  What are the advantages and disadvantages of storing an image as a blob in the database vs storing just the file name in the database. I'm using PHP(CodeIgniter) with MySQL. I know this question is subjective but a client asked me this question and I couldn't give a good answer.

  Hi i tried to implement a servlet with servlet (in tomcat 6) which act as as a proxy (for browser), it takes the parsed url, use apache httpclient to get the result & push it back to the client (browser), with http it works well, doesnt work with https , seems the problem concerns unsupported CONNECT method in servlet-api & servlet even doesn't see the request is there any solution/workaround for this? thanx in advanced

  Hi everybody, i'm developing a webapp for iphone/ipod and using the client's side database. I want my webapp to work mainly offline and allow users to fill the database and at a certain point i'd like to send my database to a server to process and store all the informations. The problem is i can't find a proper way to send my tables to a server in order to fill its database with the one sent from the iphone. Does anyone has a clue ?

  hi all, in the case of an IM client. i have made 2 separate threads to handle sending packets (by std io) and receiving packets. the question is how to make these 2 threads run simultaneously so that i can keep prompting for input while at the same time be ready to receive packets at any time? i have already tried setting a timer but the data is always lost receiving.

  I am trying to access an Exchange 2003 server using WebDAV, but I get a (440) Login Timeout error whenever I try to connect to the Exchange web client (https://server/exchange/mailbox/inbox) Any ideas on what would cause this? If I browse to the URL, I can login manually but I am unable to get past the 440 error when accessing the page programatically.

We load this SWF at the beginning with the Loader class but then the client will access a very few of them at that moment.   Currently I have the homepage of a t-shirt site list a 4 column grid, each cell containing all the shirts on the website (using views).
