  • HttpRequestValidationexception on Asp.Net MVC

    - by elranu
I’m getting an HttpRequestValidationexception with this error message: “A potentially dangerous Request.Form value was detected from the client”. But I have AllowHtml on the property that I’m getting the error. The problem is that later in my code I’m getting the following property to know in witch format I will show my view ControllerContext.HttpContext.Request.Params.AllKeys.Contains("format"). And on this “Param Getter” I’m getting the error. Let’s say my code is similar to the following: public class House { [AllowHtml] public string Text { get; set; } public string Name { get; set; } } [HttpPost, ValidateAntiForgeryToken] public ActionResult CreateTopic(House h) { //business code if(ControllerContext.HttpContext.Request.Params.AllKeys.Contains("format")) { Return view; } } How can I solve this? I already try with the ValidateInput(false) attribute on the controller action method. Any idea?

  • JPA character encoding

    - by wheelie
Hi there, I have a Java Web application using GlassFish 3, JSF2.0 (facelets) and JPA (EclipseLink) on MySQL (URL: jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/administer). The problem I'm facing is that if I'm saving entities to the database with the update() method, String data loses integrity; '?' is shown instead of some characters. The server, pages and database is/are configured to use UTF-8. After I post form data, the next page shows the data correctly. Furthermore it "seems" in debug that the String property of the current entity stores the correct value too. Dunno if NetBeans debug can be trusted; might be that it decodes correctly, however it's incorrect. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance! Daniel

  • mysql and .net: when using tableadapters I'm getting MySqlException "insert command denied for user"

    - by Deveti Putnik
Hi! I am using mysql as db for my asp.net application. Here are the facts: I am using connection string from web.config which has both username and password. I can do SELECT with tableadapter. When I am trying to do INSERT with tableadapter, I am getting "mysqlexception insert command denied for user" error When I try to do INSERT programatically, i.e. using connection, command object, etc. everything is fine. In this case, I'm reading connection string from web.config, too. This can be only applied to GoDaddy hosting, but on local machine I don't have this kind of problems. Can anyone suggest what can I do to make it work on GoDaddy hosting? Regards, D

  • Return/consume dynamic anonymous type across assembly boundaries

    - by friism
    The code below works great. If the Get and Use methods are in different assemblies, the code fails with a RuntimeBinderException. This is because the .Net runtime system only guarantees commonality of anonymous types (<string, int> in this case) within assemblies. Is there any way to fool the runtime system to overcome this? I can expect the object in the debugger on the Use side, and the debugger can see the relevant properties. class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { UsePerson(); Console.ReadLine(); } public static void UsePerson() { var person = GetPerson(); Console.WriteLine(person.Name); } public static dynamic GetPerson() { return new { Name = "Foo", Age = 30 }; } }

  • Using Container.DataItem with an If statement within <% %>

    - by William Calleja
I have the following code in a c# aspx page: <ItemTemplate> <a <% if(((Dictionary<string, string>)Container.DataItem)["type"]==Session["type"]){%> class="active"<%}%> This code is causing the following error. Compiler Error Message: CS0117: 'System.ComponentModel.Container' does not contain a definition for 'DataItem' Why is that and how can I make a conditional statement that uses the Container.DataItem? Container.DataItem works perfectly when used within a <%# %> however putting the if statement within the <%# %> causes the following error: Compiler Error Message: CS1518: Expected class, delegate, enum, interface, or struct

  • Syntax to change the value of a cached object property

    - by Craig
In an ASP.NET 3.5 VB web app, I successfully manage to cache an object containing several personal details such as name, address, etc. One of the items is CreditNum which I'd like to change in the cache on the fly. Is there a way to access this directly in the cache or do I have to destroy and rebuild the whole object just to change the value of objMemberDetails.CreditNum? The cache is set using: Public Shared Sub CacheSet(ByVal key As String, ByVal value As Object) Dim userID As String = HttpContext.Current.User.Identity.Name HttpContext.Current.Cache(key & "_" & userID) = value End Sub

  • [C#, Regex] EOL Special Char not matching

    - by Aurélien Ribon
    Hello, I am trying to find every "a - b, c, d" pattern in an input string. The pattern I am using is the following : "^[ \t]*(\\w+)[ \t]*->[ \t]*(\\w+)(,[ \t]*\\w+)*$" The input is : a -> b b -> c c -> d The function is : private void ParseAndBuildGraph(String input) { MatchCollection mc = Regex.Matches(input, "^[ \t]*(\\w+)[ \t]*->[ \t]*(\\w+)(,[ \t]*\\w+)*$", RegexOptions.Multiline); foreach (Match m in mc) { Debug.WriteLine(m.Value); } } The output is : c -> d Actually, there is a problem with the line ending "$" special char. If I insert a "\r" before "$", it works, but I thought "$" would match any line termination (with the Multiline option), especially a \r\n in a Windows environment. Is it not the case ?

  • c# HTTPListener encoding issue

    - by Rob Griffin
I have a Java application sending HTTP requests to a C# application. The C# app uses HTTPListener to listen for requests and respond. On the Java side I'm encoding the URL using UTF-8. When I send a \ character it gets encoded as %5C as expected but on the C# side it becomes a / character. The encoding for the request object is Windows-1252 which I think may be causing the problem. How do I set the default encoding to UTF-8? Currently I'm doing this to convert the encoding: foreach (string key in request.QueryString.Keys) { if (key != null) { byte[] sourceBytes =request.ContentEncoding.GetBytes(request.QueryString[key]); string value = Encoding.UTF8.GetString(sourceBytes)); } } This handles the non ASCII characters I'm also sending but doesn't fix the slash problem. Examining request.QueryString[key] in the debugger shows that the / is already there.

  • HQL query for entity with max value

    - by Rob
I have a Hibernate entity that looks like this (accessors ommitted for brevity): @Entity @Table(name="FeatureList_Version") @SecondaryTable(name="FeatureList", pkJoinColumns=@PrimaryKeyJoinColumn(name="FeatureList_Key")) public class FeatureList implements Serializable { @Id @Column(name="FeatureList_Version_Key") private String key; @Column(name="Name",table="FeatureList") private String name; @Column(name="VERSION") private Integer version; } I want to craft an HQL query that retrieves the most up to date version of a FeatureList. The following query sort of works: Select f.name, max(f.version) from FeatureList f group by f.name The trouble is that won't populate the key field, which I need to contain the key of the record with the highest version number for the given FeatureList. If I add f.key in the select it won't work because it's not in the group by or an aggregate and if I put it in the group by the whole thing stops working and it just gives me every version as a separate entity. So, can anybody help?

  • Need help using the Windows IP Helper API & ParseNetworString in C#.

    - by JohnnyNoir
I'm attempting to rewrite some C# web service code that uses the Windows IP Helper API call "SendARP" to retreive a remote system's MAC address. SendARP works great - until you cross a network segment as Arp requests aren't routed. I've been looking at the "ParseNetworkString" documentation after happening across its existance on StackOverflow. The quick & dirty algorithm I have in mind is: public static string GetMacAddress(string strHostOrIP) { if (strHostOrIP is IPAddress) { parse results of nbstat -A strHostOrIP return macAddress } if (strHostOrIP is Hostname) { IPHostEntry hostEntry = null; try { hostEntry = Dns.GetHostEntry(strHostOrIP); } catch { return null; } if (hostEntry.AddressList.Length == 0) { return null; } foreach (IPAddress ip in hostEntry.AddressList) { if (ip.AddressFamily == System.Net.Sockets.AddressFamily.InterNetwork) { ipAddress = ip; break; } } } return GetMACAddress(ipAddress); } "ParseNetworkString" is new with Vista/Win2008 so I haven't been able to find example C# code demonstrating its use and I'm no C++ coder so if anyone can point me in the right direction...

  • Different positions in ViewPager

    - by Kalai Selvan.G
    In my Application am using ViewPager to swipe the images,which comes through webservice as URL. Everything goes smoothly,the problem is while swiping myself getting the position as collapsed one.. Swipe left-right: positions are 1,2,3,4,5,etc.. if i stops swiping at 5th pos and started to Swipe from right-left: positions are 2,1...why this happens? I need to catch the position of the imageURL to find out the ID of the specific image and so i need to download and set it as wallpaper.. Normally while we swipe from right-left,the positions should decrease like 4,3,2,1. Also in debugger mode i got some start position,end position,last position with different values.. Any Clue about ViewPager. Here is my code: public class ImagePagerActivity extends BaseActivity { private ViewPager pager; private DisplayImageOptions options; public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.ac_image_pager); Bundle bundle = getIntent().getExtras(); String[] imageUrls = bundle.getStringArray(Extra.IMAGES); int pagerPosition = bundle.getInt(Extra.IMAGE_POSITION, 0); options = new DisplayImageOptions.Builder() .showImageForEmptyUrl(R.drawable.image_for_empty_url) .cacheOnDisc() .decodingType(DecodingType.MEMORY_SAVING) .build(); pager = (ViewPager) findViewById(R.id.pager); pager.setAdapter(new ImagePagerAdapter(imageUrls)); pager.setCurrentItem(pagerPosition); } private class ImagePagerAdapter extends PagerAdapter { private String[] images; private LayoutInflater inflater; ImagePagerAdapter(String[] images) { this.images = images; inflater = getLayoutInflater(); } @Override public void destroyItem(View container, int position, Object object) { ((ViewPager) container).removeView((View) object); } @Override public void finishUpdate(View container) { } @Override public int getCount() { return images.length; } @Override public Object instantiateItem(View view, int position) { final FrameLayout imageLayout = (FrameLayout) inflater.inflate(R.layout.item_pager_image, null); final ImageView imageView = (ImageView) imageLayout.findViewById(R.id.image); final ProgressBar spinner = (ProgressBar) imageLayout.findViewById(R.id.loading); imageLoader.displayImage(images[position], imageView, options, new ImageLoadingListener() { public void onLoadingStarted() { spinner.setVisibility(View.VISIBLE); } public void onLoadingFailed() { spinner.setVisibility(View.GONE); imageView.setImageResource(android.R.drawable.ic_delete); } public void onLoadingComplete() { spinner.setVisibility(View.GONE); } }); ((ViewPager) view).addView(imageLayout, 0); return imageLayout; } @Override public boolean isViewFromObject(View view, Object object) { return view.equals(object); } @Override public void restoreState(Parcelable state, ClassLoader loader) { } @Override public Parcelable saveState() { return null; } @Override public void startUpdate(View container) { } } }

  • Converting rich text that contains backslashes to plain text or html

    - by Allison
I am trying to convert a rich text string to plain text or html. I am currently using the RichTextBox.Text feature which works correctly for almost all cases except when the text contains backslashes then some of the text is stripped out as the converter believes that it is part of the rtf formatting. Does anyone have any ideas of how to get the backslashes to stay in that instance. Here is an example of a string I would have {\rtf1\ansi\ansicpg1252\deff0\deflang1033{\fonttbl{\f0\fnil\fcharset0 Arial;}}\viewkind4\uc1\pard\fs17 Testing Export \with comments\par} The text I would need would be "Testing Export \with comments" and the text I am getting back from the rtf converter is "Testing Export comments". Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please respond if you have further questions.

  • how subsonic SP should return a value

    - by android.sm
Hi all, I'm very much new to SubSonic and need a little guidance. Here, I want to know how my SP should return a value. Currently, when I execute it I simply pass an Int and it returns me a string value. Here is code: SubSonic SP: public static StoredProcedure GetQuote(int? CategoryId) { StoredProcedure sp = new StoredProcedure("GetQuote", DataService.GetInstance("Quotes Provider"), "dbo"); sp.Command.AddParameter("@CategoryId", CategoryId, DbType.Int32, 0, 10); return sp; } My Code: public bool GetQuote(int category, out string quote) { bool val = false; quote = ""; try { StoredProcedure sp = SPs.GetQuote(category); if (sp != null) { sp.Execute(); val = true; } } catch (Exception err) { throw err; } return val; } Thanks all

  • DataTable C# Empty column type

    - by Dested
I am trying build a DataTable one row at a time using the following code. foreach (var e in Project.ProjectElements[hi.FakeName].Root.Elements()) { index = 0; object[] obj=new object[count]; foreach (var holdingColumn in names) { string d = e.Attribute(holdingColumn.Key).Value; obj[index++] = d; } dt.Rows.Add(obj); } The problem is the DataTable has types tied to the columns. Sometimes im passing null (or an empty string) in that object index and it is telling me that it cant be converted properly to a DateTime (in this case). My question is what should I default this value to, or is there some way to have the DataTable ignore empty values.

  • Encrypt/Decrypt SQLite-database and use it "on the fly"

    - by Berschi
Here's the thing: In my Qt4.6-Project, I use a SQLite-Database. This database shouldn't be unencrypted on my harddrive. So I want, that on every start of my program, the user gets asked to enter a password to decrypt the database. Of course the database never should appear "in clear" (not encrypted) on my harddrive. So is there any possibility to decrypt a SQLite-database "on the fly" and read and write data? What algorithm is here the best (maybe AES)? When it's not possible (or very slow), maybe it's better to encrypt every string in the database and decrypt the string when the password was right (so that a user could open the database, but has no clue what all the entrys could mean)?

  • Base64 Android encode to PHP decode make error

    - by studio lambda

So, when I try to encode an image file into Base64 like this : InputStream fileInputStream = context.getContentResolver().openInputStream(uri); BufferedInputStream in = new BufferedInputStream(fileInputStream); StringWriter out = new StringWriter(); int b; while ((b = in.read()) != -1) out.write(b); out.flush(); out.close(); in.close(); String encoded = new String(android.util.Base64.encode(out.toString() .getBytes(), android.util.Base64.DEFAULT)); On server side, I make : $data=base64_decode(chunk_split($base64BinaryData)); The result is that my image file is corrupted! INFO : the image is made by an Intent to android.provider.MediaStore.ACTION_IMAGE_CAPTURE Activity in Emulator mode (avd 5554) I've already read lots of discussions about similar problem but nothing fix my bug. thanks for help Regards,

  • Is POSTing a Dictionary to an .NET MVC action possible?

    - by Brenton Alker
I have a form which contains a series of fields like: <input type="text" name="User[123]" value="Alice" /> <input type="text" name="User[456]" value="Bob" /> ... Where the index of the User array (123 and 456) are ID's associated with the value. I'm trying to update these values in the controller. My thinking is that a Dictionary that maps ID to name would work, but creating the action like: public void Save(Dictionary<string, string> user) { // ... } results in the user parameter being null. So, is passing a Dictionary possible? or, is there another method to achieve this?

  • Bind multiple request parameters to one object in Spring 3

    - by Max
Hi, I can't figure out a way to bind several arguments and headers to one request parameter using annotations in Spring 3. For example, let's say I'm getting this request: Headers: Content-type: text/plain; POST Body: Name: Max Now I want it all to mysteriously bind to this object: class NameInfo { String name; } Using some code like this: String getName() { if ("text/plain".equals(headers.get("content-type"))) { return body.get("name"); } else if ("xml".equals(headers.get("content-type")) { return parseXml(body).get("name"); } else ... } So that in the end I would be able to use: @RequestMapping(method = RequestMethod.POST) void processName(@RequestAttribute NameInfo name) { ... } Is there a way to achieve something similar to what I need? Thanks in advance.

  • Which types use a FileNameEditor in a PropertyGrid?

    - by Wolfgang
I need to change the editor for a property attached to a .net PropertyGrid, but I cannot set the Editor attribute of that property, because the property was generated by a tool, including all attributes. The desired editor is System.Windows.Forms.Design.FileNameEditor I can find many tutorials on the web to assign this editor to string properties by setting the editor attribute, but I cannot set the editor attribute in this case. However, I can advise the code generation tool to behave such that the string property which I want to be edited with the FileNameEditor becomes converted to another property with different type. In order to do so, I would need to know which type is edited by the FileNameEditor as default. I didn't find any list on the web which would tell me for a given editor which types employ this editor automatically when displayed in a PropertyGrid.

[MetadataType(typeof(TestMetaData))] public class Test { public string Prop { get; set; } internal class TestMetaData { [Required] public string Prop { get; set; } } } [Test] [ExpectedException(typeof(ValidationException))] public void TestIt() { var invalidObject = new Test(); var context = new ValidationContext(invalidObject, null, null); context.MemberName = "Prop"; Validator.ValidateProperty(invalidObject.Prop, context); } The test fails. If I ditch the metadata class and just decorated the property on the actual class it works fine. WTH am I doing wrong? This is putting me on the verge of insanity. Please help.

  • Constructor Injection and when to use a Service Locator

    - by Simon
I'm struggling to understand parts of StructureMap's usage. In particular, in the documentation a statement is made regarding a common anti-pattern, the use of StructureMap as a Service Locator only instead of constructor injection (code samples straight from Structuremap documentation): public ShippingScreenPresenter() { _service = ObjectFactory.GetInstance<IShippingService>(); _repository = ObjectFactory.GetInstance<IRepository>(); } instead of: public ShippingScreenPresenter(IShippingService service, IRepository repository) { _service = service; _repository = repository; } This is fine for a very short object graph, but when dealing with objects many levels deep, does this imply that you should pass down all the dependencies required by the deeper objects right from the top? Surely this breaks encapsulation and exposes too much information about the implementation of deeper objects. Let's say I'm using the Active Record pattern, so my record needs access to a data repository to be able to save and load itself. If this record is loaded inside an object, does that object call ObjectFactory.CreateInstance() and pass it into the active record's constructor? What if that object is inside another object. Does it take the IRepository in as its own parameter from further up? That would expose to the parent object the fact that we're access the data repository at this point, something the outer object probably shouldn't know. public class OuterClass { public OuterClass(IRepository repository) { // Why should I know that ThingThatNeedsRecord needs a repository? // that smells like exposed implementation to me, especially since // ThingThatNeedsRecord doesn't use the repo itself, but passes it // to the record. // Also where do I create repository? Have to instantiate it somewhere // up the chain of objects ThingThatNeedsRecord thing = new ThingThatNeedsRecord(repository); thing.GetAnswer("question"); } } public class ThingThatNeedsRecord { public ThingThatNeedsRecord(IRepository repository) { this.repository = repository; } public string GetAnswer(string someParam) { // create activeRecord(s) and process, returning some result // part of which contains: ActiveRecord record = new ActiveRecord(repository, key); } private IRepository repository; } public class ActiveRecord { public ActiveRecord(IRepository repository) { this.repository = repository; } public ActiveRecord(IRepository repository, int primaryKey); { this.repositry = repository; Load(primaryKey); } public void Save(); private void Load(int primaryKey) { this.primaryKey = primaryKey; // access the database via the repository and set someData } private IRepository repository; private int primaryKey; private string someData; } Any thoughts would be appreciated. Simon
