  • Hide Address bar for Xpages Mobile Web Application on Ipad (iOS5) and Mobile safari (v5.1)

    With reference to the question I asked couple of days back, it seems to me that address bar cannot be hidden from a xpages mobile web application when it is launched from a href link. Choice is limited to href as "location.assign" or any javascript will not work on mails accessed by lotus traveller. I tried almost 20 different variations published by other experts to hide address bar and none seems to work. Am I wrong in stating that "it is not possible to hide address bar in Xpages mobile web application on ipad when not launched from home screen"?

  • Identifying cause of Software opening hundreds of thousands of handles

    I have a user running the latest public revision of IBM Notes (8.5.4) on a Windows 7 Pro OA installation. Under his profile and only his, when the software is run, the software opens hundreds of thousands of handles, regarding token queries. This involves only this specific user, on his computer, using only said software. I have narrowed down the issue to being related to his profile but am unsure of what to look at next. Any advice would be appreciated.

  • Dynamic IP and spam filtering

    Is it possible to filter incoming spam when the mail server is hosted on a dynamic IP. Static IP is not an option at the moment. Outgoing mail is relayed through a third party service which works great, but I am not sure how I could filter incoming mail within Domino. Has anyone figured out how to do achieve this? Or I am limited to what Domino has to offer to control spam and doing it manually by creating mail rules?

  • Domino nchronos.exe multiple instances causing server to die, and Sametime problems

    I've had this problem for a few months now. I thought it started when I installed the Traveller software on the server to add ActiveSync support, but I removed that and the problem still persists. Basically new instances of "nchronos.exe" keeps spawning (and not ending), so over a period of a few days the server eventually gets drowned in nchronos.exe processes, stops responding and I need to kill Domino. My process count the last time was up at about 330, and when I killed it and restarted the Domino my process count went to 160. I'm running Domino 8.5.1 with Fix Pack 2. I don't know if it's relevant, but my Domino server was also acting as a Sametime server. At around the same time that nchronos started playing up sametime also stopped working. None of my users can connect to sametime and in the domino log it keeps telling me "stpolicy.exe" has terminated. I've googled for that and tried a few things, but nothing seems to make sametime work again. Any thoughts?? Cheers, Kevin

  • How can I use Outlook 2007 to connect to mail service using active sync protocol

    Has anyone tried connected outlook(I am running v2007 on Windows 7) to a mail service using the MS Exchange Active Sync protocol? If so, how did you do it? Wouldn't this solution probably eliminate the need for all the hacks/APIs needed to connect outlook to 'X' mail (Gmail, notes, etc)? I know it is intended for mobile devices, but to me it looks like it is becoming the latest 'de facto' mail protocol for email/calendar/contact sync'ing due to the iPhone's support for it. Thanks!

  • Search for a date between given ranges - Lotus

    I have been trying to work out what is the best way to search for gather all of the documents in a database that have a certain date. Originally I was trying to use FTsearch or search to move through a document collection, but I changed over to processing a view and associated documents. My first question is what is the easiest way to spin through a set of documents and find if a date stored in the documents is greater than or less than a specified date? So, to continue working I implemented the following code. If (doc.creationDate(0) > cdat(parm1)) And (doc.creationDate(0) < CDat(parm2)) then ... end if but the results are off Included! Date:3/12/10 11:07:08 P1:3/1/10 P2: 3/5/10 Included! Date:3/13/10 9:15:09 P1:3/1/10 P2: 3/5/10 Included! Date:3/17/10 16:22:07P1:3/1/10 P2: 3/5/10 You can see that the date stored in the doc is not between P1 and P2. BUT! it does limit the documents with a date less than P1 correctly. So I won't get a result for a document with a date less than 3/1/10 If there isn't a better way than the if statement, can someone help me understand why the two examples from above are included?

This is the requirement for the request: Look for Incoming Mail addressed to #CRITICAL (mutlipurpose, internal group containing a list of engineers) For mail matching Point 1, append "For Immediate Action: " to the front of the Subject Some restrictions I have: Only the Domino server is under my charge, not to touch on network-side or other servers No 3rd party software to be installed I have gone through the configurations in the Domino server and the closest thing I have to filtering Email is the Router/SMTP Restrictions... Rules. But this is not able to fulfill Point 2 in any way. Is this even possible using just Domino server settings, or through agents?

Now my problem is that we have 2 company that will use this room and I would like to forward the meeting request sent to this room to external email address so that the other company email server receive the reservation request and update the calendar on their side to see the accurate availability of the room.   • adding a name to existing LN group distribution and new individuals do not receive email

    I made a recent edit to an existing group distribution to add a person. I've saved it. I see it in the detail of the group listing but plugging it into an email, the naming convention pops up, but not all people on the distribution actually receive the email. I tried deleting and re-adding the new person. I tried closing out then open up tto the detail, and all names show. How do i solve for this?

  • Domino 8.5.3: Attaching an Object Residing on Server (Lotusscript preferred)

    Not sure if this question is more appropriate for ServerFault or StackOverflow, sorry if it should belong elsewhere! I am working on an application and one of the function is to automatically send an email with an attachment. I can code the application to attach the object when it resides on local or on a mapped drive. Newbie Question: Is there a way to have the object reside on the Domino server, and still be able to point to it and have the application automatically attach and send? Is there any method that allows me to do this? Users have no direct access to the server/filesystem, so mapped drive of the Domino server is out of the question. Hope someone can shed some light on this question. Thanks!

  • Server to server replication and CPU and 32k\ corrupt doc

    Summary: if database contains a doc with 32K issue or corrupt, on server to server replication it causes marked increase in CPU in nserver.exe task, which effectively causes our server(s) to slow right down. We have a 5 server cluster (1 "hub" and 4 HTTP servers accessed via reverse proxy and SSO for load balancing and redundancy). All are physically located next to each other on network, they don't have dedicated network\ ports for cluster or replication. I realise IBM recommendation is dedicated port for cluster. Cluster queues are in tolerance and under heavy application user load, i.e. the maximum number of documents are being created, edited, deleted, the replication times between servers are negligible. Normally, all is well. Of the servers in the cluster, 1 is considered the "hub", and imitates a PUSH-PULL replication with it's cluster mates every 60mins, so that the replication load is taken by the hub and not cluster mates. The problem we have: every now and then we get a slow replication time from the hub to a cluster mate, sometimes up to 30mins. This maxes out the nserver.exe task on the "cluster mate" which causes it to respond to http requests very slowly. In the past, we have found that if a corrupt document is in the DB, it can have this affect, but on those occasions, the server log will show the corrupt doc noteId, we run fixup, all well. But we are not now seeing any record of corrupt docs. What we have noticed is if a doc with the 32K issue is present, the same thing can happen. Our only solution in that case is to run a : fixup mydb.nsf -V, which shows it is purging a 32K doc. Luckily we run a reverse proxy, so we can shut HTTP servers down without users noticing, but users do notice when a server has the problem! Has anyone else seen this occur? I have set up DDM event handlers for many of the replication events. I have set the replication time out limit to 5 mins (the max we usually see under full user load is 0.1min), to prevent it rep'ing for 30mins as before. This ia a temporary work around. Does anyone know of a DDM event to trap the 32K issue? we could at least then send alert. Regarding 32K issue: this prob needs another thread, but we are finding this relatively hard to find the source of the issue as the 32K event is fairly rare. Our app is fairly complex, interacting with various other external web services, with 2 way data transfer. But if we do encounter a 32K doc, we can't look at field properties, so we can't work out which field has issue which would give us a clue as to which process is culprit. As above, we run a fixup -V. Any help\ comments on this would be gratefully received.

  • Seeking recommendations on resolving sporadic network connectivity latency for Notes client

    I have Domino servers in geographically disperse data centers in the U.S. Sometimes when I open an NSF on one of those servers the connection times out then when I open the NSF again it connects immediately. This has been going on for years and during that time I have upgraded and changed my own internet connection and moved servers to different data centers. Of course I have direct connection documents using fixed IP addresses. When I do a Notes client Trace nothing is out of the ordinary. My business partner experiences the same thing from an entirely different city and different ISP but to the same servers. Never have any trouble connecting to the HTTP server, just over port 1352. Does anyone have any recommendations on a process to determine what is causing this problem?

  • Generating custom-form documents from base-form plus XML?

    Hi all, this is my first stack overflow, and it's a complex one. Sorry. My task is to generate custom documents from a basic template plus some XML without having a custom form design element for each case. Here's the whole picture: We are building a Lotus Notes (client, not web) application for world-wide application access control; the scope is something like 400.000 users being able to request access to any of 1000+ applications. Each application needs its own request form -- different number of approvers, various info required, that sort of thing. We simply can't have a thousand forms in a database (one per application), and anyway their maintenance really needs to be pushed from the developers to the application owners. So instead of custom forms, we'd like to create a generic "template" form that stores a block of basic fields, but then allows application owners to define another block of fields dynamically -- "I want a mandatory plain-text field named 'Name' here, and then a date field named 'Due' here that must be later than today's date, and then ...". I hope this makes sense (if not, think of it as a generic questionnaire application). I pretty much have the structure in place for designing the dynamic fields (form builder GUI - XML-encoded data - pre-rendered DXL for injecting into a form), including mark-up for field types, value options, and rudimentary field validation instructions. My problem is generating a document with this dynamic content injected at the proper location (without needing a custom form design element for each case). Doing the dynamic content via HTML is out. The Notes client web rendering is simply way too poor, and it would be quite a challenge to implement things like field validation instructions, date selectors, and name look-ups. DXL, on the other hand, would allow us to use native Notes fields and code. As a tech demo, I've managed to implement a custom form generator that injects the pre-rendered DXL for the dynamic content into a base form; but as I said, we don't want a ton of custom form design elements. I've tried to implement a way to create a document with the "store form in document" flag set, but once I've created the document from the base form, I can't get DXL access to the stored form design, and so I can't inject my dynamic content. I know this is not something Notes was ever intended to do. Has anyone ever tried something like it (and gotten away with it)? Thanks for reading this far.     hi All, I am using Domino.dll to access a NSF file in C#.NET 2.0 I am using multiple thread to access 4 NSF files at a time, its working fine for small NSF files, but if i try to access large NSF files i get the Out of Memory Exception and Maximum number of memory segments that Notes can support has been exceeded. This exception usually occurs when i access NotesDocument object from a large NSFVIewFolder in a while loop. I am releasing the instance of the NotesDocument by using the Marshal.ReleaseComObject(NotesDocument); still it throws the same exception. My goal is to access multiple NSF files at a time (MAX 4 NSF files at a time) for large NSF files (may be in GB). Kindly help me, if you got some solution. Thanks.
