  • What are the standard practices for throwing JavasScript Exceptions?

    - by T.R.
    w3schools says that exceptions can be strings, integers, booleans, or objects, but the example given doesn't strike me as good practice, since exception type checking is done through string comparison. Is this the preferred method of exception handling in JavaScript? Are there built-in exception types (like NullPointerException)? (if so, what are they, what kind of inheritance do they use, and are they preferred over other options?)

  • empty() doesn't work with codeigniter input class

    - by BabyAzerty
    This is really weird. Whenever I call something like if(empty($this->input->post("foo")){//blabla} The whole PHP is "down" and I get a blank page from the website (even when I don't pass through this empty(input) line). I know this is not the right method and it is stupid, I change the code to if(!$this->input->post("foo")){//blabla} Better I guess ? Seriously, how come the empty(input) breaks down the entire PHP page ? (I can't get any echo "something").

    - by DonnieKun
    Hi, If I have a 2 GB ram and I have an 2 instances of an Object which is 1.5 GB each, the operating system will help and context switch the pages to and from harddisk. What if I have 1 instances but is 3 GB. Can the same paging method breakdown this instances into 2 pages? Or will I encounter out-of-memory issue? Thanks.

  • Reduce Triangle in DirectX 9

    - by Himadri
    Hello everyone, I have a 3D object with about 2000 or 3000 triangles. I want to reduce the number of triangle without affecting shape of object. for eg, I have two triangles, (1,1.5,2) (1.5,1.5,2) (1.7,2,2) (1.5,1.5,2) (1.7,2,2) (2,1.5,2) In this case these two triangle is same as a single triangle - (1,1.5,2) (2,1.5,2) (1.7,2,2) I dont want the manual method, But if there is any direct function or such thing which will reduce my triangle list. Thank You.

  • Mocking ISession.Query<T>() for testing consumer

    - by TheCloudlessSky
    I'm trying to avoid using an in memory database for testing (though I might have to do this if the following is impossible). I'm using NHibernate 3.0 with LINQ. I'd like to be able to mock session.Query<T>() to return some dummy values but I can't since it's an extension method and these are pretty much impossible to test. Does anyone have any suggestions (other than using an in memory database) for testing session queries with LINQ?

  • C++ shared objets

    - by Klaus
    Hello, I have got four classes A, B, C and D. Class A has a member b of class B. Class B has a member c of class C. A has a member D* dpointer; This hierarchy has to be preserved (in fact this is a GUI with app, window, panel as A, B and C). Now B and C must use a method from *dpointer. Is there something more elegant than giving dpointer as a member of B and C ?

  • jquery.ajax returns content-type "html" on iis while it returns content-type "json" on local host

    - by Sridhar
    Hi, I am using jQuery.ajax function to make an ajax call to a page method in asp.net. I specifically set the content-type to "application/json; charset=utf-8". When I looked at the response in the firebug it says the content-type is html.
