• xPad-like app for Windows

  I like to keep notes simple. I have a ton of .txt files littering my desktop. I'd love to find an app like http://getxpad.com/ (Mac Only) for the PC. Evernote/OneNote are overkill. Ideally I'd love to find an powerful notepad app where I can keep the notes in a sidebar and have the main window for the note content. Does such a beast exist?

  OS X Spaces change when the mouse hovers near the edge of the screen. Does anyone know of an app or 'defaults' command to disable this? Warp looks like it might help, but hasn't changed the behavior for me, even though I tried turning it off, or setting a modifier key.

  Is it possible to do the following in Ubuntu? If so can someone point me in the right direction. Say you want to set a keyboard shortcut to do the following: For examples sake, set Alt+F to open Firefox and maximize it, but only if Firefox is not already running. If it is running and not maximized, then maximize the most recently touched Firefox window. If it is maximized, then minimize Firefox. Thanks, Joe

  I am trying to do [me@myPc]$ ssh me@server "nohup myBashScript.sh &" My goal is to launch the process on the server, and then immediately return. It is not working: The job is started on server, but I still get the output on myPc and bash wait for completion prior to asking me for another command. Why ? It's not supposed to ! • How can I tell which "explorer.exe" process is the main one?

  I have a batch file that changes a few registry files, and then restarts explorer.exe so that they take effect. I'm using the command taskkill /f /im explorer.exe and then explorer.exe which of course kills all the explorer.exe processes, including the explorer windows I have open. Obviously, I am using the option to Launch folder windows in a separate process. Is there any way I can determine which instance of explorer.exe is the main one, and just kill that?

I don't have things like command history, coloring, etc like I do when I ssh in as any other user, so I'm curious how to get this working. I've tried almost everything but no success. I.E: I'm trying to install nginx with HTTP_SSL module but i can't seem to pass the correct parameter to the make install clean command.   I would like to make a VNC connection from home to a Windows machine at work. The Windows machine is not accessible from the outside, but there is a Linux box that does have port 22 open, so it would seem that this can be done. But i don't know where is Git/Ungit DocumentRoot to define on virtualhost 80. I've tried to search folder which's name git or ungit but it seems not really exactly.   I am running mysqldump on Ubuntu Linux (10.0.4 LTS) my mySQL version info is: mysql Ver 14.14 Distrib 5.1.41, for debian-linux-gnu (i486) using readline 6.1 I used the following command: mysql -u username -p dbname dbname_backup.sql However when I opened the generated .sql file, I saw that most of the tables had only the schema dumped and in the few cases where the actual data was dumped, only 1 or two records were dumped (there are ATLEAST several tens of records in each table). Does anyone know what maybe going on?

  hi all, i've been reinstalling my oracle and somehow when im trying to start them, it says that apphelp.dll is missing. when i lookup in c:/window/systems32 the apphelp.dll was there. i also download new from internet and try to replace them in case it crash but it said that i cannot delete the file coz it's still running. my question is, if i was doing the right thing by replacing the apphelp.dll can solve my problem, how can i stop this apphelp.dll? thanks

I stupidly shutdown my remote server via ssh instead of restarting it like I wanted to do :( To prevent me doing a silly again, is there a way to display a warning / confirmation on a shutdown command? (like "Are you sure you want to shut down this server?" yes/no ) OR, can I not allow shutting down (but not restarting because I still might need to do that from time to time) over ssh?

• Outlook 2010 says "File is in use by another application or user" while closing

  Outlook opens, gets new emails and everything but when I close it, it gives me the following error and then opens up a Save a File window after I cancel this error message. There's no other computer that may be using Outlook under this User Name because I just set-up a brand new User Name. However, Colligo Briefcase is attached to the Outlook and not sure if this is triggering and if so how I address the issue!? Thanks a lot!

  What is in Oracle's sqlplus equivalent of Linux's man or --help ? When I'm in sqlplus and type help index, I get some commands displayed, but there is no way to get specific sql syntax. For example if I type 'help select' I get: SP2-0172 No HELP matching this tiopic was found. Of course, I would like to get all available options for select command.
