  • How can I persuade our team to use mac as our development platform?

    I'm joining a start up and there's a debate on which platform we should choose for our development; Mac, Linux or Windows? We're gonna use mainly open source tools and languages like, ruby, rails, PHP and mysql and photoshop (or something equivalent on Linux) for design.     When a Cocoa NIB file instantiates an instance of a custom controller object, what is the name of the variable that that custom controller instance is assigned to? In case that isn't clear, if you manually created an instance of that class you would do: MyControllerClass *myVar = [[MyControllerClass alloc] init]; What equivalent of "myVar" has the NIB used when doing this behind the scenes?

  • How to create lines with Athens?

    I have no clue how to create lines with Athens. I took a look at Cairo docs but I cant see how Athens is related to Cairo. http://zetcode.com/gfx/cairo/basicdrawing/ In the above link I cant find any equivalent for cairo_set_line_width(cr, 1); I tried to look inside Athens but is nowhere to be found. Overall I find the Athens architecture quite confusing though Cairo looks simple. Any idea how to makes this work ?

    i am trying to develop website using zend framework so i had created one index.php file where all my requests goes and c.reated two controller one is IndexController and other is TestController Class IndexController extends Zend_Controller_Action{ public function indexAction(){ echo "Index Index Jamla"; } public function displayAction(){ echo "Index Display Jamla"; } } now when i access the url http://test/ it correctly calls IndexController and its IndexAction function but when i access the url http://test/index/index it displays the message url /index/index was not found on this server same it does when i access http://test/test/index though http://test/ is equivalent to http://test/index/index

    I have a script. I would like to give this script a quiet mode and a verbose mode. This is the equivalent of: if $verbose then redirect="> /dev/null" fi echo "Verbose mode enabled" $redirect # This doesn't work because the redirect isn't evaluated. I'd really like a better way of doing this than writing if-elses for every statement affected. eval could work, but has obvious side effects on other variables.

    I was playing around with the rx function for generating regular expressions from sexps in ELISP but couldn't figure out how to generate the regular expression "\\documentclass" for use in org-export-latex-classes: (rx "\\documentclass") (rx "\\" "documentclass") (rx (char "\\") "documentclass") Which when evaluated give respectively the following outputs: "\\\\documentclass" "\\\\documentclass" "[\\]documentclass" Is "\\documentclass" equivalent to "[\\]documentclass"?---I think it is, but am not sure. Can I generate the former using rx? Edit: Whilst the question was valid I realize my motivation was not; because org-export-latex-classes use strings not regular expressions.
