  • Android Context.bindService always returns false and ServiceConnection object is never triggered

    I have followed the Local Service example provided by Google, but my Context::bindService(...) always returns false and there is ServiceConnection::onServiceConnected is also never called. I understand that Context::bindService() returns immediately, but my ServiceConnection object is never triggered. I don't know if these apply My activity is running inside a tabHost and I was wondering if that can affect service binding in any way. The Service itself may have a problem, but I can call start service to the same service with the same Intent and it works as expected. Does anyone have experience with this? Please help me out.   • Hibernate, EHCache, Read-Write cache, adding item to a list

    Hi all, I have an entity that has a collection in it. The collection is a OneToMany unidirectional relationship storing who viewed a particular file. The problem I am having is that after I load the entity and try to update the collection, I don't get any errors, but the collection is never updated: Entity: @OneToMany(cascade = CascadeType.PERSIST) @JoinTable protected List<User> users; File Servlet @In private EntityQuery<File> File_findById; ... File file = File_findById(fileId); file.getUsers().add(user); session.update(file); Even though I call session.update(file) and I see stuff in hibernate logs, I don't see anything in the database indicating that it was saved.     Hello everyone, I have used a JDialog to display a form ( I could have used JFrame, but I have my reasons). There is an event in my application that will cause a function to generate and display the said JDialog. Now, I want to know if the user has closed that JDialog. How do I find this out? P.S. My defaultCloseOperation is JDialog.DISPOSE_ON_CLOSE.

  • How can I load file into web app through certain periods?

    Hi all! I have next task: I need to load the same file into my web app several times, for example - twice a day! Suppose in that file I have information, that changes, and I need to load this info into my app to change the statistics for example. How can I load file several times (twice an hour, or twice a day)? What should I use? Is any algorithm to do that? I am not allowed to use external libraries like Quartz Scheduler. So I need to do it with Thread and/or Timer. Can anybody give me some example or algorithm how to do it. Where can I create the entry point to my Thread, can I do it in managed bean or I need some sort of filter/listener/servlet. I works with jsf and richFaces. Maybe in this technologies there are some algorithms to solve my problem. Any ideas? Thanks very much for help!

    Hello! I have 1 activity and 1 class that extends MapActivity(Lokacija). I added MapActivity to manifest, this line and my build configuration is set to Google API. I want to launch the mapactivity with the press of a button as usually: final Intent i = new Intent(); intent.setClass(getApplicationContext(), Lokacija.class); startactivity(i);ode here When i click on a button, I get android runtime exception (no activity found to handle intent). I has to be something with class extending MapActivity, but i don't know what. Any suggestions?

  • EJB3 with Spring

    I have understood that if I use EJB in Spring context, I get all the same benefits as if I was using it in "pure" EJB3 environment, is this true? I have googled but can't find a definitive, clear answer. For example, let's say I have a session bean that updates some tables in the database and it throws a System Exception. In "pure" EJB3 environment the transaction is rolled back. What if I for example @Autowire this bean using Spring, does Spring take care of the transaction handling same way as does the EJB3 container? Or what? Does it maybe require some specific configuration or is it fully "automatic"?

    I am trying to parse a date that looks like this: 2010-04-05T17:16:00Z This is a valid date per http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc3339.txt. The 'Z' literal "imply that UTC is the preferred reference point for the specified time." If I try to parse it using SimpleDateFormat and this pattern: yyyy-MM-dd'T'HH:mm:ss It will be parsed as a Mon Apr 05 17:16:00 EDT 2010 SimpleDateFormat is unable to parse the string with these patterns: yyyy-MM-dd'T'HH:mm:ssz yyyy-MM-dd'T'HH:mm:ssZ I can explicitly set the TimeZone to use on the SimpleDateFormat to get the expected output, but I don't think that should be necessary. Is there something I am missing? Is there an alternative date parser?

  • Placing figure in top-right corner of another

    I want child figure (org.eclipse.draw2d.Figure) to be relative to the top-right corner of the parent (I want place some small icon, which will be ImageFigure, to be 12 pixels from top and right borders). Is there an existing layout manager that can layout child this way? The org.eclipse.draw2d.XYLayout is not capable of measuring position relative to corner other than top-left. Of course, I can: Write layout manager myself Layout children figure every time bounds are changed for the parent (in parent layout() method). However, I would like to know if some existing layout manager provides that functionality.

    Hi All. We use jalopy to format our code to the sun standard (well 99%). I have 1 issue with it. It keeps moving comments to the right of the line. E.g // Panel "JPanel.border", new LazyValue(packageName + "PanelBorder"), //frozen // Button "Button.background", new ColorUIResource(251, 251, 251), //frozen "Button.foreground", new ColorUIResource(0, 0, 0), //frozen But jalopy always moves the // Button to the far right. // Panel "JPanel.border", new LazyValue(packageName + "PanelBorder"), //frozen // Button "Button.background", new ColorUIResource(251, 251, 251), //frozen "Button.foreground", new ColorUIResource(0, 0, 0), //frozen Is there any way to stop this?     I'm trying to integrate Spring 3.0.5 with Jersey 1.4. I seem to have everything working, but whenever I try and return a Viewable that points to a JSP, I get a 404 error. When I wasn't using spring I could use this filter: <filter> <filter-name>Jersey Filter</filter-name> <filter-class>com.sun.jersey.spi.container.servlet.ServletContainer</filter-class> <init-param> <param-name>com.sun.jersey.config.feature.Redirect</param-name> <param-value>true</param-value> </init-param> <init-param> <param-name>com.sun.jersey.config.property.packages</param-name> <param-value>cheetah.frontend.controllers</param-value> </init-param> <init-param> <param-name>com.sun.jersey.config.feature.FilterForwardOn404</param-name> <param-value>true</param-value> </init-param> <init-param> <param-name>com.sun.jersey.config.property.WebPageContentRegex</param-name> <param-value>/(images|css|jsp)/.*</param-value> </init-param> </filter> And I could return a Viewable to any JSP's, image, css that were stored in the appropriate folder. However, now that I have to use the SpringServlet to get spring integration, I'm at a loss for how to access resources, since I can't use the filter above.     I've been using the Maven EAR plugin for creating my ear files for a new project. I noticed in the plugin documentation you can specify exclude statements for modules. Is anyone aware of a more elegant solution?

  • How do I read the manifest file for a webapp running in apache tomcat?

    I have a webapp which contains a manifest file, in which I write the current version of my application during an ant build task. The manifest file is created correctly, but when I try to read it in during runtime, I get some strange side-effects. My code for reading in the manifest is something like this: InputStream manifestStream = Thread.currentThread() .getContextClassLoader() .getResourceAsStream("META-INFFFF/MANIFEST.MF"); try { Manifest manifest = new Manifest(manifestStream); Attributes attributes = manifest.getMainAttributes(); String impVersion = attributes.getValue("Implementation-Version"); mVersionString = impVersion; } catch(IOException ex) { logger.warn("Error while reading version: " + ex.getMessage()); } When I attach eclipse to tomcat, I see that the above code works, but it seems to get a different manifest file than the one I expected, which I can tell because the ant version and build timestamp are both different. Then, I put "META-INFFFF" in there, and the above code still works! This means that I'm reading some other manifest, not mine. I also tried this.getClass().getClassLoader().getResourceAsStream(...) But the result was the same. What's the proper way to read the manifest file from inside of a webapp running in tomcat? Edit: Thanks for the suggestions so far. Also, I should note that I am running tomcat standalone; I launch it from the command line, and then attach to the running instance in Eclipse's debugger. That shouldn't make a difference, should it?

If I comment out the i.putExtra("crop", "true"): Logcat does not give me the null pointer exception, and I am able to do what I want with the image. So, what is the problem here?     I have a field in a form to state the time duration of an event. Say, the event is to last 15 mins. So the field will have the following value: 00:15 If it is to last 1 hour: 01:00, etc. How can I create a Joda Duration object with the string "HH:MM"? Looking at Joda Time home page, it mentions that it is possible to create a Duration object from specified object using ConverterManager and DurationConverter respectively. My question is, how can I implement the above interfaces so that I can create a Duration object by passing the a "4:30" parameter? Thanks in advance, Lucas

    I'm writing an unit test for spring jdbc dao. The problem is the rowmapper in the test is different from the rowmapper in the DAO. So the expectation is not met. I tried to put with around the sql query and with(any(RowMapper.class)) for the rowmapper. It wouldn't work either, complains about "not all parameters were given explicit matchers: either all parameters must be specified by matchers or all must be specified by values, you cannot mix matchers and values"
