• Visual Studio Publish using Web Deploy gives SSL Exception?

  Im trying to use Web Deploy with arvixe hosting. I enabled Publishing with the host but I get SSL exception when I hit publish. Is anybody familiar with the following exception: Error 59 Web deployment task failed.(Could not complete the request to remote agent URL 'https://yew.arvixe.com:8172/msdeploy.axd?site=mywebsite.com'.) Could not complete the request to remote agent URL 'https://yew.arvixe.com:8172/msdeploy.axd?site=mywebsite.com'. • What Use are Threads Outside of Parallel Problems on MultiCore Systesm?

  Threads make the design, implementation and debugging of a program significantly more difficult. Yet many people seem to think that every task in a program that can be threaded should be threaded, even on a single core system. I can understand threading something like an MPEG2 decoder that's going to run on a multicore cpu ( which I've done ), but what can justify the significant development costs threading entails when you're talking about a single core system or even a multicore system if your task doesn't gain significant performance from a parallel implementation? Or more succinctly, what kinds of non-performance related problems justify threading? Edit Well I just ran across one instance that's not CPU limited but threads make a big difference: TCP, HTTP and the Multi-Threading Sweet Spot Multiple threads are pretty useful when trying to max out your bandwidth to another peer over a high latency network connection. Non-blocking I/O would use significantly less local CPU resources, but would be much more difficult to design and implement.

  I am writing a chatbot using Twisted and wokkel and everything seems to be working except that bot periodically logs off. To temporarily fix that I set presence to available on every connection initialized. Does anyone know how to prevent going offline? (I assume if i keep sending available presence every minute or so bot wont go offline but that just seems too wasteful.) Suggestions anyone? • Pass HTML form entries into a Javascript array to then be written to a client side cookie?

  I'm building a bit of a test-case JS application, something very basic, but have run into some problems. I'm trying to use a HTML form for a user to enter a number, which is then written to a Javascript Array. The user then has the option to write that same array to a local (client side) cookie. (I understand the security implications of this - it's a test-case and not for commercial use.) However, I can't make the connection - how can I capture the HTML entry, press 'submit' which will send it to a JS array, where the user can then press a different 'submit' which will write the array to a text file? If anyone can help I'd appreciate it because it's been nearly 6 hours and it's not funny anymore.

  Is it possible to create objects at designtime without having to have hard coded class definitions, then populate properties with primitives or even strongly typed data types? This might sound confusing, so I will attempt to give you a use case scenario. Use case: You have an XML config file that could hold configuration values for connecting to various systems in an SOA application. In C# the XML file is read, but for each system the configuration properties are different (e.g: SQL might have a connection string, while SharePoint might need a username + password + domain + url, while yet an smtp server would need username + password + port + url) So instead of creating static classes as follows public class SharePointConfiguration or public class SQLConfiguration, then have each class with custom properties (this is cumbersome) or using a 1990's method, an arrayList or some named collection Is there not a more preferred way to achieve this? Taking advantage of new language features, that can still offer design time intellisense, which would make the code easier to maintain and less prone to error. Thanks

  I have some data of an excel file below. At first, I figured that reading from the file could be done using the Excel Library then using an OLEDB connection. I managed to get the DocumentNo column data with the OLEDB approach. However, when the excel file is closed, I am unable to do the operation because it gives an error that "External table is not in the expected format."   I've installed propel bundle for symfony2. my database configuration is: propel: dbal: driver: pgsql user: postgres password: postgres dsn: pgsql:host=localhost;port=5432;dbname=test_database options: {} attributes: {} When i wan to create this database from console (console propel: database:create) i have got strange error : Unable to open PDO connection [wrapped: SQLSTATE[08006] [7] FATAL: database "pgsql" does not exist. i created pgsql database on my localhost and everything was good. Database "test_database" was succesfull created. Can somebody explain me why i got this previous error? On mysql i've created database without any problems.

  Hello, I'm new to Android development and working on an Android application that requires the phone to be connected to the internet, through either Wifi, EDGE or 3G. My application throws a null pointer exception when I call isConnectedOrConnecting(). Hope that anyone knows the solution to this. Thanks in advance!

  We'd like to create a simpler alternative to Excel's CUBEVALUE function for retrieving data from an OLAP server. The details aren't critical, but briefly, our function will "know" the source connection and accept a very simple ticker-like parameter and a date, in place of CUBEVALUE's MDX-style parameters. This is for internal use within our firm, just FYI. However, Excel has optimized CUBEVALUE so that calls to the OLAP server are batched. Question: Is there a way to code the new function so that it can similarly batch calls rather than issue a separate query for each cell?

  Hi, I am working to develop a JMS application(stand alone multithreaded java application) which can receive 100 messages at a time , they need to be processed and database procedures need to be called for inserting/updating data. Procedures are very heavy as validations are also performed in them. Each procedure is taking about 30 to 50 seconds of time to execute and they are capable to run concurrently. My concern is to execute 100 procedures for all 100 messages and also send reply within time limit of 90 seconds by jms application. No application server to be used(requirement) and database is Teradata (RDBMS) I am using connection pool and thread pool in java code and testing code with 90 connections. Question is : (1) What should be the limit on number of connections with database at a time? (2) How many threads at a time are recommended? Thanks, Jyoti

But one user can access the tables from MS access and another user can't. Can you please let me know the reason. Thanks for updating from options. I am looking in to it.   I access a RESTFUL url and get back results. The results are in JSON. I turn the response into a string via: - (void)connectionDidFinishLoading:(NSURLConnection *)connection { NSString *json = [[NSString alloc] initWithBytes:[self.receivedData mutableBytes] length:[self.receivedData length] encoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding]; The json variable has a value of 0x0. When I mouse over it, I see <Invalid CFStringRef. How can I debug this to tell why it is invalid? I render the JSON given back through the browser in A JSON parser. That checks out fine. Results are given back by entering an ID in the URL. Other IDs return results without issue. The result set is fairly large.

  Hi, I Have a DataBase in my project With Table named 'ProcessData' and columns named 'Start_At' (Type: DateTime) and 'End_At' (Type: DateTime) . When I try to enter a new record into this table, it enter the data in the following format: 'YYYY/MM/DD HH:mm', when I actualy want it to be in that format: 'YYYY/MM/DD HH:mm:ss' (the secondes dosen't apper). Does anyone know why, and what should I do in order to fix this?   I'm developing an application where I'm concerned about locking down access to the database. I know I can develop stored procedures (and with proper parameter checking) limit a database user to an exact set of queries to execute. It's imperative that no other queries other then the ones I created in the stored procedures be allowed to execute under that user. Ideally even if a hacker gained access to the database connection (which only accepts connections from certain computers) they would only be able to execute the predefined stored procedures. Must I choose stored procedures for this or can I use Dynamic Sql with these fine grain permissions?

• Couchbase (ex. membase) solution to dump all keys in a bucket

  I was googling around and found various python + tap solutions that should enable me to dump all keys from a bucket but none of them worked for me. I have a bucket at port 11230 and I need to get a dump of all keys in order to fill them into sphinx search engine. If I execute: # python /opt/couchbase/lib/python/tap_example.py 127.0.0.1:11230 I get the following output: info: New bin connection from None error: uncaptured python exception, closing channel <tap.TapConnection connected at 0x7f5d287184d0> (<type 'exceptions.AssertionError'>: [/usr/lib/python2.6/asyncore.py|read|78] [/usr/lib/python2.6/asyncore.py|handle_read_event|428] [/opt/couchbase/lib/python/mc_bin_server.py|handle_read|325]) this error is the same even if I try some other host or port. I also tried many other python scripts that I found on forums and groups but all of them produced the same error. My primary development environment includes PHP & Perl on Debian linux box but I will take any solution that would just dump all the keys into plain text file. Thank you for any help!

  Hi, I'm using HTTP connection to share data with my JSON server. I use URLs like "MyServlet?param1=value1" and so on... I'm now facing a problem with one of my servlet (I can't change it because some other views are using it) : The servlet is working with a syntax including those symbols "{" and "}". The exact syntax is {(value1_value2)(value3_value4)(value5_value6)}{(value7_value8)(value9_value10)(value11_value12)}{(value13_value14)(value15_value16)(value17_value18)} Values are integers, the problem is only when I use "{" and "}" my UrlConnection returns an error for bad URL. I use this to instantiate my NSString : NSString *myURL = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"http://somesite.com/Servlet?PARAM={(%@)}"]; How can I code those char in my NSString ? Thanks in advance !
