  • Application isn't showing up in launcher

    - by CaldwellYSR
    So I downloaded eclipse earlier today so I can start to learn the Android SDK. I typically write java programs with vim from the command line but I was having trouble making the sdk work from the command line. Anyways Eclipse was begin weird so I uninstalled it with Synaptic, then I reinstalled. Now it seems to be working fine except I can't get eclipse to show up in the launcher... Is there anything I may be missing that would make the launcher show up?

  • WPF DataContext does not refresh the DataGrid using MVVM model

    - by vikram bhatia
    Project Overview I have a view which binds to a viewmodel containing 2 ObserverableCollection. The viewmodel constructor populates the first ObserverableCollection and the view datacontext is collected to bind to it through a public property called Sites. Later the 2ed ObserverableCollection is populated in the LoadOrders method and the public property LoadFraudResults is updated for binding it with datacontext. I am using WCF to pull the data from the database and its getting pulled very nicely. VIEWMODEL SOURCE class ManageFraudOrderViewModel:ViewModelBase { #region Fields private readonly ICollectionView collectionViewSites; private readonly ICollectionView collectionView; private ObservableCollection<GeneralAdminService.Website> _sites; private ObservableCollection<FraudService.OrderQueue> _LoadFraudResults; #endregion #region Properties public ObservableCollection<GeneralAdminService.Website> Sites { get { return this._sites; } } public ObservableCollection<FraudService.OrderQueue> LoadFraudResults { get { return this._LoadFraudResults;} } #endregion public ManageFraudOrderViewModel() { //Get values from wfc service model GeneralAdminService.GeneralAdminServiceClient generalAdminServiceClient = new GeneralAdminServiceClient(); GeneralAdminService.Website[] websites = generalAdminServiceClient.GetWebsites(); //Get values from wfc service model if (websites.Length > 0) { _sites = new ObservableCollection<Wqn.Administration.UI.GeneralAdminService.Website>(); foreach (GeneralAdminService.Website website in websites) { _sites.Add((Wqn.Administration.UI.GeneralAdminService.Website)website); } this.collectionViewSites= CollectionViewSource.GetDefaultView(this._sites); } generalAdminServiceClient.Close(); } public void LoadOrders(Wqn.Administration.UI.FraudService.Website website) { //Get values from wfc service model FraudServiceClient fraudServiceClient = new FraudServiceClient(); FraudService.OrderQueue[] OrderQueue = fraudServiceClient.GetFraudOrders(website); //Get values from wfc service model if (OrderQueue.Length > 0) { _LoadFraudResults = new ObservableCollection<Wqn.Administration.UI.FraudService.OrderQueue>(); foreach (FraudService.OrderQueue orderQueue in OrderQueue) { _LoadFraudResults.Add(orderQueue); } } this.collectionViewSites= CollectionViewSource.GetDefaultView(this._LoadFraudResults); fraudServiceClient.Close(); } } VIEW SOURCE public partial class OrderQueueControl : UserControl { private ManageFraudOrderViewModel manageFraudOrderViewModel ; private OrderQueue orderQueue; private ButtonAction ButtonAction; private DispatcherTimer dispatcherTimer; public OrderQueueControl() { LoadOrderQueueForm(); } #region LoadOrderQueueForm private void LoadOrderQueueForm() { //for binding the first observablecollection manageFraudOrderViewModel = new ManageFraudOrderViewModel(); this.DataContext = manageFraudOrderViewModel; } #endregion private void cmbWebsite_SelectionChanged(object sender, SelectionChangedEventArgs e) { BindItemsSource(); } #region BindItemsSource private void BindItemsSource() { using (OverrideCursor cursor = new OverrideCursor(Cursors.Wait)) { if (!string.IsNullOrEmpty(Convert.ToString(cmbWebsite.SelectedItem))) { Wqn.Administration.UI.FraudService.Website website = (Wqn.Administration.UI.FraudService.Website)Enum.Parse(typeof(Wqn.Administration.UI.FraudService.Website),cmbWebsite.SelectedItem.ToString()); //for binding the second observablecollection******* manageFraudOrderViewModel.LoadOrders(website); this.DataContext = manageFraudOrderViewModel; //for binding the second observablecollection******* } } } #endregion } XAML ComboBox x:Name="cmbWebsite" ItemsSource="{Binding Sites}" Margin="5" Width="100" Height="25" SelectionChanged="cmbWebsite_SelectionChanged" DataGrid ItemsSource ={Binding Path = LoadFraudResults} PROBLEM AREA: When I call the LoadOrderQueueForm to bind the first observablecollection and later BindItemsSource to bind 2ed observable collection, everything works fine and no problem for the first time binding. But, when I call BindItemsSource again to repopulate the obseravablecollection based on changed selected combo value via cmbWebsite_SelectionChanged, the observalblecollection gets populated with new value and LoadFraudResults property in viewmodule is populated with new values; but when i call the datacontext to rebind the datagrid,the datagrid does not reflect the changed values. In other words the datagrid doesnot get changed when the datacontext is called the 2ed time in BindItemsSource method of the view. manageFraudOrderViewModel.LoadOrders(website); this.DataContext = manageFraudOrderViewModel; manageFraudOrderViewModel values are correct but the datagrid is not relected with changed values. Please help as I am stuck with this thing for past 2 days and the deadline is approaching near. Thanks in advance

  • ASP.NET MVC jquery.UI dialog - How to validate the dialog's input on server and return error?

    - by Rick
    I am using jQuery1.4.2, ASP.NET MVC 2 and jQuery.UI-1.8. I am creating a data input dialog which works OK when all the data is valid, but I want to validate the input data on the server and return an error to the dialog describing the error and I am not quite sure how to do that and keep the dialog open. The dialog is opened when a link is clicked. The solution may be to try to bypass more of the MVC framework's default binding that handles the submit button clicks and creates the expected ProfilePermission object and calls the Controller's AddPermission POST Action method, but I was hoping there may be an easier way without have to write more jquery/javascript code to handle the button clicks and pass the data to the server. My script code looks like $("#dialog").dialog({ modal: true, position: ['center', 180], width: 500, height: 130, autoOpen: false }); $(".addPermissionDialog").click(function (event) { event.preventDefault(); $("#dialog").dialog('open'); return false; }); My View <div id="dialog" title="Add Permission"> <%: Html.ValidationSummary("") %> <% using (Html.BeginForm("AddPermission", "Profile")) { %> <%: Html.Hidden("PersonId") %> <%: Html.Hidden("ProfileId") %> <div class="editor-label"> <label for="PersonName">User Name:</label> <%: Html.TextBox("PersonName")%> <label for="PermissionType">Permission:</label> <select name="PermissionTypeId" id="PermissionTypeId" > <option value="2">Edit</option> <option value="3">View</option> </select> </div> <br /> <p> <input type="submit" name="saveButton" value="Add Permission" /> <input type="submit" id="cancelButton" name="cancelButton" value="Cancel" /> <script type="text/javascript"> document.getElementById("cancelButton").disableValidation = true; </script> </p> <% } %> </div> <br /> <p> <%: Html.ActionLink("Add Permission", "AddPermission", new { profileId = Model.First().ProfileId }, new { @class = "addPermissionDialog" })%> </p> My Controller action [AcceptVerbs("Post")] [HandleError] public ActionResult AddPermission(string cancelButton, ProfilePermission profilePermission) { ViewData["Controller"] = controllerName; ViewData["CurrentCategory"] = "AddPermission"; ViewData["ProfileId"] = profilePermission.ProfileId; PermissionTypes permission = repository.GetAccessRights(profilePermission.ProfileId); if (permission == PermissionTypes.View || permission == PermissionTypes.None) { ViewData["Message"] = "You do not have access rights (Edit or Owner permissions) to this profile"; return View("Error"); } // If cancel return to previous page if (cancelButton != null) { return RedirectToAction("ManagePermissions", new { profileId = profilePermission.ProfileId }); } if (ModelState.IsValid) { repository.SavePermission(profilePermission); return RedirectToAction("ManagePermissions", new { profileId = profilePermission.ProfileId }); } // IF YOU GET HERE THERE WAS AN ERROR return PartialView(profilePermission); // The desire is to redisplay the dialog with error message }

    I have implemented below code but app has been crashed in iPad with iOS version 6.1.3,while running perfectly in iPad with iOS version 5.1.1. when I am scrolling table view continuously it is crashed in ios version 6.1.3. what could be the issue. The implemented delegate and data source methods for the table view are as given below. #pragma mark - Table view data source -(NSInteger)numberOfSectionsInTableView:(UITableView *)tableView { // Return the number of sections. return 1; } -(NSInteger)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView numberOfRowsInSection:(NSInteger)section { // Return the number of rows in the section. return [UserList count]; } -(CGFloat)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView heightForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { return 70; } -(UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { static NSString *CellIdentifier = @"Cell"; UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:CellIdentifier]; //cell = [[[UITableViewCell alloc]initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleDefault reuseIdentifier:CellIdentifier] autorelease]; cell = nil; if (cell == nil) { // cell = [[[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectZero reuseIdentifier:CellIdentifier] autorelease]; cell = [[[UITableViewCell alloc]initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleDefault reuseIdentifier:CellIdentifier] autorelease]; } UIImageView *imgViweback; imgViweback = [[UIImageView alloc]initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0,0,0,0)]; imgViweback.image = [UIImage imageNamed:@"1scr-Student List Tab BG.png"]; UIImageView *imageView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(5, 10, 32, 32)]; UIImageView *imageView1 = [[UIImageView alloc]initWithFrame:CGRectMake(12, 5, 50, 50)]; UILabel *lblName = [[UILabel alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(110, 5, 200, 40)]; //cell.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; //cell.alpha = 0.5f; CountSelected = 0; flagQuizEnabled = NO; if ([[[checkedImages objectAtIndex:indexPath.row] valueForKey:@"checked"] isEqualToString:@"NO"]) { // cell.imageView.image = [UIImage imageNamed:@"Unchecked.png"]; //imageView.image = [UIImage imageNamed:@"Unchecked.png"]; } else { //imageView.image = [UIImage imageNamed:@"Checked.png"]; } NSString *pathTillApp=[[self getImagePath] stringByDeletingLastPathComponent]; NSLog(@"Path Till App %@",pathTillApp); NSString *makePath=[NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@%@",pathTillApp,[[UserList objectAtIndex:indexPath.row ]valueForKey:@"ImagePath"]]; NSLog(@"makepath=%@",makePath); imageView1.image = [UIImage imageWithContentsOfFile:makePath]; [cell.contentView insertSubview:imgViweback atIndex:0]; [cell.contentView insertSubview:imageView atIndex:0]; [cell.contentView insertSubview:imageView1 atIndex:2]; lblName.text =[NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@ %@",[[UserList objectAtIndex:indexPath.row] valueForKey:@"FirstName"],[[UserList objectAtIndex:indexPath.row] valueForKey:@"LastName"]]; lblName.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; lblName.font = [UIFont boldSystemFontOfSize:22.0f]; //lblName.font = [UIFont fontWithName:@"HelveticaNeue Heavy" size:22.0f]; lblName.font = [UIFont fontWithName:@"Chalkboard SE" size:22.0f]; [cell.contentView insertSubview:lblName atIndex:3]; [imgViweback release]; [imageView release]; [imageView1 release]; [lblName release]; imgViweback = nil; imageView = nil; imageView1 = nil; lblName = nil; //cell.accessoryType = UITableViewCellAccessoryDetailDisclosureButton; return cell; } #pragma mark - Table view delegate -(void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { NSLog(@"Values : %@", Val); }

  • Refactoring multiple interfaces to a common interface using MVVM, MEF and Silverlight4

    - by Brian
    I am just learning MVVM with MEF and already see the benefits but I am a little confused about some implementation details. The app I am building has several Models that do the same with with different entities (WCF RIA Services exposing a Entity framework object) and I would like to avoid implementing a similar interface/model for each view I need and the following is what I have come up with though it currently doesn't work. The common interface has a new completed event for each model that implements the base model, this was the easiest way I could implement a common class as the compiler did not like casting from a child to the base type. The code as it currently sits compiles and runs but the is a null IModel being passed into the [ImportingConstructor] for the FaqViewModel class. I have a common interface (simplified for posting) defined as follows, this should look familiar to those who have seen Shawn Wildermuth's RIAXboxGames sample. public interface IModel { void GetItemsAsync(); event EventHandler<EntityResultsArgs<faq>> GetFaqsComplete; } A base method that implements the interface public class ModelBase : IModel { public virtual void GetItemsAsync() { } public virtual event EventHandler<EntityResultsArgs<faq>> GetFaqsComplete; protected void PerformQuery<T>(EntityQuery<T> qry, EventHandler<EntityResultsArgs<T>> evt) where T : Entity { Context.Load(qry, r => { if (evt == null) return; try { if (r.HasError) { evt(this, new EntityResultsArgs<T>(r.Error)); } else if (r.Entities.Count() > 0) { evt(this, new EntityResultsArgs<T>(r.Entities)); } } catch (Exception ex) { evt(this, new EntityResultsArgs<T>(ex)); } }, null); } private DomainContext _domainContext; protected DomainContext Context { get { if (_domainContext == null) { _domainContext = new DomainContext(); _domainContext.PropertyChanged += DomainContext_PropertyChanged; } return _domainContext; } } void DomainContext_PropertyChanged(object sender, System.ComponentModel.PropertyChangedEventArgs e) { switch (e.PropertyName) { case "IsLoading": AppMessages.IsBusyMessage.Send(_domainContext.IsLoading); break; case "IsSubmitting": AppMessages.IsBusyMessage.Send(_domainContext.IsSubmitting); break; } } } A model that implements the base model [Export(ViewModelTypes.FaqViewModel, typeof(IModel))] public class FaqModel : ModelBase { public override void GetItemsAsync() { PerformQuery(Context.GetFaqsQuery(), GetFaqsComplete); } public override event EventHandler<EntityResultsArgs<faq>> GetFaqsComplete; } A view model [PartCreationPolicy(CreationPolicy.NonShared)] [Export(ViewModelTypes.FaqViewModel)] public class FaqViewModel : MyViewModelBase { private readonly IModel _model; [ImportingConstructor] public FaqViewModel(IModel model) { _model = model; _model.GetFaqsComplete += Model_GetFaqsComplete; _model.GetItemsAsync(); // Load FAQS on creation } private IEnumerable<faq> _faqs; public IEnumerable<faq> Faqs { get { return _faqs; } private set { if (value == _faqs) return; _faqs = value; RaisePropertyChanged("Faqs"); } } private faq _currentFaq; public faq CurrentFaq { get { return _currentFaq; } set { if (value == _currentFaq) return; _currentFaq = value; RaisePropertyChanged("CurrentFaq"); } } public void GetFaqsAsync() { _model.GetItemsAsync(); } void Model_GetFaqsComplete(object sender, EntityResultsArgs<faq> e) { if (e.Error != null) { ErrorMessage = e.Error.Message; } else { Faqs = e.Results; } } } And then finally the Silverlight view itself public partial class FrequentlyAskedQuestions { public FrequentlyAskedQuestions() { InitializeComponent(); if (!ViewModelBase.IsInDesignModeStatic) { // Use MEF To load the View Model CompositionInitializer.SatisfyImports(this); } } [Import(ViewModelTypes.FaqViewModel)] public object ViewModel { set { DataContext = value; } } }

  • Enable button based on TextBox value (WPF)

    - by zendar
    This is MVVM application. There is a window and related view model class. There is TextBox, Button and ListBox on form. Button is bound to DelegateCommand that has CanExecute function. Idea is that user enters some data in text box, presses button and data is appended to list box. I would like to enable command (and button) when user enters correct data in TextBox. Things work like this now: CanExecute() method contains code that checks if data in property bound to text box is correct. Text box is bound to property in view model UpdateSourceTrigger is set to PropertyChanged and property in view model is updated after each key user presses. Problem is that CanExecute() does not fire when user enters data in text box. It doesn't fire even when text box lose focus. How could I make this work? Edit: Re Yanko's comment: Delegate command is implemented in MVVM toolkit template and when you create new MVVM project, there is Delegate command in solution. As much as I saw in Prism videos this should be the same class (or at least very similar). Here is XAML snippet: ... <UserControl.Resources> <views:CommandReference x:Key="AddObjectCommandReference" Command="{Binding AddObjectCommand}" /> </UserControl.Resources> ... <TextBox Text="{Binding ObjectName, UpdateSourceTrigger=PropertyChanged}"> </TextBox> <Button Command="{StaticResource AddObjectCommandReference}">Add</Button> ... View model: // Property bound to textbox public string ObjectName { get { return objectName; } set { objectName = value; OnPropertyChanged("ObjectName"); } } // Command bound to button public ICommand AddObjectCommand { get { if (addObjectCommand == null) { addObjectCommand = new DelegateCommand(AddObject, CanAddObject); } return addObjectCommand; } } private void AddObject() { if (ObjectName == null || ObjectName.Length == 0) return; objectNames.AddSourceFile(ObjectName); OnPropertyChanged("ObjectNames"); // refresh listbox } private bool CanAddObject() { return ObjectName != null && ObjectName.Length > 0; } As I wrote in the first part of question, following things work: property setter for ObjectName is triggered on every keypress in textbox if I put return true; in CanAddObject(), command is active (button to) It looks to me that binding is correct. Thing that I don't know is how to make CanExecute() fire in setter of ObjectName property from above code. Re Ben's and Abe's answers: CanExecuteChanged() is event handler and compiler complains: The event 'System.Windows.Input.ICommand.CanExecuteChanged' can only appear on the left hand side of += or -= there are only two more members of ICommand: Execute() and CanExecute() Do you have some example that shows how can I make command call CanExecute(). I found command manager helper class in DelegateCommand.cs and I'll look into it, maybe there is some mechanism that could help. Anyway, idea that in order to activate command based on user input, one needs to "nudge" command object in property setter code looks clumsy. It will introduce dependencies and one of big points of MVVM is reducing them. Is it possible to solve this problem by using dependency properties?

  • Scaling MKMapView Annotations relative to the zoom level

    - by Jonathan
    The Problem I'm trying to create a visual radius circle around a annonation, that remains at a fixed size in real terms. Eg. So If i set the radius to 100m, as you zoom out of the Map view the radius circle gets progressively smaller. I've been able to achieve the scaling, however the radius rect/circle seems to "Jitter" away from the Pin Placemark as the user manipulates the view. The Manifestation Here is a video of the behaviour. The Implementation The annotations are added to the Mapview in the usual fashion, and i've used the delegate method on my UIViewController Subclass (MapViewController) to see when the region changes. -(void)mapView:(MKMapView *)pMapView regionDidChangeAnimated:(BOOL)animated{ //Get the map view MKCoordinateRegion region; CGRect rect; //Scale the annotations for( id<MKAnnotation> annotation in [[self mapView] annotations] ){ if( [annotation isKindOfClass: [Location class]] && [annotation conformsToProtocol:@protocol(MKAnnotation)] ){ //Approximately 200 m radius region.span.latitudeDelta = 0.002f; region.span.longitudeDelta = 0.002f; region.center = [annotation coordinate]; rect = [[self mapView] convertRegion:foo toRectToView: self.mapView]; if( [[[self mapView] viewForAnnotation: annotation] respondsToSelector:@selector(setRadiusFrame:)] ){ [[[self mapView] viewForAnnotation: annotation] setRadiusFrame:rect]; } } } The Annotation object (LocationAnnotationView)is a subclass of the MKAnnotationView and it's setRadiusFrame looks like this -(void) setRadiusFrame:(CGRect) rect{ CGPoint centerPoint; //Invert centerPoint.x = (rect.size.width/2) * -1; centerPoint.y = 0 + 55 + ((rect.size.height/2) * -1); rect.origin = centerPoint; [self.radiusView setFrame:rect]; } And finally the radiusView object is a subclass of a UIView, that overrides the drawRect method to draw the translucent circles. setFrame is also over ridden in this UIView subclass, but it only serves to call [UIView setNeedsDisplay] in addition to [UIView setFrame:] to ensure that the view is redrawn after the frame has been updated. The radiusView object's (CircleView) drawRect method looks like this -(void) drawRect:(CGRect)rect{ //NSLog(@"[CircleView drawRect]"); [self setBackgroundColor:[UIColor clearColor]]; //Declarations CGContextRef context; CGMutablePathRef path; //Assignments context = UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext(); path = CGPathCreateMutable(); //Alter the rect so the circle isn't cliped //Calculate the biggest size circle if( rect.size.height > rect.size.width ){ rect.size.height = rect.size.width; } else if( rect.size.height < rect.size.width ){ rect.size.width = rect.size.height; } rect.size.height -= 4; rect.size.width -= 4; rect.origin.x += 2; rect.origin.y += 2; //Create paths CGPathAddEllipseInRect(path, NULL, rect ); //Create colors [[self areaColor] setFill]; CGContextAddPath( context, path); CGContextFillPath( context ); [[self borderColor] setStroke]; CGContextSetLineWidth( context, 2.0f ); CGContextSetLineCap(context, kCGLineCapSquare); CGContextAddPath(context, path ); CGContextStrokePath( context ); CGPathRelease( path ); //CGContextRestoreGState( context ); } Thanks for bearing with me, any help is appreciated. • How to Add, Edit and Display one to many relationship entities in ASP.Net MVC 2?

    - by Picflight
    I am looking for best practices conforming to the MVC design pattern. My Entities have the following relationship. tblPortal PortalId PrortalName tblPortalAlias AliasId PortalId HttpAlias Each Portal can have many PortalAlias. I want to Add a New Portal and then Add the associated PortalAlias. I am confused on how I should structure the Views and how I should present the Views to the user. I am looking for some sample code on how to accomplish this. My thoughts are first present the Portal View, let the user add the Portal. Then click the Edit link on the Portal List View and on the Portal Edit View let them Add the PortalAlias. If so, what should the Edit View look like? So far I have: Edit <%@ Page Title="" Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/Views/Shared/Site.Master" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage<MyProject.Mvc.Models.PortalFormViewModel>" %> <asp:Content ID="Content1" ContentPlaceHolderID="TitleContent" runat="server"> Edit </asp:Content> <asp:Content ID="Content2" ContentPlaceHolderID="MainContent" runat="server"> <h2>Edit</h2> <% Html.RenderPartial("PortalForm", Model); %> <div> <%= Html.ActionLink("Back to List", "Index") %> </div> </asp:Content> PortalForm <%@ Control Language="C#" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewUserControl<MyProject.Mvc.Models.PortalFormViewModel>" %> <%= Html.ValidationSummary("Please correct the errors and try again.") %> <% using (Html.BeginForm()) {%> <%= Html.ValidationSummary(true) %> <fieldset> <legend>Fields</legend> <div class="editor-label"> <%= Html.LabelFor(model => model.Portal.PortalId) %> </div> <div class="editor-field"> <%= Html.TextBoxFor(model => model.Portal.PortalId) %> <%= Html.ValidationMessageFor(model => model.Portal.PortalId) %> </div> <div class="editor-label"> <%= Html.LabelFor(model => model.Portal.PortalName) %> </div> <div class="editor-field"> <%= Html.TextBoxFor(model => model.Portal.PortalName) %> <%= Html.ValidationMessageFor(model => model.Portal.PortalName) %> </div> <p> <input type="submit" value="Save" /> </p> </fieldset> <% } %> Alias<br /><%-- This display is for debug --%> <% foreach (var item in Model.PortalAlias) { %> <%= item.HTTPAlias %><br /> <% } %> PortalFormViewModel public class PortalFormViewModel { public Portal Portal { get; private set; } public IEnumerable<PortalAlias> PortalAlias { get; private set; } public PortalFormViewModel() { Portal = new Portal(); } public PortalFormViewModel(Portal portal) { Portal = portal; PortalAlias = portal.PortalAlias; } }

  • Django manager for _set in model

    - by Daniel Johansson
    Hello, I'm in the progress of learning Django at the moment but I can't figure out how to solve this problem on my own. I'm reading the book Developers Library - Python Web Development With Django and in one chapter you build a simple CMS system with two models (Story and Category), some generic and custom views together with templates for the views. The book only contains code for listing stories, story details and search. I wanted to expand on that and build a page with nested lists for categories and stories. - Category1 -- Story1 -- Story2 - Category2 - Story3 etc. I managed to figure out how to add my own generic object_list view for the category listing. My problem is that the Story model have STATUS_CHOICES if the Story is public or not and a custom manager that'll only fetch the public Stories per default. I can't figure out how to tell my generic Category list view to also use a custom manager and only fetch the public Stories. Everything works except that small problem. I'm able to create a list for all categories with a sub list for all stories in that category on a single page, the only problem is that the list contains non public Stories. I don't know if I'm on the right track here. My urls.py contains a generic view that fetches all Category objects and in my template I'm using the *category.story_set.all* to get all Story objects for that category, wich I then loop over. I think it would be possible to add a if statement in the template and use the VIEWABLE_STATUS from my model file to check if it should be listed or not. The problem with that solution is that it's not very DRY compatible. Is it possible to add some kind of manager for the Category model too that only will fetch in public Story objects when using the story_set on a category? Or is this the wrong way to attack my problem? Related code urls.py (only category list view): urlpatterns += patterns('django.views.generic.list_detail', url(r'^categories/$', 'object_list', {'queryset': Category.objects.all(), 'template_object_name': 'category' }, name='cms-categories'), models.py: from markdown import markdown import datetime from django.db import models from django.db.models import permalink from django.contrib.auth.models import User VIEWABLE_STATUS = [3, 4] class ViewableManager(models.Manager): def get_query_set(self): default_queryset = super(ViewableManager, self).get_query_set() return default_queryset.filter(status__in=VIEWABLE_STATUS) class Category(models.Model): """A content category""" label = models.CharField(blank=True, max_length=50) slug = models.SlugField() class Meta: verbose_name_plural = "categories" def __unicode__(self): return self.label @permalink def get_absolute_url(self): return ('cms-category', (), {'slug': self.slug}) class Story(models.Model): """A hunk of content for our site, generally corresponding to a page""" STATUS_CHOICES = ( (1, "Needs Edit"), (2, "Needs Approval"), (3, "Published"), (4, "Archived"), ) title = models.CharField(max_length=100) slug = models.SlugField() category = models.ForeignKey(Category) markdown_content = models.TextField() html_content = models.TextField(editable=False) owner = models.ForeignKey(User) status = models.IntegerField(choices=STATUS_CHOICES, default=1) created = models.DateTimeField(default=datetime.datetime.now) modified = models.DateTimeField(default=datetime.datetime.now) class Meta: ordering = ['modified'] verbose_name_plural = "stories" def __unicode__(self): return self.title @permalink def get_absolute_url(self): return ("cms-story", (), {'slug': self.slug}) def save(self): self.html_content = markdown(self.markdown_content) self.modified = datetime.datetime.now() super(Story, self).save() admin_objects = models.Manager() objects = ViewableManager() category_list.html (related template): {% extends "cms/base.html" %} {% block content %} <h1>Categories</h1> {% if category_list %} <ul id="category-list"> {% for category in category_list %} <li><a href="{{ category.get_absolute_url }}">{{ category.label }}</a></li> {% if category.story_set %} <ul> {% for story in category.story_set.all %} <li><a href="{{ story.get_absolute_url }}">{{ story.title }}</a></li> {% endfor %} </ul> {% endif %} {% endfor %} </ul> {% else %} <p> Sorry, no categories at the moment. </p> {% endif %} {% endblock %}

  • How can I successfully dechiper Instruments Messages for iPhone Leak

    - by dubbeat
    Hi, I have a memory leak in my app. (This is the first of many I'm sure :() I've being trying to use Instruments to find it. Instruments gives me a lot of information but I think I must just not know how to use this information. What I did so far was 1) Run the app with Instruments 2) Memory Leak Occurs named general -stack 16 3) Find general - stack 16 in the object allocations part of instruments 4) The information here says the event type is a malloc, that webcore is responsible and the something named WKSetCurrentGraphicContext is the responsible caller. How can I use this given information to discover where in my code the leak is being caused? If I comment out the following function I don't get the leak warning so I guess it should be in there somewhere but I can't see where -(void)constructFeatured { NSString *imageName =[[NSString alloc] initWithFormat:@"%@%@%@",@"http://myweb/avatar_", featuredValueObject.featured_promo_artistid, @".jpg"]; NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:imageName]; CGRect frame; frame.size.width=100; frame.size.height=100; frame.origin.x=20; frame.origin.y=39; [imageName release]; imageName=nil; SDWebImageManager *manager = [SDWebImageManager sharedManager]; UIImage *cachedImage = [manager imageWithURL:url]; if (cachedImage) { cachedImage =[ImageManipulator makeRoundCornerImage:cachedImage : 10 : 10]; UIImageView *avatarimageview = [[UIImageView alloc]initWithImage:cachedImage ]; avatarimageview.frame=frame; [self.view addSubview:avatarimageview]; UIView *spinny = [self.view viewWithTag:SPINNY_TAG]; [spinny removeFromSuperview]; [avatarimageview release]; } else { [manager downloadWithURL:url delegate:self]; } NSURL *url2 =[NSURL URLWithString:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@%@%@",@"http://myweb/", featuredValueObject.featured_promo_artistcountry , @".png"]]; CGRect flagframe; flagframe.size.width=16; flagframe.size.height=11; flagframe.origin.x=130; flagframe.origin.y=40; NSData* data = [[NSData alloc] initWithContentsOfURL:url2]; UIImage* img = [[UIImage alloc] initWithData:data]; UIImageView *imageflagview = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage: img]; imageflagview.frame=flagframe; [self.view addSubview:imageflagview]; [imageflagview release]; imageflagview=nil; [data release]; [img release]; [url release]; artistname =[[UILabel alloc]initWithFrame:CGRectMake(130,75, 200, 15)]; [artistname setFont:[UIFont fontWithName:@"Arial" size:(16.0)]]; artistname.backgroundColor= [UIColor clearColor]; artistname.textColor=[UIColor whiteColor]; artistname.text=featuredValueObject.featured_promo_artistname; [self.view addSubview:artistname]; [artistname release]; hasConstructedFeatured=YES; [featuredValueObject release]; featuredValueObject=nil; }

  • UIButtons in UIScrollView stop it scrolling, how to fix?

    - by Mark McFarlane
    Hi all, I have a problem with adding a set of UIButtons to a UIScrollView. With the buttons added it seems that the scroll command is not being passed to the scroll view as the buttons cover the whole surface. I've read various posts on this but still can't figure it out. I'm pretty new to iPhone programming so there's probably something obvious I've missed. I've tried things like canCancelContentTouches and delaysContentTouches to TRUE and FALSE. Here is the code I use to add the buttons to the scrollview. The scrollview was created in IB and is passed in to the function: -(void)drawCharacters:(NSMutableArray *)chars:(UIScrollView *)target_view { //NSLog(@"CLEARING PREVIOUS BUTTONS"); //clear previous buttons for parts/kanji if(target_view == viewParts){ for (UIButton *btn in parts_buttons) { [btn removeFromSuperview]; } [parts_buttons removeAllObjects]; } else if(target_view == viewKanji){ for (UIButton *btn in kanji_buttons) { [btn removeFromSuperview]; } [kanji_buttons removeAllObjects]; } //display options int chars_per_line = 9; //change this to change the number of chars displayed on each line if(target_view == viewKanji){ chars_per_line = 8; } int char_gap = 0; //change this to change the margin between chars int char_dimensions = (320/chars_per_line)-(char_gap*2); //set starting x, y coords int x = 0, y = 0; //increment y coord y += char_gap; //NSLog(@"ABOUT TO DRAW FIRST BUTTON"); for(NSMutableArray *char_arr in chars){ //increment x coord x += char_gap; //draw at x and y UIButton *myButton = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeCustom]; myButton.frame = CGRectMake(x, y, char_dimensions, char_dimensions); // position in the parent view and set the size of the button [myButton setTitle:[char_arr objectAtIndex:0] forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [myButton setTitleColor:[UIColor darkGrayColor] forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [myButton setTitleColor:[UIColor colorWithRed:0.8 green:0.8 blue:0.8 alpha:1.0] forState:UIControlStateDisabled]; myButton.titleLabel.font = [UIFont boldSystemFontOfSize:22]; if(target_view == viewKanji){ myButton.titleLabel.font = [UIFont boldSystemFontOfSize:30]; } // add targets and actions if(target_view == viewParts){ [myButton addTarget:self action:@selector(partSelected:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside]; } else if(target_view == viewKanji){ [myButton addTarget:self action:@selector(kanjiSelected:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside]; [myButton setTag:(int)[char_arr objectAtIndex:1]]; } //if the part isnt in the current list of kanji, disable and dim it if(target_view == viewParts){ if([kanji count] > 0){ [myButton setEnabled:NO]; } bool do_break = NO; for(NSMutableArray *arr in kanji){ //NSLog([NSString stringWithFormat:@"CHECKING PARTS AGAINST %d KANJI", [kanji count]]); for(NSString *str in [[arr objectAtIndex:2] componentsSeparatedByString:@" "]){ if(([myButton.titleLabel.text isEqualToString:str])){ //NSLog(@"--------------MATCH!!!-----------------"); [myButton setEnabled:YES]; for(NSString *str1 in parts_selected){ if(([myButton.titleLabel.text isEqualToString:str1])){ [myButton setEnabled:NO]; break; } } do_break = YES; break; } if(do_break) break; } if(do_break) break; } } // add to a view [target_view addSubview:myButton]; //update coords of next button x += char_dimensions+ char_gap; if (x > (320-char_dimensions)) { x = 0; y += char_dimensions + (char_gap*2); } //add button to global array to be removed from view next update if(target_view == viewParts){ [parts_buttons addObject:myButton]; } else if(target_view == viewKanji){ [kanji_buttons addObject:myButton]; } } //NSLog(@"FINISHED DRAWING ALL BUTTONS"); } Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. I just need to fix this to finish my app.

  • "Invalid form control" only in Google Chrome

    The code below works well in Safari but in Chrome and Firefox the form will not submit. Chrome console logs the error An invalid form control with name='' is not focusable. Any ideas? • Call an member function implementing the {{#linkTo ...}} helper from javascript code

What I am trying to do is to reproduce the html inside Ember.View.render, but I would like to reuse as much Ember functionality as possible. Specifically, I would like to reuse the {{#linkTo ...}} helper, with two goals: Reuse existing html rendering implemented in the {{#linkTo ...}} helper Get the same routing support that using the {{#linkTo ...}} in a template provides. How can I call this helper from within javascript code? This is my first (incomplete) attempt. The template: {{view SettingsApp.NavigationView}} And the view: var trans = Ember.I18n.t; var MAIN_MENU = [ { 'linkTo' : 'nodes', 'i-class' : 'icon-cloud', 'txt' : trans('generic.nodes') }, { 'linkTo' : 'services', 'i-class' : 'icon-phone', 'txt' : trans('generic.services') }, ]; function getNavIcon (data) { var linkTo = data.linkTo, i_class = data['i-class'], txt = data.txt; var html = '<i class="icon-fixed-width icon-2x ' + i_class + '"></i>&nbsp;&nbsp;' + txt; return html; } SettingsApp.NavigationView = Ember.View.extend({ menu : MAIN_MENU, render: function(buffer) { for (var i=0, l=this.menu.length; i<l; i++) { var data = this.menu[i]; // TODO: call the ember function implementing the {{#linkTo ...}} helper buffer.push(getNavIcon(data)); } return buffer; } });

  • Adding interactions to admin pages generated by the admin generator

    - by Stick it to THE MAN
    I am using Symfony 1.2.9 (with Propel ORM) to create a website. I have started using the admin generator to implement the admin functionality. I have come accross a slight 'problem' however. My models are related (e.g. one table may have several 1:N relations and N:N relations). I have not found a way to address this satisfactorily yet. As a tactical solution (for list views), I have decided to simply show the parent object, and then add interactions to show the related objects. I'll use a Blog model to illustrate this. Here are the relationships for a blog model: N:M relationship with Blogroll (models a blog roll) 1:N relationship with Blogpost (models a post submitted to a blog) I had originally intended on displaying the (paged) blogpost list for a blog,, when it was selected, using AJAX, but I am struggling enough with the admin generator as it is, so I have shelved that idea - unless someone is kind enough to shed some light on how to do this. Instead, what I am now doing (as a tactical/interim soln), is I have added interactions to the list view which allow a user to: View a list of the blog roll for the blog on that row View a list of the posts for the blog on that row Add a post for the blog on tha row In all of the above, I have written actions that will basically forward the request to the approriate action (admin generated). However, I need to pass some parameters (like the blog id etc), so that the correct blog roll or blog post list etc is returned. I am sure there is a better way of doing what I want to do, but in case there isn't here are my questions: How may I obtain the object that relates to a specific row (of the clicked link) in the list view (e.g. the blog object in this example) Once I have the object, I may choose to extract various fields: id etc. How can I pass these arguments to the admin generated action ? Regarding the second question, my guess is that this may be the way to do it (I may be wrong) public function executeMyAddedBlogRollInteractionLink(sfWebRequest $request) { // get the object *somehow* (I'm guessing this may work) $object = $this->getRoute()->getObject(); // retrieve the required parameters from the object, and build a query string $query_str=$object->getId(); //forward the request to the generated code (action to display blogroll list in this case) $this->forward('backendmodulename',"getblogrolllistaction?params=$query_string"); } This feels like a bit of a hack, but I'm not sure how else to go about it. I'm also not to keen on sending params (which may include user_id etc via a GET, even a POST is not that much safer, since it is fairly sraightforward to see what requests a browser is making). if there is a better way than what I suggest above to implement this kind of administration that is required for objects with 1 or more M:N relationships, I will be very glad to hear the "recommended" way of going about it. I remember reading about marking certain actions as internal. i.e. callable from only within the app. I wonder if that would be useful in this instance?

  • Custom event loop and UIKit controls. What extra magic Apple's event loop does?

    - by tequilatango
    Does anyone know or have good links that explain what iPhone's event loop does under the hood? We are using a custom event loop in our OpenGL-based iPhone game framework. It calls our game rendering system, calls presentRenderbuffer and pumps events using CFRunLoopRunInMode. See the code below for details. It works well when we are not using UIKit controls (as a proof, try Facetap, our first released game). However, when using UIKit controls, everything almost works, but not quite. Specifically, scrolling of UIKit controls doesn't work properly. For example, let's consider following scenario. We show UIImagePickerController on top of our own view. UIImagePickerController covers our custom view We also pause our own rendering, but keep on using the custom event loop. As said, everything works, except scrolling. Picking photos works. Drilling down to photo albums works and transition animations are smooth. When trying to scroll photo album view, the view follows your finger. Problem: when scrolling, scrolling stops immediately after you lift your finger. Normally, it continues smoothly based on the speed of your movement, but not when we are using the custom event loop. It seems that iPhone's event loop is doing some magic related to UIKit scrolling that we haven't implemented ourselves. Now, we can get UIKit controls to work just fine and dandy together with our own system by using Apple's event loop and calling our own rendering via NSTimer callbacks. However, I'd still like to understand, what is possibly happening inside iPhone's event loop that is not implemented in our custom event loop. - (void)customEventLoop { OBJC_METHOD; float excess = 0.0f; while(isRunning) { animationInterval = 1.0f / openGLapp->ticks_per_second(); // Calculate the target time to be used in this run of loop float wait = max(0.0, animationInterval - excess); Systemtime target = Systemtime::now().after_seconds(wait); Scope("event loop"); NSAutoreleasePool* pool = [[ NSAutoreleasePool alloc] init]; // Call our own render system and present render buffer [self drawView]; // Pump system events [self handleSystemEvents:target]; [pool release]; excess = target.seconds_to_now(); } } - (void)drawView { OBJC_METHOD; // call our own custom rendering bool bind = openGLapp->app_render(); // bind the buffer to be THE renderbuffer and present its contents if (bind) { opengl::bind_renderbuffer(renderbuffer); [context presentRenderbuffer:GL_RENDERBUFFER_OES]; } } - (void) handleSystemEvents:(Systemtime)target { OBJC_METHOD; SInt32 reason = 0; double time_left = target.seconds_since_now(); if (time_left <= 0.0) { while((reason = CFRunLoopRunInMode(kCFRunLoopDefaultMode, 0, TRUE)) == kCFRunLoopRunHandledSource) {} } else { float dt = time_left; while((reason = CFRunLoopRunInMode(kCFRunLoopDefaultMode, dt, FALSE)) == kCFRunLoopRunHandledSource) { double time_left = target.seconds_since_now(); if (time_left <= 0.0) break; dt = (float) time_left; } } }

  • How to structure a Kohana MVC application with dynamically added fields and provide validation and f

    - by Matt H
    I've got a bit of a problem. I have a Kohana application that has dynamically added fields. The fields that are added are called DISA numbers. In the model I look these up and the result is returned as an array. I encode the array into a JSON string and use JQuery to populate them The View knows the length of the array and so creates as many DISA elements as required before display. See the code below for a summary of how that works. What I'm finding is that this is starting to get difficult to manage. The code is becoming messy. Error handling of this type of dynamic content is ending up being spread all over the place. Not only that, it doesn't work how I want. What you see here is just a small snippet of code. For error handling I am using the validation library. I started by using add_rules on all the fields that come back in the post. As they are always phone numbers I set a required rule (when it's there) and a digit rule on the validation-as_array() keys. That works. The difficulty is actually giving it back to the view. i.e. dynamically added javascript field. Submits back to form. Save contents into a session. View has to load up fields from database + those from the previous post and signal the fields that have problems. It's all quite messy and I'm getting this code spread through both the view the controller and the model. So my question is. Have you done this before in Kohana and how have you handled it? There must be an easier way right? Code snippet. -- edit.php -- public function phone($id){ ... $this->template->content->disa_numbers = $phones->fetch_disa_numbers($this->account, $id); ... } -- phones.php -- public function fetch_disa_numbers($account, $id) { $query = $this->db->query("SELECT id, cid_in FROM disa WHERE owner_ext=?", array($id)); if (!$query){ return ''; } return $query; } -- edit_phones.php --- <script type="text/javascript"> var disaId = 1; function delDisaNumber(element){ /* Put 'X_' on the front of the element name to mark this for deletion */ $(element).prev().attr('name', 'X_'+$(element).prev().attr('name')); $(element).parent().hide(); } function addDisaNumber(){ /* input name is prepended with 'N_' which means new */ $("#disa_numbers").append("<li><input name='N_disa"+disaId+"' id='disa'"+ "type='text'/><a class='hide' onClick='delDisaNumber(this)'></a></li>"); disaId++; } </script> ... <php echo form::open("edit/saveDisaNumbers/".$phone, array("class"=>"section", "id"=>"disa_form")); echo form::open_fieldset(array("class"=>"balanced-grid")); ?> <ul class="fields" id="disa_numbers"> <?php $disaId = 1; foreach ( $disa_numbers as $disa_number ){ echo '<li>'; echo form::input('disa'.$disaId, $disa_number->cid_in); echo'<a class="hide" onclick="delDisaNumber(this)"></a>'; echo "</li>"; $disaId++; } ?> </ul> <button type="button"onclick="addDisaNumber()"><a class="add"></a>Add number</button> <?php echo form::submit('submit', 'Save'); echo form::close(); ?>

  • Business rule validation of hierarchical list of objects ASP.NET MVC

    - by SergeanT
    I have a list of objects that are organized in a tree using a Depth property: public class Quota { [Range(0, int.MaxValue, ErrorMessage = "Please enter an amount above zero.")] public int Amount { get; set; } public int Depth { get; set; } [Required] [RegularExpression("^[a-zA-Z]+$")] public string Origin { get; set; } // ... another properties with validation attributes } For data example (amount - origin) 100 originA 200 originB 50 originC 150 originD the model data looks like: IList<Quota> model = new List<Quota>(); model.Add(new Quota{ Amount = 100, Depth = 0, Origin = "originA"); model.Add(new Quota{ Amount = 200, Depth = 0, Origin = "originB"); model.Add(new Quota{ Amount = 50, Depth = 1, Origin = "originC"); model.Add(new Quota{ Amount = 150, Depth = 1, Orinig = "originD"); Editing of the list Then I use Editing a variable length list, ASP.NET MVC 2-style to raise editing of the list. I want to appropriate inputs Html.TextBoxFor(m=>m.Amount) be highlighted red if the rule is broken for it. In example if user enters not 200, but 201 - it should be red on submit. Using sever validation only. Thanks a lot for any advise.

I works mostly, but in some situations the algorithm sees through walls and hilights walls the player should not be able to see. void cMap::los(int x0, int y0, int radius) { //Does line of sight from any particular tile for(int x = 0; x < m_Height; x++) { for(int y = 0; y < m_Width; y++) { getTile(x,y)->setVisible(false); } } double xdif = 0; double ydif = 0; bool visible = false; float dist = 0; for (int x = MAX(x0 - radius,0); x < MIN(x0 + radius, m_Height); x++) { //Loops through x values within view radius for (int y = MAX(y0 - radius,0); y < MIN(y0 + radius, m_Width); y++) { //Loops through y values within view radius xdif = pow( (double) x - x0, 2); ydif = pow( (double) y - y0, 2); dist = (float) sqrt(xdif + ydif); //Gets the distance between the two points if (dist <= radius) { //If the tile is within view distance, visible = line(x0, y0, x, y); //check if it can be seen. if (visible) { //If it can be seen, getTile(x,y)->setVisible(true); //Mark that tile as viewable } } } } } bool cMap::line(int x0,int y0,int x1,int y1) { bool steep = abs(y1-y0) > abs(x1-x0); if (steep) { swap(x0, y0); swap(x1, y1); } if (x0 > x1) { swap(x0,x1); swap(y0,y1); } int deltax = x1-x0; int deltay = abs(y1-y0); int error = deltax/2; int ystep; int y = y0; if (y0 < y1) ystep = 1; else ystep = -1; for (int x = x0; x < x1; x++) { if ( steep && getTile(y,x)->isBlocked()) { getTile(y,x)->setVisible(true); getTile(y,x)->setDiscovered(true); return false; } else if (!steep && getTile(x,y)->isBlocked()) { getTile(x,y)->setVisible(true); getTile(x,y)->setDiscovered(true); return false; } error -= deltay; if (error < 0) { y = y + ystep; error = error + deltax; } } return true; } If anyone could help me make the first blocked tiles visible but stops the rest, I would appreciate it. thanks, Manderin87
