  • How can I access a byte array as shorts in Java

    I have a an array of byte, size n, that really represents an array of short of size n/2. Before I write the array to a disk file I need to adjust the values by adding bias values stored in another array of short. In C++ I would just assign the address of the byte array to a pointer for a short array with a cast to short and use pointer arithmetic or use a union. How may this be done in Java - I'm very new to Java BTW.

How can I create a SQL script from the command prompt or Powershell that will let me insert the files into a simple table with the following schema: XMLDataFiles ( xmlFileName varchar(255) , content xml ) All I need is for something to generate a script with a bunch of insert statements. Right now, I'm contemplating writing a silly little .NET console app to write the SQL script. Thanks.

    Hi! How to write a simple method, that checks whether a concrete type is a custom struct (created with public struct { };) or not. Checking Type.IsValueType is not enough, because it is also true to int, long, etc, and adding a check to !IsPrimitiveType won't exclude decimal, DateTime and maybe some other value types.   • Start a git commit message with a hashmark (#)

    Git treats lines starting with # as comment lines when committing. this is very annoying when working with a ticket tracking system, and trying to write the ticket number at the beginning of the line, e.g. #123 salt hashed passwords git will simply remove the line from the commit message. is there any way to escape the hash? i tried \ and !, but nothing works. whitespaces before # are preserved, so they aren't a working solution to the problem either.
