• How would I get an img element to render under a background-image in CSS.

  Basically, I am trying to put a semi-transparent div over an image to serve as a background for text for a slideshow. Unfortunately, the browser seems intent on always rendering the img over the background-image. Is there any way to fix this? Here is my current CSS for the semi-transparent div: #slideshow .info { height: 80px; margin-top: -80px; background: url(../../images/slideshow-info-pixel.png) repeat; } ... with slideshow-info-pixel.png being a single pixel, 50% opacity, PNG 24. I have so far tried z-index and the CSS must be compatible with IE6.

  I have a problem showing the image form database in a view Details and a ImageController. Inside the view i have: img src=Url.Action("GetFile","Image", new {id= Model.id}) and in controller: public FileContentResult GetFile(int idl) { //int idl = 32; SqlDataReader rdr; byte[] fileContent = null; ........... return File(,,); } When the view is called, function GetFile it just wont work,but if i cut out the parameter int id1 and i instantiate it as a variable it'l work. public FileContentResult GetFile() { int idl = 32; SqlDataReader rdr; byte[] fileContent = null; ........... return File(,,); } Why?

• How do you send an array as part of an (jquery) ajax request

  I tried to send an array as part of an ajax request like this: var query = []; // in between I add some values to 'query' $.ajax({ url: "MyServlet", data: query, dataType: "json", success: function(noOfResults) { alert(noOfResults); } }); } I wanted to see what I get back in the servlet, so I used this line: System.out.println(request.getParameterMap().toString()); Which returned {} suggesting an empty map. Firebug tells me I am getting a 400 bad request error If I send a queryString like attribute=value as the 'data' then everything works fine, so it has to do with not being able to send an array as is. What do I have to do to get that data into the servlet for further processing. I don't want to pull it out and turn it into a queryString in the JS if I can avoid it. EDIT: I used the .serializeArray() (jQuery) function before sending the data. I don't get the 400 but nothing useful is being sent through.

  After going through few articles about performance, Not able to get this statement exactly. "When a Drawable is attached to a view, the view is set as a callback on the drawable" Soln: "Setting the stored drawables’ callbacks to null when the activity is destroyed." What does that mean, e.g. In my app , I initialize an imageButton in onCreate() like this, imgButton= (ImageButton) findViewById(R.id.imagebtn); At later stage, I get an image from an url, get the stream and convert that to drawable, and set image btn like this, imgButton.setImageDrawable(drawable); According to the above statement, when I am exiting my app, say in onDestroy() I have to set stored drawables’ callbacks to null, not able to understand this part ! In this simple case what I have to set as null ? I am using Android 2.2 Froyo, whether this technique is required, or not necessary.

• Can the Browser 'Forward' Button be Set from HTML?

  Example: At the bottom of the StackOver Questions page are a bunch of page numbers (1,2,3...), enclosed in a set of prev and next buttons. Clicking next repeatedly will bring me to, say page 5, at which point I will have: The page's prev button will be set to 'http://stackoverflow.com/questions?page=4' The Back button on my Browser will have the same value. The page's next button will be set to 'http://stackoverflow.com/questions?page=6' The Forward button on my Browser - won't be set to anything. Obviously, if I hit the Back button on the Browser, then Forward will have a value, pointing to the URL for page 5 - but not otherwise. Is there any way, from HTML (plus Javascript), to set the value of the Browser's Forward button? Or is this one of those things that HTML is simply forbidden to do?

• Oracle Hibernate with in Netbean RCP

  All, i have a problem with hibernate using netbean platform 6.8, i have been search around internet, but cannot found the suitable answer This is my story. i am using oracle database as data source of my hibernate entity with ojdbc14.jar driver. First i create hibernate entity tobe wrapped latter in a netbeans module, i tested the hibernate connection configuration and everything just works well. i can connect to oracle database successfuly, every hibernate query works well. Then i wrapped that hibernate entity jar as a netbeans module, create another module to warp my ojdbc14.jar then i test it. and, im using hibernate library dependency that available on netbean platform (netbean 6.8), but unfutornatelly i got oracle sql error saying “no suitable driver for [connection url]” when running the project. thats quite weird since it doesn’t happend when I test it before with out netbean platform. i thought that is related to netbeans lazy loading issue, i am not sure,. any idea ? tq for help

• Flex 4: Loading XML into a Model Actionsript Class

  I'm trying to create an actionscript class to serve as a data model for my Flex app. I already have a formatted XML file to read from, and when I was simply declaring the data service in my MXML app I used this code inside the declarations: I'm now trying to create a model class and can't seem to get the same functionality. I've tried importing mx.rpc.http.HTTPService but i think this is different. And using the XML class doesn't seem to allow the ability to define a source url. I'm assuming that I am able to declare a public var inside my class that will read this XML source file as I had done in the main app. If this is possible, how do I do it?

  I have a simple GAE app that includes a login/logout link. This app is running on the dev server at the moment. The base page handler gets the current user, and creates a login/logout url appropriately.   We are trying to integrate visual website optimizer into a site of ours that uses Code Igniter. The problem is when we go into the VWO control panel to look at stats and previews nothing seems to be working. In the previews panel, all of them come up as code igniter error pages that say "The URI you submitted has disallowed characters." I have researched some solutions to this and have tried changing the regex in system/config to allow more characters, all characters etc and I am still having the problem. Any known issues or problems trying to integrate VWO and Code Igniter? This definitely seems to be a url issue but I can't nail it down.

  I am developing my own lightbox kind of jquery plugin. Everything works but I want to hide the loaded content until the images have loaded in the browser from the AJAX call. I found a similar post and I am using the following script but the setTimeout function is what reveals the content and not the .load function.   I am trying to use openFire + jsjac for my application as chat option. I have installed openfire in my local machine and it is running fine on http://127.0.0.1:4040/ and i have downloaded jsjac version 1-3-4. 1) when I run sampleClient.html file directly [URL: C:\tomcat\webapps\jsjac\examples\simpleclient.html] I am able to connect sampleClient with openFire. Select Http Binding http Base : http://127.0.0.1:7070/http-bind/ jabber server : 127.0.0.1 username : admin password : ** 2) But when I put jsjac folder in tomcat/webapps/ directory, I access sampleClient through http://127.0.0.1:8080/jsjac/examples/sampleClient.html, at that time using above setting (which i have used in step 1) it is giving error "Service unavailable". In step 1 when though I am connected with openFire, when I send a message it displays only "message received from admin@localhost", but it does not display the actual message.. I need your advice on these problems... Thanks.

  We need to load an embedded version of a site written in Flash, and not originally designed to load multiple instances of itself, on a HTML page. The specific issue is how to get them to load in order when embedded, given that they are all being opened by the same instance of the flash player. It's a complicated mapping application, and at the moment, the maps and data get intermixed as the session variables are overwritten by another instance starting to load before the previous one has finished. We need a way to have them load sequentially, one finishing before another starts to load. The most we can specify in the URL is an &order=1 or similar. We have PHP and SQL on the backend. Edit: The embedded versions are being loaded in an iFrame of a parent site. One php file loads one swf, as many times as the parent site desires.

• Default Contoller in CodeIgniter

  I am wondering if there is any other configuration options for a default controller. For example - if I have a controller called "site" and I set the default controller in the following file: application/config/routes.php to: $route['default_controller'] = "site"; I should be able to go to http://localhost and that brings up the index(); function in the site controller. However, if I try to do go to http://localhost/index.php/index2 to load the index2(); function I get a 404 error. If I change the URL to http://localhost/index.php/site/index2 it works fine - but I thought already set the default controller. Is there any way around this?

• How do you pass objects between View Controllers in Objective-C?

  I've been trudging through some code for two days trying to figure out why I couldn't fetch a global NSMutableArray variable I declared in the .h and implemented in .m and set in a the viewDidLoad function. It finally dawned on me: there's no such thing as a global variable in Objective-C, at least not in the PHP sense I've come to know. I didn't ever really read the XCode error warnings, but there it was, even if not quite plain English: "Instance variable 'blah' accessed in class method." My question: What am I supposed to do now? I've got two View Controllers that need to access a central NSMutableDictionary I generate from a JSON file via URL. It's basically an extended menu for all my Table View drill downs, and I'd like to have couple other "global" (non-static) variables. Do I have to grab the JSON each time I want to generate this NSMutableDictionary or is there some way to set it once and access it from various classes via #import? Do I have to write data to a file, or is there another way people usually do this?
