 (1.2-2ubuntu1))" (something related to Java 6), which I can see now in Tools Addons Plugins. There was another plugin to install (for Java 7), I didn't know if I had to select one, so I just clicked Install or Accept. Now the game or java app only shows a black screen, so I thought I should uninstall the plugin and try installing the other one. But there doesn't seem to be a way to uninstall plugins through the firefox GUI. Any ideas?

Of course I can shut it down from the console view but not with the stop button (it still searches JNDI port at the default 1099 port). I'm looking forward to any solutions. Thank you! How do I make the manifest available during a Maven/Surefire unittest run "mvn test" ? I have an open-source project that I am converting from Ant to Maven, including its unit tests. Here's the project source repository with the Maven project: http://github.com/znerd/logdoc My question pertains to the primary module, called "base". This module has a unit test that tests the behaviour of the static method getVersion() in the class org.znerd.logdoc.Library. This method returns: Library.class.getPackage().getImplementationVersion() The getImplementationVersion() method returns a value of a setting in the manifest file. So far, so good. I have tested this in the past and it works well, as long as the manifest is indeed available on the classpath at the path META-INF/MANIFEST.MF (either on the file system or inside a JAR file). Now my challenge is that the manifest file is not available when I run the unit tests: mvn test Surefire runs the unit tests, but my unit test fails with a mesage indicating that Library.getVersion() returned null. When I want to check the JAR, I find that it has not even been generated. Maven/Surefire runs the unit tests against the classes, before the resources are added to the classpath. So can I either run the unit tests against the JAR (implicitly requiring the JAR to be generated first) or can I make sure the resources (including the manifest file) are generated/copied under target/classes before the unit tests are run? Note that I use Maven 2.2.0, Java 1.6.0_17 on Mac OS X 10.6.2, with JUnit 4.8.1.

This sample app ("thoughtsite") for App Engine contains a pom.xml in its trunk: http://code.google.com/p/thoughtsite/source/browse/#svn/trunk But I don't know what command to run in Maven to set up the project locally. (The README doesn't mention anything about Maven.) I tried to just import the project code directly into Eclipse but it doesn't look like it's in an appropriate format for a direct import. So I assume I need to do something with Maven to get it set up correctly. I haven't really used Maven before so I'm not sure what command I would need to run to set everything up. The pom.xml seems like it downloads a bunch of dependencies for the project like the Spring jar files which I don't see anywhere else in the svn repository.
