  • List.AddRange inline declaration

    - by AJ
    Hello, This may seem an easy question, but not to me, also a search has led to nothing. Up until now the only .net programming I have done is with Delphi Prism. With Prism I can do things like: var l := new List<String>(['A','B','C']); or var l := new List<String>; l.AddRange(['A','B','C']; but can I do a similar thing in C#, or do I have to do it like: var a = new String[] {"A","B","C"}; var l = new List<String>(a); Thanks, AJ

  • query on custom field via webservice

    - by Roberto Parrotto
    I customized the content of Defect in my Rally workspace adding a new custom field. This custom field is of type string, its name is CustomTest and its display name is CustomAttribute. I added the value "test" on a defect, but I can't create a working query on that custom field (I'm developing in Java and using the ws api for rally). the query I tried are String query8 = "(CustomAttribute = \"test\")"; String query9 = "(CustomAttribute = \"test\")";

  • How do I serve a large file using Pylons?

    - by Chris R
    I am writing a Pylons-based download gateway. The gateway's client will address files by ID: /file_gw/download/1 Internally, the file itself is accessed via HTTP from an internal file server: http://internal-srv/path/to/file_1.content The files may be quite large, so I want to stream the content. I store metadata about the file in a StoredFile model object: class StoredFile(Base): id = Column(Integer, primary_key=True) name = Column(String) size = Column(Integer) content_type = Column(String) url = Column(String) Given this, what's the best (ie: most architecturally-sound, performant, et al) way to write my file_gw controller?

  • How can I pass a type as a parameter in scala?

    - by rsan
    I'm having a really hard time trying to figure out how can I store or pass a type in scala. What I want to achive is something like this: abstract class Foo( val theType : type ) object Foo{ case object Foo1 extends Foo(String) case object Foo2 extends Foo(Long) } So at some point I can do this: theFoo match{ case String => "Is a string" case Long => "Is a long" } and when obtaining the object being able to cast it: theFoo.asInstanceOf[Foo1.theType] Is this possible? If is possible, is a good aproach? What I'm trying to achieve ultimately is writing a pseudo schema for byte stream treatment. E.g if I have an schema Array(Foo1,Foo1,Foo2,Foo3,Foo1) I could parse Arrays of bytes that complain with that schema, if at some point I have a different stream of bytes I could just write a new schema Array(Foo3, Foo4, Foo5) without having to reimplement parsing logic. • Resharper intellisense confusion

    - by Mystere Man
    Today I had something weird happen in my copy of Resharper 5. I have a class that looks like this: public class Foo { public string Username { get; private set; } public Foo (string userName) { Username = userName; } public void Bar() { DoWork(Username); } public DoWork(string userName) { } } When I start to type DoWork(us I get the following from intellisense: Notice that it's pulling up the constructor argument, and it ends with a colon: userName: What's going on here?

  • What is a better, cleaner way of using List<T>

    - by Tim Meers
    I'm looking to implement a few nicer ways to use List in a couple of apps I'm working on. My current implementation looks like this. MyPage.aspx.cs protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { BLL.PostCollection oPost = new BLL.PostCollection(); oPost.OpenRecent(); rptPosts.DataSource = oArt; rptPosts.DataBind(); } BLL Class(s) public class Post { public int PostId { get; set; } public string PostTitle { get; set; } public string PostContent { get; set; } public string PostCreatedDate { get; set; } public void OpenRecentInitFromRow(DataRow row) { this.PostId = (int) row["id"]; this.PostTitle = (string) row["title"]; this.PostContent = (string) row["content"]; this.PostCreatedDate = (DateTime) row["createddate"]; } } public class PostCollection : List<Post> { public void OpenRecent() { DataSet ds = DbProvider.Instance().Post_ListRecent(); foreach (DataRow row in ds.Tables[0].Rows) { Post oPost = new Post(); oPost.OpenRecentInitFromRow(row); Add(oPost); } } } Now while this is working all well and good, I'm just wondering if there is any way to improve it, and just make it cleaner that having to use the two different classes do to something I think can happen in just one class or using an interface.

  • How to read loaded image into a blob?

    - by Gajus Kuizinas
    I am facing same-origin policy restrictions when loading remote images. However DOM 0 Image object can be used to load a remote resource (this is essentially the same as creating an <img /> tag). var fr = new FileReader(), img = new Image(); img.src = 'http://distilleryimage8.s3.amazonaws.com/6cf25568491a11e2af8422000a9e28e9_7.jpg'; img.onload = function () { // how to get this image as a Blob object? }; Is there a way to read this resource into a Blob/arraybuffer object? This is not a duplicate of How to convert an image object to a binary blob as the latter does not rise with same-origin issues.

  • How to return relationships in a custom un-typed dataservice provider

    - by monkey_p
    I have a custom .Net DataService and can't figure out how to return the data for relationships. The data base has 2 tables (Customer, Address). A Customer can have multiple addresses, but each address can only have on customer. I'm using Dictionary<string,object> as my data type. My question, for the following 2 urls how do i return the data. http://localhost/DataService/Customer(1)/Address http://localhost/DataService/Address(1)/Customer For the none relational queries I return a List<Dictionary<string,object>> So I imagined for the relation I should just populate the element with a either a Dictionary<string,object> for the single ones and a List<Dictionary<string,object>> for many relationships. But this just gives me a NullRefferenceException So what am I doing wrong?

  • Getting column info from db with C#

    - by lYriCAlsSH
    In PHP I am able to retrieve information from a db like so: <?php $sql = "SELECT * FROM users"; $result = mysql_query($sql); $data = array(); while($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result)) { $data[] = $row; } I am trying to acomplish the same thing in C#: OdbcCommand cmd = new OdbcCommand("SELECT * FROM users WHERE id = @id"); cmd.Parameters.Add("@id", id); OdbcDataReader reader = cmd.ExecuteReader(); Dictionary<string, string> data = new Dictionary<string, string>(); while (reader.Read()) { data.Add("id", reader.GetString(0)); data.Add("username", reader.GetString(1)); data.Add("firstName", reader.GetString(2)); } return data; Is it possible to reference the column in the table by name without going through all this trouble?

  • Confused by "let" in Clojure

    - by Tom Dalling
    I just started playing with Clojure, and I wrote a small script to help me understand some of the functions. It begins like this: (def *exprs-to-test* [ "(filter #(< % 3) '(1 2 3 4 3 2 1))" "(remove #(< % 3) '(1 2 3 4 3 2 1))" "(distinct '(1 2 3 4 3 2 1))" ]) Then it goes through *exprs-to-test*, evaluates them all, and prints the output like this: (doseq [exstr *exprs-to-test*] (do (println "===" (first (read-string exstr)) "=========================") (println "Code: " exstr) (println "Eval: " (eval (read-string exstr))) ) ) The above code is all working fine. However, (read-string exstr) is repeated so I tried to use let to eliminate the repetition like so: (doseq [exstr *exprs-to-test*] (let [ex (read-string exstr)] ( (do (println "===" (first ex) "=========================") (println "Code: " exstr) (println "Eval: " (eval ex)) ) )) ) But this works once for the first item in *exprs-to-test*, then crashes with a NullPointerException. Why is the addition of let causing the crash?

  • Setting pixel values in Nvidia NPP ImageCPU objects?

    - by solvingPuzzles
    In the Nvidia Performance Primitives (NPP) image processing examples in the CUDA SDK distribution, images are typically stored on the CPU as ImageCPU objects, and images are stored on the GPU as ImageNPP objects. boxFilterNPP.cpp is an example from the CUDA SDK that uses these ImageCPU and ImageNPP objects. When using a filter (convolution) function like nppiFilter, it makes sense to define a filter as an ImageCPU object. However, I see no clear way setting the values of an ImageCPU object. npp::ImageCPU_32f_C1 hostKernel(3,3); //allocate space for 3x3 convolution kernel //want to set hostKernel to [-1 0 1; -1 0 1; -1 0 1] hostKernel[0][0] = -1; //this doesn't compile hostKernel(0,0) = -1; //this doesn't compile hostKernel.at(0,0) = -1; //this doesn't compile How can I manually put values into an ImageCPU object? Notes: I didn't actually use nppiFilter in the code snippet; I'm just mentioning nppiFilter as a motivating example for writing values into an ImageCPU object. The boxFilterNPP.cpp example doesn't involve writing directly to an ImageCPU object, because nppiFilterBox is a special case of nppiFilter that uses a built-in gaussian smoothing filter (probably something like [1 1 1; 1 1 1; 1 1 1]).

  • Does Spring MVC form submit data bind children objects automagically?

    - by predhme
    I have a data model that is something like this: public class Report { // report owner private User user; ... typical getter setter ... } public class User { ... omitted for clarity } What happens is when a report is created, the current user is set to the report user object. When the report is edited, the spring controller handling the POST request is receiving a report where the user object is null. Here is what my controller looks like: @Controller @RequestMapping("/report") public class ReportController { @RequestMapping(value = "/edit/{id}", method = RequestMethod.GET) public String editReport(@PathVariable Long id, Model model) { Report r = backend.getReport(id); // fully loads object model.addAttribute("report", report); return "report/edit"; } @RequestMapping(value = "/edit/{id}", method = RequestMethod.POST) public String process(@ModelAttribute("report") Report r) { backend.save(r); return "redirect:/report/show" + r.getId(); } } I ran things throw the debugger and it looks like in the editReport method the model object is storing the fully loaded report object (I can see the user inside the report). On the form jsp I can do the following: ${report.user.username} and the correct result is rendered. However, when I look at the debugger in the process method, the passed in Report r has a null user. I don't need to do any special data binding to ensure that information is retained do I?

  • Rails: update_attribute vs update_attributes

    - by Sam
    Object.update_attribute(:only_one_field, "Some Value") Object.update_attributes(:field1 => "value", :field2 => "value2", :field3 => "value3") Both of these will update an object without having to explicitly tell AR to update. Rails API says: for update_attribute Updates a single attribute and saves the record without going through the normal validation procedure. This is especially useful for boolean flags on existing records. The regular update_attribute method in Base is replaced with this when the validations module is mixed in, which it is by default. for update_attributes Updates all the attributes from the passed-in Hash and saves the record. If the object is invalid, the saving will fail and false will be returned. So if I don't want to have the object validated I should use update_attribute. What if I have this update on a before_save, will it stackoverflow? My question is does update_attribute also bypass the before save or just the validation. Also, what is the correct syntax to pass a hash to update_attributes... check out my example at the top.
