Hi,
I need to write a program to scrape forums.
Should I write the program in Python using the Scrapy framework or should I use Php cURL?
Also is there a Php equivalent to Scrapy?
Thanks
I'm in a situation where I want to add the equivalent of the sql statement
SET QUERY_GOVERNOR_COST_LIMIT
to my query I created with linq to entities.
How would I go about that?
I've read lots of tutorials on how to deserialize a JSON object to an object of a particular using DataContractJsonSerializer. However, I'd like to deserialize my object to a Dictionary consisting of either Strings, Arrays or Dictionaries, such as System.Json does with SilverLight when I say JsonObject.Parse(myJSONstring).
Is there an equivalent to System.Json that I can use in my WPF project?
(just a short background: I'm fetching JSON objects that have way to much info, and I just want to use a little bit to fill out a String array)
Cheers
Nik
Take the following code in C/C++, for example:
int foo[] = {0, 0, 0, 0};
No magic numbers, right?
Now, the Python "equivalent" of that would be:
foo = [0, 0, 0, 0]
Still no magic numbers.
However, in Python, that same thing can be written like this:
foo = [0] * 4
And now we DO have a magic number. Or do we?
I'm guessing this and other similar things are present on these and other languages.
Good Morning,
I was just hoping that someone could point me to a reference that defines about what JBOSS annotations are equivalent to what xml tags. I am particularly interested in these tags:
@WebContext in org.jboss.ws.annotation.WebContext
and
@SecurityDomain in org.jboss.annotation.security.SecurityDomain
I know about hashing algorithm and hashCode() to convert "key" into an equivalent integer (using some mathematically random expression) that is then compressed and stored into buckets.
But can someone point me to an implementation or at least data structure that should be used as baseline?
I haven't found it anywhere on the web.
Hello,
In my table I have a serial number field, which is represneted by string.. It has a prefix and some numbers follow. Eg: ABC1234, ABC2345 etc. How to retrieve the largest value (max equivalent of int type) from this column. In my case it would be ABC2345. I probably could retrieve all the data,, sort it and get the same, but that would be slow.
thanks in advance..
This often returns NAN ("Not A Number") depending on input:
#define PI 3.1415f
GLfloat sineEaseIn(GLfloat ratio) {
return 1.0f-cosf(ratio * (PI / 2.0f));
}
I tried making PI a few digits smaller to see if that would help. No dice.
Then I thought it might be a datatype mismatch, but float and glfloat seem to be equivalent:
gl.h
typedef float GLfloat;
math.h
extern float cosf( float );
Is this a casting issue?
Is it possible to create, for instance, a box model hack while using in-line CSS?
For example:
<div id="blah" style="padding: 5px; margin: 5px; width: 30px; /*IE5-6 Equivalent here*/">
Thanks!
I'm trying to create a WPF window that will encompass the entire Desktop working area. In WinForms I'd do this by getting the Union of all the bounds in System.Windows.Forms.Screen.AllScreens.
Is there an equivalent type or other mechanism to get the bounds of the entire desktop in WPF or do I need to use the WinForms type?
I got a headache looking for this:
How do you use s/// in an expression as opposed to an assignment. To clarify what I mean, I'm looking for a perl equivalent of python's re.sub(...) when used in the following context:
newstring = re.sub('ab', 'cd', oldstring)
The only way I know how to do this in perl so far is:
$oldstring =~ s/ab/cd/;
$newstring = $oldstring;
Note the extra assignment.
I'm programming in Java using a French machine with an AZERTY keybord. I like to type text with a certain character, the colon, test: hello. When I launch the test, only test is displayed. Are there ways in Java to convert the colon : to the QWERTY equivalent?
I just read a blog post about NHibernate's ability to create a GUID from the system time (Guid.Comb), thus avoiding a good amount of database fragmentation. You could call it the client-side equivalent to the SQL Server Sequential ID.
Is there a way I could use a similar strategy in my Linq-to-Sql project (by generating the Guid in code)?
I want to convert a C# style generic type string, like
System.Dictionary<System.String, System.String>
to it's CLR equivalent:
System.Dictionary`1[System.String, System.String]
and back. Is there an easy way to do this, or do I have to resort to string manipulation?
What is the JavaScript equivalent to the following PHP code:
$expTime = time() + (5 * 60 * 60); // now plus 5 hours (5 hour; 60 mins; 60 secs)
$expTimeStr = gmdate('Y-m-d\TH:i:s\Z', $expTime);
This might be a duplicate question.But could not find it in search
In java to mark a method parameter as constant we declare it as final whats the equivalent C# keyword?
Like:
public void doSomeThing(final object myObject)
{
//print myobject
}
Hi, is it possible (a Google API or something) to get the ranking of a website given a search word? It's the code equivalent of doing a Google search for a word, then browsing through the results until you find the website you look for.
By ranking I mean the position in the pages found, e.g. the site is number 4000 when searching for some word.
Thanks!
I would like to move a file or folder from one place to another within the same repository without having to use Repo Browser to do it, and without creating two independent add/delete operations. Using Repo Browser works fine except that your code will be hanging in a broken state until you get any supporting changes checked in afterwards (like the .csproj file for example).
Update: People have suggested "move" from the command line. Is there a TortoiseSVN equivalent?
Hi all,
I installed the latest version of Cygwin with a number of packages.
I soon realised that I need more packages (such as wget, etc) and I coudln't find a way to install the new packages without running the set up again and reinstall everything from scratch.
What I'm looking for is the equivalent of apt-get on Cygwin (if such a thing exists).
Cheers,
Mulone
In "traditional" ASP.NET (Web Forms), the UpdatePanel control lets you do a partial refresh of a part of a page. You don't need to write much code to hook this up.
What's the equivalent in ASP.NET MVC? I'm guessing I'd need to use a partial view for the bit that I want to update, then on the client side retrieve that HTML and pump it into the innerHtml of the correct DIV?
A tutorial/example would be helpful...
In perl suppose I have a string like 'hello\tworld\n', and what I want is:
'hello world
'
That is, "hello", then a literal tab character, then "world", then a literal newline. Or equivalently, "hello\tworld\n" (note the double quotes).
In other words, is there a function for taking a string with escape sequences and returning an equivalent string with all the escape sequences interpolated?
I am trying to use the asin() function in an iOS app to calculate an angle from the y axis. I am using trigonometry, but I must be doing something wrong with the asin() function, as when I try to pass in 0.707.... as asin(rotation) where rotation is a double equivalent to 0.707..., I get around 0.78....., where as my calculator gives me 44.991..., which is about correct from the variables passed in. What am I doing wrong, please can somebody help me?
In a Windows command script, one can determine the directory path of the currently executing script using %~dp0. For example:
@echo Running from %~dp0
What would be the equivalent in a BASH script?
I found the following C++ code (comments added myself):
// frame_name is a char array
// prefix is std::string
// k is a for loop counter
// frames is a std::vector string
sprintf(frameName, "%s_%0*s.bmp", prefix.c_str(), k, frames[k].c_str());
I then try to translate it to C#
// prefix is string
// k is a for loop counter
// frames is List<string>
string frameName = string.Format("{0}_(what goes in here?).bmp", prefix, k, frames[k]);
Basically, what would be the C# equivalent of the C++ format string "%s_%0*s.bmp"?
