• Blackberry Development, adding dynamic number of buttons and setting Fieldchangelistener() for them

  Hi, I am adding dynamic number of buttons in a Blackberry application and trying to get different events on each button click. I am not able to apply the setchangelistener() for these array of buttons as once the loop finishes after adding all the buttons, the events gets generated only for the last indexed button. If I make us of getIndex(), it runs fine only if I am not adding any other fields on my screen, but if I add other fields along with these array of buttons, the getIndex() function count them in the indexing as well. Can anyone please help me out in setting FieldChangeListener to array of ButtonField? Here is a sample code of the way I am using the array of ButtonField. • NSFetchRequest returns correct number of objects, but each object contains nil attributes

  Hi, I can't figure out why this is happening. I can add to the context. But when I retrieve the objects, it returns the correct number of objects but the attributes of the objects are null. • WPF performance for large number of elements on the screen

  Im currently trying to create a Scene in WPF where I have around 250 controls on my screen and the user can Pan and Zoom in and out of these controls using the mouse. I have run the WPF Performance Suite tools on the application when there are a large number of these controls on the screen (i.e. when the user has zoomed right out) the FPS drops down to around 15 which is not very good. • What to name column in database table that holds versioning number

  I'm trying to figure out what to call the column in my database table that holds an INT to specific "record version". I'm currently using "RecordOrder", but I don't like that, because people think higher=newer, but the way I'm using it, lower=newer (with "1" being the current record, "2" being the second most current, "3" older still, and so on). I've considered "RecordVersion", but I'm afraid that would have the same problem. Any other suggestions? "RecordAge"? I'm doing this because when I insert into the table, instead of having to find out what version is next, then run the risk of having that number stolen from me before I write, I just insert insert with a "RecordOrder" of 0. There's a trigger on the table AFTER INSERT that increments all the "RecordOrder" numbers for that key by 1, so the record I just inserted becomes "1", and all others are increased by 1. That way, you can get a person's current record by selection RecordOrder=1, instead of getting the MAX(RecordOrder) and then selecting that. PS - I'm also open to criticism about why this is a terrible idea and I should be incrementing this index instead. This just seemed to make lookups much easier, but if it's a bad idea, please enlighten me! Some details about the data, as an example: I have the following database table: CREATE TABLE AmountDue ( CustomerNumber INT, AmountDue DECIMAL(14,2), RecordOrder SMALLINT, RecordCreated DATETIME ) A subset of my data looks like this: CustomerNumber Amountdue RecordOrder RecordCreated 100 0 1 2009-12-19 05:10:10.123 100 10.05 2 2009-12-15 06:12:10.123 100 100.00 3 2009-12-14 14:19:10.123 101 5.00 1 2009-11-14 05:16:10.123 In this example, there are three rows for customer 100 - they owed $100, then $10.05, and now they owe nothing. Let me know if I need to clarify it some more. UPDATE: The "RecordOrder" and "RecordCreated" columns are not available to the user - they're only there for internal use, and to help figure out which is the current customer record. Also, I could use it to return an appropriately-ordered customer history, though I could just as easily do that with the date. I can accomplish the same thing as an incrementing "Record Version" with just the RecordCreated date, I suppose, but that removes the convenience of knowing that RecordOrder=1 is the current record, and I'm back to doing a sub-query with MAX or MIN on the DateTime to determine the most recent record.

  I have functions that I wish to call based on some input. Each function has different number of arguments. In other words, if (strcmp(str, "funcA") == 0) funcA(a, b, c); else if (strcmp(str, "funcB") == 0) funcB(d); else if (strcmp(str, "funcC") == 0) funcC(f, g); This is a bit bulky and hard to maintain. Ideally, these are variadic functions (e.g., printf-style) and can use varargs. But they are not. So exploiting the cdecl calling convention, I am stuffing the stack via a struct full of parameters. I'm wondering if there's a better way to do it. Note that this is strictly for in-house (e.g., simple tools, unit tests, etc.) and will not be used for any production code that might be subjected to malicious attacks.   I have this form on which I would like to create a dynamic number of dropdowns. I have a list of categorized applications which I would like each to have its own dropdown that submits data for each dropdown. The dropdown options will be the same for each. Here is my code. I am not sure how to pass the unique data to the server. • On saving a new record an associated id changes to 9 figure number

  Hi, I have a table of venues, with each venue belonging to an area and a type. I recently dropped the table and added to it some addressline fields. I have re-migrated it but now the area_id field saves as a random? 9 figure number. Both the area_id and venuetype_id integers are created in the same way from the create new form and the venuetype_id saves as normal but not the area_id.   What is the recommended way to change the first day of the week to Monday (instead of Sunday, as in the screenshot below)? I couldn't find anything related in Clock Preferences, nor in System - Preferences, or System - Administration. This probably has something to do with tweaking locales, so here's (possibly relevant) output from locale: LANG=en_US.utf8 LC_CTYPE="en_US.utf8" LC_NUMERIC="en_US.utf8" LC_TIME="en_US.utf8" ...   I am a newbie here, please let me know if I'm using wrong webmaster terms. I am currently setting up a VPS for a multi site WordPress. The VPS uses Debian 6 LNMP setup and the DNS is being taken care by another service. Currently the VPS is running non multi site WordPress with -+ 83 MB RAM out of 128MB. As far as I know the performance is relative to the number of request, not the number of sites in the multi site setup. The question How do I calculate maximum number of request in with that setup? If the information is not enough, what other factor do I need to know? Thank you in advance.

• Will there be an option in the GUI to change the week-starting day in 11.04?

  This has been problematic for me in Ubuntu since I live in the UK but want the week to start on a Sunday (because that is the system my work use). I've faffed about in the last couple of versions of Ubuntu to no avail (it changes in Evolution but not on the desktop calendar etc.) and don't want to be editing locale files. I understand it's probably an issue with GNOME so are there any plans to implement it with Unity? I find it baffling that an operating system doesn't have such a simple option that even my phones always seem to have had.

• Web based API that can tell me if a number is a landline or cell phone?

  My application sends SMS messages to people, but the numbers entered in as their cell phone are sometimes land lines (this is user error or the user not really knowing if the contact number they have is a cell phone or landline.) I found a few websites that can tell me if a number is a landline or cell phone, but they do not offer programatic API's. Is anyone aware of a way a web application can figure out if a number can receive SMS messages? I guess a test SMS message is one way, but my current SMS gateway fails hard when it gets a landline number and doesn't tell me the landline number it tried to send the SMS to. I'll follow this up with my carrier, but I would love an easy way to let the user entering phone numbers in if they are a landline or cell number. Update: There are ways to figure this out. Take a look at http://www.phonevalidator.com, they can query a phone number and figure out if it is a landline or cell phone.

  In OWA (Exchange Outlook) 2003 calendar, there was a week view, which was a simple list type view, showing the day, time, and details. In OWA 2010, this is gone and the week view shows a more graphical view with boxes spanning the time slots. It is very difficult to read when you have many appointments. Is there a way to get a list style view, or some way to customize the views in OWA 2010 so I can build one?

• ASP.net FFMPEG video conversion receiving error: "Error number -2 occurred"

  Hello, I am attempting to integrate FFMPEG into my asp.net website. The process I am trying to complete is to upload a video, check if it is .avi, .mov, or .wmv and then convert this video into an mp4 using x264 so my flash player can play it. I am using an http handler (ashx) file to handle my upload. This is where I am also putting my conversion code. I am not sure if this is the best place to put it, but I wanted to see if i could at least get it working. Additionally, I was able to complete the conversion manually through cmd line. The error -2 comes up when i output the standard error from the process I executed. • Pagination number elements do not work - jquery

  Hello, I am trying to get my pagination links to work. It seems when I click any of the pagination number links to go the next page, the new content does not load. literally nothing happens and when looking at the console in Firebug, nothing is sent or loaded. I have on the main page 3 links to filter the content and display it. When any of these links are clicked the results are loaded and displayed along with the associated pagination numbers for that specific content.
