In the following code i am using a listview and populating it with a string array. But how to change it to checkedtextview? delete.xml: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:paddingTop="4dip" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:orientation="horizontal" android:id="@+id/linlay0" android:background="@color/list_bg"> <TextView android:id="@+id/TextView00" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:background="#D8D8D8" android:textColor="#424242" android:gravity="center_horizontal|center_vertical" android:textSize="20px" android:height="40px" android:textStyle="bold" /> <ListView android:id="@+id/ListView01" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" /> </LinearLayout> delete_lv.xml: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:gravity="center_vertical" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent"> <TextView android:id="@+id/list_content" android:textColor="#222222" android:gravity="center" android:text="sample" android:layout_margin="4dip" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" /> </LinearLayout> Delete.java: public class Delete extends Activity { ListView lv1; ArrayAdapter<String> adapter1; private String lv_items[] = { "Android", "iPhone", "BlackBerry", "AndroidPeople", "J2ME", "Listview", "ArrayAdapter", "ListItem", "Us", "UK", "India" }; @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.delete); TextView tv0 = (TextView)findViewById(R.id.TextView00); tv0.setText("Deletes"); lv1 = (ListView) findViewById(R.id.ListView01); adapter1 = new ArrayAdapter<String>(Delete.this,R.layout.list_black_text,R.id.list_content, lv_items); lv1.setAdapter(adapter1); adapter1.notifyDataSetChanged(); } }

  • Marshalling a big-endian byte collection into a struct in order to pull out values

    - by Pat
    There is an insightful question about reading a C/C++ data structure in C# from a byte array, but I cannot get the code to work for my collection of big-endian (network byte order) bytes. (EDIT: Note that my real struct has more than just one field.) Is there a way to marshal the bytes into a big-endian version of the structure and then pull out the values in the endianness of the framework (that of the host, which is usually little-endian)? This should summarize what I'm looking for (LE=LittleEndian, BE=BigEndian): void Main() { var leBytes = new byte[] {1, 0}; var beBytes = new byte[] {0, 1}; Foo fooLe = ByteArrayToStructure<Foo>(leBytes); Foo fooBe = ByteArrayToStructureBigEndian<Foo>(beBytes); Assert.AreEqual(fooLe, fooBe); } [StructLayout(LayoutKind.Explicit, Size=2)] public struct Foo { [FieldOffset(0)] public ushort firstUshort; } T ByteArrayToStructure<T>(byte[] bytes) where T: struct { GCHandle handle = GCHandle.Alloc(bytes, GCHandleType.Pinned); T stuff = (T)Marshal.PtrToStructure(handle.AddrOfPinnedObject(),typeof(T)); handle.Free(); return stuff; } T ByteArrayToStructureBigEndian<T>(byte[] bytes) where T: struct { ??? }

  • .NET: How do I know if I have an unmanaged resource?

    - by Shiftbit
    I've read that unmanaged resource are considered file handles, streams, anything low level. Does MSDN or any other source explain how to recognize an unmanaged resource? I can't seem to find any examples on the net that show unmanaged code, all the examples just have comments that say unmanaged code here. Can someone perhaps provide a realworld example where I would handle an unmanaged resources in an IDispose interface? I provided the IDisposable interface for your convience. How do I identify an unmanaged resource? Thanks in advance! IDisposable Reference Public Class Sample : Implements IDisposable Private disposedValue As Boolean = False 'To detect redundant calls ' IDisposable Protected Overridable Sub Dispose(ByVal disposing As Boolean) If Not Me.disposedValue Then If disposing Then ' TODO: free other state (managed objects). End If ' TODO: free your own state (unmanaged objects). ' TODO: set large fields to null. End If Me.disposedValue = True End Sub ' This code added by Visual Basic to correctly implement the disposable pattern. Public Sub Dispose() Implements IDisposable.Dispose ' Do not change this code. • Java 1.4 singleton containing a mutable field

    - by Philippe
    Hi, I'm working on a legacy Java 1.4 project, and I have a factory that instantiates a csv file parser as a singleton. In my csv file parser, however, I have a HashSet that will store objects created from each line of my CSV file. All that will be used by a web application, and users will be uploading CSV files, possibly concurrently. Now my question is : what is the best way to prevent my list of objects to be modified by 2 users ? So far, I'm doing the following : final class MyParser { private File csvFile = null; private static Set myObjects = Collections.synchronizedSet(new HashSet); public synchronized void setFile(File file) { this.csvFile = file; } public void parse() FileReader fr = null; try { fr = new FileReader(csvFile); synchronized(myObjects) { myObjects.clear(); while(...) { // foreach line of my CSV, create a "MyObject" myObjects.add(new MyObject(...)); } } } catch (Exception e) { //... } } } Should I leave the lock only on the myObjects Set, or should I declare the whole parse() method as synchronized ? Also, how should I synchronize - both - the setting of the csvFile and the parsing ? I feel like my actual design is broken because threads could modify the csv file several times while a possibly long parse process is running. I hope I'm being clear enough, because myself am a bit confused on those multi-synchronization issues. Thanks ;-)

  • Populating JavaScript Array from JSP List

    - by tkeE2036
    Ok so perhaps someone can help me with a problem I'm trying to solve. Essentially I have a JSP page which gets a list of Country objects (from the method referenceData() from a Spring Portlet SimpleFormController, not entirely relevant but just mentioning in case it is). Each Country object has a Set of province objects and each province and country have a name field: public class Country { private String name; private Set<Province> provinces; //Getters and setters } public class Province { private String name; //Getters and setters } Now I have two drop down menus in my JSP for countries and provinces and I want to filter the provinces by country. I've been following this tutorial/guide to make a chain select in JavaScript. Now I need a dynamic way to create the JavaScript array from my content. And before anyone mentions AJAX this is out of the question since our project uses portlets and we'd like to stay away from using frameworks like DWR or creating a servlet. Here is the JavaScript/JSP I have so far but it is not populating the Array with anything: var countries = new Array(); <c:forEach items="${countryList}" var="country" varStatus="status"> countries[status.index] = new Array(); countries[status.index]['country'] = ${country.name}; countries[status.index]['provinces'] = [ <c:forEach items="${country.provinces}" var="province" varStatus="provinceStatus"> '${province.name}' <c:if test="${!provinceStatus.last}"> , </c:if> </c:forEach> ]; </c:forEach> Does anyone know how to create an JavaScript array in JSP in the case above or what the 'best-practice' would be considered in this case? Thanks in advance!

  • Use Math class to calculate

    - by LC
    Write a JAVA program that calculates the surface area of a cylinder, C= 2( p r2) + 2 p r h, where r is the radius and h is the height of the cylinder. Allow the user to enter in a radius and a height. Format the output to three decimal places. Use the constant PI and the method pow() from the Math class. This is what I've done so far but it can not run. Can anyone help me ? import Java.util Scanner; public class Ex5 { public static void main (String[] args) { Scanner input.new Scanner(System.in); double radius,height,area; System.out.print("Please enter the radius of the Cylinder"); radius = input.nextDouble(); System.out.print("Please enter the height of the Cylinder"); height = input.nextDouble(); area = (4*Math.PI*radius)+2*Math.PIMath.POW(radius,2); System.out.println("The surface of the cylinder" + area); } }

  • GridViewColumn not subscribing to PropertyChanged event in a ListView

    - by Chris Wenham
    I have a ListView with a GridView that's bound to the properties of a class that implements INotifyPropertyChanged, like this: <ListView Name="SubscriptionView" Grid.Column="0" Grid.ColumnSpan="2" Grid.Row="2" ItemsSource="{Binding Path=Subscriptions}"> <ListView.View> <GridView> <GridViewColumn Width="24" CellTemplate="{StaticResource IncludeSubscriptionTemplate}"/> <GridViewColumn Width="150" DisplayMemberBinding="{Binding Path=Name}" Header="Subscription"/> <GridViewColumn Width="75" DisplayMemberBinding="{Binding Path=RecordsWritten}" Header="Records"/> <GridViewColumn Width="Auto" CellTemplate="{StaticResource FilenameTemplate}"/> </GridView> </ListView.View> </ListView> The class looks like this: public class Subscription : INotifyPropertyChanged { public int RecordsWritten { get { return _records; } set { _records = value; if (PropertyChanged != null) PropertyChanged(this, new PropertyChangedEventArgs("RecordsWritten")); } } private int _records; ... } So I fire up a BackgroundWorker and start writing records, updating the RecordsWritten property and expecting the value to change in the UI, but it doesn't. In fact, the value of PropertyChanged on the Subscription objects is null. This is a puzzler, because I thought WPF is supposed to subscribe to the PropertyChanged event of data objects that implement INotifyPropertyChanged. Am I doing something wrong here?

  • NoSuchMethodError in Java using XStream

    - by Brad Germain
    I'm trying to save a database into a file using XStream and then open it again later using XStream and deserialize it back into the objects it was in previously. The database consists of an arraylist of tables, which consists of an arraylist of a data class where the data class contains an arraylist of objects. I'm basically trying to create an sql compiler. I'm currently getting a java.lang.NoSuchMethodError because of the last line in the load method. Here's what I have: Save Method public void save(Database DB){ File file = new File(DB.getName().toUpperCase() + ".xml"); //Test sample DB.createTable("TBL1(character(a));"); DB.tables.getTable("TBL1").rows.add(new DataList()); DB.tables.getTable("TBL1").rows.getRow(0).add(10); XStream xstream = new XStream(); //Database xstream.alias("Database", Database.class); //Tables xstream.alias("Table", Table.class); //Rows xstream.alias("Row", DataList.class); //Data //xstream.alias("Data", Object.class); //String xml = xstream.toXML(DB); Writer writer = null; try { writer = new FileWriter(file); writer.write(xstream.toXML(DB)); writer.close(); } catch (IOException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } } Load Method public void Load(String dbName){ XStream xstream = new XStream(); BufferedReader br; StringBuffer buff = null; try { br = new BufferedReader(new FileReader(dbName + ".xml")); buff = new StringBuffer(); String line; while((line = br.readLine()) != null){ buff.append(line); } } catch (FileNotFoundException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } catch (IOException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } database = (Database)xstream.fromXML(buff.toString()); }

  • How to use Object.GetHashCode() on a type that overrides GetHashCode()

    - by Jimmy
    Hi, I have a class A that implements IEquatable<, using its fields (say, A.b and A.c) for implementing/overriding Equals() and overriding GetHashCode(), and everything works fine, 99% of the time. Class A is part of a hierarchy (class B, C) that all inherit from interface D; they can all be stored together in a dictionary Dictionary, thus it's convenient when they all carry their own default Equals()/GetHashCode(). However, while constructing A I sometime need to do some work to get the values for A.b and A.c; while that's happening, I want to store a reference to the instance that's being built. In that case, I don't want to use the default Equals()/GetHashCode() overrides provided by A. Thus, I was thinking of implementing a ReferenceEqualityComparer, that's meant to force the use of Object's Equals()/GetHashCode(): private class ReferenceEqualityComparer<T> : IEqualityComparer<T> { #region IEqualityComparer<T> Members public bool Equals(T x, T y) { return System.Object.ReferenceEquals(x, y); } public int GetHashCode(T obj) { // what goes here? I want to do something like System.Object.GetHashCode(obj); } #endregion } The question is, since A overrides Object.GetHashCode(), how can I (outside of A) call Object.GetHashCode() for an instance of A? One way of course would be for A to not implement IEquatable< and always supply an IEqualityComparer< to any dictionary that I create, but I'm hoping for a different answer. Thanks

  • Blackberry read local properties file in project

    - by Dachmt
    Hi, I have a config.properties file at the root of my blackberry project (same place as Blackberry_App_Descriptor.xml file), and I try to access the file to read and write into it. See below my class: public class Configuration { private String file; private String fileName; public Configuration(String pathToFile) { this.fileName = pathToFile; try { // Try to load the file and read it System.out.println("---------- Start to read the file"); file = readFile(fileName); System.out.println("---------- Property file:"); System.out.println(file); } catch (Exception e) { System.out.println("---------- Error reading file"); System.out.println(e.getMessage()); } } /** * Read a file and return it in a String * @param fName * @return */ private String readFile(String fName) { String properties = null; try { System.out.println("---------- Opening the file"); //to actually retrieve the resource prefix the name of the file with a "/" InputStream is = this.getClass().getResourceAsStream(fName); //we now have an input stream. Create a reader and read out //each character in the stream. System.out.println("---------- Input stream"); InputStreamReader isr = new InputStreamReader(is); char c; System.out.println("---------- Append string now"); while ((c = (char)isr.read()) != -1) { properties += c; } } catch (Exception e) { } return properties; } } I call my class constructor like this: Configuration config = new Configuration("/config.properties"); So in my class, "file" should have all the content of the config.properties file, and the fileName should have this value "/config.properties". But the "name" is null because the file cannot be found... I know this is the path of the file which should be different, but I don't know what i can change... The class is in the package com.mycompany.blackberry.utils Thank you!

  • How can i inject servletcontext in spring

    - by M.R.
    I need to write a junit test for a rather complex application which runs in a tomcat. I wrote a class which builds up my spring context. private static ApplicationContext springContext = null; springContext = new ClassPathXmlApplicationContext( new String[] {"beans"....}); In the application there is a call: public class myClass implements ServletContextAware { .... final String folder = servletContext.getRealPath("/example"); ... } which breaks everything, because the ServletContext is null. I have started to build a mock object: static ServletConfig servletConfigMock = createMock(ServletConfig.class); static ServletContext servletContextMock = createMock(ServletContext.class); @BeforeClass public static void setUpBeforeClass() throws Exception { expect(servletConfigMock.getServletContext()).andReturn(servletContextMock).anyTimes(); expect(servletContextMock.getRealPath("/example")).andReturn("...fulllpath").anyTimes(); replay(servletConfigMock); replay(servletContextMock); } Is there a simple methode to inject the ServletContext or to start the tomcat with a deployment descriptor at the runtime of the junit test? I am using: spring, maven, tomcat 6 and easymock for the mock objects.

  • How do you unit test a method containing a LINQ expression?

    - by Phil.Wheeler
    I'm struggling to get my head around how to accommodate a mocked method that only accepts a Linq expression as its argument. Specifically, the repository I'm using has a First() method that looks like this: public T First(Expression<Func<T, bool>> expression) { return All().Where(expression).FirstOrDefault(); } The difficulty I'm encountering is with my MSpec tests, where I'm (probably incorrectly) trying to mock that call: public abstract class with_userprofile_repository { protected static Mock<IRepository<UserProfile>> repository; Establish context = () => { repository = new Mock<IRepository<UserProfile>>(); repository.Setup<UserProfile>(x => x.First(up => up.OpenID == @"http://testuser.myopenid.com")).Returns(GetDummyUser()); }; protected static UserProfile GetDummyUser() { UserProfile p = new UserProfile(); p.OpenID = @"http://testuser.myopenid.com"; p.FirstName = "Joe"; p.LastLogin = DateTime.Now.Date.AddDays(-7); p.LastName = "Bloggs"; p.Email = "[email protected]"; return p; } } I run into trouble because it's not enjoying the Linq expression: System.NotSupportedException: Expression up = (up.OpenID = "http://testuser.myopenid.com") is not supported. So how does one test these sorts of scenarios?

  • SQL Compact allow only one WCF Client

  • How do I check if output stream of a socket is closed?

    - by Roman
    I have this code: public void post(String message) { output.close(); final String mess = message; (new Thread() { public void run() { while (true) { try { output.println(mess); System.out.println("The following message was successfully sent:"); System.out.println(mess); break; } catch (NullPointerException e) { try {Thread.sleep(1000);} catch (InterruptedException ie) {} } } } }).start(); } As you can see I close the socket in the very beginning of the code and then try to use it to send some information to another computer. The program writes me "The following message was successfully sent". It means that the NullPointerException was not thrown. So, does Java throw no exception if it tries to use a closed output stream of a socket? Is there a way to check if a socket is closed or opened? ADDED I initialize the socket in the following way: clientSideSocket = new Socket(hostname,port); PrintWriter out = new PrintWriter(clientSideSocket.getOutputStream(), true); browser.output = out;

  • Custom ConfigurationSection: CallbackValidator called with empty string

    - by Paolo Tedesco
    I am writing a custom configuration section, and I would like to validate a configuration property with a callback, like in this example: using System; using System.Configuration; class CustomSection : ConfigurationSection { [ConfigurationProperty("stringValue", IsRequired = false)] [CallbackValidator(Type = typeof(CustomSection), CallbackMethodName = "ValidateString")] public string StringValue { get { return (string)this["stringValue"]; } set { this["stringValue"] = value; } } public static void ValidateString(object value) { if (string.IsNullOrEmpty((string)value)) { throw new ArgumentException("string must not be empty."); } } } class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { CustomSection cfg = (CustomSection)ConfigurationManager.GetSection("customSection"); Console.WriteLine(cfg.StringValue); } } And my App.config file looks like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <configuration> <configSections> <section name="customSection" type="CustomSection, config-section"/> </configSections> <customSection stringValue="lorem ipsum"/> </configuration> My problem is that when the ValidateString function is called, the value parameter is always an empty string, and therefore the validation fails. If i just remove the validator, the string value is correctly initialized to the value in the configuration file. What am I missing? EDIT I discovered that actually the validation function is being called twice: the first time with the default value of the property, which is an empty string if nothing is specified, the second time with the real value read from the configuration file. Is there a way to modify this behavior?

    I've recently been working with code that looks like this: using namespace std; class Singleton { public: static Singleton& getInstance(); int val; }; Singleton &Singleton::getInstance() { static Singleton s; return s; } class Test { public: Test(Singleton &singleton1); }; Test::Test(Singleton &singleton1) { Singleton singleton2 = Singleton::getInstance(); singleton2.val = 1; if(singleton1.val == singleton2.val) { cout << "Match\n"; } else { cout << "No Match " << singleton1.val << " - " << singleton2.val << "\n"; } } int main() { Singleton singleton = Singleton::getInstance(); singleton.val = 2; Test t(singleton); } Every time I run it I get "No Match". From what I can tell when stepping through with GDB is that there are two instances of the Singleton. Why is this?

  • C# .NET: Descending comparison of a SortedDictionary?

    - by Rosarch
    I'm want a IDictionary<float, foo> that returns the larges values of the key first. private IDictionary<float, foo> layers = new SortedDictionary<float, foo>(new DescendingComparer<float>()); class DescendingComparer<T> : IComparer<T> where T : IComparable<T> { public int Compare(T x, T y) { return -y.CompareTo(x); } } However, this returns values in order of the smallest first. I feel like I'm making a stupid mistake here. Just to see what would happen, I removed the - sign from the comparator: public int Compare(T x, T y) { return y.CompareTo(x); } But I got the same result. This reinforces my intuition that I'm making a stupid error. This is the code that accesses the dictionary: foreach (KeyValuePair<float, foo> kv in sortedLayers) { // ... } UPDATE: This works, but is too slow to call as frequently as I need to call this method: IOrderedEnumerable<KeyValuePair<float, foo>> sortedLayers = layers.OrderByDescending(kv => kv.Key); foreach (KeyValuePair<float, ICollection<IGameObjectController>> kv in sortedLayers) { // ... } UPDATE: I put a break point in the comparator that never gets hit as I add and remove kv pairs from the dictionary. What could this mean?

  • Synchronize DataGrid and DataForm in Silverlight 3

    - by SpiralGray
    I've been banging my head against the wall for a couple of days on this and it's time to ask for help. I've got a DataGrid and DataForm on the same UserControl. I'm using an MVVM approach so there is a single ViewModel for the UserControl. That ViewModel has a couple of properties that are relevant to this discussion: public ObservableCollection<VehicleViewModel> Vehicles { get; private set; } public VehicleViewModel SelectedVehicle { get { return selectedVehicle; } private set { selectedVehicle = value; OnPropertyChanged( "SelectedVehicle" ); } } In the XAML I've got the DataGrid and DataForm defined as follows: <data:DataGrid SelectionMode="Single" ItemsSource="{Binding Vehicles}" SelectedItem="{Binding SelectedVehicle, Mode=TwoWay}" AutoGenerateColumns="False" IsReadOnly="True"> <dataFormToolkit:DataForm CurrentItem="{Binding SelectedVehicle}" /> So as the SelectedItem changes on the DataGrid it should push that change back to the ViewModel and when the ViewModel raises the OnPropertyChanged the DataForm should refresh itself with the information for the newly-selected VehicleViewModel. However, the setter for SelectedVehicle is never being called and in the Output window of VS I'm seeing the following error: System.Windows.Data Error: ConvertBack cannot convert value 'xxxx.ViewModel.VehicleViewModel' (type 'xxxx.ViewModel.VehicleViewModel'). BindingExpression: Path='SelectedVehicle' DataItem='xxxx.ViewModel.MainViewModel' (HashCode=31664161); target element is 'System.Windows.Controls.DataGrid' (Name=''); target property is 'SelectedItem' (type 'System.Object').. System.MethodAccessException: xxxx.ViewModel.MainViewModel.set_SelectedVehicle(xxxx.ViewModel.VehicleViewModel) It sounds like it's having a problem converting from a VehicleViewModel to an object (or back again), but I'm confused as to why that would be (or even if I'm on the right track with that assumption). Each row/item in the DataGrid should be a VehicleViewModel (because the ItemsSource is bound to an ObservableCollection of that type), so when the SelectedItem changes it should be dealing with an instance of VehicleViewModel. Any insight would be appreciated.

  • WPF/Silverlight AutoCompleteBox with ability to add new values to list.

    - by WillH
    Hi, I would like to use autocompletebox with a list of values, but also add new values to the list if a user enters one that isn't present. I currently have a string property in my view model called 'Comment'. Currently this is bound to a textbox in the view - user types a comment and the view model is updated. Simple. To save time, my customer would like it to autocomplete from previous values, so the way I thought to do this is something like: ViewModel public string Comment; public ObservableCollection<string> CommentsList { ... } (populate the CommentsList when the viewmodel is created) View <AutoCompleteComboBox ItemsSource="{Binding CommentsList}" SelectedItem="{Binding Comment, Mode=TwoWay/> So when the user selects a value, it saves the value in the Comment property. This works fine if the user selects an item in the list, but if the user types in a new value, the comment property is not updated (it is null because the selected item was not in the list). Is this possible with autocompletebox? Thanks in advance, Will

  • how to use anonymous generic delegate in C# 2.0

    - by matti
    Hi. I have a class called NTree: class NTree<T> { public NTree(T data) { this.data = data; children = new List<NTree<T>>(); _stopTraverse = false; } ... public void Traverse(NTree<T> node, TreeVisitor<T> visitor) { try { _stopTraverse = false; Traverse(node, visitor); } finally { _stopTraverse = false; } } private void TraverseInternal(NTree<T> node, TreeVisitor<T> visitor) { if (_stopTraverse) return; if (!visitor(node.data)) { _stopTraverse = true; } foreach (NTree<T> kid in node.children) Traverse(kid, visitor); } When I try to use Traverse with anonymous delegate I get: Argument '2': cannot convert from 'anonymous method' to 'NisConverter.TreeVisitor' The code: tTable srcTable = new tTable(); DataRow[] rows; rootTree.Traverse(rootTree, delegate(TableRows tr) { if (tr.TableName == srcTable.mappingname) { rows = tr.Rows; return false; } }); This however produces no errors: static bool TableFinder<TableRows>(TableRows tr) { return true; } ... rootTree.Traverse(rootTree, TableFinder); I have tried to put "arrowhead-parenthisis" and everything to anonymous delegate but it just does not work. Please help me! Thanks & BR -Matti
