    Hi guys: I am trying to stop the windows XP timer, and actually I did it. The problem is that I want to do it using another way, not the one used before: running a visual basic script. I need to stop it using a knoppix, or a floppy disk... maybe any other way that I don't know it. Please, how to stop the timer without using a simple script? I am sorry about my English.

    I want to do a performance measurement of my application and would like to be able to configure the stats for specific module like (enable for specific module and disable for some) and I want to measure things like memory usage, threads, average band width etc.. Can any one suggest something please, I am new to this. I think Visual VM is good but it doesnot support configuring for different modules. Does Perf4j or Admin4j work here? any one has used these before?

    I am a beginner in jQuery and I was wondering how to validate the form before submission specifically for check boxes. I am creating a simple check list form where my user would tick a check box if he finished that step. What I am planning to do is that, the script would prevent the form submission if there is an "unticked" checkbox and highlight it with a color.   • Is there a way to have element behind a div (links) clickable in areas where the div is "transparent

    I have a block element that is positioned absolutely and some other elements on page that are positioned fixed. The effect is the block on top floats over the page which works well. The links in the elements at the bottom underneath are not clickable. They shouldn't be when the content of the div is over them, but when the "marginal" areas which are transparent are over the links they are visible, but clicks only register to the covering div. The problem only happens when the padding covers the div. But if I just rely on the margin the bottom margin is ignored by browser so the scroll doesn't go high enough up. To solve this I resort to padding at the bottom. This is the problem. Is there a clean way around this? I realize I could have the underneath elements doubled and place on top, but opacity set to 0. That is an undesirable solution however.   • How to make c# form mirrored?

    Hello, I have some text in a web browser on my form in visual studio, this form is going to be displayed on a big screen and it's content need to be mirrored(flipped) in order to be seen on the other place through mirror. It is not rotation actually. I know it is possible to do it with images, but it is not applicable in my case, because browser's document is scrolling. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

  • Should i use a C function or Obj-C Method?

    I'm about to create a function which adds to NSDateComponents together is there any advantage to putting this in a C style function or should it go in a Obj-C method? Is there ever a reason to use one rather then the other or should I always stick to Obj-C? BTW: Not that it makes any difference I'm sure but this is for an app on the iPhone Many thanks

  • BYTE typedef in VC++ and windows.h

    Hi, I am using Visual C++, and I am trying to include a file that uses BYTE (as well as DOUBLE, LPCONTEXT...) , which by default is not a defined type. If I include windows.h, it works fine, but windows.h also defines GetClassName wich I don't need. I am looking for an alternative to windows.h include, that would work with VC++ and would define most of the types like BYTE, DOUBLE ... Thanks

    This questions concerns mostly Unix/Linux style C++ development. I see that many C++ libraries store their header files in a "include" folder and source files in an "src" folder. For the sake of conformance I adopted this in my own code. But it is not clear to me whether this should be done for application code as well. I've seen a few cases where a flat directory structure is used for that. What would be the recommended approach?
