    i am trying to make a 100 x 100 tridiagonal matrix with 2's going down the diagonal and -1's surrounding the 2's. i can make a tridiagonal matrix with only 1's in the three diagonals and preform matrix addition to get what i want, but i want to know if there is a way to customize the three diagonals to what ever you want. maplehelp doesn't list anything useful.

I've written a program that successfully retrieves the visited urls in a user's cache, using FindFirstUrlCacheEntry and FindNextUrlCacheEntry - but as I understand it this is not the same as the user's actual web history. In any case it does not seem to give correct results.

For HTML element transformations (removing unwanted elements), I can use http://htmlparser.sourceforge.net/ Is there anything comparable for CSS attributes?

  • Java: error handling with try-catch, empty-try-catch, dummy-return

    A searh uses recursively defined function that easily throws exceptions. I have tried 3 ways to handle exeptions: to ignore with an empty-try-catch() add-dummy-return stop err-propagation due to exeption throw a specific except. (this part I don't really understand. If I throw except, can I force it to continue elsewhere, not continuing the old except-thrown-path?) Some exceptions I do not realy care like during execution removed files -exception (NullPointer) but some I really do like unknown things. Possible exceptions: // 1. if a temp-file or some other file removed during execution -> except. // 2. if no permiss. -> except. // 3. ? --> except. The code is Very import for the whole program. I earlier added clittered-checks, try-catches, avoided-empty-try-catches but it really blurred the logic. Some stoned result here would make the code later much easier to maintain. It was annoying to track random exeptions due to some random temp-file removal! How would you handle exceptions for the critical part?     I installed a plugin for Eclipse called Django Editor. I can't figure out how to use it. The editor is not in my list of editors so I cannot do "Open with Django Editor" on a file nor associate a file extension with it. It appears nowhere in my preferences. How can I activate this editor? I am running Mac OS X 10.5.8 and Eclipse 3.5.2 Galileo.

  • VSTS test deployment and invalid assembly culture

    I have a DLL that I'm testing, which links to a DLL that has what I think is an invalid value for AssemblyCulture. The value is "Neutral" (notice the upper-case "N"), whereas the DLL I'm testing, and every other DLL in my project, has a value of "neutral" (because they specify AssemblyCulture("")). When I try to deploy the DLL that links to the problem DLL, I get this error in VSTS: Failed to queue test run '...': Culture is not supported. Is there a way to skip deploying the dependencies of a DLL DeploymentItem, to fix or disable the culture check, or to work around this by convoluted means (maybe somehow embed the assembly)? Is there a way to override the value for the culture, short of hacking the DLL (and removing code signing so the hack works)? Maybe with an external manifest? Any correct solution must work without weird changes to production code. We can't deploy a hacked DLL, for example. It also must allow the DLL to be instrumented for code coverage. Additional note: I do get a linker warning when compiling the DLL under test that links to the problem DLL, but this hasn't broken anything but VSTS, and multiple versions have shipped.

    I have the following object: public class MyClass { public int Id { get; set;} public string Name { get; set; } } I'm wanting to serialize this to the following xml string: <MyClass> <Id>1</Id> <Name>My Name</Name> </MyClass> Unfortunately, when I use the XMLSerializer I get a string which looks like: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <MyClass xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"> <Id>1</Id> <Name>My Name</Name> </MyClass> I'm not wanting MyClass to be the root element the document, rather I'm eventually wanting to add the string with other similar serialized objects which will be within a larger xml document. i.e. Eventually I'll have a xml string which looks like this: <Classes> <MyClass> <Id>1</Id> <Name>My Name</Name> </MyClass> <MyClass> <Id>1</Id> <Name>My Name</Name> </MyClass> </Classes>" My first thought was to create a class as follows: public class Classes { public List<MyClass> MyClasses { get; set; } } ...but that just addes an additional node called MyClasses to wrap the list of MyClass.... My gut feeling is that I'm approaching this the wrong way and that my lack of experience with creating xml files isn't helping to point me to some part of the .NET framework or some other library that simplifies this.

The routine send_message( msgstr, from_addr, *to_addrs ) works well in my code for sending email, but it is not clear from this API how to send email to a list of people that need to be blind copied (bcc:). Am I missing something, or is it just not possible with Net::SMTP?

    I'm trying to parse the output from a tool into a data structure but I'm having some difficulty getting things right. The file looks like this: Fruits Apple Auxiliary Core Extras Banana Something Coconut Vegetables Eggplant Rutabaga You can see that top-level items are indented by one space, and items beneath that are indented by two spaces for each level. The items are also in alphabetical order. How do I turn the file into a Python list that's something like ["Fruits", "Fruits/Apple", "Fruits/Banana", ..., "Vegetables", "Vegetables/Eggplant", "Vegetables/Rutabaga"]?

  • IIS 7, loads blank screen

    I've just setup an application under the default web site installed by IIS 7. I've tried loading both http://localhost and http://localhost/myappname in both cases, all I am getting is a blank page, no errors. And although directory browsing is enabled, I can't even see a list of the files in that directory. Any ideas why this is? Thanks in advance...
