    Hi. I can not make NHibernate 2.1 work in machines without framework 3.X (basically, windows 2000 SP4, although it happens with XP too). NHibernate doc do no mention this. Maybe you can help? I NEED to make NHibernate 2.1 work in Windows 2000 PCs, so you think this can be done? Thanks! PD: DataBase is SQL 2000/2005.     I have multiple websites set up in the same folder, and I want to create a batch file that will delete the cache in each of them without having to add a new line for each site. For example I am using this: del /S /Q D:\www\site-name\cache\* Which works, but I have to add a new line for every site in D:\www. The del command doesn't support: del /S /Q D:\www\*\cache\* So what is a better way to do this?

  • Checkpoint Endpoint Connect Imaging - Are there any gotchas?

    I am about to install CheckPoint EPC on a load of new laptops being rolled out. I plan to add it to the image, but want to check if there are any gotchas? By this I mean are there any UIDs that need removing before the image is taken to "depersonalise" the install. For example when you install LANDesk or McAfee (when using ePolicy) you need to remove the identifiers - do I need to do the same with EPC? Thanks in advance, Ben

  • Outlook uses > 700mb of RAM. How do I fix this?!

    I've been using outlook for years now, and I've never run into this problem before. Using Microsoft Outlook 2007, with only 1 email account, and no more than 100 emails in my inbox (though I have many many folders, with emails in them), Outlook can sit around and eventually get up to 700mb of ram usage. I've tried different types I've read, like compacting my folders, or not using Internet Calendars / RSS features, and right now I've even disabled Xobni...but still no effect. Any ideas?! Thanks!   • What is causing my newly built PC to BSOD?

    I recently built my own PC from parts and installed Windows 7 and I have been getting BSODs with various different stop codes. The latest was 0x24, but I've also had 0xd1 and 0x1e. However, Windows does not let me know where the fault occurred, so I have no idea how to go about resolving this. I've uploaded the last three minidumps in case someone can make sense out of them and let me know what could be causing my BSODs. Thanks, Ben

    I want to create an account that will perform the following: Join computers to a domain (not restricted to 10, like a normal user) Check for computer accounts in AD Delete computers from AD Move computers between OUs I don't want to allow it to do anything else, so don't want a domain admin account.     We've been having some trouble lately with our site timing out during times of high traffic. We're working on a number of things to resolve it. During this process I came across our server diagnostics page on Rackspace, and it has the following line: The host server's load is: 0.08 0.08 0.03 1/204 2437 I couldn't find an explanation on their site or Google.     Bit of a newb using *nix (I'm actually using a bash shell in OS X 10.5) and I wondered what the probably very simple answer is to this... When I write a script (called, say, my_script) and I've saved it to the current directory, why do I have to put a period and a forward slash in front of its name to run it? Like this: ./my_script Can't the shell tell that I want to run it from the current directory? Windows seems to handle that situation. Cheers Ben

    Hey, Is anyone running Zend Server under Daemontools? I know I can use -D NO_DETACH to run apache under daemontools. But, I'm not sure if the other Zend Server components (monitor, lighthttpd, scd, jobqueue) have similar options. (The end goal is "run Zend Server with service supervision", so upstart would be fine too. For reference, my servers are running Ubuntu 10.04 LTS.) Ben

    We are getting this exception when we start our cluster (2 managed servers, 1 admin), we have deployed only the ears corresponding to the OBPM 10.3.1 SP1 in a weblogic 10.3. When the server cluster starts, one of the managed servers (the first to start) get overloaded and ran out of connections to the directory DB because of this repeatedly error.     I'm experiencing some problems when trying to connect my PC to the router through a switch. When the PC is directly connected to the router, everything works fine, Ubuntu (14.04) starts normally, and the Internet connection runs inmediately.   • Best way of learning Python + GUI when coming from .NET

    I've been developing applications in C# / VB.NET for about 3-4 years (.NET Framework v2.0, 3.5, 4). I have also developed some command-line applications or scripts in C, and Python under Linux. Sometimes I need to develop my applications in another languages, like Python, but the problem thing is that lots of those applications require a GUI. Maybe not a too complex one, but it does require some windows with buttons, text boxes, list boxes,... What books/tips/tutorials do you suggest me to start working with that language and be able to deploy my deliverables not only in .NET? Note: Learning python is not the big deal here, because I already know the basic of it. I just want to focus on the GUI. Maybe this question should be on UI instead of here? If so, please, migrate it :)

El software de OCR inteligente se basa en lógica difusa y nos permite definir los umbrales de validación totalmente adecuados a nuestros factores de confianza.     I learned at the University some steps to model a database: Model the problem using the Extended Entity-Relationship Model. Extract the functional dependencies Apply some algorithms to normalize the database (3NF or Boyce-Codd) Create the database I'm studying Computer Science and since I received that course I'm wondering if I always need to do those steps when creating a complex database for an specified problem. For example, do PHP / .NET / .. programmers always do that? or there are some tools to simplify that process, maybe using another way of represent the problem instead of the EERM?

    I been reading about RK4 for physics implementation in a game, so I read in some pages and all people recommend me this page: http://gafferongames.com/game-physics/fix-your-timestep/ This page shows clearly how this one works, but I can't figure out how to implement in my game, maybe I don't understand that good but I find some things that are not really clearly to me. In my game, the player decides when change direction in the X-Axis but I can't figure out how with this RK4 implementation change the direction of the object, in the example the point goes side to side but I don't understand how I can control when he goes right or left. So if anyone can give a little bit of clarity in this implementation and my problem which I do not understand I will be really grateful. Thanks beforehand

    I am still getting mature as a software engineering/designer/architect, as you may want to call. At this point in time, I am getting small projects, private projects and so on. What I noticed is that even though I think about the SW structure, design some diagrams, have they really clear in my mind when I start coding, at the end, my software is not flexible and clear as I would like to. I would like to ask you what kind of approaches, mechanisms or even tricks do you use, to get your software (and SW design) flexible, robust and clear (easy to understand and use). So....
