  • Need to create automatic timed changing content.

    - by Spencer
I need to create a section of our website where there is a main box of content with 3/4 smaller boxes (previews) underneath. Please take a look at http://espn.com for an example. They have a main top box for content and then it shuffles between the content previews below. What is the best way to do this? We are using .NET framework. Thanks in advance

  • Escaping HTML strings with jQuery

    - by Page Brooks
Does anyone know of an easy way to escape HTML from strings in jQuery? I need to be able to pass an arbitrary string and have it properly escaped for display in an HTML page (preventing JavaScript/HTML injection attacks). I'm sure it's possible to extend jQuery to do this, but I don't know enough about the framework at the moment to accomplish this.

  • .net 3.5 message framing

    - by Rob
We have message framing working by using a lengh prefix but using .NET 2.0 beginSend/BeginReceive. Is message framing any different in 3.5, if so how should we implement it using the new framework? Are there any useable examples out there which focus purely on message framing using 3.5? Many thanks

    - by Dremation
I wrote an application that monitors live streams from various sites. The application has done well but theres a feature that is highly requested. And that's the ability to record the stream. I'm current using the Adobe Flash ActiveX control to stream the videos from the various sites. IS there a way to record the stream? Whether it be with Flash ActiveX or another framework/control that you may know of.

  • Difference between a Deprecated and Legacy API?

    - by Vaibhav Bajpai
I was studying the legacy API's in the Java's Collection Framework and I learnt that classes such as Vector and HashTable have been superseded by ArrayList and HashMap. However still they are NOT deprecated, and deemed as legacy when essentially, deprecation is applied to software features that are superseded and should be avoided, so, I am not sure when is a API deemed legacy and when it is deprecated.

  • selenium scripts

    - by user121196
I want to use selenium scripts to click on a bunch of links on my webpage one by one, each click results in a page refresh. However selenium doesn't support css pseudo class like :visited, so I can't distinguish the ones that are already clicked from the ones that I want to click on next. Is there a way to solve my problem?

  • Do compiled PHP scripts exist?

    - by dabito
Hi, I am wondering if anyone has used or read about PHP scripts compiled as a .so extension for Apache... Thing is I think I remember reading about it somewhere but dont know if such a thing exists. This looks promising, but incomplete and abandoned: http://phpcompiler.org/ Im interested because i think it could improve performance... Perhaps someone could point out a framework or apache extension that does this. Thanks!!

  • NHibernate (or other worth recommendation ORM), real life example?

    - by migajek
I'd like to learn database applications in C# and I'm about to select some framework. I heard many recommendations of NHibernate, however I haven't decided yet. Anyway, I'd like to know if there's any real-life example (with sources) of NHibernate in C#, to learn best practices etc.? I know all of them are probably covered in the docs, but working example helps a lot understanding the proper development pattern.

  • Is Ruby on Rails suitable for a non-web application?

    - by Bruce
I am interested in developing a workstation-based application that communicates with a proprietary data server and that presents information from that server to the user. I am not intending the user interface to be browser-based, and have been considering Qt as my framework. Should I consider RoR for this? Thanks.
