  I am building certain GUI in C# for a content manager and looking for the tools or code snippets or open libraries ( code ideally in C# ) which allow me the following : 1. For table A in database X (test ) and table A in database Y (production) and for a simple filter ( e.g. listname = "XYZ" ) I need to show additions/deletions/updates in some way. which might be side-by-side or just html report 2 record added html table with some fields 2 record deleted html table with some fields Considering that this task is very common, I guess, certain components should exist ? Components either return some collections from parameters given for further visualizing or just produce reports mentioned above. 2. I need to push changes for the filter I mentioned in 1 and update table in production database for this filter only ( ie for the particular list approved by content person). Again probably there are certain SQL code generators - components in addition to diffs or standalone. 3. The key thing tools/libraries - should be suitable for integration with the existing application in C#.

  I'm using Django 1.1.1 on a SQL Server 2005 db using the latest sqlserver_ado library. models.py includes: class Project(models.Model): name = models.CharField(max_length=50) class Thing(models.Model): project = models.ForeignKey(Project) reference = models.CharField(max_length=50) class ThingMonth(models.Model): thing = models.ForeignKey(Thing) timestamp = models.DateTimeField() ThingMonthValue = models.FloatField() class Meta: db_table = u'ThingMonthSummary' In a view, I have retrieved a queryset called 'things' which contains 25 Things: things = Thing.objects.select_related().filter(project=1).order_by('reference') I then want to do an aggregate query to get the average ThingMonthValue for the first 20 of those Things for a certain period, and the same value for the last 5. For the first 20 I do: averageThingMonthValue = ThingMonth.objects.filter(turbine__in=things[:20],timestamp__range="2009-01-01 00:00","2010-03-00:00")).aggregate(Avg('ThingMonthValue'))['ThingMonthValue__avg'] This works fine, and returns the desired value. For the last 5 I do: averageThingMonthValue = ThingMonth.objects.filter(turbine__in=things[20:],timestamp__range="2009-01-01 00:00","2010-03-00:00")).aggregate(Avg('ThingMonthValue'))['ThingMonthValue__avg'] But for this I get an SQL error: 'Only one expression can be specified in the select list when the subquery is not introduced with EXISTS.' • CSS doesn't apply to dynamically created elements in IE 7?

  In the project I am working on, I dynamically generate (with javascript) filters that look like this: <div class="filter"> <a ... class="filter_delete_link">Delete</a> <div class="filter_field"> ... </div> <div class="filter_compare"> ... </div> <div class="filter_constraint"> ... </div> <div class="filter_logic"> ... </div> </div> And I have CSS that applies to each filter (for example): .filter a.filter_delete_link{ display:block; height:16px; background: url('../images/remove_16.gif') no-repeat; padding-left:20px; } However, it seems in IE 7 (and probably 6 for that matter), these styles don't get applied to the new filters. Everything works perfectly in Firefox/Chrome/IE8. Using the IE8 developer tools, set to IE7 mode, the browser can see the new elements, and can see the CSS, but just isn't applying the CSS. Is there a way to force IE to reload styles, or perhaps is there a better way to fix this?

  I've searched all over and have found possible solutions but they don't quite work how i need them to. I am really new to jQuery but I'm trying :-) I have an iframe that sits in a Tab ( Tabs powered by jQuery) In the third tab sits an iframe that holds a slideshow My problem: When I click on the third tab which houses the iframe all the controls appear, the carousel seems to be working, but ...no pictures!!! Firefox helped me find what fixes the problem, now i just need to find a way to do fix it. In Firefox when i right click on the iframe and go to This frame - Reload Frame VOILA! Pictures are back! Question: Is it possible with jQuery to tell when the third tab is selected and to refresh a div which contains the iframe when that third tab is selected? My exact requirement was to prompt Open/Save/Color/Print/Font dialog boxes.Ive written code for prompting Save file dialog box. Also I've added a license file using LPK Tool onto my webpage. • App will not launch from drawer after phone is removed from car dock

  I am creating a replacement Car Home app for Android 2.0+ devices. The app needs to launch when the phone is inserted into the car dock, as well as terminate when it is removed from the dock. It also needs to be able to be launched from the app drawer. I'm having a problem right now where once the phone is inserted and removed from the dock, I can no longer launch the app from the app drawer because every time I launch the app my BroadcastReceiver picks up a DOCK_EVENT action for some reason. I created a test project that only registers my BroadcastReceiver, and the same thing happens. • HTTP: can GET and POST requests from a same machine come from different IPs?

  I'm pretty sure I remember reading --but cannot find back the links anymore-- about this: on some ISP (including at least one big ISP in the U.S.) it is possible to have a user's GET and POST request appearing to come from different IPs. (note that this is totally programming related, and I'll give an example below) I'm not talking about having your IP adress dynamically change between two requests. I'm talking about this: IP 1: 123.45.67.89 IP 2: 101.22.33.44 The same user makes a GET, then a POST, then a GET again, then a POST again and the servers see this: - GET from IP 1 - POST from IP 2 - GET from IP 1 - POST from IP 2 So altough it's the same user, the webserver sees different IPs for the GET and the POSTs. Surely seen that HTTP is a stateless protocol this is perfectly legit right? I'd like to find back the explanation as to how/why certain ISP have their networks configured such that this may happen. I'm asking because someone asked me to implement the following IP filter and I'm pretty sure it is fundamentally broken code (breaking havoc for at least one major american ISP users). Here's a Java servlet filter that is supposed to protect against some attacks. The reasoning is that: "For any session filter checks that IP address in the request is the same that was used when session was created. So in this case session ID could not be stolen for forming fake sessions." http://www.servletsuite.com/servlets/protectsessionsflt.htm However I'm pretty sure this is inherently broken because there are ISPs where you may see GET and POST coming from different IPs. Any info on this subject is very welcome.

  So I am trying to make a tabs in a menu but cant make the whole width of each of the tabs 219px. it only allows me to make the li 219 but I wanna make the li a 219px. I cant seem to figure it out.   Hi all, I want to replace an old ISAPI filter that ran on IIS6. This filter checks if the request is of a special kind, then manipulates the header and continues with the request. Two headers are added in the manipulating method that I need for calling another special ISAPI module. I already wrote an IIS7 native module that implements the same method. • Capturing mouse events for specific dom/web elements in QT

  Hi I would like to know if it is possible in QTWebKit to install an event filter or capture events that occur from specific Dom elements. For example, my webview is showing a webpage that has text, images and an edit box, I want to disable the right-clicking and highlighting functionality on the text and images but at the same time when the user right-clicks inside the edit box, I want to display my context menu. I am not sure where should I install my event filter, in QwebView or QwebPage... currently this is what I'm using: MainWindow::MainWindow() { centralWidget = new WebView(this); setCentralWidget(centralWidget); centralWidget->webView->installEventFilter(this); //No mouse events are rising on QWebPage //centralWidget->webView->page()->installEventFilter(this); } As its clear in the code above, when installing an EventFilter on QwebPage, I never receive any QMouseEvents, not by moving clicking or releasing any mouse buttons. While when setting it to filter events from QWebView it works fine. I am really interested with the first part of my question as to how handle Dom elements differently. How can I achieve such goal? The issue i am facing is if i have a filter on parent child dimension then drill through table does not show filtered data instead it shows all the data for that dimension.   Hey guys, i want to log some traces in my service. When i set initializeData to a location in the d: partition, i can write with no problems. When i set the initializeData to c:\, it doesn't write at all. Now i was wondering 2 things : 1) Does my service not have the rights to write to c:\ partition? 2) if i don't specify the partition, where does it write to? • Multi-dimensional array edge/border conditions

  Hi, I'm iterating over a 3 dimensional array (which is an image with 3 values for each pixel) to apply a 3x3 filter to each pixel as follows: //For each value on the image for (i=0;i<3*width*height;i++){ //For each filter value for (j=0;j<9;j++){ if (notOutsideEdgesCondition){ *(**(outArray)+i)+= *(**(pixelArray)+i-1+(j%3)) * (*(filter+j)); } } } I'm using pointer arithmetic because if I used array notation I'd have 4 loops and I'm trying to have the least possible number of loops. My problem is my notOutsideEdgesCondition is getting quite out of hands because I have to consider 8 border cases. I have the following handled conditions Left Column: ((i%width)==0) && (j%3==0) Right Column: ((i-1)%width ==0) && (i>1) && (j%3==2) Upper Row: (i<width) && (j<2) Lower Row: (i>(width*height-width)) && (j>5) and still have to consider the 4 corner cases which will have longer expressions. At this point I've stopped and asked myself if this is the best way to go because If I have a 5 line long conditional evaluation it'll not only be truly painful to debug but will slow the inner loop. That's why I come to you to ask if there's a known algorithm to handle this cases or if there's a better approach for my problem. Thanks a lot.

Should I add another argument to mention that first argument is CustomerId or SupplierId for example GetDummyData(int?, string). OR should I use enum as 2nd argument and mention that first argument is CustoemId or SupplierId. 2- Is this condition is correct or just checking 0 is sufficient - if (customerId != null && customerId 0) 3- Using Try/catch like this is correct? 4- Passing (int?)null is correct or any other better approach.   I have a tex2D sampler I want to only return precisely those colours that are present on my texture. In the event of a texel overlapping multiple colours, I want it to pick one and have the whole texel be that colour. I think to do this I want to disable mipmapping, or at least trilinear filtering of mips. sampler2D gColourmapSampler : register(s0) = sampler_state { Texture = <gColourmapTexture>; //Defined above MinFilter = None; //Controls sampling. MSDN has this to say; D3DSAMP_MAGFILTER: Magnification filter of type D3DTEXTUREFILTERTYPE D3DSAMP_MINFILTER: Minification filter of type D3DTEXTUREFILTERTYPE. D3DSAMP_MIPFILTER: Mipmap filter to use during minification. See D3DTEXTUREFILTERTYPE. D3DTEXF_NONE: When used with D3DSAMP_MIPFILTER, disables mipmapping.

• Losing URI segments when paginating with CodeIgniter

  I have a /payments interface where the user should be able to filter via price range, bank, and other stuff. Those filters are standard select boxes. When I submit the filter form, all the post data goes to another method called payments/search. That method performs the validation, saves the post values into a session flashdata and redirects the user back to /payments passing the flashdata name via URL. So my standard pagination links with no filters are exactly like this: payments/index/20/ payments/index/40/ payments/index/60/ And if you submit the filter form, the returning URL is: payments/index/0/b48c7cbd5489129a337b0a24f830fd93 This works just great. If I change the zero for something else, it paginates just fine. The only issue however is that the << 1 2 3 4 page links wont keep the hash after the pagination offset. CodeIgniter is generating the page links ignoring that additional uri segment. My uri_segment config is already set to 3: $config['uri_segment'] = 3; I cannot set the page offset to 4 because that hash may or may not exists. Any ideas of how can I solve this? Is it mandatory for CI to have the offset as the last segment in the uri? Maybe I am trying an incorrect approach, so I am all ears. Thank you folks.

• Speeding up inner-joins and subqueries while restricting row size and table membership

  I'm developing an rss feed reader that uses a bayesian filter to filter out boring blog posts. The Stream table is meant to act as a FIFO buffer from which the webapp will consume 'entries'. I use it to store the temporary relationship between entries, users and bayesian filter classifications. After a user marks an entry as read, it will be added to the metadata table (so that a user isn't presented with material they have already read), and deleted from the stream table. Every three minutes, a background process will repopulate the Stream table with new entries (i.e. whenever the daemon adds new entries after the checks the rss feeds for updates). Problem: The query I came up with is hella slow. More importantly, the Stream table only needs to hold one hundred unread entries at a time; it'll reduce duplication, make processing faster and give me some flexibility with how I display the entries. The query (takes about 9 seconds on 3600 items with no indexes): insert into stream(entry_id, user_id) select entries.id, subscriptions_users.user_id from entries inner join subscriptions_users on subscriptions_users.subscription_id = entries.subscription_id where subscriptions_users.user_id = 1 and entries.id not in (select entry_id from metadata where metadata.user_id = 1) and entries.id not in (select entry_id from stream where user_id = 1); The query explained: insert into stream all of the entries from a user's subscription list (subscriptions_users) that the user has not read (i.e. do not exist in metadata) and which do not already exist in the stream. Attempted solution: adding limit 100 to the end speeds up the query considerably, but upon repeated executions will keep on adding a different set of 100 entries that do not already exist in the table (with each successful query taking longer and longer). This is close but not quite what I wanted to do. Does anyone have any advice (nosql?) or know a more efficient way of composing the query?

  Using SQLalchemy I want to perform a left outer join and filter out rows that DO have a match in the joined table. I'm sending push notifications, so I have a Notification table. This means I also have a ExpiredDeviceId table to store device_ids that are no longer valid. • Mulit-dimensional array edge/border conditions

  Hi, I'm iterating over a 3 dimensional array (which is an image with 3 values for each pixel) to apply a 3x3 filter to each pixel as follows: //For each value on the image for (i=0;i<3*width*height;i++){ //For each filter value for (j=0;j<9;j++){ if (notOutsideEdgesCondition){ *(**(outArray)+i)+= *(**(pixelArray)+i-1+(j%3)) * (*(filter+j)); } } } I'm using pointer arithmetic because if I used array notation I'd have 4 loops and I'm trying to have the least possible number of loops. My problem is my notOutsideEdgesCondition is getting quite out of hands because I have to consider 8 border cases. I have the following handled conditions Left Column: ((i%width)==0) && (j%3==0) Right Column: ((i-1)%width ==0) && (i>1) && (j%3==2) Upper Row: (i<width) && (j<2) Lower Row: (i>(width*height-width)) && (j>5) and still have to consider the 4 corner cases which will have longer expressions. At this point I've stopped and asked myself if this is the best way to go because If I have a 5 line long conditional evaluation it'll not only be truly painful to debug but will slow the inner loop. That's why I come to you to ask if there's a known algorithm to handle this cases or if there's a better approach for my problem. Thanks a lot.

• PropertyPlaceholderConfigurer vs Filters -- Spring Beans

  Hi there. I've got a question regarding the difference between PropertyPlaceholderConfigurer (org.springframework.beans.factory.config.PropertyPlaceholderConfigurer) and normal filters defined in my pom.xml. I've been looking at examples, and it seems that even though filters are defined and marked to be active by default in the pom.xml they still make use of PropertyPlaceholderConfigurer in Spring's applicationContext.xml. This means that the pom.xml has a reference to a filter-LOCAL.properties while applicationContext.xml has a reference to application.properties and they both contain the same settings. Why is that? Is that how it is supposed to be done? I'm able to run the goal mvn jetty:run without the application.properties present, but if I add settings to the application.properties that differ from the filter-LOCAL.properties they don't seem to override. • C# Late Binding for Parameterized Property

  I'm trying to use late binding to connect to a COM automation API provided by a program called Amibroker, using a C# WinForms project. So far I've been able to connect to everything in the API except one item, which I believe to be a "parameterized property" based on extensive Googling. Here's what the API specification looks like according to the docs (Full version here: http://www.amibroker.com/guide/objects.html): Property Filter(ByVal nType As Integer, ByVal pszCategory As String) As Long [r/w] A javascript snippet to update the value looks like this: AB = new ActiveXObject("Broker.Application"); AA = AB.Analysis; AA.Filter( 0, "market" ) = 0; Using the following C# late-binding code, I can get the value of the property, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to set the value: object[] parameter = new object[2]; parameter[0] = Number; parameter[1] = Type; object filters = _analysis.GetType().InvokeMember("Filter", BindingFlags.GetProperty, null, _analysis, parameter); So far I have tried: using BindingFlags.SetProperty, BindingFlags.SetField casting the returned object to a PropertyInfo object and trying to update the value using it adding extra object containing the value to the parameters object various other things as last-ditch efforts From what I can see, this should be straight-forward, but I'm finding the late binding in C# to be cumbersome at best. The property looks like a method call to me, which is what is throwing me off. How does one assign a value to a method, and what would the prototype for late-binding C# code look like for it? • Cross-Platform Camera API

  Hi, I'm now building a video transforming filter that have to transform video frames in real-time. One of the key requirements of the filter is to have high performance to minimize the number of dropped frames during the transform. Another requirement that is of lower priority but also nice to have is to make it cross-platform (both PC's and Mobile devices). The application is built in C++. Now my question is: is there any API that is more portable and has a similar or better performance characteristics than DirectShow? as DirectShow's portability is only limited to Windows-based devices (PCs and Windows Mobile&CE platforms). Also I've notices that for example using HTC's custom camera API has far better performance than what DirectShow offers. If you want to check this, try to build a filter in DirectShow that will multiply each color by 2 and render that in real-time from camera on the screen. Then do the same with HTC's API. There is almost 4-5x performance boost with vendor's specific API. So it'd be very nice if the library used the device-specific implementation of the driver, as performance is critical when doing this transforms on a mobile device (which is about ~500 MHz).

• How do I relate two models/tables in Django based on non primary non unique keys?

  I've got two tables that I need to relate on a single field po_num. The data is imported from another source so while I have a little bit of control over what the tables look like but I can't change them too much. What I want to do is relate these two models so I can look up one from the other based on the po_num fields. What I really need to do is join the two tables so I can do a where on a count of the related table. I would like to do filter for all Order objects that have 0 related EDI856 objects. I tried adding a foreign key to the Order model and specified the db_column and to_fields as po_num but django didn't like that the fact that Edi856.po_num wasn't unique. Here are the important fields of my current models that let me display but not filter for the data that I want. class Edi856(models.Model): po_num = models.CharField(max_length=90, db_index=True ) class Order(models.Model): po_num = models.CharField(max_length=90, db_index=True) def in_edi(self): '''Has the edi been processed?''' return Edi856.objects.filter(po_num = self.po_num).count() Thanks for taking the time to read about my problem.
