  • Setting session timezone with spring jdbc oracle

    Hello I have a spring/jdbc/oracle 10g application. The Oracle server database timezone is set to GMT + 2 JVM timezone is GMT + 2 (even though it doesn't matter in my case). I have a stored procedure that performs some date operations. The problem is that session timezone is different(GMT) than database timezone even though I do not set session timezone explicit in my code/configuration. As far as I know the session timezone is by default equal to database timezone. Any idea why is the session timezone different than database timezone or how can I configure it in spring configuration (org.apache.commons.dbcp.BasicDataSource) ? Thank you.

  • Bean is not instantiating while using hibernate interceptor

    I am using hibernate interceptor with spring framework,but when i pass a bean reference of DAO class its not instantiating the bean. My interceptor class has: private IMyService myService; // and getters and setters while application-context.xml having entries: <bean id="sessionFactory" class="org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.LocalSessionFactoryBean"> <property name="entityInterceptor" ref="logInterceptor"></property> </bean> <bean name="logInterceptor" class="com.amit.project.Utility.TableLogInterceptor" > <property name="myService" ref="myService"/> </bean> <bean name="myService" class="com.amit.project.service.impl.MyService"> But my bean is not instantiating in class, showing null. entityInterceptor is not allowing to do that or anything else? plz suggest a way if anybody knows.

  • Prevent SQL injection from form-generated SQL - NO PreparedStmts

    Hi all, I have a search table where user will be able to filter results with a filter of the type: Field [Name], Value [John], Remove Rule Field [Surname], Value [Blake], Remove Rule Field [Has Children], Value [Yes], Remove Rule Add Rule So the user will be able to set an arbitrary set of filters, which will result essentially in a completely dynamic WHERE clause. In the future I will also have to implement more complicated logical expressions, like Where (name=John OR name=Nick) AND (surname=Blake OR surname=Bourne), Of all 10 fields the user may or may not filter by, I don't know how many and which filters the user will set. So, I cannot use a prepared statement (which assumes that at least we know the fields in the WHERE clause). This is why prepared statements are unfortunately out of the question, I have to do it with plain old, generated SQL. What measures can I take to protect the application from SQL Injection (REGEX-wise or any other way)?

    Hello guys, question on dock panels within gwt So i want the dockpanel to take up the whole size of the browser window dockPanel.setSize("100%", "100%"); if this correct Next Question, i am going to add a north panel , that will be 100px high and take up the whole width of the browser topPanel.setSize("100%", "100px"); dockPanel.add(topPanel, DockPanel.NORTH); is this correct, then i want to add a west panel that is 200px wide and the whole length of the browser up to just under the north panel westSideStackPanel.setSize("200px","100%") mainPanel.add(westSideStackPanel,DockPanel.WEST); i have created all this but when i look at my dockpanel there is a big gap between the west panel and the north panel the whole way accross the screen. why would this be? The north panel stays at 100px, and then there is a gap of about 100px high the whole width of the screen.

  • After Filter redirects to login.jsp, proper servlet doesnt get called

    My simple project structure is shown in this link. I am using Eclipse and Tomcat 6. There is login.jsp which submits its form to login_servlet. The login_servlet sets a session variable and then redirects to home.jsp. The home.jsp file has links to the 4 JSP files under a directory called /sam. In web.xml I have given the url-pattern as /sam/* for the LogFiler filter. The LogFilter just reads the session variable and does doChain(request,resposne) if valid, else it redirects to /login.jsp. RequestDispatcher rd = request.getRequestDispatcher("/login.jsp"); rd.forward(request,response); Basically I don't want anyone to access files inside /sam directory directly. Now let's say, I try to directly access a file inside /sam directory, the filter kicks in and the redirection to login.jsp works and even the broswers contents are that of login.jsp, but the url in the browser doesn't change. When I enter details and press submit, instead of sending the data to login_servlet, it sends it to sam/login_servlet and then tomcat tells me there is no such servlet here! Obviously there isn't. My doubt is why is it sending it so sam/login_servlet instead of /login_servlet which is usually what it does when I start running the login.jsp on my own. One more thing, is there a way I can apply the servlet to ONLY .jsp files inside /sam diectory? I tried giving the url-pattern like /sam/*.jsp, but Tomcat was refusing to accept that url-pattern.

    hi all, i want to format date to string in hql select, for example i have purchasing data with transaction date in it: class Purchase { private Date datePurchase } and i want to select date in a certain format, for example yyyyMMdd, can i do that in hql? actually i can iterate through all purchase data returned by query, and start to format the date using SimpleDateFormat, but i don't want do that, i want to do it in hql, is it posible? fyi, i just want to return the id and date string only, not all Purchase field. thak you all for any help.

    I'm getting the error below when i try to execute a stored procedure in a Stateless bean with container managed persistance; com.ibm.db2.jcc.am.SqlException: DB2 SQL Error: SQLCODE=-751, SQLSTATE=38003, SQLERRMC=STORED PROCEDURE;FXTR324;FXTR324;COMMIT, DRIVER=4.7.85 The stored proc executes without errors if i manually create the connection the database, i.e. unmanaged transaction. Is there anything i need to do for it to execute in the EJB bean?

    I have some code grabbing a JSON array from my server and initially storing it as a string. This all works fine until I try and deserialize it using google's gson fromJson method. LogCat spits out the error: 04-08 17:46:35.163: ERROR/dalvikvm(401): Can't shrink stack: curFrame is in reserved area (0x41049000 0x410491c4) My code that causes the error is: String[] results = gson.fromJson(returnString, String[].class); Can anyone shed some light on what I am doing wrong?     Hello all, I'm in the exact same situation as this old question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2077558/warn-could-not-register-destruction-callback In short: I see a warning saying that a destruction callback could not be registered for some beans. My question is: since the beans whose destruction callback cannot be registered are two persistance beans, could this be the source of a memory leak? I am experiencing a leak in my app. Although the session timeout is set (to 30 minutes), my profiler shows me more instances of the hibernate SessionImpl each time I run a thread dump. The number of instances of SessionImpl is exactly the number of times I tried to login between two thread dumps. Thanks for your help...

    Currently, I have an HQL query that returns all Members who possess ANY Award from a set of specified Awards: from Member m left join m.awards as a where a.name in ("Trophy","Ribbon"); What I now need is HQL that will return all Members who possess ALL Awards specified in the set of Awards. So, assuming this data: Joe has Trophy, Medal Sue has Trophy, Ribbon Tom has Trophy, Ribbon, Medal The query above would return Joe, Sue, and Tom because all three possess at least one of Trophy or Ribbon. But I need to return only Sue and Tom, because they are the only ones who possess all of the specified awards (Trophy and Ribbon).     We create a custom Doclet for our projet to generate a specific documentation for our client. We define some specific tags that are parsed by the doclet when we generate the documentation. Do you know how to ask eclipse to add warning when those special tags are missing in our javadoc comments ? Short of building another servlet to do my startup logic, is there any built-in way to avoid building my database factories and the like on the first request (and all the commensurate locking I'll have to do to avoid multiple initializations)?

  • Problem with implementing removeAll for List of custom object

    Hello everyone, I have a scenario in my code where I need to compare two Lists and remove from the first list, objects which are present in the second list. Akin to how the "removeAll" object works for List. Since my List is created on a custom object, the removeAll method won't work for me. I have tried various methods to make this work: - implemented equals() and hashCode for the custom object comprising the list - implemented the Comparable Interface for the custom object - implemented the Comparator Interface for the custom object I've even tried using the Apache Common's CollectionUtils and ListUtils methods (subtract, intersect, removeAll). None seem to work. I understand I will perhaps need to write some custom removal code. But not sure how to go about doing that. Any pointers helping me move in the right direction will be really appreciated. Thanks, Jay
