Like I am now working on a game and there could be any number of sprites and i want to perform some actions on all of that sprites, So do I have to use as many timers or schedulers as sprites ? • CSS new line issues

    - by user328371
Hi, I'm trying to create a breezebrowser template (used for generating image galleries locally, outputs HTML). I've taken the HTML from my wordpress template and managed to generate the following gallery http://uploads.peasyphotos.com/20100607t-candids/gallery/ but each image goes on a new line and i don't know why, i presume it's in the CSS. What should I be looking for in the CSS to try and stop this, or what can I put around my template code to disable the CSS for that part? Thanks

  • Group multiple media queries formed as output of LESS css

    - by Goje87
    I was planning to use LESS css in my project (PHP). I am planning to use its nested @media query feature. I find that it fails to group the multiple media queries in the output css it generates. For example: // LESS .header { @media all and (min-width: 240px) and (max-width: 319px) { font-size: 12px; } @media all and (min-width: 320px) and (max-width: 479px) { font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; } } .body { @media all and (min-width: 240px) and (max-width: 319px) { font-size: 10px; } @media all and (min-width: 320px) and (max-width: 479px) { font-size: 12px; } } // output CSS @media all and (min-width: 240px) and (max-width: 319px) { .header { font-size: 12px; } } @media all and (min-width: 320px) and (max-width: 479px) { .header { font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; } } @media all and (min-width: 240px) and (max-width: 319px) { .body { font-size: 10px; } } @media all and (min-width: 320px) and (max-width: 479px) { .body { font-size: 12px; } } My expected output is (@media queries grouped) @media all and (min-width: 240px) and (max-width: 319px) { .header { font-size: 12px; } .body { font-size: 10px; } } @media all and (min-width: 320px) and (max-width: 479px) { .header { font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; } .body { font-size: 12px; } } I would like to know if it can be done in LESS it self or is there any simple CSS parser I can use to manipulate the output CSS to group the @media queries.

  • CSS does not load when updated in an ASP.NET MVC 2 website

    - by dannie.f
I have a weird problem. Whenever the website designer updates the css file for the website I am working on. I overwrite the old css file with the new version and copy any new images. The problem is that whenever I do this the images in the website header no longer loads along with some other styles that depend on css loading some images. I have tried everything, clearing the browser cache, deleting asp.net temporary files, restarting the browser, changing browsers and pressing Ctrl + F5. Still the images don't load. What usually happens also is that the problem would eventually correct itself and I wouldn't know why. This driving me crazy. Does anyone else have the problem and know how to fix it? If this helps, the header is located in a partial view and the master page loads the css file using Url.Content. The images are css sprites. This issue persists no matter which browser I try, Chrome, Firefox or IE. I am using Visual Studio 2008 SP1 on Windows 7 Ultimate. Other team members have experienced this issue.

  • Toggle a CSS selector using JQuery

    - by BEECHBOY707
I am trying to toggle the display of a CSS selector (ie.to show/hide it) using JQuery. I successfully toggled the display of a div, but want to do this now with the CSS selector :after. The CSS selector is being used to create the arrow on the box. My attempt can be seen here: http://jsfiddle.net/beechboy707/7um9knxt/1/ Here is an extract from it showing the Jquery which is supposed to relate to the CSS selector: $("#supportus-button-1").click(function () { $(".supportus-button:after").toggle(); }); Many thanks for your help, Max

  • css transition initial value

    - by nizzle
I would like to animate a div from right to left. I cannot use a stylesheet because I don't know the amount of px. If I set the initial value (where the animation starts from) and the end-value in the same function, it doesn't work. //DOES NOT WORK $("#hi").css({"width" : "200px", "transform" : "translateX(500px)"}); $("#hi").css({"transition" : "all 5s ease-out", "transform" : "translateX(0px)"}); //WORKS $("#alsohi").css({"width" : "200px", "transform" : "translateX(500px)"}); setTimeout(function(){ $("#alsohi").css({"transition" : "all 5s ease-out", "transform" : "translateX(0px)"}); }, 50); as you can see in this fiddle: http://jsfiddle.net/c66Fb/ what is a better solution to this than using a timeout?

  • CSS compilers and converting IE hacks to conditional css

    - by xckpd7
Skip to bottom for question, but first, a little context. So I have been looking into CSS compilers (like Sass & Less) for a while, and have been really interested in them, not because they help me understand anything easier (I've been doing css for a couple of years now) but rather they cut down on cruft and help me see things easier. I recently have been looking into reliably implementing inline-block (and clearfix), which require lots of extraneous code & hacks. Now according to all the authorities in the field, I shouldn't put IE hacks in the same page I do my CSS in, I should make them conditional. But for me that is a really big hassle to go through and manage all this additional code, which is why I really like things like Less. Instead of applying unsemantic classes, you specify a mixin and apply it once, and you're all set. So I guess I got a little of the track (I wanted to explain my points) but bascially, I'm at the point where these CSS compilers are very useful for me, and allow me to abstract a lot of the cruft away, and reliably apply them once and then just compile it. I would like to have a way to be able to compile IE specific styles into their own conditional files (ala Less / Sass) so I don't have to deal with managing 2 files for no reason. Does anything like a script/applcation that runs and can make underscore / star hacks apart of their own file exist?

  • GAME MAKER Problem with sprites! Can't see the sprite after mouse action

    - by user46882
I have got a problem in Game Maker Pro: http://www.directupload.net/file/d/3646/egdpdu6u_gif.htm At the start we see a white square moving. If I press a key the square stop to move and the background changes to white. If the background changes to white a new animation/sprite should play on the same position where the white square was. BUT IT DOESNT! (Actually it is still there! It just does not move and this is fine) The animation is basically a sprite animation with some outlines of the square. If I press a key again, the background changes to white and we see the animation of the sprite.. but we do not see the animation of the sprites when it does not move. And this is strange!! I want to have the animation of the square when it doesn't move. But I don't get it.. by the way.. the .gif is a old version. I allready fixed the problem with the moving animation.. but I am still not able to play the animation if the square does not fly. The color of the animation is allready set to green or something! for better contrast. But still.. can't see it. Here is the code: obj.weisse.kugel.stepevent = the white square with the movements and sprite animations etc. if (global.kweiss == 1 ) { // vspeed = 8; //visible = true // sprite_index=spr_weisse_kugel; image_speed = 0; image_index = 0; } else if (global.kweiss == 0) { sprite_index=spr_animation_fade_out; image_speed =0.2; image_index=image_number-1 vspeed = 0; //visible = false // } then I have 1 create event for all the global.variables obj.global_var globalvar kweiss; kweiss = 1; globalvar kschwarz; kschwarz = 0; and then I have 1 controll stepevent in a new obj: if device_mouse_check_button_pressed (0, mb_left) { if background_color = c_black { background_color = c_white } else { background_color = c_black } // change of the square to white if (global.kweiss = 0) { global.kweiss = 1; } else { global.kweiss = 0; } if (global.kschwarz = 0) // change the square to black (other bullets.. we do not need this at the moment!) { global.kschwarz = 1; } else { global.kschwarz = 0; } Many thanks in advance

  • Drawing Sprites for iOS games on iPad

    - by TheGamingArt
So, I'm quite new and confused on the way to tackle creating sprites/sprite sheets for iOS games. I own the full CS5 sweet and have been told that fireworks is the best way to go for creating these (although I don't have the slightest idea in how yet and would love some tutorials/books specifying sprite sheet creation). My thoughts directed me towards tablet drawing, as I am awful at drawing with a mouse and/or tablet without a screen on it (such as a basic wacom). I was thinking about getting an iPad, as this would provide me with an iPad for testing purposes and a tablet. Does anyone know if it's possible (or even a good idea) to draw out your sprites on the iPad. Is it possible to export them out into Fireworks and such?

  • Center Page Content Horizontally using Div with CSS

    - by Aamir Hasan
Center your website content to create equal sized Space from  the left and right using css. Horizontally centered by setting its right and left margin widths to "auto". This is the preferred way to accomplish horizontal centering with CSS. Create a warpper div which will hold your content div and then give it a margin:auto attribute which will bring your warpper div into center of page.<html><head><title>Center Page Content Horizontally and Vertically using Div with CSS </title> <style type="text/css">body{background-color:#eaeaea;}  #wrapper {width: 777px;margin:auto}  #content{background-color:#00FF00;min-height:400px;}  </style>  </head>  <body>  <form id="form1" runat="server">  <div id="wrapper"> <div id="wrapper">  <div id="content">  Welcome to Studentacad.com  </div>  </div>  </form>  </body></html>

  • CSS sprites navigation and User with image disabled.....

    - by metal-gear-solid
I made a css menu with css sprites but the problem is with sprite we don't use inline image we use in background only so if images are disabled in browser then nothing will show . any solution for this ? For example : See this menu and turn off images : http://line25.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/css-menu/demo/demo.html (it will not be seen if images are disabled in browser) this menu is against on this quote Ensure your website works with images disabled Creating a site that relies too heavily on images is never a good idea. Although almost a thing of the past, there are still users who run at very low internet speeds. Also, if a user needs to—for whatever reason—disable images, can they still access all the content they need to? http://csswizardry.com/quick-tips/#tip-02 Shouldn't we use this type of navigation.

  • CSS Intelligent Merger

  • Custom per domain CSS in Internet Explorer

    - by Damiqib
We have an old web app, which would be much more usable if it could be visually tweaked a bit. Being in a corporate environment - IE (always using the latest version) is all I can use. Also app in question being 3rd-party - there's no way to change it's own CSS files. Is there a way to use per domain injected custom CSS in internet Explorer. Let's say I want to change the background-color of domain http://oldapp.localintranet/ - is there any way to make this happen? Place to put a custom.css-file? With an add-on/extension?

  • Choosing a CSS grid/framework

    - by jonallard
There are many grids and framework to choose from. A Google search for CSS frameworks will return a dozen articles that themselves list a number of frameworks to choose from. When it comes to choosing one, it's easy to be lost without having an intimate knowledge of all of them. What are the main factors that go into choosing a CSS framework, and how will those choices map to certain frameworks? More generally, how does one choose a CSS framework? Note 1: I'm using "grid" and "framework" almost interchangeably here, but there is probably one I should use over the other. Corrections on this are welcome. Note 2: I am well aware that some choices will depend on taste and accordingly, this question can turn into a "best of" contest/subjective topic. I'm trying to keep it as answerable as possible, as I'm pretty sure many have this problem/question of choosing a framework and an answer to that would benefit the community. As such, improvements to this question are welcome rather than just closing it.

  • Beginning HTML and CSS [closed]

    - by romani
My goal of learning HTML and CSS is to be able to modify popular scripts such as Wordpress, vBulletin, Drupal, etc. I haven't started yet learning CSS and HTML or XHTML. I see many, many books and tutorials out there so it is difficult to make a choice. I think most of web designers were like me in the past and have read many books. So, could you tell me about 1 good book for HTML and 1 good book for CSS? and if I should read the book from cover to cover or only learning the basics is enough for modifying Wordpress, for example!

  • Using CSS Classes for individual effects - opinions?

    - by Cool Hand Luke UK
Hey, Just trying to canvas some opinions here. I was wondering how people go about adding individual effects to html elements. Take this example: you have three types of h1 titles all the same size but some are black some are gold and some are white. Some have a text-shadow etc. Would you create separate CSS classes and add them do the h1 tag or would you create a new single class for each different h1 title type (with grouped CSS elements)? With singular class for each effect you can build up combos of classes in html class="gold shadow" but also how would you name them. For example its bad practice to give classes and id names associated to colours, because it doesn't define what it does well. However is this ok with textual CSS classes? Just wondering what others do, I know there are no hard and fast rules. Cheers.
