• Swapping data binding in code

  I have two data-bound text boxes. One is bound to a string and the other to a number. The 'default' binding is set in XAML. Under some circumstances I need to reverse the bindings at runtime (the string is usually a prefix but sometimes it's a suffix). I have the following code in my view model, called when the window is loaded: Binding stringBinding = BindingOperations.GetBinding(view.seqLeft, TextBox.TextProperty); Binding numberBinding = BindingOperations.GetBinding(view.seqRight, TextBox.TextProperty); view.seqLeft.SetBinding(TextBlock.TextProperty, numberBinding); view.seqRight.SetBinding(TextBlock.TextProperty, stringBinding); After that the code loads the properties to which the binding refers. The problem is that the 'new' binding doesn't seem to work. What have I missed? Is there a better way?

• Attributed strings in UITableViewCells without WebView?

  Hello, does anyone know if there's a way in with 3.0+ to display attributed strings within a UITableViewCell without using a UIWebView for that? I need to display a string with linked, tappable substrings as the typical detailTextLabel. I wouldn't mind exchanging this UILabel against another type of view, but I think a UIWebView could be just too slow when rendering a table with hundrets of cells. Or does someone have opposite experiences here? So my question is: what's the best way to achieve mixed strings in a very large table without a great performance hit? I searched for this almost a whole day now, but I can only find old posts mentioning that there's no attributed string on the iPhone (outdated, as this was pre-3.0) and/or saying that they use a UIWebView for that. But really, I don't think this would perform very well on large tables, would it? Many, many thanks in advance Arne

  I'm using interfaces in this case mostly as a handle to an immutable instance of an object. The problem is that nested interfaces in C# are not allowed. Why? And how to make it work such that when the Logger class is deleted, the StreamWriter is closed before deletion? Thanks!

• Using Jquery $getJSON How do I dynamically create data for the [data] parameter after Url param?

  I have no problems getting the Json to work and parse the json return. I was just wondering how I could build a dynamic "whatever data is" and stick it into [data] to pass my parameters from there and not manually append them to the url. From jquery website example: $.getJSON("test.js", { name: "John", time: "2pm" }, function(json){ alert("JSON Data: " + json.users[3].name); }); I thought I could build a string ( which doesn't make sense anyway ) and drop it inside the { }, but I obviously don't understand that part. name: isn't a string and you can't put a variable in that part, so how would I dynamically put items into whatever [data] is.

• Best way to model map values in Grails?

  Hi guys, I have to implement map values in my Grails app. I have a class that can contain 0..N OsmTags, and the key is unique. In Java I would model this with a Map in each object, but I don't know how to map classes in Grails. So I defined this class: class OsmTag { /** OSM tag name, e.g. natural */ String key /** OSM tag value, e.g. park */ String value static constraints = { key blank:false, size:2..80,matches:/[\S]+/, unique:false value blank:false, size:1..250,matches:/[\S]+/, unique:false } } That works ok, but it's actually quite ugly because the tag key is not unique. • I have a question about URI templates in WCF Services

  I have a web service with following operation contract and my service is hosted at http://localhost:9002/Service.svc/ [OperationContract] [WebGet(UriTemplate = "/Files/{Filepath}")] Stream DownloadFile(string Filepath); This web service would let users download file, if the proper filepath is provided (assuming, I somehow find out that proper filepath). Now, I can access this service from a browser by typing, http://localhost:9002/Service.svc/Files/(Filepath} If {filepath} is some simple string, its not a problem, but I want to send the location of the file. Lets us say users want to download file C:\Test.mp3 on the server. But how can I pass C:\Test.mp3 as {Filepath}? I get an error when I type http://localhost:9002/Service.svc/Files/C:\Test.mp3 in the browser. I am new to web services and find that this community is the quickest way to get answers to my questions.

• Can Symfony simply reload a page request?

  I have an app that receives a request from another app. It detects a value on the query string, checks that value against a cached value and, if they don't match, it needs to clear its cache and reload the page (establishing a new cache). Unfortunately, I can't find a way to tell Symfony to redirect to the current page in exactly the same format (protocol, URI path, query string, etc.). What am I missing? This is all happening in a filter on isFirstCall(). Thanks.

  I have to handle this scenario in Java: I'm getting a request in XML form from a client with declared encoding=utf-8. Unfortunately it may contain not utf-8 characters and there is a requirement to remove these characters from the xml on my side (legacy). Let's consider an example where this invalid XML contains £ (pound). 1) I get xml as java String with £ in it (I don't have access to interface right now, but I probably get xml as a java String). Can I use replaceAll(£, "") to get rid of this character? Any potential issues? 2) I get xml as an array of bytes - how to handle this operation safely in that case?

However, when I used this, it generated the error mentioned. In the database, the loc.CreatedBy is not null while the loc.UpdatedBy is nullable. I checked it by running the script but it's working fine. How do I do with it? What's wrong with my code? Please help.

  Hello, I've recently set up an ASP.net site (not using MVC.net) to use URL Routing (more on the code below) - when using user controls on the site (i.e I've created a "menu" user control to hold menu information) the page_load event for that control will fire twice when URLs have more than one variable passed over. i.e. pageName/VAR1 : will only fire the page_load event once. while pageName/VAR1/VAR2 : will fire the page_load event twice. *Multiple extra VARs added on the end will still only fire the page_load event twice*.   Is there a way to have some sort of rich text in a file, and load the file into an NSAttributedString? (Cocoa error 258.)" Is there a way to do this?

• Custom http service responds fine to local IP address but NOT to localhost or 127.0.0.1

  I'm trying to connect to a custom http service written by another developer. The service responds fine on a local IP address and port number. Such as: http://10.1.1.1:1234 but it does NOT respond to http://localhost:1234 or http://127.0.0.1:1234 The service is a simple single function application written in VC++ that takes an http post string and returns another string. I'm trying to all it from C# using HttpWebRequest.GetResponse, but I can reproduce the same problem manually from a web browser... Test environment is Windows 2008 Server. Bottom line I'm looking for some troubleshooting tips to help the other developer fix his code.

• Best way to run remote VBScript in ASP.net? WMI or PsExec?

  I am doing some research to find out the best and most efficient method for this. I will need to execute remote scripts on a number of Window Servers/Computers (while we are building them). I have a web application that is going to automate this task, I currently have my prototype working to use PsExec to execute remote scripts. This requires PsExec to be installed on the system. A colleague suggested I should use WMI for this. I did some research in WMI and I couldn't find what I'm looking for. I want to either upload the script to the server and execute it and read the results, or already have the script on the server and execute it and read the results. I would prefer the first option though! Which is more ideal, PsExec or WMI? For reference, this is my prototype PsExec code.   Hi, just a simple question here. I've used Moq for awhile but, as of yet, have only used it for stubbing and not for mocking. I am trying to introduce our developers to unit testing. I set up a simple example to explain the concepts but i can't seem to get it working. Probably something simple so i thought i would just ask you all to see what i'm doing wrong: <Test()> _ Public Sub Divide_DivideByZero_LogsError() Dim mock = New Mock(Of ILogger) With mock Dim calc = New MyCalculator(New CalculatorData, .Object) calc.Divide(55, 0) mock.Object.WriteError("test", "Test") .Verify(Function(x) CType(x,ILogger).WriteError(it.IsAny(of String),It.IsAny(Of String)))) End With End Sub I'm using Moq version 3.2.416.3. I get an error on the .verify telling me that i'm calling it with incorrect arguments. I'm just trying to verify that .WriteError was called. any help would be appreciated.
