  • Odd GROUP BY output DB2 - Results not as expected

    If I run the following query: select load_cyc_num , crnt_dnlq_age_cde , sum(cc_min_pymt_amt) as min_pymt , sum(ec_tot_bal) as budget , case when ec_tot_bal 0 then 'Y' else 'N' end as budget , case when ac_stat_cde in ('A0P','A1P','ARP','A3P') then 'Y' else 'N' end as arngmnt , sum(sn_close_bal) as st_bal from statements where (sn_close_bal 0 or ec_tot_bal 0) and load_cyc_num in (200911) group by load_cyc_num , crnt_dnlq_age_cde , case when ec_tot_bal 0 then 'Y' else 'N' end , case when ac_stat_cde in ('A0P','A1P','ARP','A3P') then 'Y' else 'N' end then I get the correct "BUDGET" grouping, but not the correct "ARRANGEMENT" grouping, only two rows have a "Y". If I change the order of the case statements in the GROUP BY, then I get the correct grouping (full Y-N breakdown for both columns). Am I missing something obvious?

    I'm getting the infamous invalid number Oracle error. Hibernate is issuing an INSERT with a lot of columns, I want to know just the name of the column giving the problem. Is it possible? I hate Oracle messages, in 15 years they haven't improved a bit (the reason why is beyond my imagination).   • PL/SQL - How to pull data from 3 tables based on latest created date

    Hello, I'm hoping someone can help me as I've been stuck on this problem for a few days now. Basically I'm trying to pull data from 3 tables in Oracle: 1) Orders Table 2) Vendor Table and 3) Master Data Table. Here's what the 3 tables look like: Table 1: BIZ_DOC2 (Orders table) OBJECTID (Unique key) UNIQUE_DOC_NAME (Document Name i.e. ORD-005) CREATED_AT (Date the order was created) Table 2: UDEF_VENDOR (Vendors Table): PARENT_OBJECT_ID (This matches up to the ObjectId in the Orders table) VENDOR_OBJECT_NAME (This is the name of the vendor i.e. Acme) Table 3: BIZ_UNIT (Master Data table) PARENT_OBJECT_ID (This matches up to the ObjectID in the Orders table) BIZ_UNIT_OBJECT_NAME (This is the name of the business unit i.e. widget A, widget B) Note: The Vendors Table and Master Data do not have a link between them except through the Orders table. I can join all of the data from the tables and it looks something like this: Before selecting latest order date: ORD-005 | Widget A | Acme | 3/14/10 ORD-005 | Widget B | Acme | 3/14/10 ORD-004 | Widget C | Acme | 3/10/10 Ideally I'd like to return the latest order for each vendor. However, each order may contain multiple business units (e.g. types of widgets) so if a Vendor's latest record is ORD-005 and the order contains 2 business units, here's what the result set should look like by the following columns: UNIQUE_DOC_NAME, BIZ_UNIT_OBJECT_NAME, VENDOR_OBJECT_NAME, CREATED_AT After selecting by latest order date: ORD-005 | Widget A | Acme | 3/14/10 ORD-005 | Widget B | Acme | 3/14/10 I tried using Select Max and several variations of sub-queries but I just can't seem to get it working. Any help would be hugely appreciated!

    I have a table, a trigger on the table implemented using service broker. More than Half million records are inserted daily into the table. The asynchronous SP is used to check sveral condition by using inserted data and update other tables. It was running fine for last 1 month and the SP was get executed withing 2-3 seconds of insertion of record. But now it take more than 90 minute. At present sys.conversation_endpoints have too much records. (Note that all the table are truncated daily as I do not need those records day after) Other database activities are normal (average 60% CPU Utilization). Now where i need to look?? I can re-create database without any problem but i don't think it is a good way to resolve the problem

    I have searched the net and searched the net only to not quite find the probably I am running into. I am currently having an issue getting a SqlDataAdapter to populate a DataSet. I am running Visual Studio 2008 and the query is being sent to a local instance of SqlServer 2008. If I run the query itself in SqlServer, I do get information. Is there a way to also implicitly know which tuples have been used which satisfy the condition for sum ? I know you can separately write another query to just return the primary key ids which satisfy the condition. But, Is there any other way to do that in the same query ? probably rewrite the query in some way ? or... any suggestion ?

    Given two related tables (reports, report_fields) where there can be many report_fields entries for each reports entry, I need to allow the user to enter new report_fields, delete existing report_fields, and re-arrange the order. Currently I am using a DetailsView to handle the editing of the reports. I added some logic to handle report_fields, and currently it allows you to succesfully re-arrange the order, but i'm a little stumped as to the best way to add new items, or delete existing items. The basic logic I have is that each report_fields is represented by a . It has a description as the text, and a field for each field in the report_fields table. I use JQuery Sortable to allow the user to re-arrange the LIs. Ex: People older than 26 Name Properties Jane Smart, Funny, Good-looking Joe Smart, Workaholic It's also acceptable to return one of the properties and total property count. The query should be efficient: there are millions of rows in people table, hundreds of thousands of rows in properties table (so most people have no properties). There are hundreds of rows selected at a time. Is there any way to do it?

The relation between attachments and categories I made by myself using the WordPress default method.     hey guys assuming i have a table named t1 with following fields: ROWID, CID, PID, Score, SortKey it has the following data: 1, C1, P1, 10, 1 2, C1, P2, 20, 2 3, C1, P3, 30, 3 4, C2, P4, 20, 3 5, C2, P5, 30, 2 6, C3, P6, 10, 1 7, C3, P7, 20, 2 what query do i write so that it applies group by on CID, but instead of returning me 1 single result per group, it returns me a max of 2 results per group. also where condition is score = 20 and i want the results ordered by CID and SortKey. If I had to run my query on above data, i would expect the following result: RESULTS FOR C1 - note: ROWID 1 is not considered as its score < 20 C1, P2, 20, 2 C1, P3, 30, 3 RESULTS FOR C2 - note: ROWID 5 appears before ROWID 4 as ROWID 5 has lesser value SortKey C2, P5, 30, 2 C2, P4, 20, 3 RESULTS FOR C3 - note: ROWID 6 does not appear as its score is less than 20 so only 1 record returned here C3, P7, 20, 2 IN SHORT, I WANT A LIMIT WITHIN A GROUP BY. I want the simplest solution and want to avoid temp tables. sub queries are fine. also note i am using sqlite for this

    I have a DataGridView that shows list of records and when I hit a insert button, a form should add a new record, edit its values and save it. I have a BindingSource bound to a DataGridView. I pass is as a parameter to a NEW RECORD form so // When the form opens it add a new row and de DataGridView display this new record at this time DataRowView currentRow; currentRow = (DataRowView) myBindindSource.AddNew(); when user confirm to save it I do a myBindindSource.EndEdit(); // inside the form and after the form is disposed the new row is saved and the bindingsorce position is updated to the new row DataRowView drv = myForm.CurrentRow; avaliadoTableAdapter.Update(drv.Row); avaliadoBindingSource.Position = avaliadoBindingSource.Find("ID", drv.Row.ItemArray[0]); The problem is that this table has a AUTOINCREMENT field and the value saved may not correspond the the value the bindingSource gives in EDIT TIME. So, when I close and open the DataGridView again the new rowd give its ID based on the available slot in the undelying DB at the momment is was saved and it just ignores the value the BindingSource generated ad EDIT TIME, Since the value given by the binding source should be used by another table as a foreingKey it make the reference insconsistent. There's a way to get the real ID was saved to the database?

I only want see if there only in CMHT or medic not both. Would the right direction be using sub query to filer it out?
