• Can't remove first node in linked list

  I'm trying to make a linked list class in python (pointless I know, but it's a learning exercise), and the method I have written to remove a node doesn't work if I try to remove the first element of the linked list. If the node to be removed is anywhere else in the linked list the method works fine. Can someone give me some insight as to where I've gone wrong? • Pre loaded database on iPhone?

  Hi, I have recently developed an app using core data as the storage db. The app allowed the user to read and write to the db. I am now developing a new app which the user doesnt need to write anything to the db, instead the app just needs to read the data. The data has relationships etc so cannot just use a plist or something similar. My question is should I use core data for such a requirement and if so how would i go about entering the data and then releasing the app. Would I have to code the data entry which would populate the db then remove all this code (as I dont want the database to repopulate every time the user opens the app)?? Is there a way to create a core data model using sql commands as with sqlite ie insert into..... etc? Any ideas/thoughts would be very helpful. Many thanks Jules

  Consider the 16-Bit data packet below, which is sent through the network in network byte order ie Big Endian: 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 (Byte num) 34 67 89 45 90 AB FF 23 65 37 56 C6 56 B7 00 00 (Value) Lets say 8945 is a 16 bit value. All others are 8 bit data bytes. On my system, which is little endian, how would the data be received and stored? Lets say, we are configured to receive 8 bytes at a time. RxBuff is the Rx buffer where data will be received. Buff is the storage buffer where data would be stored. Please point out which case is correct for data storage after reading 8 bytes at a time: 1) Buff[] = {0x34, 0x67, 0x45, 0x89, 0x90, 0xAB....... 0x00}; 2) Buff[] = {0x00, 0x00, .......0x67, 0x89, 0x45, 0x34}; Would the whole 16 bytes data be reversed or only the 2 bytes value contained in this packet?

  Hi I started building apps with this technology and I am facing a weird problem... on some machines I need to add theese lines to the app.config to get to work: <system.data> <DbProviderFactories> <add name="MySQL Data Provider" invariant="MySql.Data.MySqlClient" description=".Net Framework Data Provider for MySQL" type="MySql.Data.MySqlClient.MySqlClientFactory, MySql.Data, Version=6.3.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=c5687fc88969c44d" /> </DbProviderFactories> </system.data> while in other machines it runs well without theese lines.... the thing is that when I add theese lines the app wont run on machines that did not needed theese lines in the firs place, and I would like not to publish to versions of the app, is there a way to solve this?

• How do I declare a constructor for an 'object' class type in Scala? I.e., a one time operation for the singleton.

  I know that objects are treated pretty much like singletons in scala. However, I have been unable to find an elegant way to specify default behavior on initial instantiation. I can accomplish this by just putting code into the body of the object declaration but this seems overly hacky. Using an apply doesn't really work because it can be called multiple times and doesn't really make sense for this use case. Any ideas on how to do this?

  Hi, Could some one possibly clarify this for me. In the MVC paradigm, the idea is to keep the controller as thin as possible, it is also true that the model is the bit that communicates with data sources such as the database, XML-RPC etc and this is where the business logic should go. Is the POST and GET data a 'data source' and should that kind of data be handled by the model or should it be by the controller. I would normally call a method in the model and pass it the post data, the data would be quality checked by the controller and the model method would simply do the insertion or whatever. Should it be though that controller just calls the model method if a post has occured and it is responsible for sanity check, data checks etc.

  Lets have 2 repositories, one containing the actual data repo and a bare repository which is loaded with deltas from the actual data repository by doing a git push from data repo to bare repo. Hope you have understood the model that am using here. Am creating clones by cloning the bare repo, and i will be pushing from the branches in my local clone to the branches in bare repository. When am pushing data from my branch to bare repo, the data is automatically synced to the data repo by a hook. The question i have - is there a way to find from which branch a code has come to the bare repo. I can see the source and target branch during a git push, but after pushing can i see from logs or other way to identify from which branch and repository the data has been pushed from? If there are 5 developers pushing to bare repo, can i find in the bare repo from which branch and clone a code is pushed?

  I have an array where the order of the objects is important for when I finally output the array in a document. However, I'm also sorting the array in a function to find the highest value. • Installing a clean Python 2.6 on SuSE (SLES) 11 using system-wide libraries

  Hi, I've spent most of the day on this, and it is driving me absolutely insane. On all other Unixes I've used, this is a walk in the park, but SLES 11 has me dumbfounded. I need to build Zope on SLES 11 64 bit: Linux <name> 2.6.27.45-0.1-default #1 SMP 2010-02-22 16:49:47 +0100 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux I first tried to just use the YaST-installed Python 2.6. I've also installed python-devel, libjpeg-devel, readline-devel, libopenssl-devel, libz2-devel, zlib-devel, and libgcrypt-devel. The global python2.6 has a lot of cruft in it, and seems to execute stuff in /etc/pythonstart when I use it, which doesn't help. Nope: ksh: cd: /exports/users - Resource temporarily unavailable # cd /exports/192.168.15.100/host/users ksh: cd: /exports/192.168.15.100/host/users - Resource temporarily unavailable A search in google doesn't help too much - it seems that automounting NFS with OpenBSD is not something that is usually done. Other than this, information is fairly sparse. I can, of course, always mount is permanently, but I tend to be a bit anal on convention, so no for now. :) Some direction would be appreciation. Curious enough, OpenBSD mounts defaults to version 3, so I am not sure why it would start with version in amd. What would be the correct options to pass?
