  • Hibernate: How do I link a subclass to its superclass?

    - by Markus
    Hey there! I'm having a little problem setting up my webshop project. Thing is, I have a User() superclass and two subclasses, PrivateUser and BusinessUser. Now, I'm not quite sure how to get my head around storing this relationship via hibernate. For the purpose of this question, the User() class contains only one field: String address; the PrivateUser contains: String firstName; and the BusinessUser contains: String CompanyName; Each field has its getter and setter. As is right now, I would only store and be able to get firstName and companyName. When I fetch a user from my DB using Hibernate I would get a PrivateUser/BusinessUser with a null address. Bottom line is, could someone point me towards a useful tutorial or better yet show a similar example code? Thanks!

  • AudioQueueOfflineRender returning empty data

    - by hyn
    I'm having problems using AudioQueueOfflineRender to decode AAC data. When I examine the buffer after the call, it is always filled with empty data. I made sure the input buffer is valid and packet descriptions are provided. I searched and found that a few others have had the same problem: http://lists.apple.com/archives/Coreaudio-api/2008/Jul/msg00119.html Also, the inTimestamp argument doesn't make sense to me. Why should the renderer care where in the audio the beginning of the buffer corresponds to? The function throws an error if I pass in NULL, so I pass in the timestamp anyway.

  • MacBook Pro Late 2009 SATA Resets, Slowness (Is my motherboard dying on both machines?)

    - by A Student at a University
    My MacBook Pro runs slower the longer it's on. I am getting kernel warnings. Some, but not all, resets correlate with AC power connects and disconnects. I don't think the warnings do. (How do I tell?) What are these errors? What causes them? Can this damage the drive or corrupt data? What is it seeing that motivates these? 02:37:16[ 0.791992] ahci 0000:00:0b.0: PCI INT A -> Link[LSI0] -> GSI 20 (level, low) -> IRQ 20 02:37:16[ 0.792047] ahci 0000:00:0b.0: irq 43 for MSI/MSI-X 02:37:16[ 0.792053] ahci 0000:00:0b.0: controller can't do PMP, turning off CAP_PMP 02:37:16[ 0.792104] ahci 0000:00:0b.0: AHCI 0001.0200 32 slots 6 ports 1.5 Gbps 0x3 impl IDE mode 02:37:16[ 0.792107] ahci 0000:00:0b.0: flags: 64bit ncq sntf pm led pio slum part boh 02:37:16[ 0.792111] ahci 0000:00:0b.0: setting latency timer to 64 02:37:16[ 0.813473] scsi0 : ahci 02:37:16[ 0.823340] scsi1 : ahci 02:37:16[ 0.848164] ata1: SATA max UDMA/133 abar m8192@0xe7484000 port 0xe7484100 irq 43 02:37:16[ 0.848166] ata2: SATA max UDMA/133 abar m8192@0xe7484000 port 0xe7484180 irq 43 02:37:16[ 1.190132] ata1: SATA link up 1.5 Gbps (SStatus 113 SControl 300) 02:37:16[ 1.190153] ata2: SATA link up 1.5 Gbps (SStatus 113 SControl 300) 02:37:16[ 1.213568] ata1.00: ATA-8: OCZ-VERTEX2, 1.23, max UDMA/133 02:37:16[ 1.213572] ata1.00: 195371568 sectors, multi 1: LBA48 NCQ (depth 31/32) 02:37:16[ 1.227293] ata2.00: ATA-8: ST9500420ASG, 0002SDM1, max UDMA/133 02:37:16[ 1.227297] ata2.00: 976773168 sectors, multi 16: LBA48 NCQ (depth 31/32) 02:37:16[ 1.229570] ata2.00: configured for UDMA/133 02:37:16[ 1.240120] ata2: exception Emask 0x10 SAct 0x0 SErr 0x5850000 action 0xe frozen 02:37:16[ 1.240123] ata2: irq_stat 0x00000040, connection status changed 02:37:16[ 1.240127] ata2: SError: { PHYRdyChg CommWake LinkSeq TrStaTrns DevExch } 02:37:16[ 1.240133] ata2: hard resetting link 02:37:16[ 1.260738] ata1.00: configured for UDMA/133 02:37:16[ 1.280111] ata1: exception Emask 0x10 SAct 0x0 SErr 0x5850000 action 0xe frozen 02:37:16[ 1.280114] ata1: irq_stat 0x00000040, connection status changed 02:37:16[ 1.280118] ata1: SError: { PHYRdyChg CommWake LinkSeq TrStaTrns DevExch } 02:37:16[ 1.280122] ata1: hard resetting link 02:37:16[ 1.990101] ata2: SATA link up 1.5 Gbps (SStatus 113 SControl 300) 02:37:16[ 1.994215] ata2.00: configured for UDMA/133 02:37:16[ 1.994220] ata2: EH complete 02:37:16[ 2.030097] ata1: SATA link up 1.5 Gbps (SStatus 113 SControl 300) 02:37:16[ 2.090773] ata1.00: configured for UDMA/133 02:37:16[ 2.090778] ata1: EH complete 02:37:16[ 2.090931] scsi 0:0:0:0: Direct-Access ATA OCZ-VERTEX2 1.23 PQ: 0 ANSI: 5 02:37:16[ 2.091045] sd 0:0:0:0: Attached scsi generic sg0 type 0 02:37:16[ 2.091121] sd 0:0:0:0: [sda] 195371568 512-byte logical blocks: (100 GB/93.1 GiB) 02:37:16[ 2.091159] scsi 1:0:0:0: Direct-Access ATA ST9500420ASG 0002 PQ: 0 ANSI: 5 02:37:16[ 2.091163] sd 0:0:0:0: [sda] Write Protect is off 02:37:16[ 2.091165] sd 0:0:0:0: [sda] Mode Sense: 00 3a 00 00 02:37:16[ 2.091183] sd 0:0:0:0: [sda] Write cache: enabled, read cache: enabled, doesn't support DPO or FUA 02:37:16[ 2.091252] sd 1:0:0:0: Attached scsi generic sg1 type 0 02:37:16[ 2.091446] sd 1:0:0:0: [sdb] 976773168 512-byte logical blocks: (500 GB/465 GiB) 02:37:16[ 2.091580] sd 1:0:0:0: [sdb] Write Protect is off 02:37:16[ 2.091582] sd 1:0:0:0: [sdb] Mode Sense: 00 3a 00 00 02:37:16[ 2.091637] sd 1:0:0:0: [sdb] Write cache: enabled, read cache: enabled, doesn't support DPO or FUA 02:37:16[ 2.093140] sd 0:0:0:0: [sda] Attached SCSI disk 02:37:16[ 2.093773] sd 1:0:0:0: [sdb] Attached SCSI disk 02:37:16[ 2.693899] EXT4-fs (dm-0): mounted filesystem with ordered data mode.   • problem using base64 encoder and InputStreamReader

    - by karoberts
    I have some CLOB columns in a database that I need to put Base64 encoded binary files in. These files can be large, so I need to stream them, I can't read the whole thing in at once. I'm using org.apache.commons.codec.binary.Base64InputStream to do the encoding, and I'm running into a problem. My code is essentially this FileInputStream fis = new FileInputStream(file); Base64InputStream b64is = new Base64InputStream(fis, true, -1, null); InputStreamReader reader = new InputStreamReader(b64is); preparedStatement.setCharacterStream(1, reader); When I run the above code, I get one of these during the execution of the update java.io.IOException: Underlying input stream returned zero bytes, it is thrown deep in the InputStreamReader code. Why would this not work? It seems to me like the reader would attempt to read from the base 64 stream, which would read from the file stream, and everything should be happy.

  • PERSISTENCE LOB WITH JPA

    Hi, Folks. I have this problem using JBOSS, EJB3 and MSSQL Express . i'm trying to persist an entity with an Blob attribute which was converted into a byte[], apparently it create the entity perfectly, no error was logged at jboss's console. but when i check into database the column is null. i already checked the Object to byte[] method and it is fine. i tried assigning Image and varbinary(Max) data type to this column. so i really don't know what it happening, why the column is not inserted into database. thanks a lot.

  • ZeroC Ice "checked casts" in Scala

    - by Alexey Romanov
    ZeroC Ice for Java translates every Slice interface Simple into (among other things) a proxy interface SimplePrx and a proxy SimplePrxHelper. If I have an ObjectPrx (the base interface for all proxies), I can check whether it actually has interface Simple by using a static method on SimplePrxHelper: val obj : Ice.ObjectPrx = ...; // Get a proxy from somewhere... val simple : SimplePrx = SimplePrxHelper.checkedCast(obj); if (simple != null) // Object supports the Simple interface... else // Object is not of type Simple... I wanted to write a method castTo so that I could replace the second line with val simple = castTo[SimplePrx](obj) or val simple = castTo[SimplePrxHelper](obj) So far as I can see, Scala's type system is not expressive enough to allow me to define castTo. Is this correct?

  • How do I set an array in one class with another array in another class

It just crashes. The NSLog says that the powerClass.pickerArray is NULL. Please help point me in the right direction.

  • Ninject with MembershipProvider | RoleProvider

    - by DVark
    I'm using ninject as my IoC and I wrote a role provider as follows: public class BasicRoleProvider : RoleProvider { private IAuthenticationService authenticationService; public BasicRoleProvider(IAuthenticationService authenticationService) { if (authenticationService == null) throw new ArgumentNullException("authenticationService"); this.authenticationService = authenticationService; } /* Other methods here */ } I read that Provider classes get instantiated before ninject gets to inject the instance. How do I go around this? I currently have this ninject code: Bind<RoleProvider>().To<BasicRoleProvider>().InRequestScope(); From this answer here. If you mark your dependencies with [Inject] for your properties in your provider class, you can call kernel.Inject(MemberShip.Provider) - this will assign all dependencies to your properties. I do not understand this.

  • Mobile Safari Geolocation API Issues

    - by sph
    Hi, since Mobile Safari's Geolocation API should be an implementation of the W3C Geolocation API I found some bugs. I was wondering if anybody noticed the same. As specified in the W3C Geolocation API the PositionCallback returns a Position object, which contains a Coordinates object. In this object all attributes are of type double. Using navigator.geolocation.getCurrentPosition and checking the Position object in the successCallback the accuracy attribute is always an object, but should be a double. The heading attribute is always -1 when testing in the iPhone simulator, but should be null or between 0 and 360. 2. Setting the options parameter for navigator.geolocation.watchPosition or navigator.geolocation.getCurrentPosition as specified in the W3C Geolocation API has no effect. No matter what is set as the timeout value, the win callback is called every 10 seconds. For example setting the timeout=1000 should immediately call either the successCallback or errorCallback. Thanks

  • adding tabs to tabcontrol from inside usercontrol

    - by Jakob
    How can I add tabs to a tabcontrol that exists in one usercontrol from another usercontrol that is contained within a tab itself?? Can I do it without passing in the tabcontrol as a parameter in the constructor, perhaps via some static global method? I've tried public static ObservableTabCollection FindCollectionFromUC(this DependencyObject depObject) { bool loop = true; var parent = (VisualTreeHelper.GetParent(depObject) as FrameworkElement); while (loop) { if (parent.GetType() is TabControl) { loop = false; return ((ObservableTabCollection)((TabControl)parent).ItemsSource); } } return null; } but this is just an infinite loop

  • Android programmatically add buttons to layout from string array

    - by Luke Batley
    Does anyone know how to programatically add buttons to the layout from an array? I have an array of titles and icons that i have used for a list view and now i'm wanting to reuse the same arrays to create a layout as displayed here so the layout adds a button for each item in the array and arranges them in 3's according to device width. is this possible to do? I have tried using a custom Array Adapter to generate the Grid but getting a null pointer error at the point menuGrid = (GridView) findViewById(R.id.gridView1); MenuItemsSetup menuData[] = new MenuItemsSetup[] { new MenuItemsSetup(R.drawable.ic_menu_icon1, "menuItem1"), new MenuItemsSetup(R.drawable.ic_menu_icon2, "menuItem2"), new MenuItemsSetup(R.drawable.ic_menu_icon3, "menuItem3"), new MenuItemsSetup(R.drawable.ic_menu_icon4, "menuItem4"), new MenuItemsSetup(R.drawable.ic_menu_icon5, "menuItem5"), new MenuItemsSetup(R.drawable.ic_menu_icon6, "menuItem6"), new MenuItemsSetup(R.drawable.ic_menu_icon7, "menuItem7"), new MenuItemsSetup(R.drawable.ic_menu_icon8, "menuItem8") }; String[] menuBgColours = {"#FFFFFF","#FFFFFF", ,"#888888", "#FFFFBB", "#BBFFFF","#000000", "#666666"}; CustomArrayAdapter adapter = new CustomArrayAdapter(this, R.layout.drawer_list_item, menuData, menuBgColours); menuList.setAdapter(adapter); menuGrid.setAdapter(adapter);

  • Hardest javascript debugging problem ever

    - by Craig
    We have an ASP.NET application and when running on client site they often get null reference Javascript errors. As with all these errors the information IE6 displays is less than helpful. But the problem is as soon as I install IE script debugger and try and debug a bit more the error becomes non-reproducible.When script debugger is not installed then the error occurs again. Are there any other tools that could be helpful for javascript debugging on client site. The error is also not produced with IE7 or Firefox.

  • Injecting (INotifyPropertyChanged functionality) to an instance of an class

    Hi ! I have a class that implements INotifyPropertyChanged. I create an instance of a class in some viewModel. Is it possible to remove this functionality from the class and inject it after the instance was created? I heard that ICustomTypeDescriptor would make this happen, but i dont know how to use it. public class C : ICustomNotifyPropertyChanged { public event PropertyChangedEventHandler PropertyChanged; public int _id; public string _name; public int Id { get { return _id; } set { if (_id == value) { return; } _id = value; OnPropertyChanged("Id"); } } public string Name { get { return _name; } set { if (_name == value) { return; } _name = value; OnPropertyChanged("Name"); } } public void OnPropertyChanged(string name) { PropertyChangedEventHandler handler = PropertyChanged; if (handler != null) { handler(this, new PropertyChangedEventArgs(name)); } }

  • How to set the skin of a DotNetNuke page through code?

    - by ks78
    I'm working on a DNN module that creates DNN pages (tabs) and places DNN modules on them through code. So, far that's working very well. However, I'd like it to also be able to programmatically set the page's skin and place the modules in the appropriate pane. Does anyone know how to do this using code? Solution: I set SkinSrc and ContainerSrc as mika suggested. Here's my source, if you're interested. This is where I set SkinSrc. ''' <summary>Create new DNN tab/page.</summary> Private Function CreatePage(ByVal ParentID As Integer, ByVal PageName As String, ByVal PageTitle As String, ByVal Description As String, ByVal Keywords As String, ByVal Permissions As TabPermissionCollection, Optional ByVal SkinSrc As String = "", Optional ByVal isVisible As Boolean = True, Optional ByVal LoadDefaultModules As Boolean = True) As Tabs.TabInfo Try Dim tabCtrlr As New TabController Dim newTab As New Tabs.TabInfo Dim newPermissions As TabPermissionCollection = newTab.TabPermissions Dim permissionProvider As PermissionProvider = permissionProvider.Instance Dim infPermission As TabPermissionInfo ' set new page properties newTab.PortalID = PortalId newTab.TabName = PageName newTab.Title = PageTitle newTab.Description = Description newTab.KeyWords = Keywords newTab.IsDeleted = False newTab.IsSuperTab = False newTab.IsVisible = isVisible newTab.DisableLink = False newTab.IconFile = "" newTab.Url = "" newTab.ParentId = ParentID 'add skinsrc if specified If (SkinSrc.Length > 0) Then newTab.SkinSrc = SkinSrc ' create new page tabCtrlr.AddTab(newTab, LoadDefaultModules) ' copy permissions selected in Permissions collection For index As Integer = 0 To (Permissions.Count - 1) infPermission = New TabPermissionInfo infPermission.AllowAccess = Permissions(index).AllowAccess infPermission.RoleID = Permissions(index).RoleID infPermission.RoleName = Permissions(index).RoleName infPermission.TabID = Permissions(index).TabID infPermission.PermissionID = Permissions(index).PermissionID 'save permission info newPermissions.Add(infPermission, True) permissionProvider.SaveTabPermissions(newTab) Next index 'return TabInfo of new page Return newTab Catch ex As Exception 'failure Return New Tabs.TabInfo End Try End Function These next two functions were taken from the DNN source and tweaked slightly, so I can't take credit for much of them. Also, if you use these in your own modules there could be issues when upgrading DNN. Although the upgrade from 5.05 to 5.06 went smoothly for me. In the AddNewModule function, I used ContainerSrc to specify the custom container to use. • Why eGet() in EMF returns Object rather than EObject?

    - by Gabriel Šcerbák
    I am working on some code using the EMF framework in Java, but it is really hard to use, e.g. I cannot implement OCL-like query API on top of EMF which would be type-safe. One of the reasons is that eGet() for a EStructuralFeature return just an Object, not EObject. So anything I would write must use much of null checking, type checking and type casting which is unsafe, not performant and cannot be generalized in a reusable way. Why doesn't EMF generate dummy implementations with EObject wrappers for arbitrary Object value? Implementing the EObject and hence the EClass interfaces even with simple throw UnsupportedOperationException is really a pain (the APIs are too big). The same holds for the eContainer() method which makes navigatinng the model upwards painful.

  • Cannot convert const char * to char *

    - by robUK
    Hello, Visual Studio c++ 2005 I am getting an error on the last line of this code. int Utils::GetLengthDiff ( const char * input, int & num_subst ) { int num_wide = 0, diff = 0 ; const char * start_ptr = input ; num_subst = 0 ; while ( ( start_ptr = strstr ( start_ptr, enc_start ) ) != NULL ) { char * end_ptr = strstr ( start_ptr, enc_end ); // Error So I changed the line to this and it worked ok const char * end_ptr = strstr ( start_ptr, enc_end ); So why would I need to declare end_ptr as a const as well? Many thanks,

  • Where and which data to save into session on an ASP.NET MVC 2 application?

    - by Shaharyar
    I am having some trouble saving the state of my current view. Currenly I have several selectlist calling their own Action method on the controller that returns the Index view with the filtered model based on the values of the selectlist. I have also written a little FileResult action that creates a csv file based on the current model. But I am only covering one selectlist right now as I only save the value of selectList1 into the session and access it with Session["SelectListValue1"] What are the best practices in this situation? Should I redo the entire (each action for each SelectList) part? Should I save each SelectLists value into the session and check if it's null? Or should I just save the Lambda Expression into the session and modify it during every call?

  • Hibernate - PropertyNotFoundException: Could not find a getter for ...

    - by Ben Noland
    I have a class that looks like the following: public class MyClass { private String dPart1; public String getDPart1() { return dPart1; } public void setDPart1(String dPart1) { this.dPart1 = dPart1; } } My hibernate mapping file maps the property as follows: <property name="dPart1" not-null="true"/> I get the following error: org.hibernate.PropertyNotFoundException: Could not find a getter for dPart1 in class com.mypackage.MyClass at org.hibernate.property.BasicPropertyAccessor.createGetter(BasicPropertyAccessor.java:282) at org.hibernate.property.BasicPropertyAccessor.getGetter(BasicPropertyAccessor.java:275) at org.hibernate.mapping.Property.getGetter(Property.java:272) at org.hibernate.tuple.entity.PojoEntityTuplizer.buildPropertyGetter(PojoEntityTuplizer.java:247) at org.hibernate.tuple.entity.AbstractEntityTuplizer.<init>(AbstractEntityTuplizer.java:125) at org.hibernate.tuple.entity.PojoEntityTuplizer.<init>(PojoEntityTuplizer.java:55) at org.hibernate.tuple.entity.EntityEntityModeToTuplizerMapping.<init>(EntityEntityModeToTuplizerMapping.java:56) at org.hibernate.tuple.entity.EntityMetamodel.<init>(EntityMetamodel.java:302) at org.hibernate.persister.entity.AbstractEntityPersister.<init>(AbstractEntityPersister.java:434) at It appears that hibernate doesn't like my capitalization. How should I fix this?

  • google maps everytime fails to place some markers on the map

    - by Luca
    hello! im trying to place like 130/140 markers on a custom google map. i inject the map with jquery and gmaps (http://gmap.nurtext.de/) everytime, at random (not related to specific markers) a lots of markers are not shown. firebug report this error: a is null and this error comes from this file: http://maps.gstatic.com/intl/it_ALL/mapfiles/285c/maps2.api/main.js if i refresh the page...some other markers are "hidden" and other ones are shown. anyone had this problem/can help me or suggest another safe way to show all markers? thanks a lot! EDIT: this is how i inject the map and the markers (with a lots of address, but in this example only few) $(document).ready(function() { $("#container").gMap( { scrollwheel: false, maptype: G_PHYSICAL_MAP, icon: { image: "files/images/gmap_pin.png", iconsize: [32, 37], iconanchor: [32, 37], infowindowanchor: [12, 0] }, address: "Milano", zoom: 4, markers: [ { address: "Viale Certosa, Milano" }, { address: "Viale Ceccarini, Milano" }, { address: "Viale Italia, Milano" }, { address: "Via Rodi, Milano" }, ] }); });

  • Hiding Table Rows

    - by David Stein
    I have a table that I'm using to show details from the line items of a quote. I want to hide a particular row depending on the value of the field in it. The expression I've tried is to set the row visibility to: =IIF(isnothing(First(Fields!NEW_PRICEBREAKS.Value, "QuoteDetail")),true,false) When I run the query from the dataset "Null" returns for NEW_PRICEBREAKS for most of the records. Also, when I expanded the row with another column with this expression: =IIF(isnothing(First(Fields!NEW_PRICEBREAKS.Value, "QuoteDetail")),"is nothing","not nothing") I see "not nothing" repeated over and over again. I've attempted to use TRIM inside of the isnothing to remove spaces and it still doesn't work. Also, the sql data type for NEW_PRICEBREAKS is nvarchar(MAX). Any ideas how I can suppress this row correctly?

  • Equality and Assigment Operators

    - by Jeremy Smith
    I have a assembly compiled in VB.NET that contains two operators: Public Shared Operator =(quarterA As CalendarQuarter, quarterB As CalendarQuarter) As Boolean Return quarterA.StartDate = quarterB.StartDate AndAlso quarterA.EndDate = quarterB.EndDate AndAlso quarterA.Quarter = quarterB.Quarter End Operator Public Shared Operator <>(quarterA As CalendarQuarter, quarterB As CalendarQuarter) As Boolean Return Not (quarterA = quarterB) End Operator However, when using the assembly in C# to perform equality checks if (qtr != null) I receive the error: Cannot implicity convert type 'object' to 'bool' My original intent with the = operator was only for assignment purposes in VB, so I may be way off base (I don't use custom operators too often). What do I need to do to make the operator behave with both equality and assignment operations?

  • Efficient algorithm to generate all solutions of a linear diophantine equation with ai=1

    - by Ben
    I am trying to generate all the solutions for the following equations for a given H. With H=4 : 1) ALL solutions for x_1 + x_2 + x_3 + x_4 =4 2) ALL solutions for x_1 + x_2 + x_3 = 4 3) ALL solutions for x_1 + x_2 = 4 4) ALL solutions for x_1 =4 For my problem, there are always 4 equations to solve (independently from the others). There are a total of 2^(H-1) solutions. For the previous one, here are the solutions : 1) 1 1 1 1 2) 1 1 2 and 1 2 1 and 2 1 1 3) 1 3 and 3 1 and 2 2 4) 4 Here is an R algorithm which solve the problem. library(gtools) H<-4 solutions<-NULL for(i in seq(H)) { res<-permutations(H-i+1,i,repeats.allowed=T) resum<-apply(res,1,sum) id<-which(resum==H) print(paste("solutions with ",i," variables",sep="")) print(res[id,]) } However, this algorithm makes more calculations than needed. I am sure it is possible to go faster. By that, I mean not generating the permutations for which the sums is H Any idea of a better algorithm for a given H ?
