  • Displaytag export option is not working

    - by Nirmal
    Hello All, I am using Displaytag framework for pagination & exporting purpose. In that i am also using Strut2Tiles Integration. Whenever i am calling any action class it will returning me a list & through Displaytag i am successfully displaying record on my page. For that my jsp page's code looks like : <s:set name="selectedPageSize" value="selectedPageSize" scope="request"/> <s:set value="accountList" scope="request" name="accountList"/> <display:table name="accountList" export="true" class="table" requestURI="" id="accountList" pagesize="${selectedPageSize}" > <display:setProperty name="export.pdf" value="true" /> <display:column property="id" sortable="true" class="sort-title"/> <display:column property="name" sortable="true"/> <display:column property="contactPerson" sortable="true"/> <display:column property="phone1" sortable="true"/> <display:column property="phone2" sortable="true"/> <display:column property="fax" sortable="true"/> <display:column property="email" sortable="true"/> <display:column property="webSite" sortable="true"/> <display:column property="address1" sortable="true"/> <display:column property="address2" sortable="true"/> <display:column property="countryId.name" title="Country" sortable="true"/> <display:column property="stateId.name" title="State" sortable="true"/> <display:column property="countryId.name" title="City" sortable="true"/> <display:column property="isDeleted" sortable="true"/> <display:column title="Delete"> <s:url id="removeUrl" action="finance/deleteAccount.action"> <s:param name="id" value="#attr.accountList.id" /> </s:url> <s:a href="%{removeUrl}" theme="ajax" targets="accountList">Remove</s:a> </display:column> <display:column title="Update"> <s:url id="updateUrl" action="finance/updateAccount.action"> <s:param value="#attr.accountList.id" name="id"/> </s:url> <s:a href="%{updateUrl}&action=update" targets="accountlist">Update</s:a> </display:column> Actually this page is displaying through tiles configuration. Here i have enabled the export option, so it is showing me the exporting options like CSV, EXCEL, XML. But whenver i am clicking on that CSV link, my web browser hanged, means nothing is displayed on it For that exporting solution i have also added filter in my web.xml. My web.xml looks like: <filter> <filter-name>struts2</filter-name> <filter-class>org.apache.struts2.dispatcher.FilterDispatcher</filter-class> </filter> <filter-mapping> <filter-name>struts2</filter-name> <url-pattern>/*</url-pattern> </filter-mapping> <filter> <filter-name>ResponseOverrideFilter</filter-name> <filter-class>org.displaytag.filter.ResponseOverrideFilter</filter-class> </filter> <filter-mapping> <filter-name>ResponseOverrideFilter</filter-name> <url-pattern>*.action</url-pattern> </filter-mapping> <filter-mapping> <filter-name>ResponseOverrideFilter</filter-name> <url-pattern>*.jsp</url-pattern> </filter-mapping> <listener> <listener-class>org.apache.struts2.tiles.StrutsTilesListener</listener-class> </listener> <listener> <listener-class>org.springframework.web.context.ContextLoaderListener</listener-class> </listener> <context-param> <param-name>contextConfigLocation</param-name> <param-value>/WEB-INF/classes/webApplicationContext.xml</param-value> </context-param> <welcome-file-list> <welcome-file>jsp/welcome.jsp</welcome-file> </welcome-file-list> I have also included following list of libraries of displaytag : 1) displaytag-1.2.jar 2) displaytag-export-poi-1.2.jar 3) displaytag-portlet-1.2.jar The exception that i am getting is : 2009-05-09 12:02:38,234 DEBUG (org.displaytag.tags.TableTag:1524) - Exportfilter NOT enabled 2009-05-09 12:02:38,312 WARN (org.displaytag.tags.TableTag:63) - Exception: [.TableTag] Unable to reset response before returning exported data. You are not using an export filter. Be sure that no other jsp tags are used before display:table or refer to the displaytag documentation on how to configure the export filter (requires j2ee 1.3). You are not using an export filter. Be sure that no other jsp tags are used before display:table or refer to the displaytag documentation on how to configure the export filter (requires j2ee 1.3). Plz reply, i am stuck with this problem.

  • Learning Hibernate: too many connections

    - by stivlo
I'm trying to learn Hibernate and I wrote the simplest Person Entity and I was trying to insert 2000 of them. I know I'm using deprecated methods, I will try to figure out what are the new ones later. First, here is the class Person: @Entity public class Person { private int id; private String name; @Id @GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.TABLE, generator = "person") @TableGenerator(name = "person", table = "sequences", allocationSize = 1) public int getId() { return id; } public void setId(int id) { this.id = id; } public String getName() { return name; } public void setName(String name) { this.name = name; } } Then I wrote a small App class that insert 2000 entities with a loop: public class App { private static AnnotationConfiguration config; public static void insertPerson() { SessionFactory factory = config.buildSessionFactory(); Session session = factory.getCurrentSession(); session.beginTransaction(); Person aPerson = new Person(); aPerson.setName("John"); session.save(aPerson); session.getTransaction().commit(); } public static void main(String[] args) { config = new AnnotationConfiguration(); config.addAnnotatedClass(Person.class); config.configure("hibernate.cfg.xml"); //is the default already new SchemaExport(config).create(true, true); //print and execute for (int i = 0; i < 2000; i++) { insertPerson(); } } } What I get after a while is: Exception in thread "main" org.hibernate.exception.JDBCConnectionException: Cannot open connection Caused by: com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.jdbc4.MySQLNonTransientConnectionException: Too many connections Now I know that probably if I put the transaction outside the loop it would work, but mine was a test to see what happens when executing multiple transactions. And since there is only one open at each time, it should work. I tried to add session.close() after the commit, but I got Exception in thread "main" org.hibernate.SessionException: Session was already closed So how to solve the problem?

  • JPA and MySQL transaction isolation level

    - by armandino
I have a native query that does a batch insert into a MySQL database: String sql = "insert into t1 (a, b) select x, y from t2 where x = 'foo'"; EntityTransaction tx = entityManager.getTransaction(); try { tx.begin(); int rowCount = entityManager.createNativeQuery(sql).executeUpdate(); tx.commit(); return rowCount; } catch(Exception ex) { tx.rollback(); log.error(...); } This query causes a deadlock: while it reads from t2 with insert .. select, another process tries to insert a row into t2. I don't care about the consistency of reads from t2 when doing an insert .. select and want to set the transaction isolation level to READ_UNCOMMITTED. How do I go about setting it in JPA?

  • How to modularize a b2b webservice transformation application

    - by hstoerr
How would you modularize a large application that has some incoming (SOAP) webservices, some outgoing webservices, transformations between them and internal formats, internal logging services, accesses external archiving webservices, delays stuff and works on this asynchronously and so forth? One way is to split the functionality into a collection of WAR, deploy all of them on one application server and have them communicate with internal webservices. This has some overhead, especially if the messages are large, and you might run into performance problems due to thread count restrictions and so forth. Another way would be to put everything into a giant WAR, such that you can communicate directly. Not exactly modularization. What would you do?

  • Detect car acceleration in Android app?

    - by Stud33
I want to incorporate some Accelerometer code into a Android application im working and want to see if this is possible. Basically what I need is for the code to detect car acceleration motion. I am not wanting to determine speed with the code but just distinguish if the phone is in a car and has accelerated motion (Hence the car is moving for the first time). I have gone through many different accelerometer applications to see if this motion produces a viable profile to go off of and it appears it does. Just looking for something that popups a "Hello World" dialog when it detects your in the car and its moving for the first time down the street. Any help would be appreciated and a simple yes or no its possible would work. I would also be interested in compensating anyone that is capable of doing this as well. I need this done like yesterday so please let me know. Thank You, JTW

  • Invert linear linked list

    - by ArtWorkAD
Hi, a linear linked list is a set of nodes. This is how a node is defined (to keep it easy we do not distinguish between node an list): class Node{ Object data; Node link; public Node(Object pData, Node pLink){ this.data = pData; this.link = pLink; } public String toString(){ if(this.link != null){ return this.data.toString() + this.link.toString(); }else{ return this.data.toString() ; } } public void inc(){ this.data = new Integer((Integer)this.data + 1); } public void lappend(Node list){ Node child = this.link; while(child != null){ child = child.link; } child.link = list; } public Node copy(){ if(this.link != null){ return new Node(new Integer((Integer)this.data), this.link.copy()); }else{ return new Node(new Integer((Integer)this.data), null); } } public Node invert(){ Node child = this.link; while(child != null){ child = child.link; } child.link = this;.... } } I am able to make a deep copy of the list. Now I want to invert the list so that the first node is the last and the last the first. The inverted list has to be a deep copy. I started developing the invert function but I am not sure. Any Ideas? Update: Maybe there is a recursive way since the linear linked list is a recursive data structure. I would take the first element, iterate through the list until I get to a node that has no child and append the first element, I would repeat this for the second, third....

I've got a JTextArea which has the following text "Text1 Text2 Text3". Is there a way I can make all of them different fonts? E.g. "Text1" is bold, "Text2" is italic and "Text3" is normal? I know I can create a Font object, however I can only apply it the JTextArea object. Thanks.

  • Problems with deploying struts annotations in ear file

    - by Asif
I am attempting to make use of the struts 2 annotations, what I have found is if I deploy the app as a war file everything works fine but if I deploy my war as part of an ear file none of the struts annotations work only the actions defined in struts.xml work. I can't seem to work out why deploying as a ear file annotations don't work. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I am using struts 2.1.8 and deploying to Jboss 5 thanks

  • Accessing Spring beans from a Tiles view (JSP)

    - by Sinuhe
    In Spring MVC I can access my beans in JSP using JstlView's exposedContextBeanNames (or exposeContextBeansAsAttributes). For example, then, in my JSP I can write (${properties.myProperty). But when the same JSP is a part of a tiles view, these properties aren't accessible. Is possible to configure Tiles properly or access these properties in another way? I'm using Spring MVC 3.0.2 and Tiles 2.2.1. Here's a bit of my configuration: <bean id="tilesViewResolver" class="org.springframework.web.servlet.view.UrlBasedViewResolver"> <property name="order" value="1"/> <property name="viewClass" value="org.springframework.web.servlet.view.tiles2.TilesView" /> </bean> <bean class="org.springframework.web.servlet.view.InternalResourceViewResolver"> <property name="viewClass" value="org.springframework.web.servlet.view.JstlView"/> <property name="order" value="2"/> <property name="prefix" value="/WEB-INF/views/"/> <property name="suffix" value=".jsp"/> <property name="exposedContextBeanNames"> <list><value>properties</value></list> </property> </bean>

  • Background settings for a JDesktopPane

    - by EricR
    I'm using a self-made DesktopPaneUI for a JDesktopPane, I've written the proper methods for the class, and I'm running into trouble. When I resize the JDesktopPane, the background image doesn't resize with the frame. The image appears to be clipped at the size it was when the window initially opened. I'm giving it an image larger than the window, and I'm still having this problem. Here's my method call inside the constructor of my desktopUI class. super(); this.background = javax.imageio.ImageIO.read(new File(fileName)); Is there a way I can change my main class where I set the UI, or the myDesktopPaneUI class such that the background still fills the window when the JDesktopPane changes size? setUI(new myDesktopPaneUI("media/bg.jpg"));

  • GUID to ByteArray

    - by DutrowLLC
    I just wrote this code to turn a GUID into a byte array. Can anyone shoot any holes in it or suggest something better? public static byte[] getGuidAsByteArray(){ UUID uuid = UUID.randomUUID(); long longOne = uuid.getMostSignificantBits(); long longTwo = uuid.getLeastSignificantBits(); return new byte[] { (byte)(longOne >>> 56), (byte)(longOne >>> 48), (byte)(longOne >>> 40), (byte)(longOne >>> 32), (byte)(longOne >>> 24), (byte)(longOne >>> 16), (byte)(longOne >>> 8), (byte) longOne, (byte)(longTwo >>> 56), (byte)(longTwo >>> 48), (byte)(longTwo >>> 40), (byte)(longTwo >>> 32), (byte)(longTwo >>> 24), (byte)(longTwo >>> 16), (byte)(longTwo >>> 8), (byte) longTwo }; }

  • Difference in output from use of synchronized keyword and join()

    - by user2964080
I have 2 classes, public class Account { private int balance = 50; public int getBalance() { return balance; } public void withdraw(int amt){ this.balance -= amt; } } and public class DangerousAccount implements Runnable{ private Account acct = new Account(); public static void main(String[] args) throws InterruptedException{ DangerousAccount target = new DangerousAccount(); Thread t1 = new Thread(target); Thread t2 = new Thread(target); t1.setName("Ravi"); t2.setName("Prakash"); t1.start(); /* #1 t1.join(); */ t2.start(); } public void run(){ for(int i=0; i<5; i++){ makeWithdrawl(10); if(acct.getBalance() < 0) System.out.println("Account Overdrawn"); } } public void makeWithdrawl(int amt){ if(acct.getBalance() >= amt){ System.out.println(Thread.currentThread().getName() + " is going to withdraw"); try{ Thread.sleep(500); }catch(InterruptedException e){ e.printStackTrace(); } acct.withdraw(amt); System.out.println(Thread.currentThread().getName() + " has finished the withdrawl"); }else{ System.out.println("Not Enough Money For " + Thread.currentThread().getName() + " to withdraw"); } } } I tried adding synchronized keyword in makeWithdrawl method public synchronized void makeWithdrawl(int amt){ and I keep getting this output as many times I try Ravi is going to withdraw Ravi has finished the withdrawl Ravi is going to withdraw Ravi has finished the withdrawl Ravi is going to withdraw Ravi has finished the withdrawl Ravi is going to withdraw Ravi has finished the withdrawl Ravi is going to withdraw Ravi has finished the withdrawl Not Enough Money For Prakash to withdraw Not Enough Money For Prakash to withdraw Not Enough Money For Prakash to withdraw Not Enough Money For Prakash to withdraw Not Enough Money For Prakash to withdraw This shows that only Thread t1 is working... If I un-comment the the line saying t1.join(); I get the same output. So how does synchronized differ from join() ? If I don't use synchronize keyword or join() I get various outputs like Ravi is going to withdraw Prakash is going to withdraw Prakash has finished the withdrawl Ravi has finished the withdrawl Prakash is going to withdraw Ravi is going to withdraw Prakash has finished the withdrawl Ravi has finished the withdrawl Prakash is going to withdraw Ravi is going to withdraw Prakash has finished the withdrawl Ravi has finished the withdrawl Account Overdrawn Account Overdrawn Not Enough Money For Ravi to withdraw Account Overdrawn Not Enough Money For Prakash to withdraw Account Overdrawn Not Enough Money For Ravi to withdraw Account Overdrawn Not Enough Money For Prakash to withdraw Account Overdrawn So how does the output from synchronized differ from join() ?

  • Standard Place for an Empty String Array in the JDK

    - by Simon B
Hi is there a standard place for accessing empty array constants in the JDK 1.5. When I want to do a conversion from a String Collection (e.g. ArrayList)to a String Array I find myself using my own which is defined in my own Constants class: public static final String[] EMPTY_STRING_ARRAY = new String[0]; And then in my client code something like: String[] retVal = myStringList.toArray(Constants.EMPTY_STRING_ARRAY); return retVal; I was wondering if this is the "idiomatic" of doing it or if I'm missing something I get the impression from the brief search I did that this kind of thing is prevalent in many people's code. Any ideas, answers, comment (aside from that I shouldn't really use String Arrays) greatly appreciated, Cheers Simon

  • Comparable and Comparator contract with regards to null

    - by polygenelubricants
Comparable contract specifies that e.compareTo(null) must throw NullPointerException. From the API: Note that null is not an instance of any class, and e.compareTo(null) should throw a NullPointerException even though e.equals(null) returns false. On the other hand, Comparator API mentions nothing about what needs to happen when comparing null. Consider the following attempt of a generic method that takes a Comparable, and return a Comparator for it that puts null as the minimum element. static <T extends Comparable<? super T>> Comparator<T> nullComparableComparator() { return new Comparator<T>() { @Override public int compare(T el1, T el2) { return el1 == null ? -1 : el2 == null ? +1 : el1.compareTo(el2); } }; } This allows us to do the following: List<Integer> numbers = new ArrayList<Integer>( Arrays.asList(3, 2, 1, null, null, 0) ); Comparator<Integer> numbersComp = nullComparableComparator(); Collections.sort(numbers, numbersComp); System.out.println(numbers); // "[null, null, 0, 1, 2, 3]" List<String> names = new ArrayList<String>( Arrays.asList("Bob", null, "Alice", "Carol") ); Comparator<String> namesComp = nullComparableComparator(); Collections.sort(names, namesComp); System.out.println(names); // "[null, Alice, Bob, Carol]" So the questions are: Is this an acceptable use of a Comparator, or is it violating an unwritten rule regarding comparing null and throwing NullPointerException? Is it ever a good idea to even have to sort a List containing null elements, or is that a sure sign of a design error?

  • How do you use stereotype annotations in Spring 2.5.x?

    - by grigory
When moving to Spring 2.5.x I found that it adds more stereotype annotations (on top of @Repository from 2.0): @Component, @Service and @Controller. How do you use them? Do you rely on implicit Spring support or you define custom stereotype specific functions/aspects/features? Or is it predominately for marking beans (compile time, conceptual, etc.)?

  • Restlet/Jackson works differently when object implements Serializable

    - by ravyoli
I am sending an object with some primitive fields using Restlet with Jackson converter. Up until now it worked great. But then I needed my object to implement Serializable, because I need to store it in memcache of GAE. For some reason - when the class implements Serializable, things stop working. Restlet sends a different string representation from before, and I can't even print that string in the server. I tried printing its byte value, char-by-char and the first numbers are: 0xfffd 0xfffd 0x0000 0x0005 0x0073 0x0072 Thanks a lot!
