  • Checking variable from a different class in C#

    Greetings- I have 2 classes. One is called "Programs" and the other is called "Logs". The class called Programs has public const string m_sEnviron = ""; near the top and I need to check what the m_sEnviron variable is set to through my class called Logs. The variable m_sEnviron will get set from a scheduler called Tidal so how can I check its value from a different class.   • Is it possible to make a TListView search by the caption of a different column in Delphi?

    Hi, When you set the Caption of a TListItem it seems to always set the Text for the first column in the row. When you start typing in the ListView it will search & select the closest match based on the caption of the first column. I have a situation where I need the caption of the first row to be empty, but still need the search functionality to work as normal (in this case the data I would be searching for may be in the 2nd/3rd column). Is this possible without using any 3rd party controls?

Hibernate generates for Course: @OneToMany(fetch = FetchType.LAZY, mappedBy = "course", cascade = CascadeType.ALL) public Set getSubCourses() { return this.subCourses; } for Subcourse it generates @ManyToOne(fetch = FetchType.LAZY) @JoinColumn(name = "course_id", nullable = false) public Course getCourse() { return this.course; } Now the problem is that cascading does not work as expected. I want to create a collection of SubCourse objects (Set), fill it and then bind it to setSubCourses() of Course object. Though, having ManyToOne thing in a Subcourses table, I need to manually setCourse() before adding to collection on each object. If I do not do so, an exception is raised. What can you recommend me?

I have two buttons. One button when clicked should let the player jump. The other should make the enemy hit something. When clicked, each button has to correspond to the class function in the parameters. I'm not sure how to set it up though.

    My vendor offers a widget creation service where I can login to their page, set initial values of a search form, after the save button is clicked, I can copy & paste the script code on my website to display a product search result widget. I am thinking to change this static widget to a dynamic one. Since my programming knowledge is limited, can experts tell me if it's possible to login https remotely (using cURL) and set search form values equal to values on my page (every time my page content changes, it will change the form value), then save the form. So the widget script I pasted on my page will always be refreshed to new search result. So the issue will involve cross domain, form submission & server/browser communication. I know a little jQuery, PHP, Ajax, cURL but so far I stuck with just having an idea but not really sure how to implement it.

    I'm trying to a single value in my DB...When I run it through the console, it works correctly (as I'm replacing the variables with numbers and text).. However, My query is not running correctly. It's just prompting a syntax error Here is what I have: "UPDATE books SET readstatus='".$readstatus."' WHERE book_id=".$book_id; This won't work, I also tried doing something like this as I'm told this makes it a bit more secure? : "UPDATE books SET readstatus='{$readstatus}', WHERE read_id='{read_id}'"; This does not prompt any errors, but no change is happeneing to the value in the DB, I'm guessing the syntax is incorrect.

  • Output Caching - why doesn't it seem to do the job?

    Hi, I have quite a big user control which creates an ASP.NET tab menu and within each tab a lengthy set of icons/menus. The menu is dynamically created from the database. I thought I could wrap the user control with an output cache directive to speed things up. I set OutputCache varybyparam="none" and duration to 120 seconds. When I navigate to my page, the usercontrol containing the tab menus and icons etc just vanishes? I thought ASP.NET was supposed to deliver some HTML that would previously have been cached. So why isn't this working? It doesn't seem to do what the label says on the tin?!? ;)

    Some very very strange behaviour was appearing in my Android application. I was extending Button to replace the standard. In my own button I set: - TextAppearence (text 16px, bold..) - BackgroundDrawable (to an selector that replaced the standard button, that used images of 60px) - Gravity: LEFT|CENTER_VERTICAL. Whenever the text was enough to make the button have 2 text lines, if it had the property Gravity.CENTER_VERTICAL, a top padding would appear! This kept me overflowing and googling for weeks... (set paddingTop, singleLine, and other simple solutions didn't work of course!) Finally got the solution!!! @Override protected boolean setFrame(int l, int t, int r, int b) { int fixedTopSize = 5; return super.setFrame(l,fixedTopSize, r, b-t); } By overriding this method on the extended Button finally i got it to work without the irritating top padding... still i don't understand why this happens. Any ideia?

I want to clarify the question a little because based on the answers I think I did not describe one aspect of the problem correctly (and I'm sure that's my fault as I was having a difficult time defining it even for myself). Here's the rub: The result set should contain ONLY the records with tstamp BETWEEN '2010-01-03' AND '2010-01-09', AND the one record where the tstamp IS NULL for each order_num in the first set (there will always be one with null tstamp for each order_num). The answers given so far appear to include all records for a certain order_num if there are any with tstamp BETWEEN '2010-01-03' AND '2010-01-09'. For example, if there were another record with order_num = 2 and tstamp = 2010-01-12 00:00:00 it should not be included in the result. Original question: Consider an orders table containing id (unique), order_num, tstamp (a timestamp), and item_id (the single item included in an order). tstamp is null, unless the order has been modified, in which case there is another record with identical order_num and tstamp then contains the timestamp of when the change occurred.   • CSS: Is it possible to have a 3-column layout with BOTH the left column and center column flexibly filling the space?

    It is possible to use position:absolute and left and right on the middle column to set where it ends in relation to the parent div. However I'd like to be able to have the left side of the center div to start right where the left column ends, and for the left column to be adjustable (based on its content). This seems like a really basic thing but from what I understand there is no way to do this without flexboxes. Is this true? Is there nothing I could do with clever nesting of semantically superfluous elements and certain styles set to auto?

  • Possible to make jqGrid stretch to 100%?

    Is it possible to make it so that a jqGrid will have a width set to 100%? I understand that column widths must be an absolute pixel size, but I've yet to find anything for setting the width of the actual grid to a relative size. For instance, I want to set the width to 100%. Instead of 100% it seems to use an odd size of 450px. There is more horizontal room on the page, but with the columns width and such, it will make the container(of only the grid) horizontally scroll. Is there some way around this?

  • Can't connect to SSL web service with WS-Security using PHP SOAP extension - certificate, complex WSDL

    Using the PHP5 SOAP extension I have been unable to connect to a web service having an https endpoint, with client certificate and using WS-Security, although I can connect using soapUI with the exact same wsdl and client certificate, and obtain the normal response to the request. There is no HTTP authentication and no proxy is involved. The message I get is 'Could not connect to host'. Have been able to verify that I am NOT hitting the host server. (Earlier I wrongly said that I was hitting the server.) The self-signed client SSL certificate is a .pem file converted by openssl from a .p12 keystore which in turn was converted by keytool from a .jks keystore having a single entry consisting of private key and client certificate. In soapUI I did not need to supply a server private certificate, the only two files I gave it were the wdsl and pem. I did have to supply the pem and its passphrase to be able to connect. I am speculating that despite the error message my problem might actually be in the formation of the XML request rather than the SSL connection itself. The wsdl I have been given has nested complex types. The php server is on my Windows XP laptop with IIS. The code, data values and WSDL extracts are shown below. (The WSSoapClient class simply extends SoapClient, adding a WS-Security Username Token header with mustUnderstand = true and including a nonce, both of which the soapUI call had required.) Would so much appreciate any help. I'm a newbie thrown in at the deep end, and how! Have done vast amounts of Googling on this over many days, following many suggestions and have read Pro PHP by Kevin McArthur. An attempt to use classmaps in place of nested arrays also fell flat.   • creating a contact listener with sprites from different classes

    I've been trying to set a contact listener that creates a joint on contact between two sprites which have their own individual classes. Both sprites are inheriting from NSObject and their are initialized in their parentlayer (init method of HelloWorldLayer.mm). It is quite straightforward when everything is in the same class, but in a case like this where sprites have their own classes how will it be done. Please Help, I've been at it for days.
