    I need to create database for SQL Server, what kind of naming convention I sohuld use? 1) Table names could be : customer, Customer, CUSTOMER 2) Field names could be : customer_id, CustomerId, CustomerID, CUSTOMER_ID, customerid, CUSTOMERID and so on... Is there any official suggestion for naming conventions or what is msot common way to name tables and fields?

    I have staically added price range with hyperlinks $0 - $500 $500 - $1,000 $1,000 - $2,500 $2,500 - $5,000 $5,000 - $10,000 $10,000 - $15,000 $15,000 and up For exa mple when i click the link $1000-$2500 the url is http://localhost/magento/index.php/catalogsearch/advanced/result/?price[from]=1000&price[to]=2500&category=9 This is working fine. However when we run this query, it shows the biggest and not the second one. Why?     It seems like a no brainer to me. I've heard countless stories about people forgetting the WHERE clause in an UPDATE or DELETE and trashing an entire table. I know that careless people shouldn't be issuing queries directly and all that... and that there are legitimate cases where you want to affect all rows, but wouldn't it make sense to have an option on by default that requires such queries to be written like: UPDATE MyTable SET MyColumn = 0 WHERE * Or without changing the language, UPDATE MyTable SET MyColumn = 0 WHERE 1 = 1 -- tacky, I know

I'm currently exporting a database table with huge data (100000+ records) into an xml file using XmlTextWriter class and I'm writing directly to a file on the physical drive. _XmlTextWriterObject = new XmlTextWriter(_xmlFilePath, null); While my code runs ok, my question is that is it the best approach? Or should I write the whole xml in memory stream first and then write the xml document in physical file from memory stream? And what are the effects on memory/ performance in both cases?

  • How can I get a custom UITableView to automatically scroll to a selected text field?

    I have a UITableView, which I am controlling from a custom UIViewController. When the user clicks the 'add' button, I add a row to the UITableView with a text field in it, and make it the first responder. The problem is, when the bottom of the table is out of view (or hidden by the keyboard), the UITableView doesn't scroll to bring the text field into view. UITableViewController does this automatically, but my View Controller can't be a subclass of UITableViewController.
