asp.net mvc xval validation

Hi there I am using xval for the first time, it seems to work fine for required fields, However I am having some issues first of all it does not seem to validate booleans and also client validation is not working for me, this is not a major issue for me, the one that I really need to work is the stringlength property. It seems to do something because the form is not posted when the string length is exceeded, however no error message is displayed to the user which is obviously not what I want, has anyone been able to do this successfully? Okay I have this MySQL database form and am trying to add validation to it. After 2 days of fighting with it, I thought I would get some advice. Would like that the selected item from dropdown and Firstname, Phone, Email, are all required. This makes the code much less cluttered (no need to use [UseValidationRuleset("something")] on every single property) but it somehow doesn't feel right. I can't decide if it's awful or awesome. What do you think? Any suggestions on the other parts of this design are welcome too. I'm not very experienced and I'm grateful for any help. Also, is "Validatable" a good name? To me, it sounds pretty weird but I'm not a native English speaker.

root's .profile and .shrc, tmux works perfectly. Occasionally (twice out of the 50 or so times I've tested it), the splitting will work fine once in a session. (This happened for example when I ran ktrace on tmux, which I can also post) To explain the 'suddenly' part of the title: when I started my newly updated mysql56-server, tmux immediately exited and lost the session. Recently I changed architectures, from FreeBSD 10.0 i386 to amd64, and I am still working through shared library incompatibilities. I suspect that this could be involved, but I can't imagine how an incompatibility of this sort could result in such a specific, isolated failure.

Is there a way to make Notepad++ auto-complete words on Tab instead of Enter? Currently, if want to type, say, frame, then Enter to begin a new line, instead the Enter will select the first auto-complete suggestion, like frameElement: I do want the auto-complete feature, but I'd rather have a key like Tab do the actual selection, because Enter is frequently purposed toward starting a new line, whereas Tab is rarely used to indent after a word (since indenting is usually done at the start of lines), and so perhaps would be better repurposed toward auto-completion.

Django - How best to handle ValidationErrors after form.save(commit=False)

This is a fragment of my code from a view: if form.is_valid(): instance = form.save(commit=False) try: instance.account = request.account instance.full_clean() except ValidationError, e: # Do something with the errors here... I don't know what the best thing to do here is, but I certainly don't want to do it 180 times. This is an utter mess. Who would want to handle validation errors manually in every view. If you're not modifying the instance after save(commit=False), you don't have to worry about this, but what about in my case where every model has a foreign key to account which is set behind the scenes and hidden from the user? Any help is really appreciated.

ASP.NET: Dynamically enable or disable RequiredFieldValidator based on value of DropDownList

I have an ASP.NET form with three text inputs, one each for "Work Phone", "Home Phone" and "Cell Phone". Each of these text inputs has a RequiredFieldValidator associated with it. I also have a DropDownList where the user can select the preferred phone type. I want to only require the field that is selected in the DropDownList. For example, if the user selects "Work Phone" from the DropDownList, I want to disable the RequiredFieldValidator for "Home Phone" and "Cell Phone", thereby only making the "Work Phone" field required. I have a method that enables and disables these validators based on the value of the DropDownList, but I cannot figure out when to call it. I want this method to run before the validation takes place on the page. How would I do that? Let me know if you need any more information. Thanks.

Hi Does anyone know if there is a way to get a list of controls that have the ErrorProvider icon active. ie. any controls that failed validation. I'm trying to avoid looping all controls in the form. I'd like to display some sort of message indicating how many errors there are on the form. As my form contains tabs I'm trying to make it apparent to the user that errors may exist on inactive tabs and they need to check all tabs. Thanks Barry

I was wondering whether the following are possible using the package: Add help texts beside/below input/select fields and textareas (e.g. "This field is required", "Example: qwerty123") Add/modify attributes for the input/select fields and textareas (e.g. adding the following attributes: class, id, name, maxlength, minlength, etc.) Add custom validations like checking whether a particular field should be unique or checking a value against a regular expression Modify the error messages Add another column to the table generated by the form Also note that djangoforms.ModelForm is different from django.forms.Form.

The hibernate schema validator seems to fail when the Java Double datatype is used. org.hibernate.HibernateException: Wrong column type in DB.TABLE for column amount. Found: float, expected: double precision The only way to avoid this is to disable schema validation and hope the schema is in sync with the app about to run. Model Not Valid Even With No [Required] Attribute

Using DataAnnotations with Entity Framework

I have used the Entity Framework with VS2010 to create a simple person class with properties, firstName, lastName, and email. If I want to attach DataAnnotations like as is done in this blog post I have a small problem because my person class is dynamically generated. I could edit the dynamically generated code directly but any time I have to update my model all my validation code would get wiped out. First instinct was to create a partial class and try to attach annotations but it complains that I'm trying to redefine the property. I'm not sure if you can make property declarations in C# like function declarations in C++. If you could that might be the answer.
