• Using unicodedata.normalize in Python 2.7

  Once again, I am very confused with a unicode question. I can't figure out how to successfully use unicodedata.normalize to convert non-ASCII characters as expected. For instance, I want to convert the string u"Cœur" To u"Coeur" I am pretty sure that unicodedata.normalize is the way to do this, but I can't get it to work. It just leaves the string unchanged. >>> s = u"Cœur" >>> unicodedata.normalize('NFKD', s) == s True What am I doing wrong?

• Eclipse keyword highlighting in in my own text editor

  I made a simple text editor in eclipse to which I added some simple WordRule based syntax highlighting to highlight the language keywords. The problem is that when a keyword is part of an identifier (eg. "import" is part of "extra_import"), then "import" is highlighted in "extra_import". How can I stop eclipse to highlight a a keyword if it is only a sub string of another string? Anlther question; is there a regular expression based IRule? What is the purpose of WhitespaceRule? White spaces are usually not highlighted. Thaks

  Hi all, I'm using the function preg_replace but I cannot figure out how to make it work, the function just doesn't seem to work for me. What I'm trying to do is to convert a string into a link if any word contains the % (percentage) character. For instance if I have the string "go to %mysite", I'd like to convert the mysite word into a link. I tried the following... $data = "go to %mysite"; $result = preg_replace('/(^|[\s\.\,\:\;]+)%([A-Za-z0-9]{1,64})/e', '\\1%<a href=#>\\2</a>', $data); ...but it doesn't work.   I have a Login Activity which stores credentials in its own SharedPreferences; then I added two getters for reading them, something like public String getUsername() { return getPreferences(MODE_PRIVATE).getString("#username", null); } but this throws a NPE when I call it like this String mUser = (new Login()).getUsername(); It seems that the Activity cannot read its preferences after a simple contructor call, as if it were in some uncompleted state.   hey everybody, I have a jsp page which contains the code which prints all files in a given directory and their file paths. For example, the code spits out the following path: /usr/local/tomcat/sites/web_tech/images/scores/blah.jpg and I want it to only print the path up to /images ie /images/scores/blah.jpg I know I could just mess around with an actual string, ie splitting it or string matching, but is there an easier way to do it? • Odd 'UNION' behavior in an Oracle SQL query

  Here's my query: SELECT my_view.* FROM my_view WHERE my_view.trial in (select 2 as trial_id from dual union select 3 from dual union select 4 from dual) and my_view.location like ('123-%') When I execute this query it returns results which do not conform to the my_view.location like ('123-%') condition. It's as if that condition is being ignored completely. I can even change it to my_view.location IS NULL and it returns the same results, despite that field being not-nullable. I know this query seems ridiculous with the selects from dual, but I've structured it this way to replicate a problem I have when I use a 'WITH' clause (the results of that query are where the selects from dual inline view are). I can modify the query like so and it returns the expected results: SELECT my_view.* FROM my_view WHERE my_view.trial in (2, 3, 4) and my_view.location like ('123-%') Unfortunately I do not know the trial values up front (they are queried for in a 'WITH' clause) so I cannot structure my query this way. What am I doing wrong? I will say that the my_view view is composed of 3 other views whose results are UNION ALL and each of which retrieve some data over a DB Link. Not that I believe that should matter, but in case it does.

I have only used Qt once before, and that was with Qt Designer, and I am not having much luck finding anything on Google about how to just use the XML library. I have downloaded a web page that has one large list, and I want to parse it and add each list item to a c++ list.   The following code works: String str= "test with foo hoo"; Pattern pattern = Pattern.compile("foo"); Matcher matcher = pattern.matcher(str); if(matcher.find()) { ... } But this example does not: if(Pattern.matches("foo", str)) { ... } And neither this version: if(str.matches("foo")) { ... } In the real code, str is a chunk of text with multiple lines if that is treated differently by the matcher, also in the real code, replace will be used to replace a string of text. Anyway, it is strange that it works in the first version but not the other two versions.

  Hello guys, i have a table with a column that contains Boolean type. now when i try to run a program i have a problem: System.out.println(table.getColumnClass(5)); b= (Boolean)table.getValueAt(row, 5); It prints class java.lang.Boolean but also: Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-0" java.lang.ClassCastException: java.lang.String cannot be cast to java.lang.Boolean and i even try with b= (Boolean)table.getValueAt(row, 5); b= Boolean.parseBoolean((String)table.getValueAt(row, 5)); b= table.getValueAt(row, 5); but those show error too. So how to fix this guys?

• Php writing to file - empty ?

  Hey, I've been struggling with writing a single string into a file. I'm using just a simple code under Slackware 13: $fp = fopen('/my/absolute/path/data.txt', 'w'); fwrite($fp, 'just a testing string...'); fclose($fp); The file gets created (if it's not already created) but it's empty ?! The directory in which this file is written is owned by apache's user & group (daemon.daemon) and has 0777 permissions. This has never happened to me before. I'm curious what's the reason I'm not able to write inside the file ? Thanks in advance.

• JavaFX - question regarding binding button's disabled state

  I'm trying to create a dummy application that maintains a list of tasks. For now, all I'm trying to do is add to the list. I enter a task name in a text box, click on the add task button, and expect the list to be updated with the new item and the task name input to be cleared. I only want to be able to add tasks if the task name is not empty. The below code is my implementation, but I have a question regarding the binding. I'm binding the textbox's text variable to a string in my view model, and the button's disable variable to a boolean in my view model. I have a trigger to update the disabled state when the task name changes. When the binding of the task name happens the boolean is updated accordingly, but the button still appears disabled. But then when I mouse over the button, it becomes enabled. I believe this is due to JavaFX 1.3's binding being lazy - only updates the bound variable when it is read. Also, when I've added the task, I clear the task name in the model, but the textbox's text doesn't change - even though I'm using bind with inverse. Is there a way to make the textbox's text and the button's disabled state update automatically via the binding as I was expecting?
