  • Method to register method to be called when event is raised

    - by zaidwaqi
    I have a Panel which contains 20 PictureBox controls. If a user clicks on any of the controls, I want a method within the Panel to be called. How do I do this? public class MyPanel : Panel { public MyPanel() { for(int i = 0; i < 20; i++) { Controls.Add(new PictureBox()); } } // DOESN'T WORK. // function to register functions to be called if the pictureboxes are clicked. public void RegisterFunction( <function pointer> func ) { foreach ( Control c in Controls ) { c.Click += new EventHandler( func ); } } } How do I implement RegisterFunction()? Also, if there are cool C# features that can make the code more elegant, please share.

  • XMLHttpRequest.status always returning 0

    - by Michael
    html <a href="#" onclick="MyObj.startup()">click me</a> js code var MyObj = { startup : function() { var ajax = null; ajax = new XMLHttpRequest(); ajax.open('GET', 'http://www.nasa.gov', true); ajax.onreadystatechange = function(evt) { if(ajax.readyState == 4) { if (ajax.status == 200) { window.dump(":)\n"); } else { window.dump(":(\n"); } } } ajax.send(null); } } ajax.status always returning 0, no matter which site it is, no matter what is the actual return code. I say actual, because ajax.statusText returning correct value, eg OK or Redirecting... ajax.readyState also returns proper values and 4 at the end.

  • dynamically double image size

    - by Edan Duarte
    I have an embarrassingly simple question: How can I display an image at double its size without hard coding the width and height attributes? Here's what I tried, but I ended up having to just enter 1000 for width and height. Is something wrong with my function? Thanks! <img onload="double(self.id);" name="bigPic" id="bigPic" src="album1.jpg" height="1000" width="1000"/> function double(id) { var img = document.getElementById(id); var dblWdth = img.width * 2; var dblHt = img.height * 2; img.height = dblHt; img.width = dblWdth; }

  • [JQuery] Edit Css with animation effect

    - by Pennywise83
    Hi, I've a div in a absolute position with a default "top" value set to "-200px". When i click on the div the "top" value is updated to "0". In this way I see the entire Div. This is the js: $(document).ready(function(){ $("#search_bar").click(function () { $(this).css("top","0"); }); }); Is there a way to achieve this result but with an animation? For example, a slide down effect? Also, when i click another time to the div I'd like that the "top" value will be restored to "-200px".

  • Hide and Show content based on Cookie value

    - by danit
    Here is my Jquery: $("#tool").click(function() { $(".chelp").slideToggle(); $("wrapper").animate({ opacity: 1.0 },200).slideToggle(200, function() { $("#tool img").toggle(); }); }); When you click #tool img #wrapper is hidden along with .chelp. I need to control this with a cookie, so when the user hides #wrapper it remains hidden on all pages or when they re-visit the page. I know there is a jQuery Cookie plugin, but I'd like to do this with plain Javascript rather then including another plugin. Can anyone tell me how i can build in it in plain javascript and merge with the JQuery to create a cookie, then check the cookie each time the page loads to see if #wrapper should be hidden or displayed?

  • Setting Hyperlink to a Javascript Url (using the DataNavigateUrlFormatString property)

    - by Jangwenyi
    I have an issue where my Hyperlink field in Asp.net GridView is not accepting Javascript function that will open a popup dialog. I am using the following snippet <asp:GridView .... . . <asp:HyperLinkField DataTextField="SomeColumn" HeaderText="Some Column Text" SortExpression="SomeColumn" HeaderStyle-HorizontalAlign="Left" DataNavigateUrlFormatString="javascript:LaunchSomePopupdialog({0})" DataNavigateUrlFields="Id" ItemStyle-Font-Underline="true"> . . </asp:GridView> However, when I use a page url, it works: E.g. • How can I delete a row in the view only if the AJAX call & db deletion was successful?

    - by user1760663
    I have a table where each row has a button for deletion. Actually I delete the row everytime without checking if the ajax call was successfull. How can I achieve that, so that the row will only be deleted if the ajax call was ok. Here is my clickhandler on each row $("body").on('click', ".ui-icon-trash" ,function(){ var $closestTr = $(this).closest('tr'); // This will give the closest tr // If the class element is the child of tr deleteRowFromDB(oTable, closestTr); $closestTr.remove() ; // Will delete that }); And here my ajax call function deleteRowFromDB(oTable, sendallproperty){ var deleteEntryRoute = #{jsRoute @Application.deleteConfigurationEntry() /} console.log("route is: " + deleteEntryRoute.url) $.ajax({ url: deleteEntryRoute.url({id: sendallproperty}), type: deleteEntryRoute.method, data: 'id=' + sendallproperty });

  • what is the purpose of numeric/boolean/string objects as opposed to primitive values?

    - by zespri
    In javascript you can call a function as a function or as a constructor. For example you can do : myObject = new Number(13); myPrimitiveValue = Number(13); or simply myPrimitiveValue = 13; I understand the difference between the results. Can you explain me under which reasonable circumstances creating a number, a boolean or a string as an object is desirable? For example, ability to set new properties (this is something you can do on objects but can't really do on primitive values) is almost always a bad idea for objects containing number/boolean/string. Why would I want a numeric/boolean/string object?

  • Javascript opens new window despite no call

    - by Jimmy
    I have a javascript that opens a new window for "PreChecking" a site. The problem is when i click the button, it works fine... but wichever i button i press next makes the method fire again, despite i doesn't call it. Its just the button with id "lnkPrecheck" that should call the method. Have searched far and wide for a slolution that just opens a new window for the lnkPrecheck button, not the others on the site. THere must be a way for only 1 of 3 buttons makes the function call, not all of them! The code: <asp:Button OnClick="lnkPrecheck_Click" OnClientClick="NewWindow();" ID="lnkPrecheck" runat="server" text="Precheck (Opens in a new window)" /> function NewWindow() { document.forms[0].target = "_blank"; }

  • R: Change the fields' (slots') values of the class assigning a value to some other field

    - by Max Li
    Assgning a value to one field, how can I make the other fields changing. Consider the following R5 class C<-setRefClass("C", fields=list(a="numeric",b="numeric") , methods=list( seta = function(x){ a<<-x b<<-x+10 cat("The change took place!") } ) # end of the methods list ) # end of the class Now create the instance of the class c<-C$new() This command c$seta(10) will result in that c$a is 10 and c$b is 20. So it actually works, however, I want to achieve this result by the command c$a<-10 (i.e. after that I want c$b to be equal to 20 as defined in the class in the logic of seta() function) How can I do it?

  • How to trigger notification code TBN_TOOLBARCHANGE from inside c++ program?

    - by karikari
    Hi. How to trigger TBN_TOOLBARCHANGE from inside my c++ code? Is it the same as writing like this line below? SendMessage(m_hWndToolbar, TB_SETBUTTONINFO, m_buttonID, (LPARAM)(&inf)); Inside this project's code there is this line inside one the header file: BEGIN_MSG_MAP(CRebarHandler) NOTIFY_CODE_HANDLER(TBN_DROPDOWN, onNotifyDropDown) NOTIFY_CODE_HANDLER(TBN_TOOLBARCHANGE, onNotifyToolbarChange) NOTIFY_CODE_HANDLER(NM_CUSTOMDRAW, onNotifyCustomDraw) NOTIFY_CODE_HANDLER(TBN_ENDADJUST, onNotifyEndAdjust) MESSAGE_HANDLER(WM_SETREDRAW, onSetRedraw) END_MSG_MAP() It has already defined that for each TBN_TOOLBARCHANGE call, it will trigger the function onNotifyToolbarChange. For this example, it is triggered by IE. Inside my code, I need to trigger that particular function. And before that I need to trigger the TBN_TOOLBARCHANGE`. I just want to know how can it be done inside code, for example under a conditional statement.

    This is my method to handle XMLHTTPRequests. Avoids mysql request, foreign access, nerves user, double requests. jquery var allow=true; var is_loaded=""; $(document).ready(function(){ .... $(".xx").on("click",functio(){ if(allow){ allow=false; if(is_loaded!="that"){ $.post("job.php", {job:"that",word:"aaa",number:"123"},function(data){ $(".aaa").html(data); is_loaded="that"; }); } setTimeout(function(){allow=true},500); } .... }); job.php <?PHP ob_start('ob_gzhandler'); if(!isset($_SERVER['HTTP_X_REQUESTED_WITH']) or strtolower($_SERVER['HTTP_X_REQUESTED_WITH']) != 'xmlhttprequest')exit("bad boy!"); if($_POST['job']=="that"){ include "includes/that.inc; } elseif($_POST['job']== .... ob_end_flush(); ?> that.inc if(!preg_match("/\w/",$_POST['word'])exit("bad boy!"); if(!is_numeric($_POST['number'])exit("bad boy!"); //exclude more. $path="temp/that_".$row['word']."txt"; if(file_exists($path) and filemtime("includes/that.inc")<$filemtime($path)){ readfile($path); } else{ include "includes/openSql.inc"; $call=sql_query("SELECT * FROM that WHERE name='".mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['word'])."'"); if(!$call)exit("ups"); $out=""; while($row=mysql_fetch_assoc($call)){ $out.=$_POST['word']." loves the color ".$row['color'].".<br/>"; } echo $out; $fn=fopen($path,"wb"); fputs($fn,$out); fclose($fn); } if something change at the database, you just have to delete involved files. Hope it was English.

  • "Inlining" (kind of) functions at runtime in C

    - by fortran
    Hi, I was thinking about a typical problem that is very JIT-able, but hard to approach with raw C. The scenario is setting up a series of function pointers that are going to be "composed" (as in maths function composition) once at runtime and then called lots and lots of times. Doing it the obvious way involves many virtual calls, that are expensive, and if there are enough nested functions to fill the CPU branch prediction table completely, then the performance with drop considerably. In a language like Lisp, I could probably process the code and substitute the "virtual" call by the actual contents of the functions and then call compile to have an optimized version, but that seems very hacky and error prone to do in C, and using C is a requirement for this problem ;-) So, do you know if there's a standard, portable and safe way to achieve this in C? Cheers

  • Merging $.get and $.ready

    - by cwolves
    Put simply I have an ajax call that sometimes completes before the page is loaded, so I tried wrapping the callback in $( fn ), but the callback doesn't fire if the page is loaded... Anyone have a good solution to this? $.get( '/foo.json', function( data ){ $( function(){ // won't get here if page ready beats the ajax call // process data $( '.someDiv' ).append( someData ); } ); } ); And yes, I know that if I flipped the order of those it would always work, but then my ajax calls would be needlessly deferred until the document is ready.

  • Isotope active class when using select menu

    - by Michael
    I am using Metafizzy's Isotope plugin and have it set up to filter using a select menu as seen here: http://jsfiddle.net/trewknowledge/jJZEN/ $(function() { var $container = $('#container'), $select = $('#filters select'); $container.isotope({ itemSelector: '.item' }); $select.change(function() { var filters = $(this).val(); ; $container.isotope({ filter: filters }); }); });? What I am trying to figure out is how I would add a highlight/active class to the selected elements when the filters variable is already being used.

  • [jQuery] Get width of element after resizing it

    - by infinito
    Hello, Is it possible to get the size of an element after resizing it using $(el).css()? My code is: function resize() { $(".combobox").css('width', '100%'); var width = $(".combobox").width(); } I've get the real value of the combobox only after calling the function a second time. The first time is gets the width before executing $(".combobox").css('width', '100%'); I suppose this is fault of the DOM not being recreated after the .css(). Is there any way to force DOM reloading? Thanks in advance!
